I recently had an excellent experience with A-1 Auto Repair in Spokane, Washington, and felt compelled to share. I went in thinking I had a major issue with my rear differential, but Walt, the person who assisted me, discovered the real culprit was my drive line. This not only saved me from unnecessary repairs but also showcased their expertise and honesty.But the service didn't stop there. After the initial repair, my car was still acting up a bit. I brought it back, half-expecting bad news. To my surprise, Walt took it in, made the necessary adjustments, and didn't charge me a dime for the extra work. Now, my car is running smoother than ever.It's not often you come across a team that genuinely cares about their work and their customers. We take all our cars to Walt at A1. They are so reasonable, friendly and really know what they are doing. I love this place and refer all our customers, friends and family to him!!

Walter has a bad attitude took my car to get my ac compressor fixed it was changed when to pick up the car got in my car to drive it home there was no power when back to a1 and told Walt my car is not running good Walter to me there is always some going on with you're car he blamed me for his mistake and what his employee did this is the 2nd time 1 time they crushed my rocker on my VW gti I let that go and this time they left the intercooler hose not plugged in all the way that'd why I had no power when I got home I seen the house was disconnected they are not professional shop at all I will never take my car to them any more I will also leave a pics of what I am talking about .

I had my alternator replaced on my camry recently, they offered to do the job quicker than everyone else I called (I dropped it off around 3pm and it was done by 9am the next day!) I was so grateful to be back on the road so quickly, when everyone else told me 2-4 weeks! They were friendly, knowledgeable and they guarantee their work. Definitely recommend! Walt and his crew are AMAZING! They are always my go to. From Emergency-"Help I'm on Freeway and something is terribly wrong" He waited for me to get there and found the problem right away. Staying past closing as I was in rush hour traffic. They had me fixed by the next morning. To my most recent -Engine Light and poor performance issue- Fuel pumping valve "thingy" . Walt checked my extended warranty (He always does) even though it was not covered...this time, he was right on the issue and had it fixed in 2 hours!! My baby purrs now! They are TOP NOTCH! Very knowledgeable and always eager to help. No WAY I would take my vehicle anywhere else! I use my car for business and I've literally sat in the waiting room, hooked up my laptop and got down to business, while they did extensive repair on my suspension issue (which was a covered item-he fought for it) They remind me of my Primary Physician for my Car. The kind that listen and do what's best for you. He also always answers my "stupid questions". I don't know anything about cars and he doesn't make me feel ignorant (unlike the Ford Dealership here in town). I truly love knowing A-1 Auto is there for me! Very professional told me exactly what was wrong with my car and the cost . The quote i received was spot on no gouging. The work was perfect no problems at all after repair. Walt and his team of professional techs are great they are real and they won't try to sell you repairs you don't need. Oh and the front end staff are adorable. Thanks Walt for all you do.

Extremely Trustworthy and Honest Shop. They don't blow smoke up your tailpipe, if you know what I mean. Ask for Walt he will take care of you.

I have been to this shop numerous times and they always go above and beyond. Best shop in Spokane. They don t charge you for things you don t need and will go the extra mile every time.

These guys are the very best in town. They diagnosed and repaired a problem with our vehicle that no one else was able to. We highly recommend them for all your service needs. I called A-1 to get a quote for replacing my radiator that gave up the ghost just as I arrived at work. They were the most reasonable and pleasant on the phone. Lane helped me initially get everything arranged including a tow to the shop. They went over my concerns with my car and called back to go over everything. Not once did I feel like they were adding things on for the sake of $$$$. My car was done within 24 hours, this was the radiator being replaced, fuses, sensors and a complete CV boot. Walt called and was so nice to speak with. I told him that he had glowing reviews and this was, in part, the reason why I chose their shop. My Jeep is running and driving SO MUCH BETTER! Thank you Lane and Walt for making this experience one of the best I've had with a mechanic. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!!!Services: Steering & suspension repair, Electrical

This is my first time using A1. I found them on Yelp and saw how many good reviews they had so I decided to give them a try for an alternator repair. The quote I received was reasonable and felt it was fair. After turning over my car, Walt called to inform me it was NOt the alternator and in fact, was a bad battery, which I would highly prefer . The guys at A1 are honest and fair, 2 things that seem to be quite hard to find these days.

I have gone here several times in desperate need of getting my car fixed! Walt and everyone there are amazing!!! He always tried and did give me the best deal, plus got my car up and working! I last min called and he was booked, he still took my car and fixed it same day. Will always recommend them, this place is awesome!!!

My dad would take the car to walt to get a diagnostic done and if it was something dad could fix Walt would release the car and dad would fix it because of that I wont go anywhere else. Walt has done right by me and mine every time we take a car in.

Was recommended A-1 for some engine repairs. At first I was pleased with their quickness and pricing. When driving the car after it was fixed, it started to smoke really bad. Luckily I was able to pull into a different garage right away. Upon opening the hood they saw that the radiator hose was disconnected and there was coolant leaking everywhere. They reattached the hose, filled the coolant back up and also tightened some bolts that weren t put back on all the way. When calling A-1 to let them know what had happened, they denied any wrong doing, saying they never touched the radiator hose at all. Walt then talked to the mechanic who confirmed that they had indeed removed the house. He had no remorse after saying I don t see my guys doing that , referring to not tightening the bolts and the radiator house. He sounded accusatory toward me like I had an ulterior motive or I had done something to the car. The only reason I called them was to let them know what had happened so that it hopefully wouldn t happen to anyone else.

I went to Walts a1 to have a power steering pump installed, i got car back & discovered it was spraying powersteering fluid all over engine compartment, i called Walt, he said bring it back over a week later, when i took it back i already knew it was their fault as there was ZERO leaks when i took it in, Walt called me when it was time to come get vehicle, when Walt had the odacity to bill me $102.00 to fix THEIR mistake, He then refused to release my vehicle til he got the money from my freind that brought me, this was AGGREGIOUS and i will NEVER use this establishment again, i explained i didn't have any money myself for 10 days

Walt is amazing. Came in thinking I had an alternator problem, turns out it wasn t and was a much easier/cheaper fix. SO glad I found an auto shop that is honest and trustworthy. Will be going to them from here on out. Highly recommended.

These guys are top notch. Another shop recommended replacing My throttle body and another part to the tune of a $1100.A1 Auto Diagnosed the problem in found it was just an air leak and I needed a gasket For a 3rd of the price. My car runs better than it has in years

Walt and his crew did a great job of taking care of all our repair needs. They kept me informed on any issue that would cause a delay. (Ordering and waiting for specialty parts to arrive by manufacturer.) I appreciate Walt and his integrity. An example of his integrity is when I thought something needed to be replaced. Walt would diagnose, advise, and give me an honest answer. He is about repairing and replacing when necessary. He is NOT about throwing parts on and over-charging.Thanks A1 Auto Repair!

After a regular oil change at Valvoline I was told my transmission was leaking a little fluid. My usual garage couldn't fit us in. After calling several garages, A1 was the only one who could fix it AND charge a reasonable price. We will be using A1 for all our future auto repairs. Had a terrible experience everyone was super rude and now the truck I took in leaks oil and coolant which it did not before and they said I had to pay to have it fixed
