I have taken our 2 vehicles here two times each now for oil changes + brake fluid, etc. These guys are super friendly, knowledgeable, and honest, and have done a great job on everything I've needed done. John and everyone else have gone above and beyond to take great care of my vehicles. They take care to give you all the details when your car needs some extra care, and offer a great value for your money. Getting my rotors and brakes done on of of my cars soon and will definitely be taking it back to them for the job.

I work for ACCO engineered systems & need my company vehicle looked at because I had a tire issue. They were very professional & worked with my fleet company to get the work approved that needed to be done. They always kept me informed as the process progressed. I was very pleased with their service

My partner scheduled an oil change for 1300, we arrived 15 minutes early and were told latest 1-2 hours already this seemed inappropriate for a scheduled appointment but let it slide. Went to a few local stops in the area and returned at 2 hours- was then told that our car had JUST been pulled into the service bay. 20 minutes after that we were told there was a stud broken and they had ordered a replacement from across town that we needed to now wait for. Finally, at 1630 they told us our service was complete. If you re going to schedule oil changes in no way should they be taking 3.5 hours to complete. As a family with one car this threw a massive wrench into our day and I don t think we will be returning.

Came in for a suspension check-up due to noise in driver front suspension. Told it was a "loose sway bar link" and quoted $300 in parts (for both sides, $150 each part). Asked if they could just tighten it and they said no, "It can only spin so many times before you need a new part." This part for a 2010 Forester is $25 for a two piece set and is only 4 bolts total. It can be tightened (unless I have some special part I'm unaware of) and I can do the replacement myself for $25 and 30 minutes of mild labor. Now my question is, are they swindling everyone or just me cuz I look female? The oil change was fine, but over-priced compared to Jiffy Lube. Two stars instead of one because the oil change went well, they offered a coupon for the oil change without me knowing about the deal, and they have a dog there for some reason.

Using the Pep Boys website, I setup an appointment at 8am for the purchase and installation of 4 brand new Michelin tires. At Pep Boys the next day, they informed me that their day was completely booked and they would not be able to complete the purchase. These things happen... What really got me was that it was implied that it was my fault that the website allowed me to schedule an appointment for tire installation. Once I got home, I found a text from Pep Boys sent 5 minutes before my appointment (I had been outside their front door waiting for them to open). Since they tried, I will add an extra star to this review.UPDATE1:PEPBOY says: Go to our website and enter the same details as above...LIAM says: No thanks. I took my business to Discount Tires the following day. I dont plan to waste any more of my time on this.

All parts and pieces were diagnosed and replaced. Car feels great. This, however, has to be the single most expensive company to use in the state of Washington. Incredible upcharge on prices compared to other locations.

2005 Rav4, high mileage @ 250k.I booked an appointment for an oil change using synthetic high mileage 5w-30. They include complimentary tire rotation and an inspection with the oil change. The service advisor explained the results of the inspection thoroughly. The main issues were my half worn rear brake pads and rotors and my half depleted battery. To fix the battery he told me to simply drive on the highway for 30 mins (this is not my daily commuter) and how my brakes will further deteriorate (at half life they deteriorate exponentially b/c of Seattle hills) and when I should consider replacing them. They also found some small oil leak, a small diff fluid leak and a missing bell housing bolt. They included pictures of these three issues. I paid $120 including tax for all of this. I dropped my car off at 12:45 and had it back at 2. This is a great shop. 100% will return here.

Quick and friendly service- found and fixed my flat tire without trying to upsell me or convince me I needed a new one. Would absolutely look to them again for any other car issue!

Good part:they fixed the car repair asked. The car disgnostic progress is very professional with a well-rounded report. The fix was completed before the promised timeline with great quality.Not-so-good / Bad part:1. They doesn't by default include the deposit I paid($200) beforehand into the final bill, and they don't intend to include this deposit to the final bill if I don't actively ask them to. On the final fill, this $200 deposit (which is defined verbally by the front desk) is shown as a gift card purchased! I actively asked them about the status of deposit and they replied "oh gladly you asked" and included the deposit as a $200 gift card.2. Don't ask this store to order Lyft ride for you like a Pep Boys store I had in LA. They put the ride charge on my bill. Like I said, my ride ordering experience from other Pep boys shops is free of charge.

