I had to have my transmission rebuilt. This shop did an excellent job and kept me updated on the progress, what they found during the tear down, and a good estimate of when I could expect it to be done. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the work they did.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

My transmission failed due to an internal water leak in the radiator. This put engine coolant in my transmission. This shop was very helpful in getting the rebuild done as quickly as possible. Every day I got a text update with photos of the carnage. This is the first time I have had transmission failure in 45 years of driving. This transmission had 270,000 miles. If you take care of them and dont let water get in they should last a very long time.Transmission repairs are never cheap. This was an unexpected expensive repair that wiped out our vacation budget for the year. However, Im very satisfied with the service. I now have over 2000 miles on this rebuild with no issues.Service: Transmission

Man all I can say is These guy's work fast and give updates throughout the whole process. I needed a complete rebuild of my transmission, and I was skeptical about having it done or just buying a whole brand new vehicle. But after calling King's Transmission and talking to Mark I figured let me go down there and check out his operation. He walked me through the whole process told me he would keep me informed every step of the way. So I drop my car off on a monday it was ready by the Tuesday of the following week. Mark answered every question I had with no hesitation or frustration.

I had a great experience dealing with Mark at King's. He gave me a clear, up-front price range for the likely work required even before I had my car towed in. His estimate was very close, and the final bill matched. Mark kept me informed of what they were finding, what pieces came out, and what new pieces were going in with pictures and videos. Mark also updated me on progress before I even asked. If you have to get transmission work, I would recommend King's.

2021 Update: That old Truck is running again-thanks to Mark. Yup, we went back after hard working wear and tear. Mark fixed it again! Your team rocks!2018: Mark and Kings took excellent care of a well loved, old truck. Fast, super friendly service and reasonable prices. They were honest and clear about what I needed now versus what they could recommened in the future. They sent me updates via photos both before and after their refinishing work. They were awesome!Service: Transmission

Trust. It s easy to search for a repair shop or get the cheapest price; but do you truly know the work they are supposed to perform? Do you just accept what they tell you? Do you trust them?King s is one you can trust. Straight forward, honest, communicative, no upsells, no BS. Mark and his team took care of us end-to-end. From being stranded on the side of the freeway with a burnt out clutch, to rolling out the bay doors feeling confident that the work was done correctly. So, before you randomly find someone to fix your car, your mode to safely transport your family, ask yourself do you trust them.Service: Transmission

Ken and Mark have worked on a couple of my classic cars and done a great job. They understand classic cars and how to treat them right. The 4-speed transmission on the Galaxie hadn't been worked on in 50 years and now it runs like butter.A month later, Ken and Mark fixed the transmission on my Torino, too. It is running great and they didn't charge me much at all.Service: Transmission

Mark is a very nice and honest man. King's rebuilt the transmission in my race car and 5 years later, it works perfectly. I recently brought my Model A hot rod to him to investigate a vibration and he showed me what the problem was and charged me nothing. He is my transmission guy, always!

I cannot recommend or speak highly enough about the team at King's Transmission, especially Mark. He has 40+ years of experience both working on transmissions AND providing extremely communicative, patient, and responsive customer service. There's just no better person to go to when it comes to any and every transmission issue.I brought my car in with an unknown issue and they figured out the problem quickly and expediently while walking me through it every step of the way and answering all of my questions so I could understand. They also texted photos and daily updates to let me know about the progress and helped me come up with a strategy to write to my car manufacturer's headquarters due to the discovery of a factory flaw. Talk about going above and beyond! In a field often known to be predatory and hard to trust, King's Transmission is a shop that truly operates with integrity. They are honest, helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and surpass expectations to bring some light and hope in the midst of the nightmare that are car troubles. Overall, they truly care not just about giving you great outcomes but about the process and experience for you along the way.If you're like me and you're doing tons of research on different transmission shops in the Greater Seattle area, and wondering if you'll ever feel confident choosing a shop, look no further than King's Transmission no shop has anywhere near the quality and quantity of positive reviews that these guys do and it's for a reason. So grateful to them. 10/10 would highly recommend!!Service: Transmission

I got referred to King's Transmission for some diagnosis work on my SUV which has 260,000 miles on it. They were friendly and knowledgeable, and confirmed what I had figured which was that it would take a transmission re-build to fix it. It really helped me tremendously, since at that mileage it's really better for me to go to a new car. And they did all this for free! Really appreciate the help, now on to find a new car!Service: Transmission

Kings took great care of my car, the staff was great at updating me and transparent with cost and billing hours. Car is shifting better than ever and they were able to provide a cost efficient method to fix a cable linkage. Couldn't recommend king's enough, trust them with any day with my car! (saw a lot of high end models up on the lifts, mine is just a vw gti)

I have a 98 Isuzu Rodeo and was referred to King's when I noticed my car was having a slight delay when shifting. Not only was it extremally easy to set up a time to get my car diagnosed but the customer service was outstanding.Mark gave me frequent updated on the car and provided me with photos on other issues he saw with my car. It was very much appreciated to get a straight forward and honest answer on the issues I have with my car and next steps I should take. Thanks Mark! :)Service: Transmission

These guys were great! They were communicative, finished ahead of schedule, and tailored the repair to my needs! This shop is very accessible and transparent during the repair process, and all my questions and concerns were very patiently addressed.Despite having this repair done over 2 years ago, Mark still took the time to answer some questions about maintenance best practice for my transmission today.10/10 Would RecommendService: Transmission

I did not end up getting work done at this shop. HOWEVER, the customer service I was provided over the phone was phenomenal. I asked about a specific problem that I had for my 1988 Chevy S10 and instead of blowing me off, he let me know then and there what it might cost and what he could do to help, despite its age. Thank you for being honest and helpful!

