We were excited to try this shop! It did not fail to meet expectations. The baristas were very kind even in an early morning which has been a theme for our time here in Tacoma. Everyone is very welcoming. We enjoyed an americano and a latte with their house made syrup. It was absolutely delicious! The coffees were both super warm which is great in cold weather and the selection of both options for espresso and coffee and pastries is what you would expect at any shop. Well done. They had plenty of seating to stay in and free street parking which made it easy to pop in and out. We would most definitely return!

Olympia coffee has have had hight standards irrespective of the location. We were in the area so it was a no brainer when we craved coffee. What we ordered - Ginger orange latte, Pour over coffeeWhat we ll takeaway - The latte was fabulous. The ginger and orange flavor was properly infused. The pour over was crisp too.

Love their coffee here. They offer 8oz, 12oz, 16oz sizes with alternative milk options (almond, oat) for an extra $0.85. And they have housemate vanilla and chocolate flavor syrups. If you're looking for something to eat with your coffee, this place has a small selection of bakery items and savory items (english muffin egg sandwiches).Inside, they sell a variety of coffee bean blends packaged for you to-go.There are seats indoors and outdoors. Tables are for about 2 to 3 people, which is perfect for a quick visit but may not be adequate for a coworking space.

Legit. My ginger spice cortado was respectably solid. My girlfriend's gochu/gang hot chocolate with an added espresso shot was amazing. Pastries were solid. Cute, authentic vibe. Really what made it five stars instead of four though was how kind and welcoming the barista was, she made us feel right at home when taking our drink orders. Thank you!

My husband and I would drive 30 mins to this location just for their coffee and pastries!!! I hate how they only have one location around Tacoma but we love this place so much we dgaf we ll come here anyway! ALWAYS really cool and friendly baristas making BADASS coffee right in front for you and serving it with care. Coffee is literally always made on point, subtle yet rich flavor and pastries are such a great addition every time we come here. This place definitely has a special place in my heart

One of the staff members, John, was extremely knowledgeable and gave me tips on steaming alt milks. He made recommendations on low acidity roasts for my latte art at home. That guy was awesome and made my experience top notch.Olympia is a big name amongst the area's roasters, but this shop is unique even amongst them. Staff were passionate, used scales, and knew how to dial in a shot. I have full confidence that the beans I purchased will be delicious because I was able to try an espresso before leaving.New wave specialty coffee roasters seem to stigmatize dark roasts. It's unfortunate. I think there is this truism that a roaster only goes to second crack if they're trying to hide something, but I'd personally love to see options at all ends of the spectrum. There are so many flavors to explore in dark roasts, so it is a shame there wasn't at least one dark roast on the shelf.Olympia impressed me with their selection given this trend, however. They did have medium dark roasts, but it was a limited selection. So if you're looking for light or medium roasted beans for pour over, this is a great place to find coffee. Some of their mediums and certainly their couple of medium dark beans will be suitable for espresso. You won't find dark roasts here, though.

The baristas at this location are incredible. I usually get a cappuccino, but I decided to go with an iced mocha because it was beautiful outside. I was thrilled because they didn't make it too sweet - it was perfect! I would love to come back to this location to try more!Dietary restrictions: There are options of alternative milks if necessary!Parking: This is a very busy area so parking was difficult to findWheelchair accessibility: This is on the first floor with a tiny ramp for use. There are a lot of chairs embedded in the floor, which I could imagine make it more difficult for wheelchair-bound patrons.

Ordered an Americano with a shot of espresso , they left out the espresso. I asked them to include a splash of heavy cream, I was directed to the half and half on the counter. It's like they have no idea what they're doing. Got a croissant that supposedly had ham and cheese in it. There was just a small bite of ham and cheese in the dead center. It was so horrible, I went to the Starbucks across the street, and they had no trouble making my drink. Maybe they should spend less time doing artwork with foam on top of coffee and more time learning how to properly make the items on their menu

Probably the best vanilla latte I have ever had. It is smooth, vanilla syrup does not overpower the taste of milk or coffee, coffee is not too acidic. Mostly likely my favorite coffee shop now, just sucks I live so far away, because I would come here everyday. Their staff is friendly and personable.Plus, their pastries are well done and taste amazing. If you're around or not, come visit this place. The only drawback is their seating... Very few options, and are not comfortable. Maybe so you continue on your way instead of staying.

