I have had two recent positive experiences with with Monroe Foreign Auto, and would gladly recommend them to anyone! Great communication & reasonable prices.They showed a lot of generosity when they discovered irreparable engine damage on a Mitsubishi truck I asked them to look at for a no-start issue. They would have been justified in charging me for more than they did in the end, but they were sympathetic with my situation.Most recently, they did a pre-purchase inspection for me on a 2000s Subaru Outback. I got a very comprehensive report, including input on which items were high-priority work versus preventative maintenance.Thanks Chris, Josh, and all the techs who took a look at my cars!

Pros:They got me in within 24 hrs of my initial call.Replaced the bad pump within 36 hrs of initial call.The car was already diagnosed so i knew it needed the inverter water pump. I was told on my initial call it would be 445 out the door.Cons:I was charged a diagnostic fee of 175.04. Charged 682 for the repair. Total charges 885.When I asked why the cost doubled from the previous day there was no coherent answer.That is the very definition of click bait. Told its one price, bring it in and being charged another price. I was backed into a corner from the get go being charged for a second diagnostic fee. Couldn't afford that and repairs at the dealership both. Next time I'll go straight to the dealership.

So glad we found them. Brought my car in for a noise and they did a full inspection and researched the noise. Found it was a common issue with the car and no repairs were needed. I expected a larger bill but they only charged 30 minutes of tech time. Will definitely be back.

They took GREAT care of my daughter's Fiesta, showing not only great expertise and ability to address the issues, but especially an outstanding customer care. They have immediately become our Goto shop for mechanical repairs for our cars and I cannot recommend them enough! It is so hard to find reliable shops, let alone honest and kind people...I'm so impressed we found both qualities in this shop...a hidden gem!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

I was nervous at first. It's hard being a woman and needing mechanic work. You ladies know what I mean. The manager was so nice and friendly. He really listened to me and they fixed my car for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!!! I'll. Be back when something else goes wrong!!!! Thank you!!!!

I had my car towed here over the weekend when it broke down. I called them Monday morning when they open. I told them what was going on with it, and before I could finish, he told me he wouldn t work on it because it was diesel. Car in question is a 2002 VW beetle TDI.Not sure they realize, but a least of quarter of German cars are diesel. Every single foreign repair shop in the area works on diesel cars.They told me to tow it back out of there. So I had to call a tow truck all over again and I had it towed to the shop I always go to, Z sport euro in everett. They work on diesel cars and have people who know what they re doing.I didn t feel the need to get mad over the phone, it wasn t going to help anything, they weren t rude either. I m just dumbfounded I was told that. Maybe hire someone who can do that? You re losing money by not working on diesel cars.

This is the BEST shop you could take your car to. I don t know anything about cars whatsoever and I hate taking my car in because I worry about being taken advantage of. These guys are so honest and transparent about their prices and only fix what needs to be fixed. My car had a small electrical issue that prevented the car from starting and they did multiple things to get the car fixed for me. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone with a foreign car. Brought my 2009 smart for two convertible in for an oil change, routine maintenance, and a rough drive. I mentioned that the rear latch was broken, but could be opened with a thin wire. The back access is needed to add oil to the car. Well, the part must have gotten worse as a wire wouldn t open the back. The mechanics at Monroe Foreign Auto spent a lot of time trying to get eat there her back open. I came to see if I had any suggestions. They were so positive when I m sure that they were frustrated. They were able to bypass the latch and use the electrical system to open the back. They were able to change the oil and fix the rough ride for a fair price in a timely manner. Great service and a positive experience, I recommend them for all your foreign auto needs.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Brought in with suspicions of a bad clutch slave cylinder. As they got inside the clutch housing they discovered other bad parts and were very good about communicating with me on the progress. This was the first time I ever had anyone work on my vehicles besides myself, and I have to say the experience was excellent. Definitely recommend to anyone that wants quality work done in a timely fashion.Service: Transmission

I've been using this mechanic's shop for a few years now. They are the BEST!! They have awesome prices and GREAT mechanics! They will actually only do what is necessary and what you have authorized. They will get your work done quickly and correctly. They almost always throw in some little extras that they don't charge for. We are truly blessed to have these folks in our neighborhood. If you are having any car issues, these are the best folks you can go to, bar none!!!

