This was the perfect place for a group rental. We rented all 10 rooms so we had the Hotel all to ourselves. The place is gorgeous and special. Renovated rooms are well equipped and comfortable. So many great spaces for family to visit. The manager was responsive and easy to work with. The only downside to our visit was I wish we had stayed longer!

All of the essentials! Very cozy and has everything you need for a quick stay.Trains might wake you in the middle of the night, as most old buildings aren't soundproof.Overall a great little overnight stop in between places!

We didn't actually stay here, but we still got charged for 1 night. I called well in advance to cancel our reservation, which they confirmed. After seeing the charge on our credit card, I called the hotel to ask that it be removed. They said there were two reservations for the same dates, and only one was cancelled. I certainly didn't intentionally make two reservations, and the person I talked to when cancelling never mentioned the second reservation. Very poor customer service and quite unforgiving. Watch out if you make a reservation here!

The Inn is rich in history and the owners have brought that character to life in the furnishings throughout. The bar room and dining room have kept the original look, and the private courtyard has a really cool vibe that is amazing! The Hosts take very good care of the guest much like a B&B.....You will become friends. The food is top shelf such that you will have no need to leave during your stay.Highly recommended!

My stay at the Lyle wasn't planned. I had an unexpected delay flying out of DC to Phoenix, and need a place to rest and refresh for the night. After searching Hopper for about 20 minutes, I chose the Lyle because I love boutique properties and it looked really charming in the photos. My check-in went smoothly and Johnny Pelzer extended the warmest welcome. I've worked as a hotel manager and chef for 15+ years and I can say with certainty that hospitality is not simply a checklist of tasks to ensure someone's comfort or to make them feel welcome--hospitality is a behavior, core belief, and attitude. Hotels and restaurants tend to prioritize commerce and often hospitality gets lost. The Lyle gave me everything in way of "technically": great hospitality--even more I was offered an attitude of hospitality. I hope to return to stay for much longer than a single night soon.On a separate the hotel restaurant was fantastic! The service was attentive without being overbearing, the soundtrack was perfectly curated--and as a restaurant chef I loved every dish, they were executed flawlessly. The old fashion using Four Roses was a perfect partner to the short ribs.

The staff at the hotel are absolutely wonderful. They were very helpful and polite. We found our room to be clean and comfortable. The food on the menu looked fantastic. We only had wine as we had a dinner to go to, but all the food that other people ordered looked very appetizing. We will go back again as it is perfectly situated if you are going to be visiting any wineries and wish to make a weekend of it.

Great place. Wouldn't hesitate to come back. Added bonus is bar and restaurant. Food offered was very high quality. We had homemade smoked olives, crab cakes and dipping bread in garlic olive. Lovely ciders, beer and wine options. Open backyard patio and evening music made for a beautiful evening. Many thanks.

Staying at the Lyle Hotel was refreshingly unique experience. The owners were welcoming and super helpful, we enjoyed interaction with other hotel guests and loved the antique furniture and decor. Unfortunately, the restaurant and bar were closed due to COVID-19, so we'll have to come back because we've heard it's a must-do. Thanks for a great stay!

The bar had a good selection of local wines and the appetizers we had were wonderful. Although we had an existing dinner engagement on this trip, next time we will certainly try the food as the menu sounded wonderful. The room was simple, just a bed but it was everything we needed. The shared restroom was not a problem.

The rooms were okay, and it was quite. No amenities to speak of. There is a common refrigerator (sort of) a few food items to scrounge for breakfast. I totally understand the whole COVID thing, but there is NO hosting at this hotel. Internet is,so-so.

Great little hotel near wineries and hiking. They had live music the night we stayed. Terrific food! The best crabcakes I've had in awhile! Rooms comfy, nice and soft beds, window air conditioning. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed the stay at the Lyle Hotel. Did not mind the shared bath rooms, as the water pressure was good and it was hot. We stayed in Room 10, which is just above the bar downstairs. those Cougar fans did get loud, but was good to hear them cheering. The meal was also very good. Next time plan on doing a little more hiking, but this was the first wet weekend and we did get wet. Thanks. PS: The wife left her pillow at the hotel and Richard got it back to us.

