After being told my Jeeps transmission was leaking at another shop and they didn't want to do a transmission. They changed the oil. I called Motorworks for a complete look over. They were able to fit me in fairly quick. They looked it over and found that was not the issue at all. They also noted it's battery was starting to fail. They were very good with communicating. The time frame to fix as well as the cost. I feel they saved me money and time to repair or replace a transmission that didn't need it. I will definitely go here again and recommend them. Communication key! Nice place Nice people

Well, I am Ajit Parmar and had a car breakdown and a friend recommended this workshop, they repaired the Starting issue in just a couple of hours despite they had a busy schedule. I was impressed and ended up giving my other car Jetta too for a service.Excellent people, do stretch to accommodate your needs and the best part is fair on cost of repairs. Thanks Team MotorWorks

About a year ago I had an aftermarket clutch, flywheel and front sway bar installed on my 18 civic si. I bought the parts myself and for that reason most shops around the Bellingham area were unwilling to perform the work. Motorworks Northwest however was much more sensible and so they got my business. This shop was quite upfront about the process and performed the work quite quickly. A year on I still have no problems with the vehicle and would recommend this shop to anyone.

Ken and Teri are so awesome! I first met them when getting my oil changed, they warned me that I would need a brake job soon. A few weeks later I heard and felt grinding so I dropped it off with them and they had it done very quick! The price was good and their sense of humor is great! Very personable. While my car was getting repaired, I realized my son s baseball stuff was in it and he needed it. Ken was nice enough to lower the car down and let me get the stuff out of it in the middle of a repair job. Thank you Ken, Teri and SonServices: Brakes, Brake service & repair, Auto maintenance

Friendly and honest. Took my car for an estimate. They straight up told me it may not be worth it to fix. They even gave me suggestions of other vehicles that are reliable and may fit my lifestyle. They were happy to fix it if I wanted to. But suggested against it.

All about customer service and informing the customer. They sat down and showed me close-up pictures of what needed to be repaired (cracked radiator & 2 engine mounts replaced), then tried to get the parts delivered and the work finished in time to catch the ferry back to the island before the bank closed! And made it happen!!

Had a appointment scheduled for a Volvo . They decided to cancel me after i had a conversation with male owner. He was very condescending. Basically said that " coolant is coolant" as I need specific coolant for my aluminum radiator and should never mix with a different coolant.i voiced that his statement is not true.he was instantly defensive and rude. To question if I was to have the camseals replaced along with other components while replacing timing belt seemed to be too much for him. Puffed chest , false pride. This is where if a bad choice is made then customer will always be at fault. Lady was decent and I didn't meet any of the mechanics. Anyways, low and behold, they cancelled my appointment due to being "shorthanded".lmao. it's ok to admit that when it comes to euro cars you may be limited on knowledge.

Ken, Terry, and crew were incredibly proficient, professional , kind and fair. Cam shaft sensor went out on me on Friday on my way to work. Everywhere else I contacted was booked out for several weeks, but they were able to pencil me in for repair on Monday. I got a call back Friday and they were able to get it taken care of early! Car runs like a dream. Look no further for honest reliable and professional work! 10/10. You guys are the best in state!Services: Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic

Massive truck repairs are never fun... but the guys here where fantastic to work with to handle the long list of suspension, brake, and other work my old ram 2500 needed. They were honest and thorough with advice on other things that needed attention, more than happy to answer all of my questions, fair with prices, and they got it all done super quick! What more could ya ask for?

Highly recommended! Customer service was superb and the owners immediately made me feel like I could trust them with my car. Going in I originally thought my brakes needed to be replaced but the owner and technician showed me that my brakes were fine and helped me to understand why they were squeaking instead of trying to take my money and send me off with new brakes when my current ones didn t need to be replaced. Definitely will be returning for any upkeep I would need for my car.

Ken and Teri have been great to work with each of the times I have been in for work on my old vehicle. I know I was able to get honest feedback and good advice made on behalf me, the vehicle owner. No pressure to make business deals that would really just make a repair shop extra money.Always received an honest assessment of my vehicle and whether or not the repairs I was seeking were going to accomplish what I needed, though final decisions were still up to me. Good work from my experience as well.