I brought my 2000 F350 in to replace the transmission filter and fluid and transfer case fluid change. I asked the manager to have a engine oil leak checked out, I thought it was the rear engine seal. As it turned out, it was the valve cover gasket so they replaced both. After getting everything back together again they found another leak towards the back and had to dissasemble everything again but I was not charged labor for this, just the new gasket. Then one of the turbo pipes broke as they were dissassembling to get to the leak and they fixed that on their own, so this was not a easy job.These guys working on my truck went the extra mile and did not take advantage of me. I will be back to this shop for future needs as they have my full confidence and trust not only as a business but as great mechanics. Needed an oil change and transmission fluid change for my Volkswagen, every other place i had gone to would either say they couldn't do it or would try to charge an absurdly amount. I called first thing in the morning gave me my quote within 5 minutes and charged me a fair amount. They gave me a ride home and completed it all within the day. They called me a week later to check I was all good, over all i can say they are trustworthy and reliable! Will be recommending this place to my friends.

This place is absolutely awesome! I called on Thursday. They got me in on Friday morning.My car was diagnosed and fixed that same day. The price that I paid was very reasonable! They even offered to drop me off nearby at work when I came to drop my car off in the morning. I am extremely pleased with the amazing service! They greatly exceeded my expectations. My serpentine belt broke and AAA recommended Monroe Foreign Auto. While I was waiting to be towed, someone from the Fire Department stopped and asked if I was okay. He had just had some work done on his own vehicle at Monroe Foreign Auto and highly recommended them. He was right. Excellent service. I had been getting oil changes at one of those quick service places and was never told that the serpentine belt needed to be replaced. I am now getting my oil changed at Monroe Foreign Auto. I recently had my headlights buffed for better visibility and a new battery. Great service. I am not a good judge on price but seemed reasonable to me and the oil change was actually less than where I was going.

What a great find! If you are looking for a place to have your car serviced and you are in the Monroe area this should be your first choice. I just moved across country with my family and wanted to make sure the noises my brakes were making were not something serious. They did the break inspection and determined nothing was needed. Prices were reasonable and they are AAA approved. I am a huge fan of small town businesses and will continue to be their patron.

After purchasing a used car and only driving it for only 100 miles before it broke down on the side of the road, we were in need of some answers. Luckily, we had our car towed to Monroe Foreign Auto. Bret was extremely helpful and empathetic to our situation. We told him that the repair would have to go through a warranty service, and he graciously offered to advocate for us by being the go-between. He gave us constant updates about the process of having the car repaired, and was able to relay what the warranty service was saying in reference to what that meant for us. He gave us sound advice and explained our options in a way that made us feel like someone was looking out for us. In the end, a fine print technicality in our warranty did not end up covering all the needed repairs, and any work done would have likely be coming out of our pocket. But instead of allowing us to be taken advantage of by a warranty service that would not commit to fixing the problem until a costly amount of work was completed, he told us the truth about the situation, and saved us a lot of money. We are extremely appreciative of Bret s professionalism, kindness and honest approach to running a business and taking care of the vehicles in our community. If we ever have a need them again in the future, we will definitely take our vehicle to Monroe Foreign Auto Repair, as well as recommend their service to anyone else.Service: Engine repair

Mike and his crew are fantastic! My engine light went on (EEK!) and he was able to squeeze me in and fix my car that very same day. He was so helpful. He explained everything and made me feel so at ease. They did a fantastic job with my car too. I can't recommend this business more.

I brought my Hyundai in for scheduled maintenance and, as always, my car was ready when they said it would be ready. They added on a brake job after checking them and finding them in need of replacement. Since the car was there, they were willing to replace the brakes then and I was good to go. These guys are excellent.

Update - 5 years later... same car, a few more visits, car running well, still happy with themAnother satisfied customer. They got my 10 year old BMW fixed up for a much better price and with a better overall experience than the dealership where I had always taken it since I bought it new. Plus they are close to where I live. I am very happy to know I have a local place to take my care now!

This is the only repair shop I will use now. They have always been honest and upfront, which I really appreciate. I had work done on my truck a few weeks ago, and when the same issue started happening again - I was told to bring my truck back in. Monroe Foreign Auto was true to their warranty and took care of the problem at no extra cost. They take very good care of their customers and do excellent work!

Better price for new spark plugs than other Eastside locations I checked, and service was great.
