My son's car went in to have the A/C diagnosed. $550 and two trips later, I was told the A/C compressor had to be replaced. Questioned the bill but was told their top master mechanic spent hours diagnosing the problem and so the bill was justified. Decided to have a look myself. I found that the compressor clutch did not move because the compressor was locked up. This took about 5 minutes to reach down to the compressor and feel it with my hand. Since all compressor clutches are freewheeling when not engaged, it's a sure indicator the compressor is bad. No way should this have been missed and it literally should have been the first thing they checked. Should have been one hour of diagnostic time at about $150.Service: Auto maintenance

I asked them up front if they would replace my wire harness and they said yes. I brought my car in and they said I needed a tune up, replace plugs ect. I already did that myself. Then they said it needed a fuel injection cleaner. I already use seafoam and change my oil all the time. Then they said they couldn t get the plugs out after i had already changed them myself lolol. Then they told me they wouldn t do the wire harness replacement and told me I had to pick my car up and charged me 289$ dollars for a fuel injector cleaner. Bruce is a scam artist, the mechanic is about as knowledgeable about cars as a rock. I would not take my vehicle there, I would not recommend these scam artists. Filling a complaint with the better business bureau and filing for a charge back. What goes around comes around.

Almost did business with these guys but ended up doing the repair myself as I arrived as they were closing for the weekend. The staff were very patient compassionate and helpful even though I showed up as they were closing. The quote was fair, if I had more time I would rather have waited for these mechanics honestly.Guys, my volvo made it through the ferry with a charged battery and got the alternator in vic! :) now back home

Both times I had them work on my Range Rover they correctly diagnosed and fixed the problem for a fair price. I highly recommend this shop.

David was able to get us in the same day I called & took care of my daughters car, as she was away from home & having car radiator issues. They shifted work around and got her in and took care of her car in no time! they were very nice and professional. Having a Volvo on the peninsula without a dealer anywhere near has been troublesome; however, I am glad I found a competent place to take my car for oil changes and maintenance. My brakes were squeaking and it wasn't found during the inspection, but they explained that it was likely a rock and they did not try to charge me for things I didn't need. Everyone was friendly here and the mechanic seemed to care and didn't just brush us off. I will be bringing my Volvo here for normal PM and if I ever have any other issues.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Auto maintenance, Oil change

I was on vacation from Salem, OR with a friend visiting from Texas and my car was not running correctly coming down from Hurricane Ridge. After replacing the ignition coils and my car still would not run properly I went to Bruce's at 8:30am Wed morning. Bruce and his staff were exceptional in not only listening but letting me know they would be able to look at my car the following week. I understood due to the current state of shortages everywhere and began making arrangements to return home and leave my car to get repaired.I received a call 6 hrs later stating that it someone canceled their appointment and they were able to fit my car in to see if there was anything that could be done. It was a simple fix, i authorized charges and was able to pick up my car by 4:30pm the same day and drive it back to Salem, OR!I would gladly stop by and bring them some baked goods if I am in the area again, Not only great people, customer service, but also work as well! Bruces took care of some major repairs and maintenance issues on my 2000 Toyota Tacoma in an incredibly short amount of time at a very reasonable cost. Their attention to my concerns and addressing them in a professional and thorough manner was unbeatable. I highly recommend them to anyone. Bruce's Specialty Auto is always my first choice for any car care needs. I have brought multiple cars to them over the years and never once was concerned about quality of repair or fairness of price for both emergent event and regular maintenance with full explanations and options! They always go the extra mile with pick up - drop off as available, or hold my vehicle when I am working out of state. Best car repair on the peninsula. PS: No im not related lol just a satisfied customer for 20+ years!

Had my Subaru engine replaced. Andy, Bruce and Sara are pros. Super knowledgeable, courteous and kind. My car runs awesome and I am so happy I chose them to do the work. Andy busted it out in 2 days, after they received the replacement. They do great work on Subes! Thank you all!

My son took his Chevrolet Tahoe here to get the heater fixed. They did a great job. He took it in on Thursday and got it back Friday. They do quality work here. It did cost somewhat more than he expected, but overall he was very satisfied with the work that was done.

Straight shooters over here. Fixed my pain in the a$$ mini cooper I got hosed on in a recent purchase. I had family visiting me from my home town and we were in Port Angeles/ONP spending the last few days of our time together. Not only did Bruce's pull my car in for a quick repair when they were completely booked up but Sarah also postponed her lunch break to accommodate me walking to pick up my car once finished. Couldn't thank them enough for a super speedy repair and reasonable pricing to get me and my family back on our vacation. Thanks again! Highly reccomend these guys

If you're looking for an honest and fair mechanic, stop here. Seriously. They will tell you exactly how cheap or expensive and how easy or how hard anything they do for you is. You absolutely cannot go wrong here.The last time I went in, it ended up being a stupid easy fix and they even showed me how to fix it in the future by myself.

I would highly recommend Bruce's Specialty Auto! I am new to the area and took my Mitsubishi Lancer in because of starting issues. I was very pleased with my experience. They were exceptionally friendly and easy to work with. The pricing was very fair and they did not overcharge or try sell me on unnecessary repairs. Bruce is very honest and this is the type of place that once you find, you will return to again and again!

As my wife and I were driving thru Port Angeles we had to make an emergency stop since our engine was misfiring. We have a VW Eurovan, a very tricky car to work on. We talked to a few locals and they all recommended Bruce. After taking it in, we left feeling exceptionally satisfied with the timely service and fair, honest pricing. The repair job was not an easy one and they went out of their way to explain every step of the way. These guys are very friendly as well!

They cant fix 20th century cars as their diag sensor doesnt go back that far. Well that and it would be nice if they called to say so but no charge.

I could not be happier. 1982 VW Vanagon parts are hard to come by. My shifter linkage was sloppy and they made a over the tank linkage bushing better than original. My CVC joints are bad and he gave me the best recommendation for quality repair and price. I will go back to get the other axle and boot with CVC joint and whatever else it may need. Way to go Bruce!

I had a very squeaky front end, they diagnosed the problem as control arm and ball joints. Had the parts ordered and installed in the same week, and no more squeaky truck!
