Responsive to hand over a quote, but... terrible customer service, unfortunately. They seem very smart and knowledgeable but were unable to coordinate a time for me to bring in my vehicle over the course of four months. Taking my costly repair elsewhere for a better deal (half of A&C'S estimate) with a turnaround time of a week.

I don t like to give bad reviews I paid over $1500 to have an oil issue repaired. A few days later my car broke down again and when I called they told me to have it towed there. I had to pay $300 for the tow and they would not even offer me a discount. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

I want to preface this review by saying that I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to car repairs. Finding someone that I trusted was a long, arduous process. A&C Automotive is right down the street from me so I figured I d give them a try. My first experience with them was for an oil change. My car uses full synthetic so I was expecting a rather pricey oil change. Total cost came to about $70. Compare this to the nearly $100+ that Jiffy Lube charges for the same job. I also noticed that, unlike Jiffy Lube, they placed a sticker in my window for my next oil change. Instead of telling me my next change HAD to be in 3,000 miles, they wrote me down for the next 10,000 miles (common for full synthetic from what I hear). My next job for the shop was for strange noises I was hearing in the front of my tires. They were able to pinpoint the source of the problem and give me a detailed rundown of what was happening and what it was likely going to cost. I was given two estimates: one for $500 and one for $1200. It shows a lot of honesty that they didn t try charging me for the $1200, regardless of the work done. The job was done in good time and I haven t had an issue since. All of the employees are very professional and talk to me like a person. Being a woman, it s common for shops to try and up charge for unnecessary work. I give a lot of credit to Janice for being so helpful and professional. Overall, I d recommend this local shop to anyone needing work done.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

Just had them replace my rear brake rotors, pads, calipers. I think this is the very first time I've had a mechanic that got it done the same day I brought my car in. Both Janice and Alan that I met were super nice, and told me in detail what had caused the issue with the one side badly scraping.So happy to find an honest, highly rated, affordable and very professional mechanic so close to my new home! Will definitely always use them going forward and recommend them to others.Service: Brakes

For most of my life I have been a "Do it Yourself(er)" when it comes to auto repairs. I have gotten away with that approach until I had a major engine repair to do, pull the head, timing, oil pan etc. Everything went well except I did not get the timing right (go figure, I have never done it before). I was referred to A & C Automotive by a close friend and I chose to follow up with that recommendation. When I went in I met Jan, I found her to be professional, straight up and honest. I explained my circumstances of the repairs I have already done but I was confounded by some engine codes I was getting. She stated they can resolve these issues without any problem. When I asked the ultimate question of "How much will this run me?" The price she quoted was accurate and she explained the labor cost and price of parts to my satisfaction. Long story short they did a fabulous job. Recently I had another trouble code for a faulty sensor. I returned to them for service to resolve my issue. For as long as I live in the Mount Vernon area I will continue to seek out their business. Mediocre Shop.I have used them for the last 2 years and have 50 / 50 success.I have a major leak in my car. When it rains my car becomes soaked inside. I was told it was debris that somehow plugged up in front of my windshield was the cause, and the cure. Fast forward to next rainy season and my car literally has an inch of standing water in the back seat.I asked them to fix my windshield fluid nozzle because it has broken and no longer points at the windshield. They told me they wouldn't do it because they can't get parts. I asked if they could just find away to epoxy it and they said no.I had brought my pickup truck in for an electrical problem. The battery would just drain if I did not use the truck for a few weeks, and it would be completely dead requiring a charge. They replaced the Alternator. I still have this exact problem. I understand electrical problems are tough to solve but throwing parts at it trying to get lucky and find it costs me lots of money.Brought my wife's SUV in to have all the fluids looked at and changed. Within a few weeks she was getting oil warning alarms. Turned out they did not put in the recommended amount of oil for the Cadillac SUV. She took it to another place where they discovered this and topped it off. No more oil warnings.They've done other work that turned out well but with these issues in less than 2 years I'm just not able to give them a true positive review. They have solved some of my issues but as you can read I'm still suffering through some major issuesServices: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

I ve brought my vehicle to this location several times. I love that they provide me detailed cost breakdowns for the work I need done. I ve never had to bring my car back for rework, maintenance is always in a timely manner, and staff is friendly.

I recently went to A&C to have work done on my car and I have to say I will never go back, nor will I recommend them to any family or friends. I paid them $1,500 to fix my car, instead they replaced a part on my car that had nothing to do with the problem and then charged me the $1,500 and gave me my car back still broken. On top of getting robbed, they said the job would only take 2 days, and it was in their shop for almost 2 weeks! Never going back ever.

As a retired Mechanic, I can vouch for the honesty, and reliability of A & C. I have known Allan now for 5 years, and Janice longer. I have every confidence in these people. Allan and his crew are knowledgeable and skilled. Above all, they are honest. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Was extremely helpful, took me in right away, when air-conditioning in truck, stopped working. Wouldn't of been a Hugh problem, except, had dog inside truck, and it was rather HOT. Will recommend them to friends.
