Gaynors had been amazing! My Chevy equinox was to the point were I wasn t sure if it could be saved and they fixed it like how I first got it years ago! They are very nice and detail everything that needs to be done and explain everything very well for me (who has no auto knowledge)

The first time I went to Gaynor s was to have a headlight fixed. They did it with a smile and I was out of there in no time!!This time was for an oil change and service. They were prompt in servicing the car and I felt confident that everything was in good order. A great crew that obviously works well together. Thanks!! I will be back!

Very friendly, helpful people. Told them my concerns about car. They listened and then got to work on the issues. I was driven to and from the shop as needed by a wonderful gentleman, which made the whole situation so much nicer. Gaynor's came highly recommended by friends. At near 80, I felt comfortable putting myself in their hands to deal with the car issues.

I had a disappointing experience with Gaynor's auto repair shop in Hazel Dell. I contacted them when my 2011 BMW X3 failed to start following a winter/ice storm in January 2024, because they had previously serviced the vehicle, including oil changes and a few other minor services. Despite explaining the situation to the service advisor, Julio, and emphasizing roadside service was unable to jump the car, that it was more than just a battery issue, I was instructed to tow my car to their shop for diagnostics. After a full day of waiting, Gaynor's informed me they lacked the necessary equipment to read the codes and diagnose the problem. They did find water in the battery well and corrosion on power wires due to a water leak, yet their diagnostic process yielded no results. I was charged $149 for this inconclusive service. When I questioned the fairness of paying for a diagnostic that didn't diagnose anything, Jeff, the shop manager, reluctantly offered a partial refund, citing the technician's compensation. This response seemed more like a management issue than my responsibility as a customer.Gaynor's recommended taking my car elsewhere, which led to an additional tow and diagnosis at Bavarian Auto Works. Within hours, Bavarian Auto Works accurately diagnosed and repaired my car at a reasonable price. They started the car by charging the battery and identified an oil leak and recommended fixes, including a valve gasket replacement that Gaynor's had done just nine months prior. When I inquired about warranty coverage for their previous work, Gaynor's cited my failure to return to their shop as grounds for refusal. This lack of accountability and refusal to stand by their work left me deeply dissatisfied.Overall, the service advisors inability to acknowledge their limitations, coupled with a defensive and dismissive attitude towards my concerns, has led me to lose trust in their services. Had they been upfront about their equipment limitations, it would have saved me time, money, and frustration. I will not be returning to Gaynor's for ANY future automotive needs.

Great, friendly service! The advisor and the mechanic were very amicable and they were able to shuttle me to and from my house. They did a great job teaching me why my car was having its issue as well. Thank you to Jeff and Matt!

Had the steering box replaced several months ago unfortunately the replacement parts were defective. Took the truck back in and they ordered new parts and installed them no questions asked. Now the truck handles like new again. Everyone is friendly and helpful a pleasure to work with.

The automotive technician found the electrical short and replaced my wiper motor assembly in short order. The work was done in a timely manner and the price was fair. I will definitely use Gaynors automotive for any future auto repair needs.

I ve been a customer at Gaynors for quite awhile now and my most recent visit has put a sour taste in my mouth. Gone is the family vibe, now it feels like I walked into a corporate office. Julio has always offered no charge for a cabin air filter replacement as a courtesy (I ve always been able to bring my own parts since I worked for an auto parts store). But not this time, I was highly disappointed when I was told I d have to pay for it. That s not the Gaynors way but I understand that it s the way it goes sometimes. As I previously mentioned however, it no longer feels like a friendly neighborhood shop who s always there for you but a corporate run shop who s only worried about the all mighty dollar, not the customer. Quite a shame.

Top-notch experience here. Needed a headlight replaced & stopped by to see if they had the part stocked. Within 10 minutes they d replaced the part & sent me on my way, no fuss. I don t expect that level of service from anyone these days but it was a welcome surprise. Thanks Gaynors!

Incredibly magnificent job from Geoff and his crew on my lil Nissan! I came in and discussed my budget with Geoff and he was able to help me replace my bald tires for a reasonable price. He also laughed at all of my jokes, which is a bonus Thanks again!

These guys are always great to my cars and don't try to pull the world over you. They tell you like it is and are the most respectful mechanics I've ever worked with. You'll love them just as much, I promise.

After I all but tore my front left wheel of my CTS I had it towed and dropped it off at night. When they opened in the morning they got right on it. The damage involved 4 new tires (all wheel drive) tie rods and alignment. They had all these things taken care of in record time in addition to their regular scheduled work. The cost was quite reasonable. The crew there is top notch!

