The place is under new ownership, and it definitely seems like it's on the rise. Let's keep our local businesses alive! I'm not sure why some people are leaving bad reviews, I was very well taken care of and was informed I am entitled to a courtesy inspection if I have any concerns after I leave. This place is great!

I was able to schedule my appointment on their website and text them about my car, most shops don't have that. Also, I felt comfortable bringing my car there even though the place was under construction. Professional, and great customer service.

I will NEVER take any car there again.I got nothing but delays, no returned callbacks, and BIG surprises once I received the final bill. I expected $1000.00 over for my deductible, but they tacked on another $1000.00 before I could have my car. It had already been there for over a month!When I got home I found out they "forgot" to put the grill on my new front bumper!! I've had to buy the part myself, and it will be an additional $330 to install at the dealership. At least it will only take a few minutes, and I trust them to do it correctly.Nick seems to think if he just talks over you, he can convince you that they are very sorry, but that's it. Nothing was offered to make it right. Not the kind of business I want to support, EVER!!

I have recommended this place several times. But it has been sold. I will never take a car there again. Not knowing it had changed hands, we had a transmission replaced and other work done. After spending$5000 our truck is now shaking at speeds over 40 mph and leaking fluid. They can t replicate the problem.

Screwed over twice by this shop. My family has been going to this repair shop for decades not anymore. I took my vehicle there because white smoke came pouring out of the tailpipe and my vehicle lost power. Took it to Halladays and after 3 days they diagnosed and fixed the problem. Upon picking up my vehicle my check engine light was on and my window was no longer operating. Mind you it was perfectly functioning when I dropped it off. To replace the motor in the window they wanted $400 for parts and labor (the part was only $100). A few months ago my vehicle broke down a block from their shop. I was able to push it there to get a diagnosis. They had my vehicle for 3 days and had 2 different people try to figure out what the issue was. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with me and charged me $200 for nothing and wanted me to pay $350 to replace the transmission fluid. I would rather pay a hefty tow fee than deal with these con artists ever again.

An honest, small local business, ran by experienced Tacoma mechanics. This shop is under new ownership, and it's running like Niel Armstrong! I recommended this shop to folks who don't want dealership marked-up prices, tried-and-true labor, and thorough communication with agreed-upon auto repair.

You would be better off parking your car in my garage and letting my 5 year work on your car!! Took my car here for a simple altenator replacenent at $1300 left with check engine light on vcs light on. My cam shaft sensors not connected and 1 day later my radiator blew, leaving me stranded on the side of the road at 1130pm. Because they negligently broke a peice of the neck off. Best part they refused to take responsibility for it. And accused me of knowingly bringing my vehicle in with it broken and trying to blame them. Impossible. They would have noticed t h e part when they removed the radiator to replace alternator. Total bill after going to another shop to fix their mistake + rental car 10days + towing twice $3700. Small claims court here we come.

They are rude and they don't recycle Called to ask them about there plastic because I'm native and I have a company that picks up recycle and he hung up on meCustomer service no good bad communication skills and they don't recycle they're oil or transmission plastic bottles

Been a customer for fifteen plus years then ownership changed, And apparently estimates are low priority according to the NEW owner.. I will definitely be taking my business somewhere else now.

GREAT service! They gave me a inspection and test drive on a used car at the last, minute, when they were closing! They were all getting ready to go home for the day, but when I showed up with a used van I was thinking of buying, they made time for me. Gave very good feedback, and on top of everything else, they wouldn't let me pay them! I tried! I tried to give them money, but they wouldn't take it. This place is only honest mechanic I have found since I moved. My GF had brought her volvo to 3 places before getting an honest answer for FREE from these guys. I just bought a 4Runner and had them check out some items and again, honest answers and didnt want my money. Said just keep us in mind when you do need service. Incredible. Only place I will be going in the future. They have a customer for life.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I have been coming to Halladay s for about 20 years now solely to have Mike and his crew work on my cars. Honest work and honest prices. I recommend Mike to everyone I know. I took my truck here 3 years ago or so to have my exhaust replaced. They did a great job then and it to this day still sounds great. reasonable and fair prices. I write a review now because i meant to back then. i am looking to get my exhaust done on my other truck and will be returning.

Quick service, good work and good prices. Needed a muffler for my 1998 Mercedes and they gave me a fair quote and turned it around in a few hours. I only paid the quote plus tax. Very honest and easy to understand.

Incredibly kind and helpful!! As a woman, I don't like mechanics talking down to me. The gentleman who took in our car after hours when it broke down was an angel in disguise!! They kept me up to date on costs as they inspected and fixed it, which they did incredibly fast, within just a few days! I'm so glad we found Halladay's. Even though we live 45 minutes away, I want to keep bringing it here for all future repairs. Halladay's is a hidden gem in Tacoma for sure.