Such a beautiful space, like a little retro sundae shop. Had the season haupia latte (iced) and perfect amount of flavor and sweetness while still letting the espresso flavor come through. Also had the Almond Tea cookie and it s such a fun texture, chewy, but still got a good not-quite-crunch texture on the outside. Good tea and almond flavor balance. With two other people and ordered a cappa and espresso for here and comes in a cute little serving tray with sparkling water. Super cute. People here were very nice too!Funny picture because I jumped into devouring before texting Parking: Lots on parkingWheelchair accessibility: Ramp entryway

This place has great coffee. They roast there own which is nice and unique. The environment is nice sorta of a quick sitdown area with window seats nothing like comfortable coaches but a nice quick drink and eat location. They have plenty of variety of coffees and a few pastries as well. Good shop and company all together .

If you like good baked goods (from Moonrise Bakery), solid coffee, and friendly service, ignore the chain coffee shop right across the street and come here. They'll chat you up while making your coffee and will never rush you (event with a line out the door). Their almond croissant (called "twice baked") is hands down the best sweet croissant I've ever had. Sometimes the baking is unevenly proofed, but it still tastes the same. They do use plastic-coated paper cups but will happily take your reusable mug. In addition, all their bags and boxes are paper. Plenty of vegetarian baked goodness.Vegetarian options: Plenty of (butter- and egg-based) vegetarian baked goods.

Great first impression! Clean interior, friendly staff, and wonderful coffee. Didn't try any of the pastries, but they looked delicious. Was a very busy place for only being open two months - I'm really glad they're getting such great business! I love that they're in the heart of the Proctor District. Will definitely come back again.

I have searched 3 counties to find excellent coffee and Anchor House is the best! I love their Peru as a pour over! The atmosphere is like sitting in a Joanna Gaines living room! You feel Jesus the moment you walk in! The baristas are THE BEST anywhere! I have formed the most wonderful friendships with the people who makes this place a safe haven!

Came here almost every morning when I was visiting. Super friendly staff and awesome coffee that doesn't cost an arm and a leg! I would come here everyday if I lived in the area.

Went in a few days ago because I was passing through. The lady behind the counter was so sweet and super friendly. She answered all of my questions and was willing to let me try something new and if I didn't like it she would switch it for something else.I appreciate the time she took and the conversation she had. Will definitely continue to return.

This is a pleasant cozy coffee shop. The quality of their coffee is perfect. Nicely done shapes on the top. Like in the pics. It feels like a very high quality kitchen in your house. A great place to enjoy coffee and be with your family or friends any day. The workers take pride in their craft. They re very kind and they make sure your covered. Fantastic location too. Great job Olympia Coffee!

Cute little shop with plenty of seatings both indoor and outdoors. Friendly barista. I got an iced latte with their seasonal flavor and oat milk, and one of their seasonal scone. Both were a bit disappointing. The espresso did not taste good and the espresso to milk ratio was a bit off. The scone was hard and very dry.

Great looking shop. The white roaster is super cute, so are the tile floors ( see photo ). Coffee and service were top notch. Even had sprinkles for my sons steamer.

I had an excellent breakfast sandwich and very good green tea, but overall I was disappointed by my first visit to this new occupant of a key corner in my neighborhood Proctor District. Food offerings are very limited. The decor is sterile, uninviting and doesn't fit the District, the place is cramped, and the seating is so incredibly uncomfortable it has to be a deliberate effort to keep people from lingering -- worked with me. OK to grab a quick take-out drink and pastry, but that's about it. On-street parking only -- may be in short supply. I'll stick with the Starbucks across the street.I wrote the above five years ago. Finally got around to trying the place again. Raising it from 2 stars to 3. Coffee is quite good, service is friendly, place seems to have mellowed a bit. But the seating is still "so incredibly uncomfortable it has to be deliberate". Strictly for takeout!

Friendly baristas, good coffee . During this covid 19 period, I do appreciate that there are a couple of seats outside from which to people watch while enjoying my coffee. They do have WiFi

The quality of the roast comes through with the care that they pull the espresso shot. The barista was clearly skilled truly stretching the milk not just heating it with steam. The atmosphere was clean with a classic mid century vibe. The offering of a few sweet and savory treats in addition to nitro cold brew makes for a well rounded coffee experience. Well done.
