My 1998 Volvo s70 basically stopped running. It now runs smoooooth. They communicated the issues very clearly, of which there were a lot , with photos of issues, suggestions as to importance of repair order. They were very open to my questions and concerns about cost. We wound up setting up a 2 tier repair plan, the immediate issues first, less pressing 2nd. Easy to work with. And they love cars! Highly recommended

Excellence work. It took longer than expected but he honored the quote he gave me. This guy knows his stuff and has character - an excellent combination for a mechanic. This place is now my preferred place to get auto work done

So my vehicle runs and drives and sounds mechanically fine but its skipping a few gears, I ran diagnosis with my Autel scanner got the codes difenitly a transmission issue anywhere from solenoids, torque convertor, valve body, or transmission. I don't have much time on my hands so i decided to take it here hoping they can tell me the exact issue because someone recommended this place and dealership was booked out booked my appointment drove my vehicle about 45min to their shop dropped it off. I was ready to finally know what the exact issue was I was excited based on the reviews. When I was told my car was ready all I got was pictures of the codes they ran with their obd2 scanner which I already had on my scanner and a ''maybe transmission might be bad take it to dealership'', I was SOO disappointed when I read that i basically paid for the exact same service I did at home for free. I was trying to get more info or at least some of my money back because I felt like it was a total waste but saw the conversation was getting nowhere was charged same thing dealership charges $189 called dealership explained to them what happened they made room and scheduled me in they said they would charge the same price and said they would actually find the issue. If your looking to get your vehicle diagnosed take it to your local dealership would not recommend this place won't be coming back here again.

I had water leaking into my car after it rained. I tried fixing it myself but I couldn't fix the problem. I decided to take it to Redline Automotive. I typically do my own car repairs but since I'm pressed for time and heard good reviews I thought I would give it a try. It was dropped off on a Sunday and by Monday afternoon it was fixed. I left a detailed letter stating where I thought the problem was and all the parts I removed were in the backseat. I removed the glovebox and 2 trim pieces to get to where the water was coming into the car. It took me about 10 minutes to remove. The total bill was $377 for 2 hours of diagnostic time and repair which I'm fine with. When I got into my car to leave, all the parts were still in the backseat that I had removed. I went back into the shop and talked to the mechanic and he told me "We didn't remove them." Mind you these guys advertise as a european car repair shop. The mechanic then gave me a song and dance about all the diagnosing they did. He did offer to put it back together but I couldn't wait. He made some excuse it may take him awhile to put it back together (30 minutes). It took me a whole ten minutes when I got home to put it back together. I guess they can afford to lose business over stuff like this because I won't be going back to them.11/28: Update. The problem was not fixed. Waste of money.

My experience here has been amazing. Josh and his family business treat you like family. They fit me in both times I needed them for a seat belt buckle replacement and a modification to my frame for torklift tie downs that were improperly installed previously by someone else.I was impressed by their schedule flexibility, customer service, and pricing. I definitely would recommend coming here for any mechanical needs you may have.Thank you Josh.

I do not usually write reviews but I absolutely had to for Redline. This is the best auto shop I have ever worked with. Everyone there is incredibly knowledgeable, super friendly, and very honest. I was under a tight deadline ( on a cross country road trip) where I needed my car to be repaired pretty quickly and the team at Redline went above and beyond to have it done and ready for me in time. They had it diagnosed, repaired, and ready to go the next day after I brought it in within an hour of them opening. They were also very upfront and honest with their prices and the severity of the problems so I could budget out what was urgent and what could wait to be fixed. They really treat you like family and I cannot say enough good things about Redline. They saved my trip.

The team at Redline Automotive are very courteous, trustworthy, and honest. You can bring your vehicle to this shop knowing they will take care of it as if it was their own. The waiting area is very comfortable. The shop itself is very clean and organized - very impressed! Do not look anywhere else to have your vehicle serviced. This is a one-stop shop for any European, Asian, or domestic vehicle, whether it is diesel, hybrid, electric or gas! They took very good care of my Audi A7!

