We love Fillmore St Garage! Roy & Joe have taken care of us and our fleet for years. Honest, friendly, reasonable rates & always a smile.

These guys are greatI Very friendly, professional and helpful... and SMART. They found and fixed a problem (in under an hour) that even the dealer could not figure out. It was a road-noise rattle that had been going on for several months. My husband had taken the car to the dealer, but they could not find the noise. Since I was about to do a thousand mile road trip, I really wanted to be sure there was no driving or safety hazard. After one shop had offered me an appointment 10 days away and another didn't even return my call, I stopped by Fillmore St. Garage, with no appointment, to ask if they might be able to have a look within the next few days. Roy immediately walked out to the car with me to do a couple of quick tests, then asked me to return a later that afternoon when he could put it up on the lift to check it out. Long story short: Roy found the source of the noise (which the dealer's crew failed to do!) fixed it right there on the spot, and test drove the car with me to confirm it was fixed. And charged me a VERY reasonable price. In fact I was surprised at how low the cost was. Definitely highly recommended!

I had my Subaru Forester towed in after a very unexpected break down. They took my car right away and called me the very next day to let me know it was my alternator. A few hours after that they called me to tell me my car was ready to go. It was Eric who helped me. He gave me some great advice and was super nice. I feel it was all very reasonably priced. I will recommend this place to everyone and will definitely return if car problems arise.

Jason @ Fillmore St saved me at the last minute when my car developed a radiator leak and was able to squeeze me in. Since I live out of town, I was looking at a very long day since the previous garage I called said I wouldn t be able to get an appt for 2-1/2 months. Highly recommend. Thumbs up for taking the time to not rip me off and for a very reasonable price in an emergency situation.

Took my Lexus there for a timing belt & water pump change. I am so thankful for Jason (mechanic) who does quick work that is really good! And don't forget about Jordan, he did the scheduling, confirmation call and even dropped us off AND picked us up when our car was done. The pricing was affordable, the service was fast, the people were GREAT! what else is there to say!

Very negative and bizarre interaction! So we bought a Honda for our daughter, and wanted to have a sensor light and some window issues fixed. I called the Fillmore Street garage for 3 days and left my number- trying to get a hold of Ron (the shop manager) for an appointment- who never called me back- BTW- (just hope he's there when you call). My husband Jim dropped the car off, and spoke with Joe (the mechanic) who relayed that we had essentially "bought a lemon", and advised we seek steps to resolve the issues with our car, as it would be a very expensive fix. Long story short- I called back to the garage to get advice on what to say to the car lot we bought it from (lemon laws, type and estimated cost of repairs, etc) Joe denied having said anything of the sort to my husband, states he never makes recommendations- and said nothing about expensive repairs. Ron the manager told me "I don't have time for this, do you want the car fixed or not?" He refused to discuss anything any further and essentially relayed that either I shut up or go elsewhere. I have lived all over the US and have dealt with great, and terrible auto repair shops, Most mechanics are down to earth, practical, and plain spoken. These two men act as if they are an exclusive, snobby boutique, and that neither their word nor behavior have any impact on whether you get a choice to come there! Yikes! Also- they had my car for 8 hours- and did not touch any repairs- despite waiting for 21/2 weeks for an appointment... Seek an auto repair shop elsewhere that understands standing by your word, customer service, and anti-elitism!

Had a small problem with my Honda - a plastic panel underneath came loose while visiting the town. Our b&b host recommended this place. They fixed it for a reasonable price and same day. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Would come back if we ever have car trouble up this way again!

I went in to get a few bushing brackets for my alternator and a new bottom bolt for my alternator and the guy was super nice. He even referred me to an amazing Volvo site where I could get any parts I needed for a good price. Also offered up used parts from their old volvos in the back, a good thing to know since the nearest pick and pull is like an hour away.

Friday afternoon and all shops were busy and unable to help. I called frantically and asked if they could help. Jason informed me they are booked solid but he would take a quick look if I could get it in. When I arrived, he helped me asap and was able to diagnose my issue and did the repair in a matter of moments. Really good service and price. I'll be back again! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and chatting while I was there. Really nice guys, compassionate and fair. Thanks Roy and Jason.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Over the last six months or so I've been bringing my '06 BMW project car to Roy and Jason when I get stuck. They have been awesome in every way. Whether slapping on Bilstein shock/struts, replacing a difficult alternator, or swapping belts, the work has been done quickly, competently, and at a fair price. I highly recommend them!

