Fabulous!We wasted 3 weeks waiting on another recommended transmission shop to discuss it with our insurance only to say We don t work on that type of transmission. Then we found Chris with Aamco on 23rd Ave S. Amazing! He was so kind and knowledgeable. Within a couple of days he had the insurance adjuster out to take a look. 2 days to get the claim approved, and two or 3 days later the car was ready. The car is running great. Chris, the owner, is totally straight up. He does exactly what he says he will do, at times more. We could not recommend anyone better.

Chris and the team here are great!! They are very communicative, polite, and respect what I have to say and actually listen to my concerns. Just had my timing belt replaced plus some other work, and he made sure I was fully informed throughout the process. Trustworthy and speedy!

I had the transmission rebuilt on my Ford Transit here. They did a fantastic job and provided excellent service along the way. Chris the owner was great to work with and very communicative. I can't say how they compare on price with others but the total for the job seemed reasonable. I would certainly return here for other work in the future.

These guys are great and they ve done great work on my manual mini. Super professional service and Chris especially does a great job of explaining what s going on with my car and how it s fixed. 5 stars, would definitely recommend for regular service and acute issues.

I live in green lake and I bring my car all the way here because I trust the owner, Chris, and his mechanics. Chris is fair, honest, professional, and kind, and very good at explaining what is happening with your car! I've brought cars here over the last 3 years for basic maintenance and for a transmission re-build, I'm very happy with the work. Thank you Chris and team!

Chris and the other guys here have been my go-to mechanic for several years now, they're very transparent and fast. They always give me a call to discuss what they think is wrong and what my options/their respective costs are before going ahead with repairs. Highly recommend!

I called with a question about a noise coming from under the hood, where they were very helpful and told me to come in to take a look. I was greeted by the owner who I believe was named Chris and helped by a newer gentleman who I believe was named Mike. Very helpful and knowledgeable. I would definitely go back and trust them with caring for my car! Thank you again!

This is one of the few places I would take my car. Having worked on cars my whole life, I had never had to use a shop before, until going through a warranty company and being required to. Chris, the owner of this Aamco, was amazing through this whole difficult process with the warranty company and got my ms3 fixed properly. Don't hesitate to come here!

Only time in my life I have ever felt the need to post a review. When everyone (including mechanics) says the industry is messed up, it is because of places like this. Please make sure to get your estimates in *writing* before agreeing to work being done.

I was trying to get Oil Chang for a week and they all made me wait a week but I called and Mark got me in 30 minutes after I called took like 30 minutes I recommend trying this place out.

Scam facility. I brought my car into this facility for a non-working a/c. My local repair facility put freon in which did not correct problem long term. We have American Auto Shield and AAMCO is one of their 'preferred repair facilities." I made apt. and brought the car in initially on April 12, 2023. Wrote down that prior freon recharge did not fix problem. On April 14, 2023 Chris Kim, mgr. called that car was ready. They had done a visual a/c check, evacuate the old refrigerant and recharged system. Cost to us $357.20. Parts and labor warranty for 12 months/12,000 miles.Within a month when the weather warmed up it was evident the a/c was not working. Called and yes, they still accept American Auto Shield. I dropped car off June 14, 2023 and again wrote that they had not fixed problem in April. On June 20,2023 at 10:39 am I called to check on status. Chris, Mgr, stated he was on phone with American Auto Shield. He called me back at 11:21 to inform that all but $100 deductible, sales tax, and incidentials were being covered by American Auto Shield (AAS). He quoted my remaining balance. The car was finally ready at about 3 pm on June 23, 2023. When we got car the $ amounts on the invoice just didn't match up. Chris said "call AAS" which I did on June 28th. The car warranty covered the compressor charge of $321.23 but Chris insisted on installing one and billing $597.93. The car warranty representative said Chris had informed me of the difference and I agreed to pay!!! Really, I'd pay $276.70 extra. They also refused to honor their warranty and refund the $357.20 from the April 'non-repair.' So we are out of luck and out of pocket more than $640 because of their scam, incompetence and unethical practices.

The service was very quick and detailed. I appreciated receiving an itemized receipt that showed and explained where my dollars were going. I especially appreciated the timeliness of the work completed since I had two kids with me! I was in and out in about an hour and a half. Transmission is perfect now and the oil change gave the car new life. Mr. Terrence is very understanding, knowledgeable, and WILL provide you with the best advice for your needs. The mechanics are also very professional and thorough. They double check to make sure that they are providing you with the work you came in for.

