I just love this town. From the general store with the museum underneath to the cemetery with beautiful views, It's a wonderful town to visit and walk around. So much history and it's preserved just the way it was long ago.

I didn't go inside the museum but walked around the town. A great place to chill out and enjoy a warm summer day, good food a quiet setting with great views.

Pete, thank you for sharing all your knowledge. I have to share what happened to me the next morning following our tour. Woke up, and one of my friends noticed a sticker on my pajama shirt. It was a smiley face. OK, I packed my luggage on Saturday, wore the pajamas for 4 nights. I have also traveled from one location to another, and we had been here for 2 days. So, I think it was a spirit sending me a sign that all is OK.

A beautiful town with interesting historical value. Friendly residents, lovely shops and beautifully preserved historical buildings. I recommend this day trip for everyone. A nice playground for the little ones. Adults, you ll appreciate the shopping and a tap room. Have fun!!!! I know we did.

My out-of-town guests from the East Coast were fascinated by this small museum that showcases the northwest history. It's very cheap- Adults: $4.00 /Students/Seniors/Military: $3.00 /Children six and under free. it took us an hour to look through the whole thing. The staff is always incredibly willing to spin all sorts of yarns for you.

This is a fun place to visit if you are in the area. Much of it seems more geared toward selling the items, or related items to what is in the museum, but I get that is how they make money. I do wish there was a little more history explanation to it though. Still, it's a very fun stop, and one of the best attractions in the town.

Port Gamble is a pretty small town and I's say the museum is definitely a feature you will want to see, especially since it is free.Part of the value is that it's free and in and of itself makes it worth it! It's a small museum but has an interesting collection of shellfish and taxidermied fish. If you are in Port Gamble it's worth a visit. It is located in a general store type setting and occupies the entire second floor. A restaurant adjoins the space. If you stroll through, it will probably take you 30/45 minutes or longer.

The food is great but the serving staff is horrendous at doing their job. Long waits and it isnt very crowded. Dont come here for a quick bite by any means