Was down and out with a bad alternator and no tools. They had my alternator out and a new one in...in just over an hour. I highly recommend these guys! Made the drive from Minneapolis and very fortunate to have you take care of my car....not worried about the drive back now! Very reasonable and professional service!

I could not recommend this shop. Though very nice the communication was horrible and I received one phone call telling me that my repair would be about a half hour so $42 in labor plus parts for spark plugs and wires. I asked them to please change the oil as well. I never received another call about the cost or additional work. When I arrived to pick it up my bill was $475. I was shocked. They had done additional work I had not authorized and had charged me double for the parts cost from O'Reily's so I am not sure where they buy parts of how they mark them up but it is exhorbitant! I was told by a male friend that they took advantage of me because of my gender that what they did should have cost around $250. My truck is running great - it better. I will never every go back. I will walk before I take a vehicle there. A DEFINITE RIP OFF GARAGE!!!

Honest, down to Earth folk, who are able to listen to your concerns, think outside the box, and get things fixed and working for a reasonable price. The result is point and fix without needing to coach or be concerned. I brought in my Jaguar XF (Ford) and BMW X5 with random needs acquired over the last three years from replacing an emblem to diagnosing an engine light (was the air filter - his first guess.) Anyway, excellent folks. I highly recommend them.

I just had a new transmission put in my 85 VW Vanagon there at the Filmore St. Garage. If you have a VW Vanagon (I know there are a lot in that area) Jason is your guy. His knowledge of these vans is quite impressive. Not only that but after he took the tranny apart he realized that it would be more cost effective for me to buy a new (rebuilt) transaxle versus having him rebuild mine. The cost in parts and time was going to be much higher than just buying one from a reputable vendor (which he suggested quite a few for me). So not only is he knowledgeable he's honest, a rare combination in today's world. The owner was also very friendly and helpful. He took my van in on short notice and worked with Jason in scheduling the work in a timely manner that not only allowed for me to get my van back in less than one day from receipt of transmission but they communicated with me along the way on the status of the work and additional work that the van needed while they were working in that area. Although this was my first experience with Filmore St. Garage, I can honestly say that it will not be my last. Thank you guys and don't let the previous negative reviews fool you, Jason wasn't there at the time!

The Fillmore Street Garage has undergone some changes in the past few months. They have hired a journeyman mechanic with 30 years of experience and excellent knowledge of cars of all makes and models. Roy cares deeply about his mechanic and his customers. The people who work at this shop have big hearts and want to see you walk away very satisfied and happy. Disgruntled, previous employees have left some negative reviews.

My Volvo broke down on a road trip, and I had it towed 15 miles into Port Townshend because Fillmore works on Volvos. This was a Sunday, they knew my car was coming, and I went in on Monday to discuss. Later on Monday, we spoke on the phone and I was told it was the fuel pump (a big job on my car's model), but they said they'd take care of it and I'd "be on the road tomorrow". So, I politely waited until 3pm Tuesday to call and check in, and they informed me that not only had we not spoken on Monday (an outright lie), that they couldn't work on my car until Thursday. Meanwhile, I'm stranded in Port Townsend, I have to pay for hotels, etc. I needed to go home. Finally, someone came to get me to drive me home (4+ hours to Portland) and I came back on Saturday to pick up my car. $1275 later, I am driving home. However, my gas gauge is still broken - should have been fixed by the new sending unit along with the fuel pump.Today, a few weeks later, I hear from my trusted mechanic in Portland that Fillmore Garage installed my fuel pump UPSIDE DOWN. This is why the gas gauge was is not working, and I have a semi-faulty pump. A $1275 job and they messed it up. This is bad enough for them to mess up the work, and they treated me like I was a nuisance and a liar. Don't trust this shop.

Hubby and I both had our vehicles serviced at the Filmore garage by their new mechanic Jason Boyce with 25 years experience. He is conscientious and looked at our brakes as well. We'll continue going there because of the individual attention we received.

Jason is the man. I only take my vehicles to Filmore. Honest and fair pricing. They're usually super busy because they're so good, so repairs can take a little time, but well worth it

Great people! Sent out Joe on a Saturday morning to look at or dead car at Fort Worden State Park where we were camping. He told us two problems but he was sorry he could not fix them. He suggested to have it towed back to the dealer in Olympia. He would not take any money. But dealer fixed the two problems Joe had told us. Thanks guys!

Very honest and great mechanic! Replaced a part instead of having to buy a whole new transmission (which was recommended at another shop) saved me a lot of money and got my car back the same day I dropped it off!!
