Stay here!! Under new ownership and wonderful helpful folks. I will be back to enjoy more time here. Can't say enough about how beautiful this place is and so close to many wonderful sights.Nearby activities: Olympic National Park!! The Crescent Lake, hiking, close to Port Angeles for fun and civilization, but also quite beautiful place.Food & drinks: Stocked store and yummy cafe just down the road.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in July and overall it was okay. We were lucky we were able to find a reservation as the rest of that area was booked solid but once we got there, it was clear why it was open.1. This place is NOT big rig friendly. We gave our length upon check in and thought everything was fine but we quickly realized that it's more for smaller rigs. The drive into the newer RV area (and the path they recommended we take) has to be a 8-9% grade; it was so steep going up that we actually started sliding back down. Luckily my husband was able to gun it and get us up the hill. However, there is a VERY tight turn at the top with vehicles parked in the roadway and overhanging branches that really make the whole route treacherous. They should recommend that bigger rigs take the exit path which is much less steep and more easily managed.Once we finally made it to our area, the angle we had to enter on made the back of our rig scrape the road. So we had to reverse back up this hill, go down the exit path, make a u-turn, and then finally come back IN on the exit path (it's hard to explain the layout). Then, it took almost 3 hours, stacks of 2x4's and a lot of patience to get semi-level once parked. Again, this area was not designed for big rigs and it showed. Our back end hung off over a cliff, making our bikes on the rear hitch inaccessible. Every single RV that came in had a hard time getting level with some people resorting to digging holes for their tires.2. The laundry and bathroom facilities were not good. Thankfully we didn't need to use the bathrooms but I peeked inside and it was gross. The laundry looked okay at first so we did a couple loads - big mistake. The dryer made our clothes smell SO bad - we went to a laundromat in Port Angeles to rewash everything.3. The views are to die for - I absolutely loved seeing the mountain across from our spot every day and the weather was perfect every day.4. Location is perfect. In fact, it's one of the reasons we stayed despite everything else being so bad. There are so many hikes and things to do around the area, right at the entrance to Olympic National Park. I have no bad things to say about the area.5. The staff we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. One of the guys brought my husband a beer when he saw what a hard time we were having trying to level our rig.Overall, it was okay but unless there is extensive work done, we wouldn't come back. Some of the issues seem so easy to fix - level the sites, grade the roads, be aware of best routes for big rigs, and just keep the facilities clean. The location is perfect and this place has so much potential to be great.

I am in a trailer temporarily while I build a house in town and had paid extra to guarantee my spot which was on the lowest level. I had stopped in prior to moving here as I was heading in from the coast weakly to line up contractors and such in PA. I had chosen the spot specifically because of the reviews I had seen mentioned that the upper spots were poorly leveled and had no internet reception. Upon arrival I was told I would not be in that spot and that it "must have been for a good reason" that I was moved, but could tell me why. It was very tight to try and back in the 23' trailer, but luckily the new spot was near the end and it could be done. Most of the people that stay here are long term residents, are friendly and keep to themselves. HOWEVER, the people just above me were the WORST neighbors I have ever had. They left vehicles running and revving for no less than 5 minutes at whatever time they wanted (often during so called quiet hours). It was not cold out and there was no reasoning behind this. The carbon monoxide would roll the down the hill and make me sick. When I asked them nicely to stop that they told me they could "do what [they] want because [they] have lived here for five years". Well, congratulations on never making it out of the RV park. When I spoke to the manager (several times over the month) they never did anything to stop this behavior - so I guess they were right, they can do whatever they want. The bathrooms were also inoperable and absolutely the most awful I have ever seen at any campsite. Regularly had feces piled in unflushable toilets, poorly lit, dirty, no soap, and no toilet paper half of the time. Luckily, I have a bathroom that works just fine in my trailer - so I avoided this disgusting mess. Finally, the water ran dirty many times and I used a filter for any water used. I would not recommend staying here, but if you MUST because everything else in the area is full (there is a reason why this would be the only place left with open slots) here are some tips:- Filter all water from the faucet- DEMAND to be put into the spot you were guaranteed (I would recommend the lowest level as it has the least steep incline and you are far away from the awful neighbors)- DO NOT EVER use the bathrooms - just don't even bother- Sleep with ear plugs so you don't have to hear the noise from the busy highway or the loud barking dogs- Never try to stay here if you have a longer trailer or RV - it is such a pain to get in and out and the overgrown branches will scratch it up

