Very professional and honest staff. Got an issue with my Nissan, got a misfire, took it to 3 different mechanic shops, every shop gave me a different result. At fifth Gear, issue was resolved within 1/2 an hour!

I took my mercedes s550 here because I had an air bag sensor alert. It turned out all that needed to be done was have it calibrated. The dealership in Portland wanted $250 just to figure out the problem. These guys are very honest and reputable. Will definitely bring my car here for all my service needs.

my car was making a sound, they got me in same day, diagnosed the problem with the hour and had everything fixed by the afternoon. after the diagnosis (I needed new calipers, rotors, and break pads), I called another shop and they quoted me $400 more than this place. good experience.

This mechanic is amazing mechanic I took my truck ford f150 To get a repair and he did an excellent job. I highly recommend it to anybody best mechanic on town Don't go anywhere else where there's bunch of ripoffs.

I really wanted to like this shop, but I'm still upset at my experience. I brought my car in to fix the e-brake, I explained the car has been sitting and just wanted it fixed. I got charged for a rotor and pad replacement, among other things, but as you can see in the photos that was not replaced. Even worse, they left a huge grease mess on my seat, and carpet. The interior was all disassembled around the e-break handle and not put back. All this cost me $500, and he didn't want to give me a receipt because he claimed the car was not road safe, even though I drove it to Seattle the next day. He didn't want to give me a receipt because the work he charged me for was not real, looks like they just adjusted the break cable and charged me $500.

I broke down on I-5 and didn't know where to go. My friends husband recommended this shop because my vehicle is an Audi and can't go just anywhere. Mo is awesome!! He allowed me to tow there as a new customer, and he waited for the tow truck to lock my car up in the lot for the night. He diagnosed and called me immediately the next day and I agreed to all repairs. He is very friendly and smart. I would recommend this shop to anyone that has a foreign car in Vancouver. The clutch on my Honda gave out while I was on I-5 on a Friday evening. Fifth Gear Automotive was the only place that was able to take my car. Joseph was readily available by phone, and allowed me to drop off my car after hours. He kept me informed, his pricing was fair, and they got the job done two days earlier than anticipated. It s been at least two months since, and I m happy with the work. Joseph is available 24-7 and easy to reach by text. It made communication and asking questions very easy!

Mo has been exceptional with service! I've come into the shop a few times with questions about my daughters 2004 VW Beetle and he is very knowledgeable. We had a very unique issue with the mechanics of the vehicle that we called a few shops about before bringing it into Mo, at 5th Wheel Automotive.After some discussion he tried the simplest solution with changing out the battery. It worked! Its been at least 4 months and the car runs great. Not only did he find the simplest solution to what seemed like a complex issue, but he gave us the battery at no charge. My BMW 328xi wouldn't start while I was out and about on a Saturday. AAA could not get it started and there was an over 3 hour wait for a tow. I called and Joseph went above and beyond to help me. They were not even open and he text me a tow company, I had my car towed to his shop. We spoke Sunday, he told me it was electrical and his mechanic would be in first thing Monday. Joseph text and called on Monday, it was the starter. He quoted me a reasonable price and I had the work done. Exceptional customer service, constant communication from Joseph even on a Sat./Sun. and my car is running perfectly. Thank you so much for everything.Service: Electrical

Joseph and his crew are great! Had an issue where my car would not start after sitting for a couple of days last year. Battery was approx one year old. Had it towed to a shop I used before. They couldn't find anything wrong. And of course it happened again of not starting. So the tow truck driver recommended Fifth Gear. Had it towed thete and two days later Joseph found two wires that needed to be replaced. Starts up great! He also replaced my catalytic converter the other week. Great shop, crew and very fair!! Joseph and 5th Gear were recommended to me by a friend, a mechanic, that I trust. I had gotten a quote from a big name shop in town that I didn't trust. Did the work really need to be done? And at that price? It's an old car and I don't want to keep putting huge amounts of money into it, but I want to keep driving it as long as possible while I save up for a new car. When I got there, I locked my keys in my car. Thus began our business relationship. They had to send someone out to get into my car before they could even look at it. No problem. And no charge. Just a shrug and a smile. They gave me a quote that was almost half of what I'd been given previously and told me it was safe to drive, for now, go in peace, come back when you can. I did. They did the work that absolutely had to be done to make it safe, and because they had it all taken apart, they went ahead and did the rest of it for an extra $100 at cost of the parts (it should have been at least $400-500). Joseph said he didn't want me putting any more money into my old car but he wanted it to be safe to drive. Isn't that what a mechanic is supposed to want for their customers? Well, a good, honest mechanic, anyway.Service: Engine repair

