Woke up, no heat, called first thing, and Anna returned my call and sent Ethan out that same morning. Ethan was able to fix the problem, and took a look at the entire system to see if there might be any other unpleasant surprises coming up for us. We learned that we need to be thinking about a replacement system due to the age of our HVAC (just bought this house), and given the outstanding service we got from this company, we'll be coming back to them within the next year or so for a new system.

Bill and his son dropped everything on an icy, snowy day to fix an older neighbor's heat. Great service! Then, Bill shoveled off her front porch and deck! Both Mairs were kind, patient and a delight to talk to.

Bill and his team were friendly and thorough from start to finish!They didn't try to oversell us, and they even helped us receive a local rebate for switching over to a more energy-efficient heating source.We've had our unit installed for about a year, so we've got to use it through all seasons, and we're so happy with it. I called today at the end of the day as I got home an the heat was not working on our 4 year old heat pump. Anna sent someone up right away and we have heat this evening. Ii you are looking for a company that will provide good service and warranty their work after the job is done look elsewhere. First, I called about my heating and air system not cooling my house and the thermostat not cooling lower than 68 degrees. I purchased my home and shortly after purchase the unit did not work (after only 2 years post installation). When I called I spoke to Anna and she said that the warranty was not transferable. I took that as truth initially and made an appt. The day of the appt I had a employee call out sick so I had to run to my office so I called them to ask if they could call when they were on their way. Anna was very rude and said they would not do that and asked me to cancel. I said no I needed my unit repaired and had already waited a month so I would find a way to make it work. Then an hour before the appt I get a call from the repair man stating he was running early and could come to my house now. I said no that I was at work and my appt was from 12-2 so they need to be there at 12, especially since they were not willing to give me a courtesy call. He said that was fine. Then Anna calls and leaves a message saying that they will be early and if she doesn't get a call right away they will cancel my appt. I called immediately and again 4 times and no one answered the phone. I called my neighbors and asked them to open my house in case they arrived early and I headed that way. Anna calls back 30 min later and again is rude, stating that they canceled my appt because she didn't receive a call back. I told her I called her back several times, even leaving messages and she didn't answer. I told her how unprofessional her behavior was toward customers, especially when there is warranty that states it is transferable. So on top of her lying to me to defraud me, refusing to stand by their work, she was overly unprofessional. I asked for the owner to call me and she rudly said I'm the owner and I'm no longer going to do business with you. Wait What??? I asked her if I had it right you inconvenience your customers by not honoring a schedule, you don't show up at all after I took off time from work and had a neighbor drop what they were doing to meet them early, you lie about the terms of a warranty you clearly entered into in writing, are rude when you are given accurate feedback and are now firing me?? She said yes and I told her I would be following up with contractor board complaint, consumer affair complaint, a bond complaint, BBB complaint, and suing them for damages associated to breach of contract. If you are smart and want your money to be put towards an air conditioning and heating unit that will last don't use this company! We have had Bill Mair do yearly check up service on our heat pump for 7 years. He has always been *Top Notch. Friendly, Personable, & Respectful - checking our heat pump in a thorough manner. He has always given us Great Service & our heat pump continues to operate smoothly & efficiently! Our 23 year old heat pump & air handler system was starting to fail, and we needed a new one. Looked at the reviews, got a quote from one company, then decided to have Bill Mair give us a quote. HIs quote was better than the competition, but more importantly, both my wife and I were very impressed by Bill. Very professional, personable, informative, knowledgeable, friendly and punctual. His son Ethan, who is learning the trade, is just like Bill and I appreciated his level of knowledge of the system they installed. Another assistant (also named Ethan) helped with the installation, and it was obvious he really knew his stuff too. And let's not forget Bill's wife, Anna, who is also a crucial part of the team - she replied to my emails promptly. When I called with a question about the system, she truthfully replied that she didn't know, but would ask Bill and get back to me. But here's a crucial detail that impressed me: she said that she wanted to know that answer herself so she would be able to pass that on to other customers who might have the same question. This company rocks! One final point - I really like to support small companies, especially those that are owned and operated by families. Bill Mair Heating and Air is one of those companies. I recently had two ductless systems installed by Ethan from Bill Mair's team, and it was a great experience. The installation was skillfully done, with much care and attention to detail. Having had a horrible experience with the company that installed my furnace I wanted someone good when I had problems this past winter. I called one company and was told, "Sorry, we're booked. Have you tried Bill Mair?" I called and got quick response. Bill is affable and a veteran HVAC man. He spotted the problem and I was back up and running in under an hour. I highly recommend Bill to my clients and will use him again should the need arise. Always good to know who the good guys are! (And Bill is one of the best I have encountered).

Bill and Anna have been awesome; prompt, courteous and professional. Bill is very knowledgeable and is truthful when he's not sure, then he finds out... The ductless heat pump installation was flawless. He helped me figure out the best options for our situation and provided multiple estimates for different scenerios. They even helped me procure materials so I could replace rodent damaged ductwork myself. They went above and beyond the typical service company. I highly recommend them.

We had the hottest day of the year over Labor Day and my heat pump went out. Called on Monday (holiday) and their office was closed, left message and got a call around 9 Am on Tuesday. Anna said they were booked for the day and had two people in my same boat ahead of me but would try to squeeze me in to see what was wrong with the heat pump. Bill called and then showed up around 3 PM, he diagnosed the issues and said he would need parts and gave me an estimate. Today is Friday and my heat pump is working like a charm. Great, great service! Very happy with their work! Will definitely call them again!

I took a poll of neighbors and friends for HVAC repair company recommendations, and Bill Mair won. Bill came out and determined that what I thought was wrong, was not, and indeed no repair was needed. Bill took the time to educate me about my system and told me I likely had many good years left in it. No thought of up-selling or doing unnecessary work. His expertise, honesty and integrity were obvious. Good to know for the future.
