I took my car here to get checked because I was noticing my steering wheel shaking and whole car vibrating while I drove it. It was inconsistent but happening often enough to be concerned. Knowing it s an older car, I thought for sure it would be something obvious to diagnose and fix. Well, turns out that was not the case for A1. They supposedly drove my car several times over the span of 2 full days and couldn t recreate the issue. I asked if they fully inspected it to see if they could see anything concerning, but the guy there (Ricky/Rocky maybe?) assured me the car was in great condition for its year and there was nothing visibly wrong with it. I was advised to just wait it out until something worse happens, which doesn t really seem like safe advice to tell a customer but I digress. They ended up charging me $180 which I thought was absurd, but I was trying to be understanding of their time. I had to trust their professional opinion and move on.Later that SAME day, I had to drive out to Ridgefield and the car started shaking about 10 minutes into the drive. It actually got so bad that I had to pull over because I thought for sure the wheels were going to go out of control and take me off the road! Long story short, someone I knew offered to take a closer look at it and they immediately discovered issues with the brakes, roters, and the alignment. Go figure. If A1 would ve taken the time I paid them for to look deeper for the issue they would ve discovered this. Instead they took my money with no explanation or help whatsoever.I don t normally go out of my way to write reviews, but as a woman looking for help in a male dominated industry known to rip-off women, I really rely on reviews to find good service. Overall, I feel very taken advantage of and will not trust this place again.

I brought in my Toyota for an assortment of codes popping up. The A-1 team diagnosed the problem and explained the reason that parts needed to be fixed. They serviced my car, were clear with the price, and answered all my questions with care. They were honest and empathetic to the stress that car issues can present. Thank you A-1 Vancouver!

A really great business who took the time to attach the damaged skid plate and bumper trim under my car while I wait for the collision place to do the remaining work. I had people stopping me to ask if I knew I was dragging them under my car. I did and needed to avoid any further incidents or conversation for a few more weeks.The office was neat, orderly, and the professionalism was a great touch to my hectic morning. The time spent there was brief but the fact it was done so quickly is appreciated.

We've used A1 over the years for all of our cars and it feels good to be confident in your mechanic. The people at A1 in Vancouver has earned our trust time and time again with information, dependability, and price. We wouldn't go anywhere else!

So thankful to find this gem!What a great little shop! Excellent service, Bailey made my appointment for the next day..super quick. I had my oil changed, more work next week is scheduled. Fair price, great customer service..I'm so grateful to have found this place! Far better than the awful Chevy dealership I use to go to! I really like this place. They're always so kind, explain everything, and do quality work. They focus on integrity and I've seen that at play in many instances with myself and others. I recommend them to everyone. The customer service is excellent with a small town feel, but big time quality.

Saw this place had a ton of stellar reviews and almost a perfect five star rating, so I went to their website to fill out an appointment request. I needed my back blinker replaced, and it was also time for an oil change. I never heard back. I left my phone number and email on said appointment request, checked every folder including junk, and nothing. I waited about a week and a half before going to another shop (its now been about a month.) I ended up going to Casey's Independent Auto Repair up the road and got quick honest service at a fair price from them. (I highly recommend them.) I understand setting up appointments online is the norm now thanks to Covid, and I understand places get backed up, but I guess this place is doing so well that they don't need, want, or care for my business.

This isn't the first time I've gone into A1, so I know the work is good and trust worthy! They replaced my front motor mount, battery, and did a oil change. I was going to get more work done and was offered a financing program to make it easier to chew the cost which they were very reasonable on as well. After all was said and done, they even dialed back the cost because parts were cheaper than estimated.Services: Auto battery replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Auto maintenance, Oil change

Trustworthy and very respectful location. I have taken both of my vehicles there. I won't go anywhere else. I know they're going to be honest and fair. If you ever need your vehicle looked at or repairs done A-1 is the place to go.Owner left his keys in my car when he did a test drive. When I returned the keys he had a thank you card with a gift card for me for returning his keys. A1 performed follow up service for earlier repairs. When my front end began squeeking.. I brought my Hyundai in and the shop replaced the ball joints without reservation under warranty. Rocky was great! They found the problem with our Volkswagen Rialta motor home and replaced a key component in the engine. It is now running the best it ever has. I found their prices to be very reasonable, considering our little Winnebago is almost 20 years old, and they don t make some of the parts anymore. I trust Rocky with our Nelly , and I will continue to go to A-1 for all my repair needs, especially work on the V-6 24 valve fuel injected engine. I was able to take my car in and get it repaired the same day. Staff was friendly and explained everything they were doing. After my car was fixed they called a couple days later to make sure everything was running well. Office was clean and nice. Definitely will be returning for any future car maintenance/problems.

