Dropped my 65 289 mustang engine off for a long block rebuild machine and balance. When I picked it up it looked absolutely amazing. Just completed the install and this engine runs incredibly well and very smooth. Could not be happier. Great Job. Much appreciated. Thanks. Paul

If you like your stuff to look good, and want to feel 100% about what you get back dont go here. I havnt started my new build I had them do the block for yet, but from things I keep finding Im not sure I should. Like cutting off part of the weight on a sfi flexplate and cutting into it.....balancing with a hand grinder.....not using torque plates liked I asked, then have to helicoil 5 head stud holes cause the threads pulled. Would have been caught if they did like I asked. I dont see them being around much longer if this is the kind of work they do. After seeing what they did to my flexplate I wanted to let people know, to stay far away from C's machine shop.

I am a very picky engine builder and before assembling I always check machine work with micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measuring equipment. I have used several machine shops over the years with varying satisfaction. I had Jim at C's do the machine work on a project last year and after a very comprehensive inspection I could find nothing wrong or even questionable. Everything was dead-on! Thank you Jim for a job well done.

I called around for pricing and info regarding my sbc 350. By far Jim was the friendliest and most reasonably priced. He didn't give me "a woman - ugh" attitude, in fact he made me feel at home and was very patient with my crazy questions.

Jim has always treated me great and did top work just like Lou when he owned the shop. I don't trust anyone in the Cou to touch my engine work and I should know I been a Machinist for 40 years so do yourself a favor and have him do your engine work.

Gasoline Engine and some fluid power machine work done right and with the proper tooling available for all your engineered projects and more. The owner is very nice and has contacts in the area that are tried and true as well. No job too big or too small.

They have built several engines for me. The latest is a small block Ford. It made 425hp at the tires (dyno proven) and has sent my car down the 1/4 at 130 mph. Awesome guys and awesome power!

I brought them a 4-cyl overhead cam head to be checked for damage after the car had overheated badly. They did not call back to report anything but went ahead and milled the head flat AND also did a complete valve job. Then they called and I went in to pay and pick up the head. After paying they tell me the head warp had been .126 in. Trouble is, you can't re-use an overhead cam head that's been warped that much because the cam needs to ride on a true and straight flat plane that is now curved! After asking around at other shops and researching online, I brought the head back to them with a simple request: Is the curve in the cam plane so bad now that the head is no longer usable? They answered YES. Either they didn't think of this when milling the head (??!!) or they did not care that their customer was going to end up with a broken cam. That, and not calling for authorization makes this one shop we will not be going back to.

I had Jim and Carl build me a set of 2.02 heads last year. The work is second to none. They are currently building me a 514 stroker. I trust no company more with my engines and componets than C's Automotive Machine. Go see for yourself!