Mark did a great job! I needed a completely new clutch for my manual transmission and called Mark the Monday before Christmas. He was able to take the truck same day, replace the clutch, and have it returned to me in a couple of days. Throughout the repair he d send me photos and videos of the parts that needed to be replaced and the new parts he was installing. He was very professional and kept me updated throughout. I highly recommend them!Service: Transmission

These guys got me taken care of FAST!! In and out in a day with a hub replacement on my Chevrolet Silverado. Worked with me to make sure I was able to get my truck at the end of their day, and had a great sense of humor about the whole thing. Real mechanic's mechanics!

Mark at King's went the extra mile to make sure my repair was done correctly even going substantially out of pocket when it turned out my original transmission was a lemon. He sourced a different transmission and rebuilt that one without charging me. Many repair shops would not have shown this level of integrity. While the process was frustrating, it was ultimately made right. My repair experience seems to be pretty atypical, I expect the vast majority of patrons will have a much smoother repair process. However, if something goes wrong, King's will make it right. The reason I was drawn to this shop was because of the good reviews. It seems that King's wisely understands that their excellent reputation is what sets them apart and that it's worth occasionally investing to keep their reputation exceptional. They handled the worst case scenario well, which means they will handle your scenario well.Service: Transmission

Great place and loved the people who work there. We went in and they diagnosed our transmission problem for free, then gave two honest price quotes for repair. Once getting in and starting repair they saw they could fix it for the lower price quote. All went well and we're grateful, would definitely go back if we had to! Big thanks to Mark and Matt.Service: Transmission

Thank you Mark! I ve had my 2002 F350 to Mark twice. Once when it started acting weird and then again when it was really going bad. Both times I went there I received excellent service. Mark didn t charge me for his diagnosis which was 100% correct both times. The universal joint was bad. A relatively easy and inexpensive fix. He really helped me a lot.Mark was honest, and he saved me some expensive repairs on the transmission that weren t necessary. He will get my business in the future. If you want an honest guy, he is it.Service: Transmission

Mark from King's transmission definitely does things the right way. My warranty company only covered a portion of the repair cost. He worked diligently to get them to cover my repair as the warranty company was trying to low ball and have them put a used transmission in, King's is above that and I can appreciate that as there is a standard to follow, he offered me options. I will definitely do business with them in the future!Service: Transmission

My service truck had been in Ford dealership service shop for nearly 3 months. It was in the shop for engine issues. Ford continued to get error codes after replacing the engine twice relating to the transmission. I took it to King Transmission, and they were able to diagnose the issue and replace the part free of charge. After the replacement, the error code remained. The tech suggested to take the truck back to Ford and insist they correct the issue that was potentially created while swapping engines. King Transmission is transparent, communicative, and has great customer service.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

I had a great experience at King's Transmission. The dealership had determined that I needed a new transmission and estimated the cost at $7,000. I took my car into Kings to get a second opinion. Mark quickly diagnosed the issue to be a $100 sensor and explained to me where the dealership was lying on the report. They had added digits to the error code so that I could not google it. The coded pointed straight to the sensor Mark found. The shop was at capacity so Mark recommend I buy the part online and take it to another shop. He pulled the part number for me and recommended a shop. The total cost of the repair came out to $200, plus what I wasted at the dealership. The issue is total fixed.I can't say enough nice things about the folks at Kings.Service: Transmission

Mark was fantastic to work with. He diagnosed the issue with my car and referred me to another shop. He encouraged me to use my AAA benefit and not drive the car to avoid doing damage to the already stressed engine. No charge for the diagnostic work and he took care of the AAA transfer when I couldn t be there myself. Very kind, professional service with a commitment to a great customer experience. Well done, Mark!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

My Ford Escape s transmission failed at 97,000 miles two weeks before my 100,000 mile service where they were supposed to drain and change the transmission fluid. King s explained that with this car the transmission fluid should be changed every 4-5 oil changes. I ll never go to Ford for service again!! It was going to cost $7,200 and they didn t know when they could get it done. Mark at King s got it rebuilt in less than two weeks for $5,500. He was great to work with, sent me photos of the work, kept me up to date on the progress, connected me with a tow company to move my car from Anacortes where it broke down. Got a 3-yr, 36,000 warranty as well. I highly recommend King s, so much integrity!!Service: Transmission

Mark & team at King's Transmission were super helpful & accommodating. Mark took my appointment in asap and after knowing my van had to be kept for a few days, Mark graciously kept me in the loop about everything via text, making it convenient to keep track of what was going on. Mark & Team made it so easy to repair my 1992 GMC transmission that I hope I don't have to return, but if I did, I wouldn't be terribly mad, as Mark made the entire experience painless. Despite having to drop more money than I paid for the vehicle due to the depth of the repairs, I couldn't be happier with the results and know that I can trust coming back with any concerns. Can't thank Kings Transmission enough!Service: Transmission

Mark & the King's Transmission folks were great to work with. For a big, expensive repair it was as painless as it could be. Incredible communication with pics going step-by-step through the process. Price quote was consistent with other shops, but the service was a million times better. Vehicle is driving better than ever!Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

I was referred to King's by a shop that didn't know what they were doing and told me I had a transmission issue. Turns out there was nothing wrong with the transmission at all, but Mark was very straightforward and helpful, provided an engine code with some explanation of what it meant, and referred me to another shop that was able to help. Glad to have honest and knowledgeable people willing to point folks like me in the right direction.
