I loved my room at the lakeside building. The view was amazing and I loved the balcony. The lodge was a great place to grab a drink. Though, the food at the lodge was pricy. Food is limited in that area on the off season. The room said it wouldn't have a fridge and microwave, but it luckily had a fridge which was needed given the limited options. The lake was perfect for a freezing dip. Sadly the women's changing room and sauna were closed. The old growth forests in the area is amazing. The ice machine was out of order. Hopefully, they'll make some repairs before the busy season.

The service from night shift Samantha was terrible. She slammed things (doors/wood), had an elevated volume when "talking", interrupted, condescending, overall a terrible person to be engaging with other people. I walked from an outside room to the main building where she was "helping" with my key card which was not working. It took her 3 trips back and forth (while snowy and dark) to suggest to join and override if the lock was jammed. The room was jammed. The food is expensive and limited selection. For a 2 night stay with multiple rooms, they were not able to provide an extra blanket and provided 2 K-cups total. There was no cleaning service after the first night and they also said no to extra towels, even though I explained our kids used them for the pool by mistake. The location is beautiful, but there are other places to stay near. We plan that in the future.

A wonderful location and beautiful old hotel with a great room stocked with plenty of games, puzzles and tables to play them at, and lots of comfortable seating where you can read or chat. In winter there is a massive gas fireplace running all day. The restaurant has passable but very overpriced food with average service. Internet is spotty and costs extra.Rooms: Rooms here are overpriced. Lakeside rooms are 3 star quality, although the beds have cheap spring mattresses. Fireside rooms have fun gas fireplaces, although are dark and dingy with little furniture and no desk so no more than 2 star quality. Except since there isn t daily maid service by definition it is 1 star.

As many have said, this is a beautiful location. I really enjoyed the serene and remote environment, however, with that said, there are several things I wish I'd known in advance. First, there is almost no cell service and you are only given 30 minutes of free wifi per day. Make sure you download any books or movies beforehand. Additionally the in-lodge restaurant was very overpriced for mediocre food in our opinion. We ended up enjoying pizza down the street at Dino's as well as a nicer dinner just a mile or so north of the lodge. They are not currently serving lunch on weekdays so make sure you pack some food and snacks or plan to travel further back towards town. Our family loved playing games in the lobby in the evening but the bartender was gone so I'd recommend bringing your own bottle of wine or beer in addition to some games to play. We will likely return in the future but better prepared!

YOU'RE PAYING FOR LOCATIONService:Front Desk: My rating for service is for the Front Desk staff only. The person who checked us in (woman with long silver hair) was borderline rude and the person beside her kept interrupting her with her duties while we trying to check in. Priorities?? On check out, a scraggly man asked gruffly, "what do you need?" Is there a hello anywhere there?Restaurant: Our wait person in the restaurant was lovely and very attentive though she had no knowledge of the VERY limited wines offered.Room: The fireplace room we stayed in has seen better days. There was lots of scuffs and chunks of paint missing from the walls, the carpet was soiled and worn, the closet doors were missing altogether, the faux leather bench at the end of the bed was worn and cracked, the facing on the gas fireplace was discolored making it hard to see the actual fire. Worst of all, there was someone else's hairs on the bathroom floor...I'll stop there.Location: 10/10 The main hotel grounds (lakeside lawn) were lovely and I really enjoyed the access to the lakeside trail and proximity to the rainforest trails across the road. The location was the only good thing about out stay. Not nearly worth the $350 paid...seriously.Rooms: Worn and datedNearby activities: Hiking, boating (in season)Walkability: Access to easy trail for strollingFood & drinks: Very limited selection of wine in restaurant

The customer service is so bad. I booked a room but there was no confirmation until I asked to change, not to cancel the room. They said changing rooms makes deposit non-refundable even though the room wasn t confirmed at that point . Their toll free number is non reachable so I had to pay for 20 dollars to call them and finally was told to write them an email, which I did but received no reply at all. When we inquired to the possibility to check in, the front desk asked us to check in with them three times until it was exactly 4 PM when they finally let us in. We literally waited for two hours for nothing. They could have told us so in the first place or offered to call us when the room is available. But they let others check in saying they were living in a different building but we met those guests on our floor that evening. How discriminating they are. The building is antiquated and the heat pipe made very loud noise every 3-5 minutes and people couldn t sleep at all. In terms of the outside view, it was the only good point. This should be a museum instead as it is not appropriate to live in with such bad customer services. Definitely not recommended to book such a place.

