Great customer service. Resourceful and understanding, they helped me diagnose the problem, found a used rear axle right away, and referred me to a differential shop for a rebuild option ad my best alternative. Replaced my starter last year, a very difficult job, for about half what the dealer quoted.

I had a great experience with Gary's Auto Service. I brought my Mazda Miata in for it's 30K service, as well as adding a spoiler on to the back. Their work was excellent, and both Joe and Aaron were very knowledgeable and explained everything they did to ensure my car was taken care of. I will also be bringing my Toyota Highlander here when it is time for its next service!

I needed struts and Gary's went above and beyond getting me in the same day and out within a couple hours. Every other repair shop in 98368 told me it would be several weeks if not months and quoted me ridiculous prices. The down home honesty and care is something that's missing these days. I will definitely bereturning for other services and recommending Gary's Auto Service to everyone I know. Nice job!!!UPDATE! Gary's did my water pump and did a great job! Every time I go to Gary's they are more than happy to take a look at my car. They always are super honest. I trust them to tell me whether or not my car is safe to drive. Gary and his team are the top notch mechanics in Port Townsend! Got my vehicle in here early in the morning and for a Tune-Up/Check-Up as I'm off for the road to California this month and can't be having any trouble while I'm away. An afternoon later I'm set and feeling less stressed. Even picked myself up a carton of fresh eggs for $4 on my way out the door!

It's easily the best shop and crew I've worked with. I had serious engine problems with my Jeep, and they were the only ones around who were willing to take the time and effort to get the work done and do it right. It's been a few months since the work has been finished, and the Jeeps been running excellent. They went out of their way to make sure the bill, at the end of the day, was as low as they could get and, for the amount of hours spent, they did.I definitely recommend them to anyone who needs reliable and well priced work done on their car. We take both our Subarus (one old, one new) to Gary. He's amazing, extremely honest, and very helpful. He doesn't fix "what ain't broke" never over-charges. Heartily recommend!

I cannot speak highly enough of Gary, his soon Aaron and the crew at Gary's Auto Service. We had a hellish experience with our insurance company dispatching a tow truck to grab us and were to spend over 6 hours on the side of a dark highway with no hazard lights in the dark. Gary was so very accommodating and went above and beyond for us, actually come and grabbing us because he was concerned for our safety. He gave us a loaner vehicle while they checked out our car so we could still salvage our trip and have a good time. He was kind, thoughtful and honest through the entire process which can sometimes be hard to find in the auto world. If you need a straight shooter with a small outfit run by good people, look no further. I would definitely hit up Gary again down the road.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I do most of my own work but I'm moving out of state so there were a few things I wanted done on my 2001 pickup. I have used Gary's before so had him do a tune-up, new spark plugs and wires, repair the cabin air system and install a new fuel filter . He did it all for a very reasonable price. He took a great interest to make sure I wouldn't have any problems on my journey even though he couldn't expect any more business from me. He has my highest recommendation for knowledge, honesty and integrity.

Gary and his mechanics are extremely honest and price very fairly. I've called and brought my car in that same day a few times and he told me exactly what was wrong and didn't over charge me. My boyfriend and I both brought our cars in when we were driving across the country to make sure everything was okay and he assured us that everything was fine and didn't rip us off. Very friendly and reliable, I would trust Gary any time fixing my car.

We just had our 2009 Accord in for the dreaded " flashing malfunction light."Gary could fit us in the day of our call. He and his technician Aaron quickly surmised the problem and fixed it the same day. These two are wonderful. Gary is honest, friendly and knowledgeable.Word of warning - driving up to his shop can throw you and the condition of the shop makes you question your choice. Don't hesitate. This is one of the best car repair experiences I have had in over 30 years. We are sold and will be bringing all of our automotive repairs to Gary.Thanks a million Gary and Aaron!

I've had cars (many) to shops throughout the Puget Sound region for around 50 years. Gary's is the best shop I've ever experienced. When our Ford Expedition had a "Check Engine Soon" event, and started missing badly, I took it in to a PT shop in town and was told they could look at it in two and a half weeks. We were trailer camping at Fort Warden and had only two days left on our campsite available. Called Gary around noon, he diagnosed it at 1:00 pm and had it ready to go by 5 that same day! And yes, he was reasonable and someone I instantly knew I could trust.

