I recently purchased an older Subaru Impreza from Chris at River City Auto, and had a great experience there.I felt that Chris was honest, laid back, not pushy, and his cars reasonably priced.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and his dealership to someone looking for a good car at an honest price, without the typical pressure and dishonesty that is typical of used car dealers.

Posted on Yelp and Facebook but wanted to share here too:For starters, I was pretty skeptical about buying a used car on this corridor of Sprague/ a used car from a lot in general. I have bought used cars privately, but you never hear anything good about used car lots.I have to say now I would send anyone to River City and trust they would get a solid car and a fair price. I worked with Todd (the dad) and Chris (the son), but mostly Todd. My wife and I first went to look at a Land Rover they had and Todd waited till we got off work to take a look. We liked it but wanted to shop around. There was no pressure, Todd talked us through some repairs he had done and was transparent. We looked in every west coast date and Idaho and Montana for the specific mode we wanted to compare to the one Todd was selling. In the mean time, I asked mechanics and other people I knew around town what they knew of thought of River city auto. I heard great, positive things from everyone. I even messaged people who had left reviews previously to see how their cars were years later, and they all still had positive things to say (I'm pretty thorough). After a few weeks, we went back to Todd and sent the Land Rover he was selling in for pre-purchased inspection at a very reputable mechanic for this type of car. Everything Todd said was fixed was indeed fixed and the car came back with a glowing inspection. I brought Todd cash and he did all the paperwork. Todd even had a good recommendation for getting a great deal on tires in town. River City Auto is the only used car lot I would recommend in Spokane! Thank you Todd and Chris, I just might have to get another car from you all just for the fun.

I bought my Honda Pilot from Todd and Chris about two years ago for an amazing price! I love my Pilot so much. It is without a doubt the best vehicle I have ever had. About two weeks ago something started happening. I called around to local shops and was quoted between 3500, and 7,000 to fix the issues. I was completely devastated. That is not a small chuck of change in my life. So I took a chance and called Todd and Chris. They were very happy to help and got my car fixed for less than 2,000!!!! I couldn't believe it. Not only did I buy my car two years ago with no warranty, I have put close to 50k miles on it. They we're still happy to help. I cannot recommend River City Auto enough! If you need a great car and good guys that aren't going to scam you, go to River City Auto today!!! I will never buy a car from anyone else!!! Thank you Todd and Chris!!!! I appreciate you guys more than you know!

Needed a car in a hurry. Got a great service from them. Even after test run by myself, they offered to take me on another round around the block to make sure the car runs fine.Made sure everything was done correctly and that I know about everything in the car. Honest, laid back, and do not try to upsell you!A great shop in spokane. Really loved the Service.Car is running superb! Subaru Outback 2011.

Bought a car from this car lot in December. Absolutely love it, the car wasn't even on the market yet and they were willing to sell it to us. The car was very clean. Great customer service, next time I'm looking for a car I'm heading back to River city the next time I buy a car. Thank you River City for being top notch!!

Absolutely recommend this shop to anyone looking for a good used car, especially a Subaru. Chris knows every car on his lot like the back of his hand and makes sure each of them are in tip-top shape before he lets them go. I could clearly tell that he genuinely wanted to help us find the perfect vehicle for our budget, and he definitely delivered. We love our new Forester. Thank you, Chris!

Todd was so helpful when we went with our grandson to buy his car! It's been a long time since I trusted a car dealer on first meet. Todd and his son, Chris, are honorable men doing good business with a handshake. It's very refreshing. Todd even recommended a great bank to get the loan for the vehicle. The next time we look for a used car, we'll come here first to see Todd and Chris!

They sold a car out from under us after we had specific plans to drive over an hour to their dealership for the second time to buy it. Todd refused to answer his phone and then lied. We would NEVER do business with a company like this. I would give 0 stars if possible. Wow.

River City Auto was a great place to do business. Chris and all of the staff were super helpful and friendly. I bought a 2010 Subaru Forester and have been very happy with my purchase, when I had a sensor issue Chris helped me and not only replaced the one sensor but, the matching one on the other side and cleaned my mass airflow sensor. I would not hesitate to recommend this dealership!