Overall this place was ok. The showers and bathrooms were probably the most disgusting I ve ever seen at a campsite. Both toilets were broken in the men s room, and one in the women s room was also broken. The entire place is basically on a hill so none of the sites are leveled and you feel like you re about to roll down hill when you lay down in your tent. The location is perfect as it was only a few minutes from everything we wanted to do. The owners are very nice. The store is nice too, as we were maybe a 30 second walk from it and they had a good selection of things. If I m ever up this way again I definitely would pick a different campsite. Some of their spots were really nice with a tent provided and hanging lights + hammocks. If you re a light sleeper you won t be able to sleep here. The traffic from the road is LOUD no matter what site you re at. Overall I d rather go to some place cleaner with working facilities. I didn t bother showering the three days we were here because the showers/bathrooms were THAT nasty. The sinks were so gross I didn t even want to wash my hands in them, I used hand sanitizer at my camp.

Let's start with the reason you SHOULD stay here.1) Area is kept clean2) Sites often available (at least a few) even when other areas are full... Due to the insane "book a year in advance" practices currently in effect at all the state sites3) You'll get flushing toilets, showers, availabe water.4) Tent and RV sites..5) just a half mile from Lake Crescent and Sutherland is across the street.6) A convenience store and gas station that offers FAR more than your basics. So IF you forget your camp chair, hot dog forks, or are hankering for some ice cream... They have you covered.7) Staff is very accommodating and pleasant to work with. Now, that bit that keeps showing up in other reviews. The bathroom. It's, um... Uncomfortable. But it offers FAR more than you would get wild camping.Wear your flip flops in the shower and you'll be fine. The toilets were cleaned once but after that someone didn't bother to flush their business and so, we tried to "clean up after them"... But one of the toilets refused to flush. (Both in the men's side, and the woman's.) It wasn't tended the rest of the time we were there.Which led to smells and yuck factor. Bathrooms are in deed need of a total overhaul... But that's money. And they are only asking $25 a night for tents. And something like $50 for RV.You get a LOT for that price. And you can't ask for a better location. Our only REAL compliment was the road noise. It's rough. The tent sites, all of them are just set back from the highway. It only gets marginally quieter during the night.A fence AND something like a Laylan Cypress or pillar hedge would do wonders for privacy and noise buffering. Some of the sites could use grading/leveling in some flat areas, especially for tent camping. We'll see, hope they can continue to improve. All in all very pleased and certainly blessed by our stay. Nearby activities: Lakes, trails, fishingFood & drinks: All the convenience foods and Ice cream

Great location mins from cresant lake wifh nice mtn visas. Internet is better post install of srarlink but canbe patching in peak wk end time, which is fault of telco not investing in more 5g towers. Otherwise yku can get around 1p0..3p Mbs download speed.Service is friendly and they have always go the extra mile to help. Lots of snotty or down right drugy danagerkus parks in pa this place pl is perfect.

We stayed at Shadow Mountain RV Park for three nights. We had booked a tent site by mistake and were immediately offered a better site at the same price for our van when we checked in. The location is great and the store is well stocked so you don't always have to drive to Port Angeles. The restroom building is not great, but the showers are hot and the restrooms are clean. Washing machines and dryers were o.k. too. Because the staff is particularly friendly and helpful there are 5 stars from me.

Our experience at this place was less than average.Pros: 10 mins drive from a few great trails, staff at the store was very pleasantCons: many sites are not level. Our site was so uneven that our fridge stopped working and some of our food got spoilt. (apparently for the fridge to work it needs to be level). Sites very close to each other. Bathrooms were horrible (see the photos attached). Garbage cans were too small for that many sites and continued to overflow each day which attracts flies and other pests. Washers and dryers are old and broken. Out of 4 dryers only two of them worked for the entire campground which wasn t enough. No picnic tables at sites, which means you can t even have a meal outside.I d recommend a stay if you want to spend most of the time exploring Olympic park and trails. If you re looking to spend more time around your trailer, not the best place.

On Memorial Day weekend everything was full. These nice folks offered me a place in the new "loop" up on the hill with a view to die for. I don't need hookups (though they have them) and it was a price I couldn't refuse. The staff who helped me at the general store were so friendly, and there were yummy home baked goods. Hot showers made my stay pretty darn perfect! When the loop is finished it will be a five star.

$55/30 amp. Low water pressure. Broken glass. Unable to get level. Not sure if the Wi-Fi works- couldn t get onto the site given. Received a scrap of paper with a code for the bathhouse, another scrap with an internet name and yet another scrap for a car tag. We only slept here so we stayed. It was moderately hazardous getting the rig to the site . Packed like sardines. The tent camping looked very nice and cool. I appreciated the convenience store and gas. The location is near lovely rec sites and portions of the Olympic National Park.