Elegant, historic lodge from which to enjoy the incredible beauty of Olympic National Forest and Lake Quinault. The wood-paneled, window-lined lobby and dining room offer an upscale dining experience. Service is on-point and accommodating. My party ordered fish and chips, soups, ravioli and pot roast, all of which was well-prepared and well-presented.

The Lodge is a historic building in a beautiful setting but the rooms and facilities are tired, uncomfortable and more akin to a 1.5 - 2 star hotel. Its damp, dank and smelly. We stayed in room 207 which I would encourage everyone to avoid. The boiler room is nearby and I was kept awake all night by loud metallic banging caused by the heating system. Staff were not responsive to my concerns and didn t even bother to validate my complaints, acting in a defensive and dismissive manner. The restaurant is drastically overpriced for poor quality offerings and a menu which belongs in the 1980s. I encountered multiple rude staff both in the dining area and at main reception.Rooms: Rooms in the main lodge are tiny with little floor space. There is a distinct dank smell which will pollute your clothing. The sound proofing is minimal and disrupting.

Great views. Service is ok. Breakfast is good. Dinner is overpriced for bland and low quality food. We booked in the main lodge for 167. We went into our room and heard the neighbors talking and then later the kids crying and screaming. Lodge room are very small with paper thin walls, 1 star for that room. The Lake View room was great but the upgrade we agreed to not held up by the manager when we checked out. We have the card from the manger and he said he would call us between 3 and 4 pm today the 18th of December. Staff seem nice but do not keep their word and do not value customers. Showers do not get hot, only warm. Sauna is a warm room is definitely not a sauna by any meaning of the word. Would not recommend this facility to friends or family.

It s an historic hotel, so the rooms will be smaller and kept true to their time period. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant at the lodge is wonderful. The view of the lake from the hotel is stunning. The hiking trails adjacent to the property show how gorgeous the landscape is. The fire in the main room is always lit and many seating places for people to enjoy. This is one of my favorite places I ve ever been to, and I m already dreaming of the next time I can go back.

The team at Lake Quinault Lodge is incredible! After getting my car stuck in a ditch on the side of 101, Alexis, Jeff, and Jim were so kind, helpful and welcoming and even though I wasn't a guest at the Lodge they did everything they could to help me out and make sure that I was safe, comfortable and had a warm place to wait until a towing company was able to pull out my car. After this experience I can not wait to come back as a true guest (especially with the 100 year celebration happening in 20206)!

For the price I expected more. The main lodge rooms are horrible, we walked in and immediately walked out and requested another room. Room was small, no TV, and could hear what our next door neighbors were saying. Had to pay for an upgrade and the room was bigger but still not worth it. We're on a honeymoon road trip and are more interested in spending time together in our room relaxing after driving and exploring. This hotel is not for that.Rooms: Small, small, small. Showers of death via slip and slid.

We planned to stop in at the gift shop, then have lunch. My husband found a top he thought I would like. I agreed and as we went to look for the correct size the lady working looked me down, then up, and with a sarcastic smile and tone informed me they only carry size small. I looked at my husband and quietly said " I guess this is only for ultra fit people?" The female employee again smiled and said "Ah hummm." We left the shop and had lunch anyway. The restaurant views were amazing, the sandwiches had spectacular flavor, and the waitress was very kind. It would have been very easy to give a top review if the shop had less opiniated staff.

It could be so much more. A little disappointed by the entire experience for as much as it cost. The lodge is historically beautiful and the staff was friendly enough, but I couldn't recommend it as a value.Rooms: Rooms.in main lodge are what you'd expect for 1920'sFood & drinks: Food was premium priced but nothing special. Not "bad", but not great.

We stayed at Lake Quinault Lodge the last night of our honeymoon and what a perfect way to go out! The lodge itself is BEAUTIFUL, exactly what you d expect from a national park lodge. We shared a bottle of wine looking over the lake followed by a lovely dinner. After dinner we sat on the beach and watched bats fly around the lake as we watched the sun set over the water. Our room had a fireplace and a lake view and was exactly what we needed. And the lodge was so close to many hikes. We went to the other side of lake quinault and found a ton of amazing, less-traveled parks that made us feel like we were the only ones in the park (plus we saw bears). The staff were also wonderful and so helpful (even heated up some leftover Chinese food we had)

Lake Quinault Lodge was overall a great experience. The vibe is almost White Lotus in the woods. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and well-maintained, the room didn t have many bells and whistles but this isn t the type of place you spend in your room all day. The food is expensive but that can be expected in any remote lodging. And yes, because it is in a forest, there are bugs, that is inevitable.Nearby activities: La Push, Hoh Rainforest

Staying at the Lake Quinault Lodge was like stepping back in time (in a really great way). It's full of historic charm. Set along Lake Quinault, in Olympic National Forest, the lodge has a cozy, secluded feel, while not actually being that far from the main road (and there's actually a gas station nearby). The attached restaurant is phenomenal - and was open until 9pm, which was great for a trio of travellers not rolling in until 7:30pm. The beds are comfortable, the staff is helpful. This would be a good place for a group trip or family reunion.

