This is a true multi-generation family business with a real mechanic. Danny knows cars and has kept my Subaru running great. He is busy but why would you want a mechanic that is not in demand? Reliable troubleshooting at a fair price.

So after reading the other reviews, I decided to leave my own review . I had my car fixed by Danny (the old owner, Andy, is no longer alive). Danny found the issue with my car to be a bad alternator, when I asked for an estimate, he stated it would be around $750. I agreed and he was supposed to start working on my car. It was over a week and I decided to call and check the status of my car (I rarely drive since I live in the city). He told me that he hasn t started working on it, but he will soon and he would give me a call.Almost another week later, I call again to check on the status of my car, apparently he had the battery unhooked but still hasn t started replacing my alternator. I have an IIG, and I told him it could be a problem as I may get a lockout on my vehicle. Thankfully he started working on it after I told him that. He calls 2 days later and said he was finished, then he stated that he also replaced two other belts (an ac belt and something else). He stated that they are hard to reach and it was convenient since he was replacing the alternator. My car is an old 2003 Infiniti, and not worth over $3.5k total. All in all, the job was completed and he charged me $1,450. He got the job completed but charged for extra work that I never asked for or never agreed on before hand.

To quote my neighbor, who was also ripped off here, "Once he has your car, Danny (the owner) is a master at finding ways to jack up the price. Then he has your car hostage until you pay."I had a TERRIBLE experience at Andy's at the hands of the now-owner, Danny. (His father, Andy, died a year ago and now Danny runs the shop.) I went in for a timing belt replacement. Quote was $800 - $1,000, "a couple of days" before the car would be ready. Parts were "on hand already".20 days later (!!!) I went to the shop in person, fed up with endless excuses and prepared to have my car towed to a different shop. Final bill: $1,836. And now my car has a set of problems it didn't have when I brought it in.Danny had indeed found numerous ways to jack up the price above and beyond replacing the timing belt... WITHOUT ASKING FOR APPROVAL. He claimed to have changed the "dirty" oil. (I did that myself less than 100 miles ago. It certainly did not need changing again.) He replaced the battery. (!!!!!!! I was not having any battery problems, even in very cold weather.) He "went ahead and did a tuneup." (The car ran very well and did not need a tuneup, only a timing belt replacement at the factory recommended interval.) He replaced the fuel filter because the old one was "filthy." (The fuel filter was less than a year old, the car had no symptoms of fuel starvation and the filter housing is metal so there is no way Danny could have known whether the filter inside was clean or dirty.) He even changed the brake fluid and adjusted the parking brake; what those have to do with a timing belt replacement I can't even begin to imagine. He was about to change the "really dirty" transmission fluid when I showed up in person and stopped him. (It, too, had been changed less than 100 miles prior.)During a heated discussion Danny tried guilt and he tried playing the sympathy card in order to get me to pay for the unapproved and/or unnecessary work... in hindsight, he was performing a well-practiced script; pile on the additional charges and see what he could get away with. He eventually figured out that a) I wasn't about to pay for unauthorized repairs, and b) I know enough about cars and car repair to know when I'm being lied to. Long story short, I left after only paying for the timing belt replacement and two additional repairs that surfaced during the timing belt replacement which I *had* approved. The story doesn't end there. Now my car has a shuddering rattle when in gear at idle, a high-pitched whine comes from the engine at medium engine speeds, the engine/coolant temperature is erratic and the engine smells like burning rubber. (None of these problems existed before Danny "fixed" my car.) I have to take it to another shop to find out what is going on, to have these new problems fixed, and to have a mechanic verify that Danny actually did the work I paid him to do since I have completely lost confidence in his integrity. All in all, I can't possibly recommend this shop to anyone. Make sure you read the Google review by "John Maxey"; his experiences with Danny were nearly identical to mine.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair, Brakes, Auto maintenance, Battery, Oil change

My issue was my head and taillights kept randomly turning on when the car was off and parked, making my battery die whether at home or away. Carter Subaru wanted to replace battery, all lights, and other repairs. These mechanics fixed my issue by watching my car all day then simply tightening my brake pedal. Honest, trustworthy, and didn t charge me! I have used their services ever since.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Battery

Very cozy small business. The mechanic's mom chatted with her friend about growing up in Ethiopia, holiday present ideas, and the friend's dog while I waited. The prices were reasonable, the mechanic worked fast and was very polite, AND when I left, I had a craving for injera

Best auto repair shop I've been in Seattle! The owner was really thoughtful and tried his very best to help me with my car. He was the ONLY one in the area to fit me in on short notice. Gave me a buyer's inspection and explained everything to me in simple terms and was really, really nice! I appreciate your service more than you know. Thank you very much! Wish you all the success in the world

Avoid this place. Very, very dishonest business practices.I brought my car in for an inspection. I was quoted $70. I got a call a few hours later and they told me the brakes were harder to inspect than he thought because the rears were drum brakes (this is pretty standard for a 2012 economy car) and he had to remove the drum (Again, easy standard, normal and would be included for any basic inspection). He said the plastic splash guard under the car needed to be buttoned up b/c it was hanging down. There was never a "go or no-go" question posed to me and no quote or estimate for any additional work. It just seemed like an update. When I got there to pick it up I was presented with a $284 invoice. I was floored. $88 to secure the splash guard plus $48.88 for "clips" to do this. Just making up numbers...lots of 8s. I seriously couldn't believe it. I was told it was a safety issue and he couldn't allow the car to leave without it. I thought about calling the police, but why waste more time and resources - they'd laugh anyway. He backed the invoice down to $220 then ran my card. He saw how I was just silent and dumbfounded, no bad noise no yelling, just at a loss for any words. He said he'd throw in a free oil change whenever I need it. Later, after I left, he called me and said he'd take another $30 off. At this point all the back pedaling was almost equally as strange as all the fiction. I accepted the $30, again at a loss for words. Do I say thank you for a $190 final total when the agreement was $70?These guys are operating on an old scammer methodology and I feel bad for what I'm sure are countless numbers of people getting scammed that either don't know well enough or don't know how to warn others. BEWARE.

Andy's was our "go to" shop for our Subarus for years. We moved away, but needed to have repairs on a family member's Subaru and they are as solid as ever. Superb and thorough service, fair pricing, and friendly, thoughtful staff. Bring your car here, you will not be disappointed.

They inspected my Ford f150 before I purchased it. I was recommended to go to Andy's by a oil & brake mechanic in the area, telling me that Andy does a "good job".It's a family owned business and every member answered all my questions fully and informatively and did a thorough job with the inspection. I'm returning to them in future.

Danny and Andy are one of a kind here in Seattle. They took care of my 2000 Outback wonderfully, answered my onslaught of questions as to what the process was or concerns I had and had my car back to me in no time. If you are looking for a solid mechanic in the area that doesn't overcharge for the work they do, pick Andy's Auto on Aurora.Services: Transmission, Exhaust, General repairs & maintenance

Good price, good service. However, after securing my business, the owner made comments, without prompting, regarding politics. He offered his stance on Ilhan Omar, from Minnesota, the first Somali-American woman to hold congressional office. Said she was terrible, that Somalia is a terrible place, and that she is trying to make America like her homeland. He does his work and pays his taxes, and she is a terrible person. Why say this? He sounded hateful, beyond political boundaries, and offered no opinions as to why she was bad other than her race. Definitely lost my business in the future.Service: Oil change