DO NOT BOOK !! this place is so unorganized , l paid for 2 sites that claimed to have hook ups fork electricity and WiFi and paid the extra fee to lock them in so I wouldn t be moved only to drive 3 hours on Friday, get there and my site is completely wrong , they said that they have multiple booking sites that don t all link up. So they moved me to a site on the side of the highway that was completely uneven and unable to put a tent on. After speaking with the nice lady in the front she apologized and let me know that they don t have a computer system just paper list that the owner brings daily and the numbers on google is his personal phone that he doesn t pick up . I called and left a voicemail that morning that my friend would be checking in for sites D AND E , I got no call back that those sites were double booked and people were already there and I was being moved to a make shift site . The lady on the front offered me a refund so I drove home another 3 hours and still had to call the owner over 5 times to get my refund finally . This place is dirty, unorganized, and not worth the 150 dollars to stay . There are plenty of other campsites in the area that are a lot nicer and better to stay in.

Was here for a good while with my family. First got there, things were okay. Then we noticed lots of problems. 1) the smell of weed day and night, we had to leave our RV closed off tight, 2) posted speed limit that no one ever paid attention to, 3) non-existent wifi or cellular service, 4) bathhouse/laundry sucked, 5) trying to get 45+' fifth wheel trailers up to the "Circle" (that has been installed without building permits from the county) without success (seen damaged trailers). Seen 3 sets of managers come and go in the time we were there. The owner, Jeremy, doesn't want to buy new equipment or upgrade anything. The view, when you can get it, is wonderful, especially the wildlife that will wander around the park. DON'T waste your time or money here. Everything in the General Store is from Walmart in town and you can get the stuff cheaper at Walmart.

Booked a campsite several weeks ago for this past Saturday. Got confirmation that all was set. Got an alert less than a day before check in that our reservation had been cancelled. All it said was Sorry No Availability. I shot Jeremy a text and also a message on Hipcamp asking what happened. Zero response. They also will not answer phone calls and you can t leave messages as the voice mailbox is full. After seeing all the one star reviews in this past week alone, seems this isn t a good place to camp.

I booked for a camp site, they gave me an Rv site. It was a drive way of rocks no bigger than the size of a pick up truck. The Rv next door looked like meth central. I was told the park has Wi-Fi. It dose but only for the first few sites and that s it. The bathrooms are scary, and gross. You get in the shower and you sink. Ugh so upset!! What a waste of 200.00 dollars. I would not even give the one star if I could give zero. Oh year sure you can rent a kayak for a 100 bucks a day. There is no beach access. Waste of money and time.

They save my life. I was looking for a camping place and all were full. I get to this place which is a gas station and the have a really nice rea to stay. They have Hot shower, toilet and laundry as well. It was really what I needed. I felt safe I slept the entire night in my car(car camping)without problem (I was by myself with my dog). Is super close to Lake crescent. The owner is really nice, I would definetly stay there again.

Booked a site two months ago on Hipcamp only for it to be canceled without warning. Contacted the RV park directly and they rebooked me using Campspot as they said they were discontinuing their account with Hipcamp. We get an email confirmation that we've modified our reservation and are apparently on a tent site now. What the heck? Call them again and they move to the site we originally requested. At this point I assume all is well. Now, less than two weeks before our trip, we get a cancellation confirmation email out of nowhere. I call them back and they say everything is completely booked now except for tent sites. Our vacation is now completely derailed since there is no vacancy anywhere nearby. Avoid this place at all costs!

The view is amazing and so is the wildlife. Sadly, I had seen this park pretty much go to ruins. Rules are not enforced, dogs barking throughout the day, drug central with Marijuana wafting around. We had to close our vents and windows so we couldn't smell it. Laundry facility was non existent. We showered in our rv because the showers were constantly running out of hot water or no pressure. People drive too fast. Dust bowl in the summer. Mud pit in the winter Lots aren't level. Prices at the convience store is too pricey. Cell service is horrible due to the mountains. Wifi is non existent. Well water is terrible. Our filter lasted three weeks! Then started smelling Sulphur. On a bad day I could smell where people don't dump their black tanks or the septic systems. I saw too many people leave for these very reasons and then some. It's a shame because it is beautiful. Even the locals in town know the reputation.

