George's transmission quoted me $7800 to rebuild my transmission. People do your research it cost nowhere near that money to rebuild a transmission its absolutely disgusting the scam artists are doing this to people. Reliable transmission and brake quoted $3200 (with 36000 m 3 yr warranty w torque converter) honest transmission and auto repair quoted $4000, TR transmission quoted $4000. My specific transmission (6l80) for a full rebuild is like $1,500 in parts including torque converter. So George transmission is trying to charge roughly $6,300 for labor. One thing to upcharge another thing to scam people.

George is the man! Made room for my large truck even though it was not ideal. Gave me a very accurate quote and ran me through exactly what he was planning to do and how it was done. Pointed out some other issues to pay attention to but did not try and do work I wasn't asking for. He even gave me an extra part he had around that I could install myself for free. Could not recommend George's services more.Service: Transmission

I brought my car to Clary's Transmission to have a clutch replaced. I usually work on my own car, but I don't have the time or resources to do a clutch myself. The price was good and the car got finished well before I needed it. George was friendly and all seemed well.When I got my car back, there were several new problems, including a very soft brake pedal (though this corrected itself after driving a little bit), and the steering wheel was off center by about 20 degrees to the left. I ended up standing there for an hour while they kept adjusting the steering rack. Every time George would make an adjustment, he would call some other guy over to take it for a test on the road. The last couple times, I had to test it myself. It makes me wonder if he even has a driver's license, and if not, why? Any good mechanic should have one IMO.A short while after I left, I discovered that my headlights didn't work. At this point I didn't trust them with my car, so I poked around myself and tracked down a disconnected wire that was causing the problem.All in all, I would give 1.5 stars because the job was inexpensive and fairly quick, but I don't have that option so I'm only giving one.

I was told my transmission needed replacing, so brought it to George's for a 2nd opinion. He found the actual problem (and source of noise) was a wheel bearing and replaced it the same day. Save me thousands and the car has been running great since. This is a place I can trust who won't try to sell me expensive, unnecessary repairs.

These guys are great! After hearing glowing reviews from a couple friends. I called asking how much and how fast they could get a 4l60 transmission rebuilt if I pulled it out of the truck. He said probably a few days. What was diagnosed? I told him it had not been accurately diagnosed but third seemed to be slipping and dropping into second while climbing hills on the highway. He confidently told me don't pull the transmission just bring it in we can diagnose it and probably save you a bunch of money. Sure enough it was just a bad solenoid that was fixed same day!!! I wouldn't recommend coming here if your transmission has an electrical issue (which is hard to diagnose). The guys here were honest and willing to work with my car, which had an electrical transmission issue. What I thought would be a quick fix ended up being a month-long process of spending alot of money on "possible" fixes (new car computer, new keys, a couple other attempts). Ultimately, they did the job, but not without some pain on my part.

My 2003 Grand Am was making horrible grinding noises. I was told by several other shops that it was my transmission and it needed a tear down to find the problem. Rather than that I took it to Clary's. Bill found that it was a left front wheel bearing.He replaced it and the grinding is gone. And instead of $3,000 plus that was quoted me by the other UN-named shops the repair at Clary's was only $500.00.It's always best to get second opinions. Or maybe just go to Clary's first and save time and a whole bunch of money.

I took my car into Clary's two weeks ago, and nothing has happened. One guy told me they were unable to fix my car, than a week later another called to tell me they hadn't even looked at my car yet... WHAT THE HELL! I would advise anyone who actually needs their car worked on, to go somewhere else.

I called to see if they could check my transmission oil for my road trip..he wanted to charge me $30. Sounds outrageous to me. Found someone who did it for free
