We ve brought our vehicles here for years and get amazing service each time. They are kind and compassionate, and provide excellent, quality, and affordable fixes. We ve moved out of Tumwater and started going other places but quickly learned Tumwater Automotive is the absolute best. In the future, we will make the trip every time one of our vehicles needs something.

We needed to find a mechanic in 2018, and I am so grateful we found Tumwater Automotive! The first thing I looked for was that they are AAA Approved Auto Repair, and all their technicians are ASE certified. They are a family owned small business, and their customer service is excellent. I brought my Subaru to them for several years and was always satisfied with their reasonable prices.We then purchased a single-owner Nissan Xterra and she had always taken it to the dealership, so we figured that was what we should also do. I will never make that mistake again.When recently the local dealership informed me that it would be $10,000 to "fix" my vehicle, I was distraught- my Xterra is a 2012, so that steep of a bill isn't reasonable to pay. They stated one of the multiple repairs was the head gasket, which is pricey.Well, we brought the Xterra to Tumwater Automotive to see if we could get a better price on this list of repairs.Imagine my shock and amazement when we received a call from Tumwater Auto that there were NO REPAIRS that needed to be done!!! And I had been thinking I'd have to trade in my beloved Xterra to the dealership due to such expensive repairs! (they had been trying to purchase it for some time).THANK YOU so very much, Tumwater Auto, for your honesty, integrity, and excellent service. I will NEVER again make the mistake of bringing my vehicles to anyone but you!**5 stars, wish I could give 10 stars!!**

We have used the services at this location several times. It is now under new management. Before and after the changes we have had excellent customer service. Work completed on time and estimated expense very close to actual price.

It was easy to get an appointment. They had a driver that could take me home and pick me up when the car was ready. The mechanic called when it was ready. Very pleasant experience.

Driver Beware: 5 miles down the road after getting an oil change and safety inspection- where they couldn't find anything wrong with the vehicle, and I get a check engine light. Tumwater Automotive claims it's not their responsibility. They charged me almost $300 for that service.

I have never been disappointed with the friendliness, service and care that Tumwater Automotive has provided.I've been taking my cars to them since I moved to Olympia in 2015!

After struggling with Les Schwab in Tumwater and downtown Olympia it was finally determined that it was my alternator that went bad. I called the gentleman at Tumwater Automotive, they were able to get me in just a couple days I had to wait which is completely reasonable. But they got me in and they got me out in the same day my car is back and running in Tip Top condition thanks to Tumwater automotive! They have been taking care of my car's major engine issues for over 10 years now. I have confidence in there skill, strategy, professional approach, and most of all customer service!! So do yourself a favor check out tomorrow Automotive and see if they can help you out. I believe you will be relieved in a timely manner. Cheers to the good Folks at Tumwater Automotive keeping it local and keeping it realistic

Took my 2010 F-150 in for a transmission service, work done very well and quickly. Dropped off in the morning and had it back by the afternoon, with major improvement! Also got an oil change and that was very well done. Overall, it cost me about $400 for all the work, a very reasonable price, overall I would rate them very highly, and will return if I need work in the future!

My van was towed to Tumwater Auto after I broke down in a storm. Unfortunately I killed my engine but they were able to diagnose the problems and give me the information and time I needed to either give her a proper burial or resurrect. Thank you for keeping my home #vanlife safe.

They did fine with the diagnostic test but the guy over the phone gave me 5 minutes to decide if they were going to do the replacement because they are so busy. After the 5 minutes when I said I would like to come get my car, he sounded heated because he's so busy and had to put my car back together. Well duh, I wanted my car back. I then bought the part myself and had a friend do the labor at my house. Saved me 300 bucks. I understand it cost to do car repairs but your customer service was sub par .

This is a great shop for automotive work. They know what they are doing and they are respectful to the customer. They seem pretty busy, so you may have to set an appointment a ways out. Everytime I've been there they have treated me to a car wash next door. Nice touch.

Tried to scare me into over 1k worth of auto repairs by telling me my car would break down and I shouldn t drive it. when I asked questions to try and better understand the problems with my car, the mechanic seemed irritated and impatient.That was 8 months ago and my car has been driving fine. I got a second opinion and they weren t surprised by the behavior of the employees here.Don t waste your time or money.

This is a family-owned place where I didn't get a surprise bill. It's a place where they knew what kind of maintenance my car needed, and didn't try to pile on fake problems to pad the bill. Not all mechanics/shops do this, but some do....you know, the places you dread going to because you know the bill will be hefty even if all you wanted was an oil change. Here, my bill was actually lower than the original estimate. Yes, I would totally go back.

Amazing experience!! I called to book the appointment for a B 1 service.? The gentleman listened patiently as I explained that my battery is new but requires a jumpstart when left at the airport for a few days. He let me know that would need another appointment.They did the B1 service and fixed my AC and washed my vehicle. Tumwater Automotive is Fabulous!! I have another appointment for the battery diagnostic.I highly recommend them !!Totally Honest and Informative!!!07-11-22 I took my vehicle back for the diagnostic test for the battery. They actually checked it at NO CHARGE on July 5 when the battery was dead.The diagnostic test found no issues with the battery and no draw on it. They only charged me for 1 hour of service. I am so impressed with their integrity and efficiency!!!I highly recommend Tumwater Automotive!!I will definitely return for my next service.

Excellent. Came in for an early oil change. They were very fast and washed my car as well. I think I was there for about 30 minutes. They are thorough and very helpful explaining other maintenance items. I had them do my 60K check up a few months ago and they were much less than the dealership.Great shuttle service as well.Thanks,Susan Mc.Service: General repairs & maintenance

The staff here is amazing! We have a family member who is terrified their car is going to explode because they went to a bad mechanic who lied and said the car needed all kinds of things fixed. We took the car their and paid for a full inspection and the car came back completely clean.The staff was completely supportive and spend a lot of time talking to the worried car owner and answering all of their questions. I have never seen such integrity and honesty in a mechanic shop. I would trust them with any repair even though they never did a repair for me.

We couldn t be happier with Mitch at Tumwater Automotive. We took our Jeep to him with a bad water pump, and that particular part was very hard to find and they worked really hard and got our vehicle done sooner than expected. I love Tumwater Automotive! I had extensive work done to my vehicle and was immediately happy I chose them. The employees are so professional and kind and took time to explain things to me and give me options before moving forward. The work was done well and fast and I left satisfied. On 2 occasions I got a low tire pressure warning in the morning and they were able to help me within minutes and didn't even charge me. They were able to do the same thing for my break light recently. They got me in and replaced my bulb at no charge. Been going to Tumwater auto for years and they keep it honest and well priced. For example today my car suddenly started throwing a check engine light aka coding, called them told me to bring it by and ran the engine check light diagnostic, figured out what the problem was and was fixed in less than ten minutes! Tumwater Automotive is seriously the best mechanic I ve ever used. They are great about getting you in in a timely manner if necessary. They also are very honest about what s wrong with your car. We ve had several that were not worth fixing, and they were very forthcoming that they didn t think it was a good investment to fix up the cars. They could have not said anything and took my money, but they re better than that! I will never go to another mechanic as long as I m in the Olympia area. They re also very reasonably priced as well, and great about calling with estimates and what things will cost before they even start working on the vehicle.
