Great couple of experiences here so far! Jay the owner, takes care of his people. I paid about a grand to get my timing belt done plus some other work. I then had some complications afterwards with the crank shaft seal. Jay & his team of highly skilled mechanics found a fix free of charge to me. I had to leave my car with them for 2 days but they didn t charge me more for the inconvenience. This is one of the best shops in the entire county to get repairs done. I wouldn t look anywhere else for fair pricing and excellent service.Thanks for your hard work and dedication and care for my car guys! You rock

I brought my Honda to this shop due to starting issues, based on positive reviews and a family referral. My aim was to find an honest and trustworthy mechanic, but unfortunately, that didn't happen.Upon inspection, I was informed that my car needed a new starter, and for a same-day service, it would cost nearly $700. Despite the high cost, I agreed. I picked up my car later that day, but after a few days, it still wouldn't start. When I contacted the shop, the owner scheduled me a week later. I left my car at 9 am and retrieved it later that day. The owner claimed nothing was wrong.The next day, my car failed to start again. Seeking a second opinion, I went to another mechanic who revealed that the starter was never replaced. It turned out the original starter from my car was still in place. I had to pay the new mechanic to install a starter. I didn't feel comfortable letting Japanese Auto Care work on my vehicle at this point.Feeling scammed and taken advantage of, I spent considerable time and money addressing the issue. The owner had my car for almost two full days but failed to realize he hadn't installed the starter. This experience left me frustrated, especially considering the time off work and the unnecessary expenses.It's disheartening that this business owner didn't catch the mistake, and it raises concerns about their negligence. They happily took my money without providing the promised service.As a side note, the owner claimed to have returned the starter to the supplier three days after its supposed installation. This further highlights the lack of attention to detail and negligence on the part of the business owner(Jay).While I received a refund for the non-existent service, it doesn't compensate for the time lost at work and the constant worry about my car's reliability. I strongly advise against wasting your time and money at this establishment.

Brought in my wife s car for wiper blade issue and they were able to figure out and fix issue right away. They also changed my spark plugs for way less than the dealership Lexus dealership couldn t even figure out the initial problem I took it in for, but always has a list of recommendations that have nothing to do with why you brought it in they want you to do.I will be bringing in all my cars to Japanese Auto going forward. The owner is a master mechanic and he runs a tight ship. I trust his shop.

Have taken my SantaFe here for about a decade. I trust this place so much in regards to honesty, integrity, and ability that as I shop for a new car, I am looking only for models they can work on in the future as needed.

Best place to take your car. They will keep it straight and fix your car quickly and will try to minimize the cost. Been going here since 2008 and they have never left me astray.

I have been going here for as long as I can remember. Jay is always kind to me and takes really good care of my car. He doesn't overcharge me. For the quality of work he does his prices are more than fair.He also works on American cars. It's best to make an appointment but sometimes he can look at the car right away for an assessment which is awesome.Another thing I really like about this business is that Jay wears a mask to help me stay safe. It's something he doesn't have to do but is so considerate to my health issues he does. That's the best kind of person to give business to.He has worked on my Toyota Echo and my Pontiac Vibe. I had mass air flow sensor replacement, breaks, gasket replacement, headlight, radiator fan, transmission flush, and oil changes done here. Everytime there was never an issue after the work was completed.I recommend this shop for all your auto needs. :)

In my 40 year driving history, I've never found a more trustworthy Auto shop where integrity is their top priority.The work is done in a timely manner and on schedule.I have no need to have my vehicle serviced any place else.