Incredible customer service. I had come in to get some new tires and they didn't have a set in stock that fit my current wheel setup. They placed an order for me and had them available and ready to mount in less than a week. The labor itself took about half a day. They even arranged a ride home and back once my vehicle was ready.I wish I had specific names of the people that helped me to include in this review! If you want new tires in a timely manner, with thorough customer service this is the perfect location.

Tow service on Progressive Auto Insurance app listed this place, so I had my car towed there after hours for flat tire repair, and left key in drop box.Next morning they called and asked why I didn't make an appointment. They said they couldn't work on it for a week and will charge storage fees if I leave it there.I am having it towed to Les Scwabb and fixed tomorrow.Les Scwabb would have been my first choice, but Pep boys popped up on the app, so I assumed they were a preferred provider.I have had excellent service with Les Scwabb for many years and will never recommend the Ballard Pepboys store to anyone.

WOMEN BEWARE - INTENTIONAL SCAMMING. I will never go to Pep Boys Ballard again. 10 minutes late to arrive to work, another 10 minutes of not opening store and leaving 3 customers to stand in the rain. Then once let in, spoke to very rudely. Didn't even look at my reported issue, misdiagnosed problem. Rude again upon pickup which was double than time quoted. Tried to charge over $300 more for same OEM parts and labor as other locations and not even sure if problem diagnosed, as they just went with what I think the issue is, because I have experience with cars.UPDATE: Took car to Les Schwab down the street - they found NO ISSUE with my axels. The found that one of my mud flaps came loose and was hitting the tire, causing the noise. They fixed it at no cost to do this or even look at the car. Had I needed an axel replacement - it would have cost under $500 including an alignment. Pep Boys wanted me to replace both axels + alignment for nearly $1700, which were not faulty and was not needed. GO TO LES SCHWAB - they treated me fairly and I did my other repairs with them.

This is a grossly mismanaged shop. I made an appointment 8 days ago for an alignment at 9 am today. I came in this morning at 8:51 they said they are fully booked. They said they called me at 7 am not to come, how ridiculous is that? The shop is dirty and poorly-maintained. This is the most mismaneged and unprofessional tire shop I have ever been to.

This place is excellent. They have a great staff and don t try to just upsell you on everything. Ali in particular is fabulous to work with and does a great job communicating pricing and timing. Would highly recommend!

Scheduled an oil change and 4 new tires about two weeks ago over the phone. When I made the appointment they said they would call back to discuss details as the tires I wanted were not in stock and they were super busy. I called back two days later after not hearing from them. They told me to come in and put down a $200 deposit to order the tires and they told me they would call when the tires arrived. The day before the appointment still had not heard anything so I called them to confirm if the tires arrived. That was when I was told that something went wrong and that the tires were never ordered. I was told not to worry as they would be shipped next day and that the tires would be ready for my appointment.I dropped my car off at 8am the day and time of the appointment. At around 10:30am I called them asking if they had any update on the tires since I dropped of the car before they were open and had not spoken with anyone further. They said they would arrive by 11am. At around 4pm I was told the car was ready. Now up to this point I was fine with the fact they they were clearly not on top of things, likely due to being under staffed so I was super understanding.I picked up the car and the first thing I realized was that they didn t change my spare tire, which I had asked them to do when I made the appointment. The whole point of getting the same tires I had on the car was due to the fact that I had gotten a single new tire last year when I got a flat. So I wanted that as my new spare since the current one was of an unknown age. I asked them about it and they said they would retrieve it. They offered to throw it in the back of my car. The fact that it was not attached to a rim I left alone since I was tired after work and they re tech was trying to leave. I was not in the mood to argue further. When I got home I realized that the tires that were installed weren t the tires I ordered but a different model (admittedly same brand). So now I have a non-matching spare that isn t even attached to a rim and 4 tires I didn t ask for. The whole point in ordering specific tires was for a like-for-like spare. To add insult to injury they charged me to dispose of 4 tires which they only disposed of 3 and the cost of the tires I paid are maybe for the ones I ordered and didn t get because the price didn t change from the estimate so I am not really sure based on the invoice. For spending $ 1600 I would expect better service and the correct tires. If I thought they would be competent I would go back and ask them to fix it but I don t trust them to touch anything now and you shouldn t either. If I could give this experience a worse rating I would.Update: Also, the wheel now sits slightly off center when driving straight, super annoying.

