Village Auto Care isn't just a place to get my car fixed they're like family! For the past 10 years, they've taken incredible care of my 15-year-old car. The entire staff has a genuine and caring approach that puts you right at ease. Riley and Ken are the best: honest, professional, and always happy to explain what my car needs and why.I trust them completely because they never try to push services I don't need. They're all about preserving my car for the long haul. The mechanics are top-notch, focused on detail, and insist on quality parts and diagnostics. That helps me feel safe on the long road trips my job requires.Seriously, this shop is a must-try! They handle everything from routine maintenance to major repairs. Their prices are fair, and the location by University Village is a huge bonus I can run errands while I wait!Think of it like visiting your favorite doctor. This shop has experts who listen, figure the problems out, and fix things the right way. They're the reason my car's going strong after all these years!

I always have a good experience at Village Auto Care. My husband has gone here for years and this is the only mechanic we take our cars to. We appreciate how honest they are with what repairs are urgent and which ones can wait. It is nice to be able to drop our cars off and know that they are with a business we trust. A big thank you to Ken and the rest of the team at Village Auto Care for providing such great customer service.

Trustworthy, knowledgeable and truly caring about customers!I have been taking my car to Village Auto Care for over three years now, and I can honestly say that they are the best auto service center I have ever dealt with. Riley and Ken are not only friendly and professional, but also very knowledgeable and honest. They always explain what they are doing, why they are doing it, and how much it will cost. They never try to upsell me on unnecessary services or products, and they always give me the best advice on how to maintain my car in optimal condition. The mechanics at Village Auto Care are also very skilled and meticulous. They take great care of my car, and I can feel the difference every time I drive it. They always check everything when I bring my care in and they fix any issues that might arise. They also use high-quality parts and materials which gives me peace of mind out on the road.I highly recommend Village Auto Care to anyone who needs auto service. They are not only the best in terms of quality, but also in terms of price. They offer very reasonable and competitive rates, and it never feels like they are suggesting additional services to nickel and dime you. They also have a convenient location in U Village so you can browse the nearby shops while you wait.If you are looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and affordable auto service center, look no further than Village Auto Care. You will not regret it. Riley and Ken will take good care of your car, and you will be glad you chose them.

Got a quick appointment to get my daughter s slow leak repaired on a tire. I was prepared for Oh, you ll have to buy a whole new tire but they fixed it quickly, just enough time for me to almost finish a coffee nearby and even gave me the piece of screw that created the hole, all without trying to pressure me into a new tire. Fast to get the appointment, quick and excellent work. I m sold on them, and I hope you will be too.

My Hyundai Sonata was not holding a charge. I used multiple mechanics that attempted to fix the problem and the charge would still not hold leaving my car dead and unable to use. I took my car to Village AutoCare & Tires where they diagnosed the problem and were able to fix it. My car now holds a charge and I am able to use it again. Also, the quote that I received from a separate mechanic at Wrench was $2,500 higher with a bunch of unnecessary add-ons. Village AutoCare was able to explain what exactly was wrong, detailed out each cost, and was a great resource along the way. I would highly recommend using their service.

I really appreciated Ken's transparency and willingness to help. Understanding that I wasn't in a good spot to replace all 4 tires at once, he offered to put my spare-tire on for free so that I could take a little time before getting the full service done. Highly recommend a service business that takes transparency and communication seriously!

Reliable auto service is hard to come by these days and getting more and more expensive. Hidden on the side of University Village is this gem of an auto shop. Family owned business run by a great team. I have been taking my Q5 as well as my Accord here for years and they are always reasonably priced, honest, and fast. I would recommend them to both friends and family. Doesn't hurt that there's delicious dumplings so close by!

I ve got my oil changed a few times and they gave me a comprehensive inspection of the car to help me decide which parts needed to be taken care of now and anything that needs monitoring for the future. They made me feel really comfortable and taken care of and are more thorough and quick than my previous mechanics.

