Like others, I was a first time customer but definitely I'm now going to be a long time customer. Seriously great repair shop. The crew is awesome and they care a lot about doing things right. They even stayed late on a Friday to make sure to finish up so my car was done before the weekend.

The most up-front, professional, thorough and intelligently run auto-repair shop I've ever experienced -- by far! (And I'm in my 70s.) I've had a number of repairs/service (both big and routine) done on my 17-yr old Honda Element and all the work has been trouble-free and on-time. Incidentally, their bumper-to-bumper vehicle inspection is highly recommended. With printout in hand one can easily review any repairs necessary (color-graded according to how critical they are). It comes complete with detailed descriptions, even photos (!). By studying the report the customer can take the time to thoughtfully assess what needs to be done and how soon. I also trust their counsel and judgement because they have assured me many times that certain possible repairs listed on the report can be postponed into the future and be simply monitored for now. In other words, there is never any sales "pressure" at the counter. All that plus their timely communications make for a consummate and reliable automobile service experience.

I've only had great experiences at Chuck's. We brought the car in late on Friday because it wouldn't start and they still had it to me before 5pm that same day. They sent a series of recommendations for updates, but there's none of that high pressure sales stuff going on -- just a genuine assessment of what my vehicle might need. I can't recommend Chuck's enough.

The team at Chuck's is great, excellent service and communication. Their work has always been flawless and quick, and I know I am getting honest answers to whatever questions I may have. It can be hard to find a shop you trust but I know I am in good hands here. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Chuck's Auto Repair was able to take our car the same day we called about a problem and also did the semiannual servicing we requested. They did a thorough inspection and explained very clearly everything they recommended and the pricing. They stayed within the estimate and had our car back to us quickly - in Monday and out on Wednesday. We have been taking our cars there for decades, starting when Chuck Peters, the original owner, was there. The new owner and staff have continued Chuck's tradition of fast, friendly, reliable service. We highly recommend them.Services: Electrical repair, Steering & suspension repair

Hands down the most thorough, thoughtful and personable staff I have ever encountered. They made sure every last inch of my vehicle was checked over to ensure my safety and the longevity of my vehicle. The staff is a cut above all others funny, personable, amazing customer service. Chucks Auto Repair went above and beyond not only with quality work, but to my surprise, they got everything that needed to be done with very quick turn-around. Our total bill was less than the estimate given because a couple of issues turned out to be easy fixes upon inspection. They could have said anything to charge a higher rate, so I was very impressed with their honesty and will absolutely make the drive to Seattle if I ever need work done on my car again. Thank you to all involved for a great experience and a special shoutout to Eric who was amazing (very clear and friendly communication) from start to finish!

These guys, as always, are fantastic! Took car in for regular maintenance and they pulled it right into the bay and got to work. They know I can handle small stuff, like cabin filter and wiper blades, so they informed me they need changing and didn't perform those procedures - saved me a nice chunk of service charges. The whole procedure took less than two hours. I definitely recommend!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Tire rotations

They are the most professional and honest shop I have ever worked with. Once again the best service around. To the owners, if you can swing it Owenand all the employees at Maple leaf should get a raise, they are so professional and trustworthy. I will not take our cars anywhere else. I have been bringing both of my vehicles to Chuck's now for a few years and could not be any more pleased with the services their. I have a truck with almost 400,000 miles on it that still runs like a champ thanks in part because of the wonderful care they take in assuring the safety of my vehicle.

We've been using Chuck's for three years for service on our cars. They are always thorough and accurate with their estimates. When they promise a time for the car to be completed, they are always on time and the repairs are done satisfactorily. These guys saved me! I had a tire blow and then my jack broke causing my car to fall when i was trying to get the spare on. I called trying to get some help and the man I spoke to got me in contact with a tow truck driver. After getting the car to them, they were able to do a full inspection and get me back on the road on the same day. I really really appreciate how kind and helpful they were!

I had mistakenly thought I was due for a transmission fluid service and scheduled that last week. Chuck's excellent mechanics performed a routine check and reminded me that I was not due for that service for a few thousand miles. Appreciated their attention to detail and keeping me (not always the most organized person) up to date on what my car needs to keep going for the long haul. They've always taken care of us!