They were able to get me in pretty quickly. I had scheduled online for an appointment for my car- which I affectionately call Snowdrift- to get tires rotated, an oil change, and my windshield wipers replaced. I left Snowdrift there for a few hours and then when it was ready, they called and texted to let me know it was ready. I really appreciate the communication and getting all that done was less than $150!

I always feel like these guys gives me straight answers, no pressure. Just the facts. I get to make the final decision. This is especially helpful as we help our son keep his high mileage Toyota Camry running.

I had the timing belt replaced on a TDI beetle. The engine fell out of the car 90 miles after the repair. I had to pay ALOT to get it towed and repaired as I drove it to Seattle. When I told the Owner, he didn't believe me and asked a mechanic who worked there if it was possible for the engine to fall out when certain(I forget the name) bolts were not replaced. He said yes! The owner did not want to reimburse me but offered a credit for future service. When I brought my beetle in for an oil change they called and told me I had an oil pan leak and would need to replace the pan. I know this was a lie, I quickly drove over to where I left the car. They moved it to another location, so I quickly drove over there and they had the car up on a lift. A guy was under it with a hammer and long chisel trying to put a crack in the oil pan. I demanded he stop and take my car down. As I waited for the car to come down there was a women in the lobby quite upset because they told he she would need a new engine. They offered to buy the car from her for $500 dollars, a several year old Honda. After she left I over heard them telling another employee who just arrive that he could buy a good Honda for $500 that only needed the PCV valve replaced. They are swindlers and the owner seems like a sociopath to me, I could just tell he was lying to me when he told me all the extra things my car needed when we first brought it there. I foolishly let them do the work anyway. Thousands of dollars lost! NEVER AGAIN!!!

Gaynors has been my go-to mechanic since I moved to the Hazel Dell area a year ago. So far, from my experience, this is a good place to take your vehicle for extremely simple jobs such as oil changes and brake jobs, albeit overpriced. As soon as the job becomes any more skill-intestive than those, Gaynors will jump to the most expensive, worst-case scenario repair and state that that is the ONLY option. For example, my last vehicle had a blown head gasket. I took it to Gaynors and I was quoted over $9,000 for a brand-new engine. Since my vehicle had over 200,000 miles on it, they said that their policy stated they could not do work on that old of an engine. I understood and decided to buy a new vehicle. Now, my new vehicle is having an issue with the clutch. My clutch pedal lost all pressure/resistance overnight, which is clearly indicative of a hydraulics issue (either the master or slave cylinder). Gaynors didn't even attempt to bleed the system, which should have been step 1. I'm not sure what diagnostics they DID do, but I was quoted $5,000 to replace my entire clutch assembly, since the "bell housing is full of fluid". There is absolutely no way they could have accessed my bell housing in 1 hour, since they'd have to take apart my entire transmission in order to do so. If the bell housing was leaking, that'd be one thing, but they specifically stated that it was full of fluid.Blatant lying and misleading aside, the unchanging of parts is jaw-dropping. The itemized invoice I received listed a master cylinder as $420.99, a new slave cylinder as $382.99, and a flywheel for $335.99. A quick look at O'Reillys shows these parts as $200, $50, and $50 respectively. I expect some level of upcharge on parts, but 200%, 700%, and 700% seems insane. Also, if you decide to do business with Gaynors, be aware of the diagnostics fee. I was charged $170 for a diagnosis that makes no logistical sense. They did no work to my vehicle, the $170 was JUST to tell me that I needed a $5,000 repair.Gaynors, you can apologize for "falling short of my expectations" as much as you'd like, my expectations were to have an operable vehicle without being lied to or robbed. I'm not interested in doing any further business with you.

Amazing customer service, less than a 24-hour turnaround for multiple repairs, they just got themselves a customer for life.

Took my car into get a transmission flush since it had an error code dealing with the transmission. The front desk assistant talked me into getting it diagnosed first. He said it would be around $150 and set up an appointment for several days later. I had my wife help drop off the car and take time out of her day. Several hours later the gentleman called me back to tell me he read the same codes I had and that I would need to take it to another Gaynors to actually get the transmission diagnosed and I would have to call to set up an appointment. He didn t offer to do that or to transfer the car for me. He did state that he wouldn t charge me. Although it did cost me time and an inconvenience. When I went to go pick up the car (by bike) since my wife was still at work, the couldn t find the keys. Lo and behold they were in my unlocked car on a busy highway 99 where it could have easily been stolen. Not a good experience to say the least and a waste of my time.Service: Transmission

I thought the rates were high. I'm still gathering info as to what other mechanics are charging for labor. The parts were available for much less on line, so that also added to the cost. The work done was exellent and efficient.
