After facing a transmission issue with my truck and receiving an exorbitant quote from the dealership, my search for a reliable and reasonably priced service led me to AAMCO Transmission & Total Care. The need for a trustworthy and efficient repair service was crucial, especially with an upcoming move and a tight deadline to meet.The dealership's quote was staggeringly high, $10K over what my insurance would cover. In my quest for alternatives, I contacted several other shops, only to be met with rudeness and apparent disinterest, especially in dealing with insurance matters. This frustrating experience was in stark contrast to what I encountered at AAMCO.Richard, the head of AAMCO, stood out as a beacon of professionalism and empathy. I had a revving problem while driving my 08 chrysler pacifica, looked around and found AAMCO, put my trust that they would figure out what was wrong, my husband showed a small video of the issue to Richard, he seemed to completely shrug it off and us off. We got a call when they were 'done' with the "courtesy check" the paper work estimate that was sent to my email doesn't even state that they test drove it, my husband told Richard he was going to need to test drive it a few times and over 30 mph as the issue isn't always present. Richard told us that we needed a new transmission, ok fine, I thought so that's why I took it to them. We went back to the shop to talk to Richard about the other problems he said it had, alternator, radiator hoses and few noises it was making. He totally brushed us off sent me a link to apply for financing, barely said anything, said it was going to cost $10K to fix all of it. After being met with rudeness we decided to take my truck home, so my husband got in it and attempted to drive it but the battery died, I just put a brand new one in yesterday, then all of a sudden the alternator starts to over heat, again no problems before we took it to them, AND when we we got to a safe place my husband had me turn it off and try and start it there was SOO many new noises that it never made before, I sat and cried because I had trusted these people with my vehicle and got it back in worse condition then it was in when it took it to them. We had to limp it all the way from Puyallup to MY mechanic in yelm to park it for the night, now I have to go buy a new alternator because something got messed up while they were doing their "courtesy check" that it overheated.. never had a problem with it before hand, also had the radiator replaced by my mechanic not 3 days ago and he tried to tell us the hoses were bad and it needed a coolant flush when my mechanic never said anything about them when they replaced the radiator. I'm am very unhappy and now very stressed about how we were treated. He didn't seem to care one bit about my situation or anything just trying to get as much money from us as he could.

First off, Fantastic service from start to finish with this business. The Lakewood location could learn a thing or two from this one. The transmission work was very professional, and functions flawlessly. They got it done in a very good timeframe, and I would highly recommend this shop to anyone that needs things to get done right. My 2007 Pilot has never been happier! Thanks to Richard and his amazing team.

I had my transmission replaced in July. The job was completed on time and without hassle. I towed my boat after job from Bonney Lake to the north tip of Vancouver Island and back. No issues. Still running great. Awsome staff. I would recommend without hesitation.

Transmission failed on my 08 Duramax Allison Transmission. Richard with Aamco took care and set me up a stage-4 Transmission ready for 1200 horsepower. Aamco of puallup is by far the best transmission shop that I have found.the service is professional, the work is quallity, and the price is fair. Wow! JUST Wow is all I can say at this point!! Richard was so very communicative, they were super thorough with everything and even did extra stuff on my car that I didn't even ask for! It was literally the best experience I've ever had in my entire life out of any mechanic shop I've ever been to! I will most definitely be going there every time there's something going on with my car! I can tell automatically I could trust them and that they were there to truly help me and get my car back on the road safely! They diagnosed my '08 mazda 3. Determined it was the clutch. Richard helped me with the financing. He was short staffed at that time, and got his tech to start on my car. Richard is great to work with. He got my car fixed in a reasonable amount of time. I have a few more things for them to fix on my car. I will bring all my cars to them to work on. This place was phenomenal! I had my car sitting at a different business/shop for 3 weeks and they hadn t even looked at it, found this place online and called and spoke with Richard, he got me right in and was able to diagnose my vehicle that day! It was still under warranty and he worked with the warranty company and took care of all of that, was very professional and friendly whenever I had to call with any questions. These guys are awesome. They went above and beyond to make sure my vehicle got fixed within budget. Its very difficult to find a shop that won't nickel and dime you to death, AND do quality work in an efficient manner but thank my lucky stars, I've found my shop! Richard got me right in and Kurt did the work in half the time quoted. I HIGHLY recommend using AAMCO in South Hill. They really care about the customer here.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I actually had my car brought into a different shop before I contacted them because i didnt realize how much better service id receive. It was going to be over 6 weeks with another mechanic and they told me they could have in 2 and transport my car there free. They were very efficient, professional, answered all my questions and I knew what I would pay from the beginning. Richard at Aamco Puyallup runs a great shop. He is knowledgeable and honest. Aamco was able to work with my extended warranty company. They replaced my transmission in my 2014 Equus with a used unit. All I had to do was pay my $50 deductible. I would highly recommend this location for anyone having transmission issues. This is only the second time I have ever written a review so that should show you that the customer service here was exceptional. Nobody wants to find out that the additional warranty they bought for their car is not actually covered by the dealer that sold it and told to go elsewhere. That is what happened to me but within the span of a single day the guys at AAMCO made time for me to bring my car in get serviced and ultimately will be doing the hard part of contacting the warranty company to make sure that I do not come out of pocket or inconvenienced more than I already am. Richard is really a very nice guy! I told him I needed my car checked out but couldn t afford a more detailed check and he helped me find financing to pay for what I needed done. Great shop i totally recommend!!!

The manager, Richard, is a very genuine, respectful, and kind guy who has more than 25 years of mechanical experiences of motor vehicles. He was very nice and responsible for something that AAMCO puyallup mechanics have done for customers' vehicles. Furthermore, Kirk is an experienced top mechanic and very kind, too. These guys are the best in the business. Very professional and do a quality job. The price is well within the market range. I have had our engine replaced from they about a year ago. They were so good I had to use them for my AC fixed by them. I would recommend this location anytime. Thank you Teddy and your mechanic. Very honest and helpful staff. From the moment I was in contact with them I knew i had come to the right place. I brought my '97 Subaru for a once over and repairs. I was told the cost of repairs were higher than the value of the car. Answered all my questions patiently and with full explanation. Free inspection and honest about results. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Definitely value their customers and I recommend taking your vehicle here for repairs/maintenance needs.

Took my car in for a transmission flush, ended up having a problem with my transmission. Luckily it was still under warranty, rather then completing the service and sending me on my way they advised me in the right direction to go. I am very great full for all the help I received at no cost to me. The staff is amazing all around from the service at the front to the work in the garage. The high quality of work they provide is why I chose them in the first place, but their integrity and customer service will keep me coming back for future services. Highly recommend.