The first thing we noticed was that the room was very dated and probably hasn't been renovated since the 90s. The fireplace was covered with a non-removable glass, which was completely opaque from the inside, making it pointless. There were deep yellow stains on the pillowcases and bed sheets. Lady at the reception said that laundry facilities have been problematic and the issue is hotel-wide. There were other noticeable stains on the bed and the carpet. No room service (you have to come down to reception and get everything yourself). Only 30 minutes of extremely slow Wifi, after which you have to pay $8 for every 2Gb. No cell phone reception of any kind. No free breakfast. All of those issues would be completely forgivable and even minor if the rates were not $300 per night. The price is completely unjustified. We did not end up staying and got a full refund through Expedia.

Let's do a little comparison of 3 star hotels: Comfort Suites Tukwila and the Lake Quinault Lodge.Toilets that are farther than 3" from a wall on either side?Comfort Suites: Yes Lake Quinault Lodge: NoAdequate shower space, water pressure, and water heat?Comfort Suites: Yes Lake Quinault Lodge: NoSoundproof?Comfort Suites: Yes Lake Quinault Lodge: NoComplimentary Breakfast?Comfort Suites: Yes Lake Quinault Lodge: NoIn room TV and refrigerator?Comfort Suites: Yes Lake Quinault Lodge: NoCellular reception and Complimentary Wi-Fi?Comfort Suites: Yes and Yes Lake Quinault Lodge: Absolutely no reception and 30 mins daily per device*Beds manufactured in this century?Comfort Suites: Yes Lake Quinault Lodge: NoPrice for an overnight stay for 2?Comfort Suites: $116 Lake Quinault Lodge: $189*The hotel also provides access to limited data plans starting at $7.99.Reader, this hotel leans entirely too far into their historic and scenic trope in order to justify exorbitant prices. This building is going on 100 years and has probably seen little to no modernizations or improvements in quite some time. "OOOOOoooohhh, but its a historic building," you object. "We can't tear down history just to make way for adequate plumbing systems and well built **walls**!" To that, I whole heartedly agree. The building itself is beautiful and charming, the surrounding areas marvelously enchanting. But if we want to preserve history, lets make this a public building and museum. If we want to continue to profit off something, it needs to be renovated and maintained. Desperately. The lake, surrounding trails, and even the Lodges lounge area and Dining Hall are open access to anyone with a National Parks Pass. There are also other equally if not more suitable places to stay a few minutes up the road with less expensive price tags.If you choose to stay here, you're doing so for the name itself. You will not have a semi-luxury experience. You will sleep on an old spring mattress; you will hear the children next door to you playing with each other at 6 am; you will realize there aren't a lot of dining options in Quinault and spend roughly $30 per plate in the Roosevelt Room; you will question how such a small shower was ever appropriate, even in 1926; you will walk outside to see the lake and not sit in your room with a window facing it, and you will wonder why it was so important for you to spend more money to stay in a shabby hotel that pretends its luxury because it's next to a lake that anyone can drive to if they have 3 hours on any given weekend to do so.Rooms: We stayed in a single Queen bed room. The heater pipes banged and rattled all night and made our room entirely too warm, even when turned "off". The walls are paper thin and you can hear doors opening and closing up and down the hall all night long as well as your neighbors even if they aren't being very loud. You could also hear the people above us. I was very impressed to find the ceiling fan was single speed. It's options were "whirling around frantically as if about to fall from the ceiling" and Off. I didn't know they made them like that. The bathroom had to be an after thought. I can't fathom how any noted architect would design a building like this. The drainage pipe from the bathroom above us went right through our bathroom and you could hear every time our upstairs neighbor flushed. *ICK*. The toilet was placed so anyone north of 170 lbs would have to sit on it sideways because it was 1) place precariously on a step, and 2) 3" from the shower wall. These are not exaggerations. I hated this bathroom.Nearby activities: Miles and miles of camping and hiking. A beutiful lake that I hear gets warm enough to swim in during the summers. (I don't know if I believe that.)Safety: As far as I could tell, doors to the main lobby never locked and once inside you could walk all around even up to the rooms. You are in Quinault though...so not exactly a highly populated or crime ridden area.Food & drinks: The Roosevelt Room provides a dining experience in which you pay borderline gourmet prices for decent food that has been plated to look fancy and they put saffron on top. Is the food good? Yes. Do they know it's one of like 3 options within an hours drive and upcharge because of it? Also yes.

