Michael was incredibly friendly and very hospitable. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem within an hour and a half.I paid about as much as I would have to diagnose the problem at the dealership, and now my Prius is working great. If you are having hybrid issues, give him a call.

We have an old 2005 Toyota Prius and it started showing 4 error lights and Mike helped us get it running again for under $200.00 rather than paying $6,000 for a new hybrid battery as the dealership recommended.Our problem: The car was running but would sometimes lose power and a fan, that vents behind the rear seats, would sometimes start blowing. 4 error messages were showing on the dashboard: The red triangle with the exclamation point in it, the check engine light, the VSC light and another yellow exclamation point with a circle around it.Step One: I took the car to the dealership. The dealership charged me ~$150.00 just to do a diagnostic. Then they told me I would need to replace the main battery for $6000.00 and after that they would address any other problems that might come up. They would not discuss any details about the battery and only said that it needed to be replaced. They were very polite but they gave me only 1 very expensive solution with no specific information about the condition of the battery for my $150.00. Before shelling over $6K, I wanted a second opinion and more information.Step Two: Then we were referred to Mike of Ethio Hybrid. Mike did not charge for his diagnostic report and told us that one or two of the hybrid battery cells were slightly low and that triggered the error lights (there are 16 separate cells that make up the 2005 Prius battery). All the car needed was a charge on the hybrid battery. He took care of it in one day. He showed me an example of a hybrid battery that had been removed from a vehicle and how the 16 cells of a hybrid battery are bolted together. He explained how if just one of these cells drops a little bit it can trigger all the warning lights we saw on the dashboard and he showed me how he charges it. We picked it up the next day and the car worked fine after that.I was so relieved to avoid paying 6k for a new battery when there was another option. I am so glad I went looking for a second opinion!Mike's place is very modest but I'd rather take modest and honest over fancy and misleading.

Got our 2010 Prius back in good working order when a slew of check hybrid system codes came on and made the vehicle inoperable. Fixed secondary issues related to the braking system too. Would bring our Prius back over any dealer for mechanical issues. Highly recommended.

Not sure why there are any bad reviews! Mike is fantastic! I had a late night battery fail and a road trip planned in just two days. I called around 10pm to try my luck. Luckily, Mike picked up the call, texted me the address, and allowed me to have the car towed to his location. At 10 am, Mike called to share the results of the diagnostic and 2 hours later, I picked up a fully working car-- My vacation was still on! On top of it, I saved hundreds of dollars because his prices are fantastic! So, so pleased and will be back in the future!

Excellent work for an excellent price, very fairly priced battery replacement for Prius, 1st garage quoted us $4,500, dealership quoted us $6,000 found Ethio and they did it for under $1,000 and guaranteed work for a year. I would recommend these guys to anyone who is looking for Prius main battery replacement.

I had a Gen2 Prius with the dreaded Red Triangle Of Death. With the Dr Prius app and a recommended OBD adapter from Amazon, I got a pile of error codes. With this information I called around 5 places the Seattle area and Ethio had the best prices by a long shot. Within two days the owner came to my site and replaced the battery, but found diagnostic errors on the test drive. For a modest additional sum he took the car to his shop repaired the inverter. Superb service, great price, attention to detail, and highly responsive to text messages. He s been at this a long time and knows his stuff for all kinds of hybrid batteries. I m glad I found him.

I took my 2010 Toyota Prius to get it fixed as the battery was dying. Mike fixed the issue in 2 days and saved me hundreds of dollars (thousands if I were to get it fixed by Toyota). He offer lower than any other place in the area. If you need to get your Prius battery back up and running for a cheap price- Mike is the guy to go to. I have had my car back now for a week and driven it roughly 500 miles with no issue.

Battery replaced on prius. It only worked for 1 month and then died again. They won t return my calls.Update 6/27 - this review is real. I filed in small claims court to get my money back. Do not use. Their method is bad for your car as they take your original battery and swap with a balanced battery. This is a very bad thing for your car. They should be swapping individual cells for new ones but they don t. They are ruining the whole battery. It s only a matter of time.

This is the craziest service I have ever encountered. He belong to jail for cheating customers he claimed to have changed my hybrid battery and the engine check light came back like immediately and I have Been going to his place for several weeks with no help I actually talked to his landlord and still no helpplease please please don t try this It will be a scam in waiting it s not even third world countries service it should have be closed like long time ago.Service: Electrical repair