I had my car service from the previous owner and had a good experience so I was reluctant to leaving my car with the new owners.I had a bit of a problem in the beginning with a faulty part, these guys made it right. Rocky even came and rescued me when I got stranded in an intersection, gave me A car to drive back to the shop AND gave me a ride back home. They replaced the faulty part over the weekend and the car ran great. I was a little shaken up by the experience so it took me a couple months to trust the car again. Now the car runs great and I'm super happy with it. Accidents happen ago that matters to me is righting the wrong. Rocky and Chris absolutely did, Rocky even called twice in the month after the service to double check the car was OK. It's so nice to know that a mechanic stands behind his work. I trust if anything ever were to happen again they would be happy to help. Overall nice guys and high level of customer service and integrity. Thanks A-1!

I been going to Johns foreign auto repair for over 3 years now for my oil changes and any car issues that come up. They have always provided excellent customer service. The price is always reasonable. Three years ago my turbo went out on my car and the owner personally gave me a ride home once my car was dropped off. They also made sure it was fixed in a timely manner. Because of their customer service And reasonable prices, I will always go to this business. Thank you.

The staff at A1 are STUNNING! Like on periodT, best professional service I've ever had with a repair shop. It was done on time and ran like a charm afterwards. I have used John's Foreign Car service for several years and their service has always been the best. They won't "fix" something if it isn't wrong. They do an excellent job and they stand behind their work. Recently, we had an issue, and John wasn't sure that it was their fault, but he stood behind the work and fixed our car. I like dealing with people like that, and I would recommend John's Foreign Car Service to anyone.

Last week my car started acting up. After my lunch at work I went to park and noticed I was smoking pretty badly. Then there s all my coolant I had just put in leaking out onto the ground. I was in Oregon City. I don t trust mechanics much and especially these places like jiffy lube I would never bring an issue like a coolant system to their establishments. So I got a tow back to my home in Vancouver. Luckily a 10 min drive. Which my car was running fine as long as it was short trips and gentle driving. For the time being.That s how many good things I ve heard about this place, to get a tow, to bring it specifically here.Car issues are tough and these days it s expensive. It s nice to know there s good and fair mechanics out there and I think anyone in the area looking for a solid mechanic should go here.Thank you so much again.

I just found out after taking my car into Les Schwab to have the brakes and tires checked that these geniuses had not tightend the bolts on the steering mechanisms they had replaced and that was the metal on metal sounds I had been hearing for a couple of months. I am 79 so I had no idea this was not normal. I figured the MECHANIC would know when he drove it to make sure everything was ok. I also guessed that the $2600 I paid them was fair but now I m not convinced.Service: Steering & suspension repair

I have had nothing but great experiences with this shop. It's not a flashy shop, but they are honest(extremely) and they do quality work. When your bill comes out lower than the quote, it gives you a lot of confidence in the integrity of the shop. I have used them three times and each time I have been very happy.

Al came to my home late in the evening to get my Suburban running for me. It needed a fuel pump and work on my headlights. Had it running temporarily in no time and set an appointment for me to make permanent repairs. Very nice to work with and more than reasonable cost of the repairs. We will definitely use him again. Thank you Al, Bill Sorry, not this A-1 auto repair, I m taking about the shop in Pasco, Wa.

My car started to over heat on the way to work one day, so my step dad took a look and said there might be a fuse blown. Took it to this place and spent 130 bucks for them to tell me i had an old battery and for them to waste half a tank of gas and hold it for 2 days. Again, my car over heats and dies on the way home from work. I call this guy to see if i can get in for another consultation and he sasses me when i tell him i think its a problem with the alternator. The only way i knew it was a problem with the alternator was that AAA told me as well as a diagnostic test i got the same day at Les Schwab. He actually sighed over the hpone when i told him this.If you want to waste your time and money and be treated like a nuisance i would recommend this shop.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Battery

Rocky and his team have repaired our Rialta VW powered motor home several times. They figured out the problem and and fixed it three different times, because a component was failing. This time it seems that they got it fixed for good. Tracy & Ricky go above and beyond giving great customer service. We just moved here from California and they have taken care of our vehicles since we got here. Highly recommend. A1 Automotive has high skilled mechanics and they are fast. The prices are reasonable as well.

I had a great experience using John's for diagnosis and repair of a fluid leak in my Volvo XC90. I was told by another shop that I needed a new main seal but I wanted the opinion of someone who actually works on Volvo. I suspected that I had a power steering fluid issue and John's team concurred. It was fixed quickly at a fair price.