Terribly rude supervisor, did not take any accountability for poor work done on car.Asked for a refund and he said yes but that it would have to be a paper check that I would recieve in 6 weeks!!! Totally over paid and still couldn t get decent service. Never coming back here again

First let me saw that I hate giving negative reviews and this is actually my first one. Usually when I have a bad experience I just let it go because I don t want to hurt the business but this place tried to scram my wife for over a thousand dollars. She dropped the car off for an oil change. They called us shortly after and informed my wife that we needed new brakes, rotors, and shocks. Well, my dad and I replaced the break pads literally six weeks ago. We bought new routers but returned then because once we took the wheels off we realized the routers still had a ton of life in them and didn t even need to be planed. The suspension was also fine. When my dad and I replaced the brakes it cost us about $200 dollars for the Durolast Gold breaks, lubricant, brake cleaner, etc. The routers (which we didn t end up needing cost $250)This Pep Boys location quoted my wife for $1,200 dollars.I jumped on the phone and told the guy that I had just replaced those parts and that the parts on the car were brand new. There was a long pause on the phone before the man fumbled around a but before saying that the outside breaks were brand new but the inside breaks were completely woken out. He sent my wife some pictures. I didn t think they looked right so I sent them to my dad. He agreed that it wasn t my car. Plus there shouldn t be any reason to remove the wheels during an oil change and the wheels were clearly off in the photos. So I get there to pick up the car. I was polite but I told them that the inspection results were strange because I made those repairs myself less than two months ago and personally saw that the routers were in good condition. The guy waffled around a bit again. So finally I ask how much the oil change was going to be. Low and behold they price they gave me was significantly lower than the price they told my wife it was going to be but still higher than I expected. I told them the price was much more than we usually pay and low and behold they found a coupon. If you go here, you should have at least basic car knowledge to make sure you aren t getting scammed. But honestly it would just be worth it to go somewhere else.

its incredibly frustrating to be told i need to schedule a tire patch or replacement nearly 2 weeks out, especially when its a tire purchased here a year ago. i'd hoped my neighborhood shop would be able to handle the simpler, quicker things the same day. but ultimately, these guys are doing the best they can with limited staff and resources. and i appreciate them working with me, and my frustration, to find a solution to get me going until they were able to get a new tire on my car.

In July 2022, I took the car in simply for a flat tire replacement. It took several days to service and then upon getting the car back, I was driving it away from the shop and noticed a horrible sound whenever I was backing out and turning the wheels. I drove it back immediately and was told the rotors are broken and was required to pay OVER $600 FOR A REPLACEMENT FOR SOMETHING THEY BROKE. There is no way that I had worn down or broken the rotor through simply backing out of the parking space in the Pep Boys parking lot and this issue was not happening prior to the service, so something must have gone wrong during the flat tire service. After this rotor replacement, I drove the car off and still felt the car was off because things felt more slippery, but I attributed that to the tire being new and needing some time to break in. In December 2022, I took my car to the Lexus center for routine car inspection and they found that the FL and RR tires were mounted on the incorrect wheels, which is why driving the car felt slippery and uneven. They said the last people I had working on the car (Pep Boys) did it wrong. I was charged an extra amount for mounting and balancing to fix this. This Pep Boys experience has been an extreme headache and expensive process. Additionally, incorrectly mounted tires are dangerous on the road as well as damaging to the car.I reached out to Pep Boys customer service and this store. They said they could refund for only the tire rotation (something stupid small, <$100). I said sure but NEVER RECEIVED IT ANYWAY and it has been OVER 8 MONTHS.

Nick was super friendly and helpful with the scheduling process. The staff was friendly and finished my car maintenance fast. The lobby was clean and well maintained. A huge bonus is them not trying to sell other things to me or tell me I need additional services-most women know that this happens WAY too much.

I scheduled a fleet van appointment online for this morning and rather than politely telling me that their website doesn't actually work for fleet vans, the guy at the counter flipped me an attitude over scheduling online. The website clearly has "fleet van" option in the prompts and I was sent a confirmation so there was no way for me to know that. I understand that it's not the employees fault that the website has a major flaw like that, but being rude to me for not knowing is even more frustrating than cancelling my appointment at the last second after I walk through the door.

I had an unusual request to have the flat tire on my furniture dolly fixed. The guy at the front desk, Quincy, was very helpful. He found the part number for the punctured inner tube and ordered a new one. The new inner tube arrived the next day and they fixed my tire same day for $11.80 (includes tax). I have had vehicle service and new car tires from this shop as well and they've always provided me with excellent service. Great job Pep Boys and thank you!