Given the state of my vehicle when I got it from a relative as a gift the cost of any major repairs was more than the car was worth. Joseph was very professional about it and realistic in the diagnosis even agreeing to hold on to the car for another day or so and connect my to a junkyard while I searched around for another car. As much as I would have loved to hold on to it the best option was to invest in a newer car for me. On top of it all I was not charged for anything, Joseph is more focused on being fair than taking someone for their money.Service: Transmission

Traveling south to San Francisco we had a minor electrical issue with our 2003 Subaru. We called several places and 5th gear was the first to say yes to bringing it in right away. I needed to have car repaired in a hurry Joseph was knowledgeable and reassured me he could get in done in time. Getting parts for a 2012 Jaguar isn't easy so i was skeptical. Sure enough he did the repair on time and i am so greatfull. I plan on using him and his crew of mechanics with future repairs. I highly recommend 5th gear to do what they say. I stopped by this shop after I heard a grinding noise coming from my rear driver's side wheel expecting the need to replace something for a lot of money. Joe and his technicians were able to locate a tiny rock that had become lodged in my brakes, and after a few minutes they were able to successfully remove it. Our headlights were out and some places wanted $140 just to look at them and the wait time was 4 days . We stopped by this place by chance and they had us bring it next day . They were quick and it cost me less then having it just looked at. Got a message to bring my truck down for a free diagnostic. We were not sure how we were going to pay for what they would find. When the gentleman came back in I was told that the coil pack was no good and they had a spare one and replaced it and that there was no charge and to have a good. I was so grateful and appreciative. A mechanic you can trust is rare. This is one of the best mechanic shops I've ever been to. 5 star customer service. 5 star labor. Honest employees. Punctual and if your car has a problem that they don't specialize in themselves then they always have th best recommendations for any car related service necessary.

They serviced a 2008 Range Rover (new purchase for me) Joseph goes above and beyond with regards to customer service and providing a fare and honest repairs and maintenance. I had them replace the rear brakes and provide routine services. I will be a lifetime customer.

Not a great experience. Bought a car from them. The car is fine, but 5th Gear refused to deliver the car when the financing was in place like literally every other car place on the planet. They made us wait an additional 5 days till the money was literally sent over in the form of a check.Then when the day came for us to pick the car up, we discovered the owner had driven the car to go to the car auction, and had not yet put on the agreed upon new tires, even though he had 5 days to do it.My wife ended up waiting in their lobby for 3 hours while he got the tires put on and drove it back to the shop.

I was with my kids, 3 hours from home when the engine light came on. I pulled off I-5 and stopped at the first place that was still open. Thank God it was 5th Gear Auto!I explained to the tech what was happening with my car and they rather quickly ran the problem down. I also told them we were on a trip and wasn't from Vancouver, he talked to the owner who said they could have is back on the road in under and hour, and that they did!The price was what they quoted before they started and everyone was very friendly and courteous, no one had attitude or talked down to me, but treated me as if they were genuinely glad I chose their shop!If you ever need work done on your vehicle, seriously consider 5th Gear Auto, you won't be disappointed.

Fast, friendly service with a knowledgeable staff that wont try to rip you off. We are an auto wholesaler whom has to have a reliable, well-priced mechanical shop to even stay afloat. I recommend Joe and his crew to anyone looking for an honest, all around shop that specializes in maintenance and repair.

I had a chip malfunction that controlled my breaks. The tow guy suggested 5th gear as an alternative to the dealership. I m glad I listened. They saved me thousands of dollars by finding a used chip (new ones run $2300 without installation or programming). They were fast and efficient and always in communication. 10/10

Thank you Joseph for providing maintenance and repair for all of my vehicles! I have an s550 and Cayenne... I know that the parts and labor quotes are always fair and accurate... I don t go anywhere else... great service, clean safe lot and trustworthy people... why shop around?