A few months back i got into a car accident which totaled my car, i d been on the hunt for a subaru forester or toyota rav-4. i ended up getting a subaru outback from a good friend which then got stolen a month later so knowing about this place and it s super reasonable prices i hurried over. i showed up on the right day, Chris was showing me some of the foresters he had and one caught my eye, it wasn t even on the market yet, had just been traded in and was in super great condition . I had to talk it over with my family to make sure it was the right option and decided that i wanted the car. Chris was super amazing and helpful, very straightforward with the one minor light issue the car had and agreed to fix it no charge for peace of mind. Fast forward to now and i notice a small coolant leak, I call Chris wondering what i should do as i m new to owning my own car and he tells meto bring it on in and he ll get it fixed up, lucky for me it was just a loose hose that needed some tightening but had i gone to a maintenance shop i know i would ve been charged a great deal of money for a very simple fix. anyway, this place is amazing and Chris not only cares for his cars but cares for the people buying them

Truly a wonderful experience. Brought my son car shopping for the first time and after many weary types of lots around Spokane I found Chris at River City Auto Sales and our search was over. Honestly I will be returning for the detail service provided as well as my first stop when I look for my next rig. Hands down one of the greatest car shopping experiences to share. Cheers to much success!!It's that time. 2years ago I purchased a vehicle from Chris. Still continues to run great. I knew I would return for my next potential shopping experience for a vehicle. Chris was a great help from the start. Went in for a Subaru Outback, test drive went great, and I was out the door within 15 minutes or so. Been taking it to the mountain pretty regularly and it s performed like a champ. One thing I truly appreciated outside of the car and great service was the lack of up-sell pressure, which was a great change of pace from almost any other salesmen. Definitely suggest stopping in and checking the place out!

I recently purchased a car from Chris at River City. Great car, had lots of important work already done to it by Mark; Head gaskets, timing, water pump... all the important things you hope for when you buy a used Subie. And a really fair price. I applied for a loan and Chris even took an extra bit off the car so I could get into it with what I was approved for. They're the coolest guys and really know their Subarus. I would highly recommend buying a car from them. And would even go back when our son needs a car.

I love my new (to me) used Subaru Forester. It was a great deal and it was exactly what I was looking for. Chris was super helpful and easy to work with. Highly recommend this place he had a lot of great Subarus to choose from.

Found them to be honest and fair pricing! We needed a good rig that had 8 seats. The first thing the dealer said was that it had very low miles and was a one owner rig with car fax pulled on it. He said he had a quick look over and the blinker wasn't working right and he would have that fixed before we buy it. And that if there was anything we notice wrong to bring it in and he will fix it. UNHEARD OF! The tires were even in good shape. Every dealership we stopped and looked the tires were bawled and the engine lights were on. Not on the suburban we bought. It runs like a champ and the tires I felt were in really good shape. Thank you to the guys who work there that make SURE they are putting cars on their lot that is SAFE TO DRIVE!!! Thank you!

I purchased a Subaru Legacy from here almost a year ago and the car has been running rather flawlessly. Very recently it needed a brake job, so i took it to one of the hundreds of auto shops in town and they wanted almost $1000 for the repair. Chris at river city auto on the other hand did it for a quarter of the price. I could wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone interested in purchasing a car.

I bought a 2001 Subaru Outback for a very reasonable price and took it to Texas and back with no problems. It was an older car with high miles but they were very honest with me regarding the work that has been done and the potential work it made need in the future. I d recommend this place to anyone.

Got a very nice one owner Subaru that the mechanic Mark went through with new head gaskets, timing belt and water pump. Mark really knows Subarus and puts a lot of care and detail into thoroughly checking over the cars they sell. If you aren't in the market for a car, I'd recommend them for service as well. These guys are real auto enthusiasts with a lot of knowledge and were great to work with.

I spent the better part of a day shopping around to big dealers and other private dealers. Chris and River City was the only one who listened to what my budget was and stayed within that budget. He didn t try to pressure me or badger me into something I didn t want. He was flexible on the price and I walked out the door with a great deal. Chris was honest throughout the whole purchase and I highly recommend him and River City if you want a great deal on use vehicle.

I can't tell you enough at how great this lot helped put wheels under me! I've seen them do quality repairs. They back up what they say! I would recommend anyone with no or little credit to go there! I'm sure if they don't have what you want they will bend over backwards to try and find it. I've also seen other used lots in the area show them alot of respect. In business, this is important. Also tells me those spreading lies are just jealous! I will put my word on them and back them up anytime. Very honest business here in Spokane and it's rare and hard to find these days. I bought a subaru impreza from here and i was very disappointed. I am in kalispell and i hardly made the drive back after i bought the car. I bought this on July 27th and it s been to the mechanic 3 times.. not even 2 months ago. He didn t tell me some things that were wrong with the car including a leak in the transmission (that they filled up too much which could ve resulted in a blown transmission), needed new brakes, etc. I wouldn t recommend buying a car from here, very unreliable.