Gary has always performed phenomenal service at a fair price!I normally never write a review for anything, but Gary has time and time again proved professional auto service.I would highly recommend putting your vehicle in his crew's hands.Its worth the drive!

Gary is a great mechanic. Very friendly, a good listener and he has the reasonable prices compared to other mechanics I've received quotes from. I came in to get a second opinion on a job that I had received a $1300 quote from another questionable mechanic, well, Gary looked over my truck and told me that I didn't need the work that was recommended to me by the other mechanic and most importantly, he caught another dangerous issue that had been overlooked by that other mechanic. Plus, it would only cost $170. It's better than $1300 bucks. Well, I look at this way, he saved my life and also saved me about $1100. I travel 2 hours to see Gary, because I don't trust anyone else, especially for being a woman. He definitely has a lifetime customer in me!! Thanx Gary :)

We just moved to the area and this morning our minivan had a plastic part underneath the engine that was dragging on the ground. I called Gary's Auto Services, and was shocked that he told me to just come right over now. The shop is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the drive. Gary and his mechanic were just awesome!!! Within 10 minutes of me getting there, they had the car lifted up, fixed and ready to go. This was very appreciated especially since I had two little ones in tow with me. They were kind, price was right, and we are excited to have found our new mechanic!

Great Christian ran operation. Gary oversees bikers that have had serious accidents sometimes he's first on the scene to minister to them in case they don't make it. We had him work on our truck. He's a guy you immediately realize is a trustworthy man and he and his wife are great people. I hardly ever complement business people in this manner but he deserves it. He has great analysis skills and explained to me why he did what he was doing and showed me how he was eliminating possible guesses of what was wrong with our truck so he could narrow it down more quickly. Turned out to be a fuel pump. He did a great job and the pump was inside the fuel tank. No problem he fixed it. I'd recommend this man. Prices are very reasonable.

These guys are really good. I thought I had a pretty serious issue with my 1990 Toyota motorhome, and the thing is tough to work on. It was hard to find a shop that could fit me in in a timely manner, but Gary did. Even though he was very busy, he understood that I was pressed for time and managed to get me in within a couple of days. I was expecting to hear I would have to schedule some major repairs, and I was very pleasantly surprised when Gary called saying the thing was fixed a couple of hours later. The bill was reasonable (he could have charged a lot more and performed unnecessary work, but is obviously very honest) and I couldn't be happier.

Fantastic folks here. I'm in from out of town and had concerns about my brakes. Gary's team went for a ride with me to hear the noises and were able to troubleshoot the issue quickly. I highly recommend giving Gary's a try.

A lot of great reviews.It takes only one time to get a crummy one. I was early for an appointment. The fellow at the desk said the "other guy" would be there shortly. There were no other customers. 10 minutes after my appointment time, I checked in again. The other guy had a dead battery, but was on his way. I waited a while, then just left.I called though, hoping to speak with Gary, but got the fellow at the desk. He asked if I wanted to reschedule. I said I didn't trust that I'd be seen.He explained again the other guy had a dead battery, only this time it came out he was running an hour late. I might have sat in my car another 45 minutes (that is if the guy got there in an hour) waiting for an auto repair tecchnician or specialist who was running behind because he had a dead battery.I don't know.

I had a problem where I needed a repair immediately, without an appointment. Gary stepped up to the situation, and took care of me straight away! I got the repair I needed, I was treated well, and I was given a fair price! I would highly recommend Gary for someone who will do right by you regarding your auto repair needs.

These guys are great. I came to them asking for advice regarding a vehicle I was considering buying and they freely offered their advice that the vehicle was overpriced to the extent that it was not worth me paying them to make a pre-purchase inspection. It can be difficult finding honest mechanics, but they treated me with nothing but respect and integrity. Would recommend.

I've been dreading the trouble and expense of having my clutch replaced. This Mechanic is straightforward and very fair and kind; even loaned a car for our use while he worked. He got the job done sooner and for less than I'd anticipated and I couldn't be happier w the results. He's one of the good ones! Thanks Gary.

Knowledgeable mechanics and Gary, the owner, is a really nice guy. Unfortunately, they we're unable to discover what was wrong and by car. After having it a year, I finally found a mechanic that discovered what was causing the draw on my battery.

Had an emergency, called with no notice to five different auto places. Gary's listened to my issue and actually took time out of his day to help. Great customer service and straight forward and helpful