Oh, dear reader, buckle up for a journey back in time at the Quinalt Lodge a place where the term "historic" doesn't just mean charmingly old, but rather a bold celebration of outdated living. Don't get me wrong, there is so much charm to an old log cabin nestled in the mountains that screams "Christmas is here, lets break out the holiday sweaters and sip on a hot toddy." Driving down the long winding road got us more excited with each passing of an electric green mossy Spruce. However, the lodge instead decided to preserve the past without considering any updates for the present.Let's start with the rooms, shall we? Upon entering the lodge you are greeted with handfuls of literature aimed at teaching you about the construction of the building. You'll notice that none of the pictures depict children, despite the past widely approving of child labor. The walls at the lodge are so thin that eavesdropping on your neighbors becomes an unintended activity of your stay. Picture this: you're trying to enjoy a peaceful evening, savoring the ambiance of a historic lodge, only to find yourself an unwilling participant in the bedtime drama of the family next door. The children's enthusiastic screams and yells become an impromptu soundtrack to your stay, turning the quaint retreat into a live-action sitcom without the courtesy of a remote control to mute the cacophony. So, for those seeking the ultimate auditory adventure, Quinalt Lodge offers an unparalleled experience where privacy takes a backseat and the decibel level reaches historic heights. Sweet dreams, indeed. The accommodations at Quinalt Lodge are a true testament to the art of time travel back to an era when saggy mattresses and worn-out carpets were considered the epitome of luxury. If you're a fan of bathroom sinks placed over carpet, then congratulations, you've found your dream destination. Now, for the price because who wouldn't want to pay a premium for the privilege of experiencing a blast from the past? Prepare to part ways with your hard-earned cash for this stay. The room rates at Quinalt Lodge are pretty ridiculous considering the above, to include 30 minutes of complimentary wifi (per DAY). Fun fact we were not privy to: if you start your 30 minutes and then disconnect your wifi session, your 30 minutes for the day is now over. Now, despite being of the younger generation, we did not expect to come out into the woods and spend our free time posting highlight reels to Instagram. However, amidst our late nights and early mornings thanks to the neighbor children, having something to drown out the noise would have been the least of accommodations. Now for the positives: the staff were absolutely wonderful. We learned that quite a bit of them are seasonal workers who did a phenomenal job. It certainly was not their fault that the lodge sucked up all their hard earned work, to only NOT put it back into the environment they were fostering. There was even Hoh tribal members who came for a storytelling evening on our stay - asking for donations - I can only hope that the lodge is adequately paying them for their time as well.... but despite conglomerate Arakmark owning the place, I can only imagine that their sort of virtue signaling is doing land acknowledgements to make themselves feel better. In conclusion, Quinalt Lodge is the kind of place that leaves you wondering if the historic charm is worth the sacrifice of basic comforts.

Vintage park lodge in an amazingly beautiful lakeside location. The main lodge was constructed in less than two months in 1926; this haste shows in the generally rustic (rather than grand) appearance. Expect creaking stairs and floors. The dining room has a wonderful view, though our group of six for dinner wound up seated in a sort of hallway. We didn't even get a tablecloth. I had much better luck at breakfast though. I've seen pictures of some beautiful rooms. But ours, though clean and comfortable, definitely looked like it had been built in 1926. But despite my nitpicking, I would certainly like to stay here again, preferably for several days. We had fun with the lawn games and especially the loop hike along the shore and up into the rain forest. There is a lot to do.

The room was decent, dated and definitely had a stale smell to it. We had a nice view of the lawn. For the price we paid, we had to use the same towels and paper coffee cups for our 4 day stay. Beware the cost of the food there is crazy expensive, and mediocre at best. Expected a higher level of amenities for the price of the room. Also good luck with internet, we tried a number of times to get the 30 minutes free with the option of purchasing more to no avail.Food & drinks: Very expensive.