Don't even bother booking this place. I reserved a campsite two months before my trip through hipcamp. I got a message a couple weeks later saying my reservation had been canceled, so I booked with another campground, only to receive an email from shadow mountain RV saying my reservation had been moved to another platform. After days of calling, I finally got someone on the phone. I canceled the backup campground, lost money on hipcamp fees. Well, a couple of days ago, 10 days before my booking, I received another cancellation notice. Same song and dance as before. Received a "pencil in" confirmation, which required payment. I've already paid for this place. Tried calling several times......no joy. VM box is full. Thankfully I found somewhere else to book. It's not worth the headache.

I spent a couple of evenings here while fishing in and near Olympic National Park. Jeremy and his cute-as-a-bug's-ear teenaged son are wonderful hosts!! The little general store is well stocked and my campsite was perfect. There are showers onsite and laundry facilities if needed. I didn't utilize the showers, but I was glad to have a dryer when my jeans got wet! There are quite a few very long term residents, but everyone was friendly and respectful (not noisy) and with so many long term residents there I actually felt safer since I'm sure they have a pretty good idea of what's going on in the community and there were always people out and about. I will definitely stay here again the next time I want to go fishing in this area.

We booked here, an electrical site. Arrived, checked in, and while setting up discovered that the power box did not work. The office since closed. So we had no power. Okay, that's problem number 1. Then we go to connect to the wifi, there was no such network name that the guy gave us, so we tried a few options, but none went with the password he gave us. We're from Canada, so connecting to the wifi was essential for us. That's 2. Then in the woman's washroom there was no handsoap in the dispenser. 3. Thank God I have hand sanitizer. Lastly I've tried calling the office several times, never an answer, 5 times, the mailbox was full... 6th time I was able to leave a voice-mail. That's 4 strikes. Not at all happy with their service. We paid a decent amount of money for the site and didn't get what we were supposed to get. If they would answer their phone and I could get a resolution, I would be much happier. On a side note, the location is nice.

Every morning as I watch the clouds roll across the mountaintop, I am in AWE. This place has wonderful views! It's clean, friendly, and accommodating. Full hook-ups, laundry facilities, hot showers, and a convenient gas station, for those "I forgot to buy..." moments! A huge grassy area to play, great for fetch, just adds doggy approval too!

Visited Shadow Mountain RV Park on way back from my first solo RV vacation. Spent the night cooking and camping under the stars and had a great stay. The new owners were extremely friendly and accommodating.I was able to make my reservation quite easily over the phone and the process of checking-in went by swimmingly. Noise levels weren't a factor and other campers were nice as well. Many families and kids were around with no incidents whatsoever because of the size of the park - I didn't feel crammed in on top of other campers at all. The park was incredibly clean and I didn't find litter anywhere. Easy access to bathrooms and camping areas as well as picnic tables to eat. The whole situation was friendly and although I only stayed about 15 hours, I would definitely recommend staying here again. The park is also pet friendly and was one of the better RV parks that I came across on my journey from Ithaca, New York to Seattle, Washington. The new owners even gave my dog a biscuit when I checked in. Would definitely visit again. Oh yeah - and the price was very affordable. Overall, I had NO issues whatsoever!

My boyfriend and I were in need of an RV Spot for our travel trailer and were running out of options. We came across Shadow Mountain RV Park and luckily they had a spot for us for about a week....and with hookups! The workers were friendly and we found the RV Park to be in a great location in proximity to Olympic National Park. You can tell some of the other customers are long term residents but they were very friendly to us. We enjoyed our time there and are still so grateful to the RV park for saving our vacation essentially. :)

We haven't been traveling for awhile and had an itch for it so we drove our RV up until we came across this site in Port Angeles. We ended up staying for 5 days to check out the scenery and things to do while in town. The owners are nice just as well as the employees. The new owners told us that they just purchased the area since the previous owners retired. They didn't want to take care of the place anymore and wanted to relax during their retirement years. The RV Park area was really clean. The area we parked at was somewhat tight but there was an area for us to plug in the outlet to the sewer. Although, the road do get loud since it's close to it no matter what day it may be.We did camping outside and it was a nice weather to see while in the area. We drove from Florida and it's amazing to know that this is a pretty state. We got to chat with some nice people. Will definitely come back again but be more prepared next time. We will come back with more food and supplies to avoid overpaying when in the area. We will tell others about the place.

My son got stationed at the coast guard station in La Push . There was absolutely no place available for him to rent to live . We ended up buying a small camper for him to live in . The people at this campground did not have anything available but when they found out our situation they actually went the extra mile and made him a space to live in . Great people and beautiful place.
