Paddled here as part of the Cascadia Marine Trail. In late September, we were the only people in the entire campground (including car powered!). The tide goes ridiculously far out at low tide. The campground itself was clean. Several spots for kayak access tents in a larger shared space. A bit of a walk up from the beach but no more than 5 minutes. Water was provided and a pit toilet. The view is pretty solid of the bay with a small walk and all in all a super peaceful night and happy memories!

Our family has been visiting Shaw since the 80's, and I have always seen it as a magical place. The sand is warm, the waves are peaceful, the trees are like old friends.

Beautiful little island for camping and hiking. I always have the campground all to myself in March when I go. It's beautiful!Dog-friendliness: Never had any issues with my dog not being leashed

Beautiful park, sandy beach, very quiet, nice camp sites. Vault toilets are reasonably clean and low odor. Road can be a bit dusty if people don't obey speed limits and drive too fast.

Beautiful, peaceful. Very amenable to kayak and bicycle travelers.Best for those seeking quiet-the only other "amenity" is the general store at the ferry dock.Restrooms: Pit toilets, very clean and tidy.Dog-friendliness: Pets must be on leash, please pick up after them as well so this beautiful place can continue to be pet-friendly.Picnic area: Nice picnic and kitchen (w/water) area for day trips/small gatherings, right next to the beach.

Beautiful, peaceful park. Great Sandy Beach to stroll along, and trees on shore with little nature walk. We came by dingy and beached it.

Nice sandy beach. It seems to be the only public area on Shaw Island. I wouldn t come here exclusively for this but it was a nice beach

One of the best beaches and camp grounds in the San Juan Islands. There is a baseball diamond a few minutes walk from the camp ground.