First off, all my phone calls with Terrance before bringing my car in were great! He was very helpful and patient as I explained what was going on with my car, fearing I was starting to have major transmission problems. Then when I brought my car in, they were fabulous. I have a Volvo and they are not made such that you can easily check or add transmission fluid yourself. Turned out I was practically out of transmission fluid after my previous mechanic of 15 years had changed it just 6 weeks ago. Terrance also went over other recommended maintenance and it was all stuff that I expected as well (brakes, tune up to address idling and turbo sluggishness). My car drives great now, no more gear slipping and chunking, and all it took was the relatively inexpensive fluid change (done properly this time). I have found a new, trustworthy, reasonably priced mechanic!!Service: Transmission

Definitely check them out next time you need some work done.I brought my vehicle in because I was getting a thud noise when I shifted into gear occasionally. The transmission is in a sealed compartment and I couldn't check the fluid myself. I purchased the truck 6 months ago and wasn't sure what the maintenance record was and I had already been concerned and wondering if the transmission fluid had been changed. After I did my research it seemed that the thud was directly related. I had a few other standard maintenance points I wanted to ask about, but they were not my primary concern.Terrence helped determine that I needed a transmission flush and recommended the vehicle tuneup as part of the standard service required for my mileage. I was able to secure financing on the spot and they offered to do all the services while they had the truck. The price was fair and the services offered were needed and I'm glad that he followed up with his recommendations. Terrence was great to work with and when I came to pick up the truck it was purring like a kitten and no more thud!

If I could give AAMCO 100/10 stars, I would. To say that Terrance went above and beyond doesn t even begin to cover the kindness he showed me when my Jeep engine blew. He really went out of his way to make me feel taken care of! Chris is also so wonderful to work with, and even stayed on the phone 20 minutes after closing to help me settle up (sorry Chris!) and figure out next steps. These folks are amazing at what they do, and I ll absolutely recommend them moving forward with any work I might need! I appreciate it to no end!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Chris and the team are up to date, honest and truthful. This was my second visit for my beautiful, older BMW. The first visit was an excellent repair job that was economical and gave me another 2 wonderful years. The final visit wasn't the news I wanted but it was accurate--the repairs were more than the car was worth. Who knew you could get small town compassion right here in Rainier Valley?Service: Transmission

Terrance in the front office is professional, friendly, and helpful. From the first time I spoke to him over the phone he was a delight. Though there were some issues with getting my phone number correctly written down, so I never received any notification calls or texts, and had to call back myself both times to find out what was happening with my car.What my car needed was really expensive so Terrance offered plenty of advice about available options. I got my car fixed up at the Everett location and they did great work, but Ford Focus were made with faulty transmissions and I had to bring it to the Seattle location to be checked out since I'm too far from Everett. There are two gentlemen who are both named Chris and they were so incredibly kind and helpful. They did their absolute best to help me with my car and took extra time to give it attention in an attempt to figure out what the problem was. I definitely recommend this location. Aamco in Seattle on 23rd with Terrance at the helm is THE place to take your vehicle. My check engine light was on, I had already had an incident with my vehicle overheating and had taken it in twice to Firestone. They told me the only thing wrong was the battery for my check engine light sensor needed replacing.I took my vehicle in to Aamco and they were able to find the issue...my thermostat and hoses (strange how that might be related to overheating issues!?). They did the lords work with my car!!! Another dealership quoted me for $7000 when I was able to have my purge valve fixed for only a few hundred through AAMCO. Shoutout to the manager for being really supportive throughout the whole process!

Chris Lee and his staff took excellent care of me and my car. I was lucky enough to break down in the middle of the night outside Chris's shop. The next morning, he and his tech got right on it. They did their utmost to make sure my family car would be roadworthy in time for Thanksgiving, and the price I paid was very fair. I will be sending lots of business their way as I now trust them to take good care of my vehicles as well as those of my friends and family. If your vehicle needs repair, definitely take it to Chris Lee AAMCO!

Not exactly affordable like they claim.But they do good work.*I felt a little pushed into having my car repaired there even though that is where I had it towed. I just knew it needed to be fixed. The bill to replace 2 axles is more than a bit steep at +1200 dollars seeing how I personally had replaced them once already 3months ago in July.I was supposed to receive a call back after the individual spoke to his boss (the owner) which I'm guessing chose not to call today since there was no call to let me know if my request for a payment plan was approved.All in all they do good work but the customer service is seriously lacking. I'm pretty upset about not receiving a call.

This place is the best mechanic shop I have ever dealt with in my entire life. They are the most honest people I have ever seen in this industry. Their work is amazing and well priced. There is a reason why they're lot is packed with cars to fix because these guys are truly the bestThank you from the bottom of my heart for all the hard work you guys did for me and will continue to do in the future as I will never trust any of my vehicles with anybody else

I have been using this AAMCO for several years now and have been moderately pleased. February of 2016 the center changed hands and I met the new manager and owner. They are a great team, very focused on providing quality service at reasonable prices, friendly and courteous and committed to building long term relationships here in the Rainier Valley. They will be getting all the repair work on my car, those of my family members, and I am recommending them to my friends. The new attitude of the shop is refreshing and everything I ask for in auto service.

Treated me extremely well even though I ended up opting out of the repair and to junk my old car. Very friendly and professional, I highly recommend them. Chris was fantastic to work with, they were flexible with me, and I will definitely be returning here for any other major repairs that I might need.

Great Service! Where can you get nearly immediate car repair service and an honest, professional assessment - AAMCO on 23rd! I had a problem with my brakes and was able to bring the car in right away. They checked things out (nice, comfortable, spacious and clean waiting area) and explained things in a clear, concise way.They didn't push unneeded services or want to charge for anything unnecessary. Getting us back on the road safely seemed like their primary concern. They were honest about my options and thorough about recommendations for repair. I really appreciate everyone at their shop!