As CRD Jeep Liberty enthusiasts we were excited to have Josh work on an inherited 2006 Liberty CRD. It was a vehicle torn from its owner by cancer and had lots of updates and repairs already installed. It just wasn't finished. We knew it was close but didn't really know where to begin. Something in the suspension was making loud popping noises, the engine light was on, and the cab smelled like exhaust. We received boxes of parts along with the vehicle and let it sit for a couple of years before we decided to seek out expert assistance. Many mechanics in our area didn't want to touch it. They especially didn't want to work with already purchased parts. We found Josh through LostJeep.com and then set up an appointment at Redline online. We made arrangements to drive from Olympia to Richland to drop off the Jeep using a car trailer over a weekend and dropped it off at the shop after hours. We were putting a lot of trust into this and were just hoping it would pay off considering we had never met anyone in person. The next business day we received a comprehensive report on all of the areas that needed attention to get this Jeep back out on the road. I have never seen a report so thorough! Complete with pictures for each area that needed work and an explanation of the work with copious notes. This helped ease any worries. Josh laid out a clear plan, gave us a reasonable time line, was willing to use some of the parts that came with the Jeep and set to work. When it was finished we made arrangements to pick it up. Josh and his family came in on a weekend so we could go over the work and pay him. The drive home was fantastic!!! It took the mountain passes in the snow like a champ!! This Jeep is running better than when is came off the production line. It has a new lease on life and we are so thrilled that we found someone who loves the CRDs as much as we do. The gas mileage now is phenomenal!!! Still needing to get it off road and on trail but that will come. Can't wait to have more adventures all thanks to Josh and Co.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Brakes

My 2001 Ford F-150 truck failed to start while shopping in Richland on a weekend. I did a quick online search and redline Automotive had good ratings, was close, and had a drop off parking with a key drop-off box. With a tow, I dropped my vehicle off Saturday afternoon and filled out an envelope including my name, contact number & key and dropped in the mail slot.First thing Monday I promptly received a call from Redline Automotive. The owner explained their diagnostic service and I gave approval over the phone. Later in the week they sent me a diagnostic report via a text link. The report clearly provided a breakdown of two must fix problems and two fix soon problems with clear pricing for each repair. I approved the repairs I wanted via a return text and promptly received a reply.Several days later I got a text that my truck was ready. When I arrived they explained the the failures I had and provided several great tips on how to prevent the problem from occurring again. The truck runs absolutely perfect.I have owned cars since 1969 and done many of my own repairs over the years including breaks, valves, tune ups and oil changes. Their prices are fair and you get a honest estimate up-front. Redline Automotive personnel are professional, responsive and friendly, the establishment is clean and uncluttered, there outside area is clean with easy in and out, and their overall security is excellent.Redline Automotive is set up to maintain social distancing. If you choose, you can pay over the phone and they will provide a combination to a lock box to pick up your keys and receipt. 5 stars to a great local automotive repair shop! Definitely my go to mechanic in the future.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Brakes

Josh handled the work on my 06 dodge diesel 4x4. He definitely knows his stuff. Not only did he tackle the work I wanted done, but he also identified and fixed problems that were present from improper installation of parts from the last shop I went to before Redline. Josh is Very knowledgeable and great to interact with regarding my specific goals for the truck and how to achieve them. I would recommend Redline Auto and Josh to anyone.

