Bret's repair is great. I discovered his business when a family member brought their vehicle in for service. The local dealership's service center has gone downhill. I'm switching to Bret's for service and maintenance on all our cars.

For almost a decade, Bret has been our go-to mechanic for servicing and repairing our vehicles, including an Acura, Audi, and Volvo. Bret is a skilled, trustworthy, and dedicated mechanic who consistently delivers on his work and word. Regardless of the scope of work, I would have no reservations recommending Bret's to anyone in need of vehicle repairs or scheduled maintenance.

Bret and his team are simply amazing. Everything you can ask for. Honest, reliable, fair prices, upfront , and amazing to work with and talk to. Bret's , is affordable and fair you definitely get ur Bang for ur Buck.I have had problems with shop's that clam knowledge of repairs on Acura.But the work completed sure showed me that they didn't even know what they were talking about.So I definitely give Bret's and Bret himself a five Starr rating....Thank You For Your Service

I was told the electrical issue with my 2015 Chrysler 300 was not the Altenator but the rear electrical fuse box in the trunk needed to be replaced. I had the car towed to another shop and after they replaced the altenator, it runs just fine. While the car was parked for the tow truck to pick the car up, someone hit the front driverside fender and bumper. If they would have replaced the altenator first like I suggested, maybe the car would not have a dent in the front.Service: Electrical repair

Brett has done a few jobs for my 2008 G37 Coupe which not a lot of shops want to work on because of the modifications. However his team has gone above and beyond with servicing my car. I'll continue to use Brett for all my vehicles and would strongly recommend him and his team to others.

Been going to Bret for many years because I trust him to be capable and honest and fair. Customer satisfaction is his aim. He has tenaciously solved some maddening problems in my old Jeep diesel over the years. I trust his judgement, analysis and recommendations without hesitation. Always provides options. The best, most trustworthy, friendly, understanding, flexible (to a degree); automotive shop in the business. People search far and wide for a shop that will shoot it straight and work with you to do the right thing.Bret's is one of a kind, and it's only kind of a shame that so many people agree. They tend to be busy with all the hard work that's done. I drive from Everett to get work done because I've never had a bad experience here.

As always, the service at Bret s is superb. Everyone there is friendly and knowledgeable; they take the time to listen and explain things. They repaired my ancient car perfectly and for a quite reasonable price. I m really appreciative of the time they took to find the rather elusive problem. My Toyota Highlander passenger door was not unlocking and locking with my key fab or the automated locks (which is actually really annoying). I took it to Toyota service and they said it would be a minimum of $1,000 to go through and reset all the locks and repair the issue.My Sister who lives in Lake Stevens drives all the way to Edmonds for this repair shop - so I knew they were good. I took it into Bret's and within 4 hours they had the issue identified and fixed (was $200 total). Turns out when we had a window repaired from a break-in a long time ago, the plug inside the door was disconnected and never reconnected, so it was a simple fix (just had to pay for labor to take the door apart and find this issue).I will ONLY take my car here moving forward. SUPER nice front desk staff, reasonably priced and trustworthy. Will recommend to friends and family! So happy to have this fixed without spending over $1,000!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Bret s came highly recommended but after a few visits we had a really terrible experience with multiple errors and won t be going back. They forgot to put our hubcaps back on 2 of 4 tires and never returned a call about that, so we had to replace on our own. They forgot to swap our break pads (which was the entire point of the service appt). And lastly during an oil change they changed oil to conventional (not recommended for our vehicle) when synthetic has always been used for the vehicle and is recommended for the vehicle. They did not ask if this switch was ok with us so that was shocking. Do not trust them with our vehicles any longer.*Edited to add this was my vehicle (I am registered owner) but my husband who has a different last name than me is the one who picked it up and scheduled service.

