We tried using parkland auto machine for the first time a little over a year ago. After bringing an engine back twice, being charged each time, getting it returned defective, and with missing parts, we will not give them a third chance at ripping us off. They ruined a numbers matching block, lied, lost parts, broke parts, and then charged us for it. First engine spun all the cam bearings, second engine has less then 100psi in every cylinder. They do not know what they are doing, are dishonest, and do not stand behind there work. I am an ASE master technician and have been repairing vehicles for 20 years, I have never encountered such stupidity in the auto repair industry. Definitely find someone else. It cost us over 10,000 dollars dealing with these people and if you read there reviews I am not the only one that has had issues with them.Update, engine was torn down by another machine shop. Completely destroyed. Camshaft frozen to the bearings. It even broke the rocker shafts.Don't forget if you pay with a credit card that you can disbute the transaction if there workmanship is faulty. You typically have 90 days! Better then the falsely advertised warranty they offer!Service: Motor building

Brandon has been a great help. The guys @ Parkland Performance got the block & piston swap work done quickly. I only wish I knew ahead of time that they could've rebuild my heads. I would have had them do the work.

Great place to have a race engine or a street engine rebuilt. Bill and Brandon do great machine work. I do aluminum welding for them

Same day service on some Subaru heads to help get the beater back on the road. Extremely reasonable pricing. I'll definitely be back for any future work I need. Thanks again

Terrible communication and overpriced.I dropped a SBC marine motor for machine work January 7th. They said 4-6 weeks. I called at the 6 week mark and they told me they were behind and it would be about 2 more weeks as they were working on it. I said no problem, but wanted to make sure the block and heads looked good / workable, they said yes everything looks good. 2 more weeks roll around, I call them and they said it will be done next week, I call back then and they say another week. The next time I call, they tell me my block and heads have too much corrosion to be worth building so they need to find me a block and heads. I told them not to bother and I ll just come pick up the motor. These guys are full of excuses, I asked why I was told that everything was workable and they said that they had 2 marine motors in the shop so they must have got confused. They charged me 560 bucks to disassemble the heads and bake them, shot blast the block and paint the intake ( I never asked for it to be painted ) and remove the pistons from the connecting rods. I asked why would you waste time removing the pistons from the rods on a bad motor? No response. I find it funny I had to pay them that much money when I picking up a block that still has paint on it and now rust in the cylinders from it sitting in their shop. They didn t even apologize, the guy Bill finally said what do you want me to say? We dropped the ball on this one. I didn t even get all of my parts back, they saved the valves, but tossed the pistons and wrist pins. Now I scrambling to find a create motor. BTW I went here because a coworker recommended how quick they were and how they had great communication. Unfortunately for me, I didn t see any of that. Take your money elsewhere!Service: Engine repair

I heard this was the place to go to for a LS build so I brought my motor build here and got exactly what I expected. Honest work and a fair price, Bill is very professional and helpful I'm so glad I had work done here. The big key to getting a build done now days is patience. These guys have a lot to order and a lot to do if you don't have the patience then you shouldn't be building a motor. Plan ahead and you couldn't be happier. to follow the motor build ,YouTube Sand junky there will be a video soonService: Motor building

Just wanted to publicly say THANK YOU to all the guys at the shop. Good machine shops are becoming harder and harder to find. These guys cared about my project which required custom head work and sourcing non-standard parts for a modified Datsun U20 (who's heard of one of those?), and they did it in a timely manner at the price they said with good communication... couldn't ask for more. It's been a year now and the engine is great, makes more power than ever.8/27/23 update: The guys, namely Bill, came through for me AGAIN, solving a fractured piston pin issue and turning things around in record time. Couldn't be happier... thanks!

We were in an emergency and he made time for us when no one else would. I was on vacation visiting family when my car broke down and we had to get a part machine pressed and he did it after calling at least 7 other businesses refused the short notice. We were on a strict time crunch to get home two states away through the passes so it was very important to us it got finished in timely manner and he made time for us. We are thankful.