Waste my time! I had appointment for 9:30 and asking fix exhaust system leak, after 3 more hours, they told me I have low tires and doesn t find leak. A u kidding me? I know trouble and u can t fix that, just check my oil level and tires pressure? There are hole with my two fingers on connection manifold and catalytic converter, just need tighten bolt, easy way, cause I doesn t have lift I m tried ask repair shop. I m ready to pay, but I m ready to pay professional mechanic, but not scammers, who can check tires pressure and oil change. No waiting room, no w/c, dirty, slowly. Looks like service from 80x.

I'm not sure how to address this. I feel Ken is genuine, but I also feel ripped off. I am here bc of my son's medical issue and my check engine light came on. I did a tune up and changed a coil, but the fault was still there. I decided to bring it to Ken. He told me I needed a new alternator. After paying over 200$ for them to basically do nothing, I replaced my alternator and the fault was still there. He also told me he wanted to rip half of my engine apart bc it had another fault that had nothing to do with my problem. After doing more research, I found my vvt solenoid was bad. It was a simple fix and less than 100$ for me to replace. I feel they just looked at my dash info, hooked up a obd and charged me for what I already knew. I feel ripped off. So beware!!!

Banning and company did a great job with my oil change! Did a thorough inspection as well, pointing out a few small issues but not trying to gouge me. Would recommend to all.

As a new car owner, I had to navigate not only one but two tire repairs. My luck took a turn in the right direction when I called Village Auto. TBH I was a bit nervous to cold call an auto shop, but a friend s recommendation steered me to the right place. With a quick call, Riley was a great help to get me in with a technician the very next morning. I arrived the next morning, donut and all, for service. As I handed Riley my keys, he reassured me my baby would be in good hands. He even helped to take me to take my key off my key ring (This is a big deal considering I just got a manicure the day before!)VA serviced my car in under 2 hours, just enough time to grab an evergreens salad and new pair of shoes from the neighboring mall. When I returned to VA to pick up, I was greeted with a welcoming smile by Ken, the owner, where he personally handed me my key. Not only did VA order a tire to match my other three, but they also picked the tire up pro bono! Before I paid my bill, I did a little sneaky research for an idea of cost. VA charged me under market price for my tire and service! I was so impressed and grateful for how speedy, generous, and satisfactory my experience that I returned for my second flat tire. I blame Seattle roads, but thank Village Auto!Pro tip: Ask to see the adorable shop dog, Wheatley. He sings.

I ve been going to village auto for a handful of years. Breaks, tires, coolant pump, oil changes, tune ups, transmission work everything has been perfect. Always comforting to have a trustworthy shop for both maintenance and fixes.

Pulled up asking if I could get a quick burst of air to fill a tire. Was shouted at NO and told to go to oreillys. Is it really that hard to lend someone an air hose for 2 minutes. Even if you can t do that, you don t have to be so rude to someone nicely asking for an air hose.

Village Autocare has our highest recommendation! We are thankful that Ken and his crack team of technicians are able to keep our 220,000-mile Tucson on the road. There is nothing better than good routine maintenance to keep these cars on the road and there is no better place for this than Village Autocare. While you wait for your repairs, be sure to check out Ken s collection of UW sports, Seahawk and automotive memorabilia. Once you tour the museum, U Village is next door for you shopping & dining pleasure!Parents, if you have a kid off to school at the UW with a used set of wheels, you can count on Ken to take care of them as he is just down the street from the campus.Added bonus; Village Autocare probably has the best smelling bathroom that I have ever visited in an auto repair shop. It is almost like a mini spa experience; photo included!