They also pointed our several things I wasn't aware of on my truck that should be addressed in the future. Original review - I don't normally do reviews but in this case, I felt obligated to share my bad experience. I was told by a dealer and Redline Automotive that I needed a new engine (consuming massive quantities of oil with only 71,000 miles on the engine, but there was no signs of where the oil was going). Got an estimate from Redline and they said they could replace my short block for $3-4 thousand dollars. I chose to purchase a higher end short block along with various other high end parts that are rated better than OEM. Ordered parts from a trusted, certified and reputable dealer/retailer and everything I bought was shipped directly to Redline for installation. I was told by the retailer that everything I bought was everything that was needed for the replacement (nothing missing -included short block, head, studs, gaskets, oil filter, etc).Redline did the install and stated parts were missing and tagged on an additional $1000 worth of parts with no heads up! Was given extra "unused parts" including a coolant mod to correct a known heat issue on one of the cylinders. When questioned why it wasn't installed initially, they stated directions weren't clear enough (were very clear with pictures). The company that built the engine requires 3 stages of break in with oil changes at specific intervals and specific types of oil. I was given a quote for the first 2 oil changes being $196.00, 3rd at $170.00 (included labor charged hourly, oil & filter). They charge labor (hrs. worked) plus all materials used (labor is usually a flat rate and not hourly for an oil change, hrs. charged seemed a bit much). This price seemed excessive for what I typically pay at other reputable shops but I decided to give them benefit of doubt and went back for 1st break in oil change. They agreed to installation of coolant mod with no additional charge but did charge me for an oil filter when I had provided one to be used, gave it back to me. When installing the coolant mod, they indicated that they had to drill and tap the engine, but the instructions clearly stated that all it needed is to remove a factory plug and replace it with a threaded fitting (using a thread sealant to prevent leaks). Next oil change was at 500 miles and they used my provided oil filter this time but I was still charged for one. They came out and showed me engine oil with metallic flakes in it and stated this was highly unusual and acted like I needed to purchase a different engine. Also mentioned leaking coming from one of the valve covers and that it would need to be replaced along with gasket, spark plug seals & cam plugs to the tune of $575.44. This should have been done in the initial engine swap since it all had to be removed, there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with the valve cover or gasket when I brought them the car, and the parts I purchased included new valve cover gaskets. New spark plugs were supposedly installed at this time as well. At this point I'm uncertain if all the parts I procured were even installed, if labor I paid for was accurate and what damage may have been done during the engine swap (like my valve cover). I am highly upset with them and think they are extremely unethical, lack integrity and other people should be made aware of their shady business practices. They did not guarantee their work and requested that I pay to replace the gasket to begin with and is now leaking. I ended up taking my car to another known and trusted shop to have the gasket replaced for about half of what I was quoted at Redline and I no longer have issues with leaking around my valve cover. I also asked the second shop to investigate the work performed and look over the list of parts I had initially procured. They indicated that I was over charged and the parts I procured should have been used in the beginning and not trying to reuse old parts/gaskets. I will NEVER do business with Redline Automotive or recommend them to anyone. 7/25/22 - UPDATE - Car only has 4,000 miles on it. Timing belt was mismarked & it was off on L Cam by 2 teeth.Services: Engine repair, Oil change

Asked the shop to look at the rear axle & differentials and test fit a set of snow chains. As part of the inspection, the brakes were checked. I was told the brake fluid was saturated with water and needed to be flushed. I just bought my rig from the dealership a couple weeks previous, this didn't make sense. Also was quoted a ridiculously high amount to upgrade from a spacer lift to a real suspension lift.Anyway, when I got home I ordered a brake fluid tester from Amazon, I tested the fluid myself. Clearly it was a Christmas miracle because in one week all the water in my brake fluid disappeared.Whatever. I'm not mad but I'm never going back (see pic).Service: General repairs & maintenance

Responsibility and integrity are at the heart of this business. I have had multiple repairs on my vehicle and this is the first mechanic who figured out the issue, openly discussed resolutions, and helped me make an informed decision. Something the Nissan dealership is incapable of.

Absolute worst dealings ever had at a mechanic. They replace the rear main seal on my 06 Odyssey and didn't tighten down the motor mounts enough. This ended up giving the van a very noticeable vibration and very loud hum at certain RPMs. Took it back to them asking if it was the rear motor mount, thinking that's what it was but not able to verify myself. They check the transmission , call me back in 2 hours and told me that my transmission was "eating itself" because there were grit like particles residing within the fluid too small to see, but you were able to feel them when you rub them between your finger and thumb. It would be $6,500 to fix the transmission, because they were just going to replace that one with Theory furbished transmission. It was going to be $1,200 for labor, which is not that bad, but $4,500 for the transmission. I could have bought one from Spalding's in Spokane and have it mailed to my house for about $600. I took her to a different shop, they said the motor mount was loose, tightened and the problem was fixed. The second shop didn't even charge me for it, since it took them 15 minutes to figure out what it was and fix it. And the second shop was even a cea teaching shop. STUDENTS were looking at my van and figure this out... In the meantime I had bought another vehicle thinking that the van was going to be too much to keep if it was going to cost me $6,500 every time the transmission decided to poop out From "eating itself". Once the other shop gave me the van back, I called Redline Automotive and talk to the owner. He didn't apologize for the issue, didn't offer to compensate me for all the trouble in any way, and made me feel like it was my fault for not knowing what was really wrong with the van in the first place. I have never dealt with more arrogant, Unapologetic, conniving auto mechanic shop in my entire life... but a couple people apparently it had not bad experiences, I can just speak to the horrendous nightmare that I had dealing with them.