Contacted Scotty after doing some research on forums and was struggling with an 1986 emissions heavy 1986 460. Left a message with the shop and he took the time to get back to me and verify a few things in the same evening, troubleshooting and confirm what I had issues with no vacuum leaks, fuel pressure, timing chain did convert to straight up timing double roller setup. This particular one is a heavy F350 CC 4X4 and has added equipment on it. Had recently installed a NAPA dizzy and had just way too much timing for my comfort. Backfire issues and couldn't find a happy place for the timing whatsoever horrible drivability problem etc. As we discussed some of the things along with the size of the truck, he had a unit built and to me within a week. Can't believe how well it went. Dropped it in and set timing to his listed instructions and verify max. This performed exactly what is spec's. Included in the box. Test drove it and it's performed flawlessly and couldn't be happier with the work these guys do. (THANK YOU SCOTTY!)Service: Electrical system service & repair

I'm going to hate the fact that i gave this review! These guys are probably the best machine shop in the area! I've had several dealings with them and they are very knowledgable about their craft! The shop looks very crowded, with machine and engine parts but it's very well organized and "clean" for a machine shop and it's been around for years! Now, the reason i'm going to hate giving this review? They're busier than a one-legged man at a butt-kickin' contest, now, and though i nay have to wait to get my engine rebuilt, they're worth it. I just don't like waiting! Lol!!

Called this place asking for pricing on resurfacing crankshaft. $175 isn't a bad price so out of curiosity I asked if that included crank balancing and the guy laughed on the phone like I told him a joke. The only thing funny is how poor the customer service is at this place, take your money somewhere else.

Resurfaced a lightweight flywheel for my Subaru with a super fast turn around. Even stayed a little late when I was stuck in traffic. Would definitely recommend and will be using them again!Service: Clutches & transmissions service & repairService: Clutches & transmissions service & repair

A little slow on turnaround but very helpful and communicative, I brought a head in for rebuild and it took almost 3 weeks for them to contact me to let me know it was cracked in between valves, I got my camshaft back and they took care of the rest. When I find a new cylinder head for my truck or need work done i would trust them to do it, if I wasn't in a hurry.

These guys were open about prices... I have very little knowledge on engines when it comes too rebuilding. They didn't one time try to up-sell me. They kept the costs low and were very open about any issues they ran into. I recommend this place too everyone who wants quality work that can be backed. The prices are fair and absolutely does NOT break the bank.

So far so good. Bill runs the shop, friendly, honest guy. We talked about an engine head rework, there were some things I wanted done, and he discouraged that due to the hard to find high price parts. Glad to hear a machinist that doesn't want to jump on every penny. Was also surprised of the turn around time, I was expecting about a month because he looked busy, but it's only going to be about a week. I'll update after I pick it up and see if he earned a fifth star.

Tl;Dr If you want engine work done exactly right and you're not in a hurry, go here.Long version: They're busy but do excellent work at a good price. However, they aren't fast, so that follows the workmanship triangle: you can have the work done good, fast, or cheap, pick two. They picked good and cheap as their standard. You can spend some extra getting everything professionally port and polished too as they have access to a flow machine so it's not just Bubba digging out metal and calling it good, but methodically tested for max gains. I had a little Honda head get decked with all new hardware, was surprised at the price, it was the cost of just getting the head cleaned and milled at any other shop, dunno where they claim their profits, but it might be small shop low overhead. Hidden in the attached garage behind Baxter's Auto parts.

Took the head from one of my trucks here at the recommendation of my fleet mechanic, they pressure tested and handed it back several days later. Luckily I double checked and found the crack in the head they had missed. No apology and no discount for being down an extra 3 days due to their mistake. They "graciously" didn't charge me for planing the head a second time.

I dropped my block, crank, pistons, and front and rear crank covers off in March and now in September i haven't heard anything from them about it and i have been with out a vehicle because of this. I just want my parts back at this point.

I took my 2007 mini cooper head in to have a new vavle seat installed and head resurfaced they did a horrible job, he told me that they didn't have the right cutter to do the job but he didn't anyway and charged me for the hack jod. If you have aluminum heads save your money and time and take them to heads up in Auburn they no what they are doing and they dont use a belt sander to resurface your head.

Friendly, helpful, mature and above all; KNOWLEDGEABLE staff. These aren't fresh-out-of-high-school-can't-cross-reference-a-bearing-number-without-a-computer morons. Both the machinists and parts counter guys know their stuff. The place has been around for a bajillion years and is the only walk in full service machine shop that I know of who's open on weekends. They get my vote.