Jaye and his crew provide outstanding car care and customer service. I drive a very old and much cherished Honda Element and had been seeking a dependable repair shop for a long time. The quality of their repair work, coupled with their courtesy towards customers, makes me feel so fortunate to have found them. For the 6 years I ve been coming to them, I ve received Best auto work experience i've ever had.I've used these guys for my 2003 Toyota Echo and 2008 Toyota Tundra for any repairs. and never once have I felt cheated or have they tried to sell me something that I didn't need. Since I live on Whidbey Island, couple of years back I had brought my Tundra to check on a transmission because of the engine light kept coming on. I brought it to couple of local shops on Whidbey and they all has said the same thing; (Transmission Needs to be Replaced). Even though their shop was far from Whidbey, I brought it to Jay and after running Diagnostics, he immediately spotted the problem and was told it was one of the Solenoids went bad.. Instead of paying 4k to 7k on the transmission replacement, I wound up spending about far less and will never go back to anyone else He and his crew are always and I mean always fair and honest and always professional.They might not have that much to say, when describing issues, but they more than make up on Service and Professionalism And I won t go to anyone else..Jay, I usually drop doughnuts off to you guys after any work is complete, but yesterday when you and your staff fixed my Turn Signal issues on my Echo. I didn t have time to get it for But I ll be sure to get some for you folks next time..Thank you again to Jay and all his crew..SincerelyJ. DemirkService: Electrical

We have been going here for at least 10 years. They are trustworthy, honest, , really know what they're doing.The previous review from Even is very insensitive and misleading. This person apparently has little understanding of cultural differences. I'm not sure what keeping paper records has to do with excellent car repair. They have great computerized equipment. The best value around! Jay and his crew provide top-notch service for the most reasonable prices. Always friendly and patient to explain things. I've taken many cars to Japanese Auto Care over the years and they've always taken good care of me. They aren't one of those shops that try to sell extra services that aren't necessary. Truly a great find

Wasted my time coming here. The owners and mechanics are weak in English. They agreed to change the fog lamp bulbs and called me to the shop,but when I arrived they denied service . Wasted time and money. I would not trust them as they do not keep up on their words . Be aware and chose a dealership with better trained mechanics unless your vehicle is all beaten up.Service: Electrical

Wow what to say about these guys. There's great customer service, then there is this shop one step above that. Came in with a difficult oil leak problem on my Subaru and after replacing a few parts it still had some leaks. They were so concerned with taking care of the customer that they did a whole bunch of stuff no charge to me. That kind of desire to make sure the customer is happy is rare these days. I recommend these guys to everyone now! Not to mention their prices are fantastic!

Best auto work experience i've ever had. I've used these guys for year on my 96 Honda Accord, and never once have I felt cheated or have they tried to sell me something that I didn't need. Always professional and quick, never have I needed to wait till the next day to get my car. 100% recommend them to anyone looking for honest quality work.

Friendly? No. Zero personality, frankly. Never seen a smile, kind word or asking a customer a question -- dry as desert personalities. That's OK, but seems to dislike interactions over about ten seconds causes constant misunderstanding. Honest? Only they know, they don't explain anything or prove honesty, EVER. Don't explain bill when paying. It is like religion, you just 'believe'. Disorganized? Yes, condition of the place is off-rails, but worse, no computer system, it is 1968 there. Can go there for years -- they WON'T know you, your name, nor have any clue what they did previously for any of your cars. Change car, you are a new customer. No tracking anything. Even worse: No advice on what to consider fixing in future. No safety inspection, NO checking issues past your original concern. You went here when other places found problems and estimates seemed high. You describe that issue, they fix only that as if they are sub-contractor to inspection shop for that one issue. PRICE was ONLY reason you went here. Price now equal to other small shops as of 2019-20.

Excellent place to take your Japanese & other imports. I've beengoing to this shop for years. They have been fair, do good workand reasonable cost and will do almost everything. They inspire confidence and felt like they are an extended family mechanic. Jay is great to work with. Thanks Jay!

JAY is the most honest, hardworking person. I found this shop when looking who could help me with my Japanesse cars( I have a Lexus and husband also). Jay has been nothing but helpful, reasonable when it comes to cost and HONEST!!!!! is hard to find people like that in this field anymore. Will recommend to anyone looking for auto care and repair. 1000% customer satisfaction. i have been coming fro the last year and half and no complaints!