I had a very good stay here. It is an old house with very nice unique rooms. There is a bar and they had live music. While that is nice, I was a bit tired after an exhausting hike on the nearby Mt. Adams. So, I did not explore the area. The bathrooms, shared with other guests, were very nice.

Enjoyed the clean room, the super-friendly owners and the cozy lounge.Terrific location for exploring the gorge varied activities; the vintage feel of the place a welcome departure from typical cookie-cutter hotel ambivalence.Dining was exceptional. Enjoy the Drive! from Portland on SR 14 on the Washington side of the gorge. (Totally sets a mood for a fine get-away weekend)

We went for the wine selection and everything over-delivered! The menu is amazing and so value-priced. We loved everything we ordered. Unexpected was great music by Jack Green. Thank you for such a wonderful evening!

What an amazing array of people. My 8 year old had one of his best life experiences here. He was treated like royalty. Staff knew his name and used it. He was able to independently navigate the hotel with his mask. An incredible mecca during Covid summer. Just an incredible group of kind people. I can't wait to visit them again! Wow what a place!

Spent a beautiful summer evening here on the outside patio. Enjoyed local wine and beer alongside some excellent farm to table cuisine, while listening to talented singer-songwriter musicians! Call ahead to check bar and restaurant hours. They have live music most nights. Come out and visit this historic hotel, and meet some friendly locals!

Can't recommend this place enough. A 1905 cozy and quaint place wonderfully updated but still in tuned with the history. The real gem is the owner. He made us feel like we knew each other forever and we felt right at home. Can't wait to go back. Support these small towns and keep them alive!!!

We spent 2 nights at this lovely old hotel with comfortable beds and old world hospitality. We dined, while enjoying some live local musicians and sipping big reds from nearby craft wineries, on a delicious pot roast and chicken marsala created by classically trained chef Richard, the proprietor. Great weekend getaway hotel that we will definitely return to next time we go up the amazing Columbia River.

Beautiful historical gem. A nice clean and amazing home cooked food in adjoining bar with some nightly local live music. Quite for sleep hours minus random close trains. If you like Bed and breakfast you should go.

Save your money! Go to a real hotel! It is basically an old boarding house, management doesn t stay at the property. There is a combination lock to get in. Luckily management was there when we got there. There are 11 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The bathroom closest to our room wasn t cleaned the 3 days we were there. Nobody told us what to with dirty towels and washcloths and nobody brought clean ones. There was a window unit air conditioner which cooled well the first day but not the other 2. Thankfully we brought a fan with us. Another couple arrived the second day we were there to check in, nobody was there, when we pulled up. The man tried to call the phone number and got a voicemail. When we went in, we found a card with their names on it with a key to a room lying on the desk, so we let them in. Not quite sure how they were supposed to get in if we had not returned at that time. No TVs anywhere in the place! It was so disappointing, we left around 10pm the last night!

The Lyle Hotel is a nice quaint old, but rejuvenated hotel. The restaurant is great for dining and in the morning a continental type breakfast is available as self serve. After a good night's rest you can choose from many of the Columbia Gorge's hiking trails.

Such a great place! Exquisite food! Great people! Down to earth! Awesome service! Very cool historic facility, reminiscent of the early 1900s modernized in a classy way. Located amongst a breathtakingly beautiful setting and place.

Loved this hotel. Cute rooms all on the second floor with a little restaurant and bar downstairs. The owners were fantastic and made us feel at home. We will definitely be staying there again in the future.

Very neat place. Loved the bar area and the dining area. I did not stay here, but went to watch my brother play music with a group. Staff was great and the place is clean! I would definitely stay here :)

Hard to get in contact with. We arrived on location and the hotel was locked, no one at the front desk, and the phone number on google was disconnected. The link on the email dialed a disconnected number as well. Had to hard code type in the phone number. Poor communication. I believe it s new ownership in the last 6 months and still working logistics

Cute historic boutique hotel in tiny Lyle, OR. Great food at the restaurant, with live music often. Service is enthusiastic but inexperienced (slow). Lively mix of locals and tourists enjoying music and cocktails on a Friday night.