After a terrible experience with a competitor, I decided hesitantly to give Halladay's a try. I almost didn't to be honest. The exterior looks a little rough (even shady looking at first glance) and it's not the best part of town, but the guy who answered the phone sounded happy (but not TOO happy) and competent. All I can say is that I'm glad I gave these guys a try.I went in and explained my situation to Daryll, who owns the shop, and he was very flexible about price and service. He didn't try to upsell me on a service I didn't need or tack on extra fees or kill me on labor. In fact his labor cost was half the other guys somehow. He's a fun personable guy who doesn't mind just talking and he really makes you feel at home.My car works great, and he explained everything that they did to it. Even explained the rattle that had bothered me for about a year now, and told me that when I was ready to take care of it he would be ready to help and it wouldn't be too expensive.This is the first mechanic that I've been to that I didn't feel like he was trying to scam me. It's a great feeling to walk away from a garage and know that you got the best deal. I will definitely use these guys again.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!The car has been at this shop for the last 2 weeks and they JUST found out why it's having problems. We have called everyday to speak to a "Mike" and he just keeps prolonging the cars stay. I will update this review as soon as we get our car back and see the bill they want to charge us.The place is VERY slow, and for some reason people like this? The 5 star reviews for this place must be fakes or from family members, because as an honest customer I just want my car back. I would avoid this place.Update: We got car back after 3.5 weeks in the shop, it was a fuel sensor issue. Seems like a long stay for this issue, a professional mechanic should have found this much quicker.

I was driving through Cheyenne and hit some variety of wildlife on the highway. My car was towed to Halladay's. The staff were all warm and friendly and went out of their way to ensure that my vehicle would be repaired as expeditiously as possible. Awesome people who put a great face on a bad situation. Did I mention this all happened 1200 miles from home and I am disabled and get around in a wheelchair?Services: Steering & suspension repair, Body & Trim, Wheel alignment

Worked on my vehicle and they did a horrible job with it looking to be a 2 year old that welded my exhaust. Vehicle started having problems 3 months after work was done. They refused to warranty the work and said it wasnt their work that needed to be fixed. Finally got the money to take it somewhere else and low and behold it ia the work they did and messed up. So hope you enjoy that $500 you got from me. It will be the last money you ever get from me.

I had contacted them on a Saturday about getting some exhaust work done. Set everything up for Tuesday on my day off from work. Got a very fair and reasonable estimate on the cost of the work that I wanted them to do. They did exactly just that and I love how it turned out, and better yet how my exhaust sounds. I would definitely go there again and recommend anyone who asked about them, to go there. I may have to go back to get more work done on my other vehicle. Thanks guys!

I have a Toyoda 4runner and I needed a alternator replacement during the snow storm of 2021. I called big Mike at Halladay auto repair. They were on it the next day with my repair at a reasonable price. Bonus points that you have the newly remodel Flying Boot bar and grill across the street than You Tammi and Monica. Anyway I highly doubt Halladay auto repair for a professional job well done. Shout out to little Mike as well. Peace J

Fixed my car starter and ignition replacement fast, and same day.They have me no issues and very helpful nice service professionals. The manager is a awesome man. The mechanics are very intelligent and experienced. The prices were very fair as compared to most auto shops or Chevy. They are respectful of everyone and friendly. I recommend halladays auto repair service, and they fixed everything that all transmissions and automotives shop didn't do for me or my car.

One of the best auto repair shop everI own a 2011 Cadillac Escalade, motor went down and was in need of a replacement. And normally, I went to shop around my area to find the best deals around until I found this place through my brother. Took my escalade for further diagnostics and was qouted half the price from other auto repair shops. Left my vehicle for 2-3 weeks and was returned in a very good condition. Motor was strong and responsive, handles like it was new again.Even though I got my vehicle back with no problems, they were calling me for diagnostics and check up just to be sure that the motor is healthy, Although after a few months, CEL came on and found out that I needed an oil sensor replacement which is very common for GM trucks, was told to get the part which was super cheap then was replaced for less than an hour, I also mentioned that my AC wont work and they did it for free!. I will always come back to this place if ever my other vehicles need repair or service. I can definitely vouch for this place for your auto repair needs! Thanks to Mike and Terry!

My father in law has know the owner of this shop for years and has gone here for years so me and my husband decided to use them for our engine swap because we've been to busy to do it ourselves. We bought a used engine with lowish miles and great compression readings for them to put in our truck. Instead of them using the used engine we bought they never did the swap and then put the used engines parts on my block and stole my new parts that were currently in my truck they took apart my dash and stole cording from there that dented my hood as well as messed with my carburator and the air to fuel is off and it continues to die when warming up or at a stop light. And now I find out my exhaust was taken which cost over 300 and replaced with an old Chevy one. They think because I'm a female that I wouldn't notice but me and my husband literally took photos of everything before we took it to them and now they just say idk what to tell you idk what your talking about. After we just paid almost 1500 with labor because we paid for all the parts . All because they didn't want to tell me it was my clutch and told me it was my engine just to get extra money out of us. And when I call to talk about it my call drops and when I went to get my "old block" there were trying to close the doors on me.