Bret was so awesome and fit me in for a buyer's inspection last minute! I am so grateful that he figured out the work that needed to be done and helped me feel more confident when purchasing my first car. This is my new auto place. They managed to get me in fast while other places were booked out for weeks. They diagnosed the issue and got the part quickly. I called Bret's for an oil change and came back to have my SUV looked over before I drove it cross country. I had a minor issue with the trunk not opening to be fair (I break things). Anyway, Bret made some calls and referred me to a place that would be able to fix my BMW. Always friendly, always welcoming, extremely fair prices. If that wasn't motivation, the resident dog is. He is welcoming and always up for bum scratch. 13/10 Would visit again.Services: Electrical, Oil change

I had a general idea of what was wrong with my truck so I was able to do some price comparison from a few different shops; Bret's being one recommended to me by a friend.Bret offered not only the best price, but also the most comprehensive repair. Quick turn-around time, explained everything, and did a great job. Bret is a easy guy to talk to and the business is low pressure and very friendly.Would definitely come back to Bret's.

A no-nonsense experience. My Civic needed a brake job (based on what dealer told me) and I was looking for a second opinion/pricing. Bret has been very straight forward on his approach. After I dropped off my car, he called me within a reasonable time frame. He explained what needs to be done with the brakes. Once I agreed with it (along with the price) he finished the job exactly when he said he would.And did I say he arranged for a loaner car while mine was in his shop. This was a pleasant surprise for meBret's price is not the cheapest (compare to what various dealers gave me) but his scope of work was broader and so I felt it was worth itThe front desk lady has been very pleasant to customers as wellWill come back for any future needs. Everytime I have my vehicle serviced at Bret's, I am blown away by their amazing customer service. I have never met a mechanic as honest and caring as Bret and I will NEVER take my car anywhere else. Besides the quality work and customer service, the prices are better than anywhere else I've been - and believe me, I've checked. Bret's Independent is the best of the best!

I have taken my daughters car to Bret's twice for different issues. Both times were things I thought would be very expensive but they ended up being relatively inexpensive. Bret was honest and super helpful. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great and trustworthy mechanic. Although I don't expect every time to an auto shop will be cheap I can now count on it being fair and honest. Thanks for your genuine care for your customers.

Quality service! Great pricing! Friendly staff! Highly recommend for all makes and models of cars. I have taken GMC, Subaru, Hundi and Ford's to brets and always better price and service then other shops and dealers. Also they can usually make the repairs in 1/2 -1/3 of the time other shops can right now. One shop said 3-4 weeks to get parts then schedule repairs. Bret had it repaired in 3 days. From my first call. Like I said Quality!!!

The Best repair shop around. Bret is on top of it and I can trust that my car is going to be taken care of.He also has the best office staff so friendly and helpful everytime I've called or been in to pick up my car.

Bret and his team are awesome in their expertise, efficiency and close attention to a very high quality of work. Whatever is wrong with my Lexus -- and they specialize in the Asian makes -- is quickly and completely fixed. I heard about Bret through my in-laws, as I was having difficulty with my 2008 VW Rabbit. I took my vehicle in to see Bret and he was very professional, very honest and explained things so that I could understand what was going on. I appreciate working with mechanics that are honest and who go the extra mile to make sure they are giving you the most accurate assessment of the condition of your vehicle. I will continue to bring my cars to Bret's and highly recommend his services to anyone who needs help with their car.

I highly recommend Bret s! I ve had several Honda s over the last 15 years and they ve always come through. Very friendly, professional and honest. Very reasonable and so easy to work with. I m so relieved to have a place to take my car to other than the dealership and know it s going to fixed at a fair price and quickly. I ve seen them take care of all their customers.

We took our car to a dealer for oil change. They said we needed $1800 in work like valve cover gasket,water pump belt and wheel alignment.We heard of brets as being top notch thus had them validate needed work.Much to our surprise they said none of that work was needed!!!Thank you thank you thank you for your honesty. We cant thank you enough. You just got new customers and will have all our cars serviced by your business..Truly,Jerry

Absolutely amazing and worth every penny. Bret is honest and does quality work. I've been coming to him for 3 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. He uses parts from the specific car manufacturers and it shows how well they work compared to cheap generic parts. Keep up the good work!