TLDR; Please do not pay the fees expense on your invoice.When you review the online portal s estimate of work, each service is listed with a base price, the estimated tax, and the combined price of the two. Tax can be a shocker in the end, so that s nice to have it accounted for at the outset.Except that when you move on to the next screen, it hides all of the individual services and brings you to the final price. The final price will be the cost of their work plus a single line item labeled fees, calculated together to give you a subtotal. Tax is applied to give you the grand total. The catch is, the fees are just the estimated tax given initially with each individual service. So the final price Chucks is charging is actually: work + tax (relabeled as fees)= subtotal; subtotal + tax = final total. So that subtotal round of taxes fees is just an extra charge for them to passively collect, and since the numbers it s pulled from were already on the bill, it s designed to not stand out. Weirdly enough, after I called and specifically noted this, the fees given via the online and physical invoice were reduced to $0.00, and I no longer was on the line for those fake taxes turned fees.I elected to decline the $1,782.39 (that number accounting for just one round of tax) of recommended services that arose out of the courtesy inspection. I have an older, high mileage car, but after reviewing the list recommended services, the majority felt like weak, quota-matching suggestions. I do have to give some level of kudos for the audacity to recommend a casual $1700 of work. After declining and when I went to get my car, they let me know it s doing pretty good overall. The service I took my car in for was something I could get handled at any chain name mechanic. I wanted to head to a smaller local business instead. I would encourage folks to go elsewhere. I m genuinely thrown by the amount of positive experiences given here.The mechanics/staff I spoke to were very kind. When I expressed frustration and was definitely overly curt with my tone, they were consistently very patient in speaking to me. The turn around time was very quick and they got me into the shop quickly as well. For me, this was not enough to negate what I felt was an overcharge of my service, the ickiness of the double tax fake fee, or the intensity of the money grab for additional work.

Chuck s Automotive crew gave me a price to do the aggravatingly common task of sticking a new catalytic converted under a 2004 Honda Element after some enterprising soul chopped the #%*?!*!? out of it. They recommended where to source a cage for the converter to save some bucks. The price was as quoted, complete in the day promised, once the other bits were found, and the company vehicle was back on the road.New Service beyond preventing further loss of rare earth metals in a catalytic converter involved repairs to front suspension, and oil change, and transmission/differential fluid change. This poor car gets beaten in accordance with The Tragedy of The Common.What is spiffy about Chucks is that (notwithstanding that car repair is expensive in this town)the shop is in a safe part of town, the tools/work bays are tidy, the place looks ship shape, and your car is back in your possession as quick as possible. The tech s (what was once called a mechanic?!?) have the I know what I m doing look and hustle. Being a recovering Gas Station attendant from the 1970 s leaves a few markers. Clean and tidy matters. Give em a shot, and you can take the 67 bus to the U district while they work in your wheels.1-25-2024As always Owen and the Crew did a fast tidy job to swap out aged struts and shocks on a 2007 CRV Company car. Oil change, brake checks and some minor tweaks. Car is now safe, serviceable and ready ti transport employees where ever their duties require. My car broke down in the middle of the night and I had to get it towed to an auto repair store. I wasn't sure where to drop it off and I'm so lucky I chose Chuck's. Even with the surprise dropoff, they prioritized fixing my van right away. Before I even got out of bed, they had prepared an agreement for inspection/repair, and before noon it was inspected with a comprehensive list of issues that should be addressed. Over the phone, they were helpful in deciding which were the most pressing concerns and we moved forward that afternoon. It was fixed the next day. I had my car back in less tham 48 hours from beginning to end. Competent, efficient, friendly, helpful. Best auto service I've ever had.Services: Electrical, Engine repair, Auto battery maintenance

Chuck's was the first at bat for a non-dealership repair shop for my Subaru Crosstrek - since the bank still owns it til September - and they hit it out of the park. Owen was upfront, honest and helpful when I came in for oil change & tire rotation and the team had the work and complimentary inspection done before I finished my coffee & breakfast burrito at Cloud City! Very happy with the service, price and care here-- about to schedule my 3rd service appointment!! Thank you!