TL;DR: Was severely overcharged ($400 for something that was $200 at several other auto shops). They seem to use their generally very positive ratings to their advantage by overcharging customers who don't know better.I don't like to leave negative reviews, but I want other people to be informed and think twice about coming here as I did not. I chose Village AutoCare mostly because it had such positive yelp and google reviews and it is always hard to know how trustworthy auto shops are or how much they are overcharging you.My main complaint about Village AutoCare is their pricing. Based on their positive reviews and "trustworthy" reputation, I took my car straight to here to get the battery changed without exploring other options. To be fair, it is my fault for not shopping around more, because this could've been avoided. But VillageAuto charged me $394 (with tax) for a battery replacement (basically $250 for parts plus $150 (!!) labor), whereas O'Reilly Auto literally right next door would charge only $200-225 for the battery (pre-tax) and NO CHARGE for labor. I also called the Subaru dealer, who also said they DO NOT CHARGE for labor and the battery is $200. This means I wasted almost $200 on getting my battery replaced when MOST PLACES will do this completely for free with zero charge for labor.Ken did call me to give me a quote of what the price would be before starting the work on it, and I told them I felt that was steep, but they did not change the price. Now I've learned my lesson and 1) Will not take my car here again because I suspect they severely overcharge for many services (possibly taking advantage of those who've read their reviews as a "fair" company), and 2) will always cost-compare before choosing a service to avoid paying double.Last, Ken was also extremely vague about the warranty policy when I tried to get specifics, and they said that the warranty was good for 75 months, but the paperwork itself said only 2 years. I didn't contest this because I don't plan to be here for more than 2 years, but it seemed like a very suspect practice.(The service itself was fine. However, after the battery was replaced, when I began to drive my car it made a persistent beeping sound and the trunk door would not open, a fairly common Subaru issue. I went back inside to tell them this and asked them to fix it, and they offered to fix it but said I would have to leave my car there so they could figure it out and I could get it later that day. I was frustrated by this point so I did not do this, and I fixed it myself in <30 seconds, it turned out to be incredibly simple.)Service: Battery

Call a week in advance to set up and appointment for a very simple and quick task. When arriving 5 minutes early for my appointment at 9am to simply rotate tires, they tell me it should be done before Noon. 3 hours for a 15min job that I have an appointment for at a specific time that I setup a week in advance so they could plan ahead for it? After waiting an hour they call to tell me they walked out to the parking lot to check the tread depth and don t think I should rotate them because the tread depths are fine when that s irrelevant because I m rotating them based on my personal preference. Continue to wait an additional 1.5 hours and decide to call them, as I m standing outside their shop, to get an explanation on how a 15min job takes 3 hours and how it s still not done. Magically I watch them drop everything and start doing it right away. I always find it comical how that works.I m usually not a Karen like this, but service like this is just unacceptable, especially coming from a background where outstanding client service and executing in a timely manner regarding appointments is always your #1 priority if you re going to run a business of any sort.Service: Tires

Beware!I sent my son there a couple days after dealer's inspection for some secondary scheduled maintenance. These guys see a prey and go for a kill - created a laundry list of things to do. The way they spoke to him it was super clear they're trying to take advantage of him. The breaks were relatively recently replaced (less then 6-8 kMi ago) and, as additional proof, the dealer gave specific measurements of the rear and front break pads. These guys said the car needs new breaks including the rotors. Found a non-existing "significant oil leak from front timing cover access plate" + some other things that I knew for sure were not needed since they were recently done. When my son asked to do just what we came for, they refused the service all together.I'd be surprised if this is an isolated incident and judging by the number of good reviews, they're pretty good in duping people into unneeded work.I've got paperwork to prove all of the above.Stay away unless you need a johnson rod replaced