Update to my last review (3/5/21):I took my vehicle into another mechanic over at Fudge Motors in Mount Vernon. Turns out that Motorworks had put the spark plug wires on incorrectly which is why it was misfiring and driving worse. These are basic problems that any professional mechanic should know how to fix yet the owner thinks it was fair to charge me for something they put in wrong. I didn t even want to be refunded for the spark plugs and wires, but they definitely owe me a refund for the labor costs because everything was done incorrectly. Also, if they didn t have the proper equipment to work on my vehicle in the first place they should have said so when I called or brought it in to save me the time and money.(3/4/21) I would not recommend this place to anyone. Where do I begin...I took my car in here to get a diagnostic test done which I was quoted $160. They called me back and said that a couple spark plugs and wires needed to be replaced and that would be an extra $75. The guy over the phone that called me said it would originally be $225-$250 total and I would get a phone call if it were going to cost more which is a call I never received. I go in 2 days later to pick my vehicle up and find out the bill is actually $400 because of the time they spent in labor that they couldn t figure out what was going on and I was referred to another mechanic. I was shown pictures of the spark plugs and wires replaced as if that was supposed to justify their reasoning for charging me to do next to almost nothing. I was told they were banging their head against the wall to figure out the problem . He actually suggested I sell my vehicle and buy the same exact one on Craigslist because I was driving what he referred to as a money pit. I drove my vehicle there in working condition as a daily driver. I drove out of the parking lot with my vehicle running far worse than when I brought it in. It began choking and could barely go past 35 mph without it wanting to break down and then started to overheat. My vehicle has NEVER done this. We called the shop to inform them of the issue and he was completely condescending and unprofessional. He offered absolutely no kind of refund, only to charge me more to look further at the problem that they created. Stay far away from this place if you expect any kind of reasonable customer service. If I could give this place zero stars I would. HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!Service: General repairs & maintenance

If I could give them zero starts I would! I brought them my car for a new alternator, but when I got it back it was dragging a skid plate, the tires were out of alignment, and there are dents underneath my car. when I brought it up to them, the owner got loud, and very stern, telling me it must have been my fault! After talking to others, they had experience with their car returned with zero gas and hundreds of miles put on their car. This place is not recommended at all!Service: Electrical repair

Always tough to find an honest and dependable mechanic. I was very happy with the work done on my old Ford F-250 diesel. Gave me a quote then knocked $100 off when the work was done. Say what? I had them work on my diesel truck, is more expensive than I thought it would be I ended up paying out $1,700 to get a water pump changed and a couple pulleys put on and they put a couple sensors on I mean I don't feel like I got ripped off I just feel as a little expensive but they are a good shot they did the quality work

Ken, his son, and their crew are who you want to work on your car. My wife and I were on vacation recently passing through the area and were lucky enough to find Motorworks. The guys dropped the fuel tank, replaced the fuel pump and had us back on the road in 4 hours start to finish. I appreciate the excellent work, but these guys are amazingly nice too boot and gave us great advice on places to check out in the area while we were there. I'm sure they don't need more business than they already have, but seriously... you won't go wrong at Motorworks.

RARE! Honest, very fair family business! Stop looking around, this business is what everyone is looking for. I did business with them several times with several different vehicles. In fact they didnt charge for one service because it was a super simple repair. I couldn't believe it. Any other garage would have charged me hundreds and blamed it on something else. Prices were very fair compared to online prices. If you do go with these guys ...tip them, they deserve it!

I went to Motorworks NW for oil change, lube, and multi point inspection. They scheduled me same day and completed the work in about an hour and a half or sooner. They told me my brake pads were getting near maximum wear but not immenient on the day of service. Service was completed for under $50.00. The local lube shop may be cheaper but I think it's reassuring to have actual mechanics performing the service work. I will probably take my other vehicle to MWNW for service when it's due.

This is now my go-to shop. I'm so glad I took my car here. The employees were friendly and easy to talk to. They took the time to listen to me, and treated me with respect. The price was perfectly reasonable.

I'm in the area working from out of state. I had some issues with my truck on the way up here. They were able to get me in a timely manner and repair my truck. My bill was not more than they had quoted me. Overall a good experience. Thanks! Motor works Northwest.

We are very satisfied with the great customers service ken provides and the amazing mechanical work nick and the other mechanics do. We recently took in our 2005 tahoe with bad water pump, its my wifes truck and uses it for work so we were hoping we would be able to get it before close of buissness. The guys worked hard did an amazing job truck is running great and they also made sure we were aware of bad belts and thermostat. Good price great work. Thanks ken and moter works !!!!

I was very lucky to have my car break down on the highway just a mile from Motorwerks during my 6 week road trip. They were very helpful and even gave me a ride to a local motel to wait for the repair. My car was repaired before I even had breakfast the next morning and for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended for any type of repair.