The starter on my 2014 F150 went bad. I purchased the part online and planned to replace myself but realized I did not have the proper tools. I contacted Ken and brought the truck and part to Village Auto Care on 6/17/22. The repair was done promptly and I was charged $226.21. Upon leaving the shop, I immediately noticed a new ticking sound that was intermittent and worse when going uphill while accelerating.I brought the truck back to Village Auto Care on 6/20/22 and explained to Ken what was going on and my concern that maybe the starter I purchased and that they installed was bad. He contacted me a few hours later and told me that the tech diagnosed the problem as a warped flex plate and the repair estimate was $2,200.00. I told him that I was not ready to proceed with that repair and he charged me $226.21 for the 'diagnostic fee' when I picked the truck up.I still suspected the new starter as the cause so I ordered another starter and the proper tools to work in the tight space where the starter bolts are located. I replaced the starter and the ticking noise was gone. When I compared the new starter with the first starter I purchased, it was obvious that the first starter was the problem as the gear was freely moving back and forth.I contacted Ken to let him know that I had resolved the issue. I would have hoped the tech would have noticed the first starter I brought to them was defective but I understood paying for that work and have no problem with it. I did request out of good faith that Ken refund the diagnostic fee of $226.21 since the diagnosis was wrong and since they wanted to perform and bill me for an unnecessary $2,200 repair. Ken wanted me to leave the truck with them again which I am unwilling to do at this point. He requested that I bring the truck by when the tech is there to look at. I have been by 4 times and the tech is either not there, had an emergency, or was too busy to come out. The latest update from Ken is that he will call me.I really want to like and use this shop but I have lost all confidence due to the incorrect diagnosis, the attempt to perform and bill me for an expensive and unnecessary repair, and the lack of good faith in returning the diagnostic fee to me.I will update this review if Ken does contact me and if there are any further developments.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Ken and Riley made my week! I unexpectedly got a flat, and they were able to see my car that afternoon to assess the issue. They got me in the next morning and were refreshingly honest about the two routes they could take, with one method that would cost way less than replacing the tire(s)! Fast forward and they were able not only to fix it in under an hour with that method, and were so kind to not even charge me as they said it was a small repair. Seriously almost had me in happy tears and definitely will be returning for any future auto needs. Service: General repairs & maintenance

I always feel like I m not getting ripped off and that they truly care. Am I right? Probably. I used to work as a service manager for Tires Plus so I can kinda sniff out those disreputable twerps tryin to upsell you on everything. I think the prices might be kind of high, especially when you factor in hanging out eating and drinking at u village while your car gets fixed.

I brought in my car for an oil change and asked them to inspect the brakes. They had done an oil change and "inspection" six months prior, as well. Ken called and said the front brakes were not contacting the rotors and the rear brake pads were 1mm. Also, the parking brake motor would need to be replaced. $2100 was the estimate. I asked how the rear pads could have been fine six months before and was told that was because they inspected only the outer pads routinely and this time had looked at the inner pads. In any case, I took the car to the dealer and showed them the info from Village. They felt that this was largely incorrect. The rear pads were down to 2-3mm and there was some rust on the rotor. Total cost was $632. This followed an episode with our other, very old car. There was a sticky fluid all over the engine and a noise. Ken said it would be $3500 to fix an engine oil leak. We agreed that it was an old car and not worth fixing. I took it to the dealer (different dealer as different make of car) who found that it was actually transmission fluid leaking. $1000, and car was fixed. I am puzzled by these episodes and have to wonder about the quality of Ken's technicians that they have so misdiagnosed the issues. I always thought dealers would be more expensive--but in these two cases, they saved me a lot of money and hassle.

Ken Jones and his team are honest, efficient and just plain, nice guys.I just picked up my 2005 Subaru after an engine light came on and we discovered a rat made a nest in some wiring. Made an appointment to get winter tires mounted..After leaving, I noticed they had mounted the tires backwards, and drove back only to be turned away until the next morning. Owner was apologetic but never offered a refund or discount for the mistake and my now almost 8 hours of waiting for tires (already on rims) to be mounted. When driving over 50 MPH the tires were not balanced and shook like crazy. Ended up just going to Firestone and getting it done right. Price at Firestone was only $60 vs $120 at village auto, and about an 1/8th of the wait time.

Could not recommend this place more! When I got my car, I chose Village AutoCare because I wanted a small, local place that would take good care of my car.I m an early 20s female who knows absolutely nothing about cars. Probably couldn t even point out an engine to you. Perfect target for an overpriced scam. Riley and his team are completely honest about what I need and don t need, and always do an amazing job. One of my favorite small businesses to support.
