Bud rebuilt my engine for my '62 Rambler American convertible and she runs great! She's so much fun. He kept me updated with all the progress while he was working on my engine. Awesome job.

Bud built my first motor in 1977, I have been using him ever since. He recently did a cylinder head on a 1954 inline and did a fabulous job and his prices were so very reasonable. Great personality, great work and great prices, what more can one ask for.

Bud is a nice enough guy but the service is horrible. Took my engine there 4 months ago to have the block cleaned as well as have the cylinders, pistons and crank checked for defects. In talking to Bud I was led to believe that despite their workload they would get it done in a short amount of time, 6 weeks at the latest. They told me to come back in 2 weeks, so I did. I got the old, "oh no it's not ready yet, we'll call you next week" that seems to be so common in reading some of the other reviews. 10 weeks later, mid-June, I get a call from Bud quoting me $2000 for the work. Astonished, I questioned what all was being done. He started going on about doing headwork, with valves and seals etc. in addition to what I had asked be done. Remember, I never even gave them my heads! I had them done somewhere else and they were on my coffee table! He replied that he'd have to get with his guy and regroup and he'd call me the next day, which he didn't. Heard nothing from them for another month. It's now August, and I just left there after arranging to pick my parts up tomorrow. I travel constantly for work and don't have the time or inclination to chase after a machine shop to get work done. Heed the warnings, advise you take your business elsewhere.

Just got our 5.3 back and installed and it runs better than new. Want to thank Bud and Matt for the excellent work. Best engine shop around in my humble opinion.

Excellent machine shop but extremely busy. High demand for quality work makes for long waiting period. Purchased a remanufactured engine a few years ago land couldn't be happier with it. I highly recommend this shop if you can wait for good work.

Too Long Didn't ReadWaited 5 months for a simple rebuild. Despite my file supposedly being on the "top of the pile" for months, the work never got done. They never called. When we called or visited, they always had a bad excuse. When that didn't work, they blamed us. When I decided to get my parts back, they decided to finally start work probably as I was en route to the shop. They also lost some of my parts.Full reviewWhen I dropped off my engine for a standard rebuild, Bob (Bud's mechanic) showed me a long list of work orders ahead of mine. He said that it would be about 2 weeks and told me to get a spot in line. I heard nothing for a month, so I stopped by the shop. Bob asked if I wanted to get in on a run of foreign engines next week. I agreed.Hearing nothing for a month after that (2 months into the ordeal), I stopped by again. Bud took my file and set it aside from the pile with a flourish saying that he would take care of me. He also verified my number and work order details. After 4 months since the engine was dropped off, they still had not reached out. I was left to assume that no work has been done. Frustrated, my girlfriend took over. When she called, Bud apologized and said that "the file got lost in the shuffle" because we hadn't placed a deposit on the work. (I had dropped off the engine with my wallet out, ready to pay. At no point had they asked for a deposit or even given an estimate of the cost, despite that I asked several times). Bud said that they would be ordering parts and that everything would be completed by next week.We waited over a week, and heard nothing as usual. We called. They hadn't even started working on it yet. We assumed that parts hadn't been ordered. Bud said that it was his fault and gave his usual spiel about putting the file on the top of the pile.We confirmed the job details again, but as Bud tried to hang up, he nastily complained to someone in the room about us and said that my girlfriend was always changing her mind. At no point had we changed the details. It was always a simple engine rebuild.5 months into this hellish experience and I pulled the plug. I called Bud to arrange a time when I could pick up my parts. He had gone from nice, to befuddled, to nasty, and now he was uncertain and apologetic. He kept repeating that he had not tried to cheat me, which was weird. I got to the shop and Bud made a show of saying that the crankshaft was on the polishing machine. They had finally decided to start work as I was trying to pull the parts. I got the feeling that they began while I was on my way to the shop. Weird again. Bud kept apologizing and saying that he wasn't trying to cheat me, but that I had to pay for the work to polish the crankshaft. I was done with their excuses and lack of professionalism, so I quietly simmered. I just wanted to get my parts.I had neatly organized my parts in boxes and Ziploc bags. In fact, the boxes were still sitting in their office walkway 2-3 months after I'd dropped them off. Now, they were all over the place. It took a while for Bob to track them down. When I got them back, some of the crankshaft bearings were missing. They were going to be replaced anyway, but still.

Very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly staff. They took the time to discuss what I wanted in an engine and what I was going to use it to do. I received a well built Ford 289 with the parts I wanted for a great price and on time. Highly recommend.

Have been there time and time again, and there is no one better, friendlier, or more knowledgeable!! Have sent a lot of people i know there too, and they always have a great experience!! I needed a specific piston, and Bud told me it would be cheaper for me to get it from company x, then have Bud order it for me, now thats some honesty you rarely see these days!!

I am regular customer. Bring them big jobs and some of the tiniest work like hanging pistons and tanking blocks. They always make time for me and give me a fair priceBud is an upfront guy, treats everyone (that I've seen) with a ton of respect and is very helpful with his advice

While working on my LS1 Camaro I had an exhaust manifold bolt break off in the head while doing a header install. After many attempts at trying to remove it, I finally gave up after the extrication tool I was using broke off in the bolt. I then pulled the cylinder head off and began to call local shops to find someone to remove the bolt for me. The first shop in Bonney Lake said they wouldn't touch it cause the head was aluminum. The machine shop I called in Sumner said they wouldn't touch it because of the broken extrication tool, and they didn't know anyone who will. So then I called Bud, who did machine work on my 350 block and cylinder heads last fall, and explained my situation. He told me due to the nature of the problem he couldn't be certain if he could remove the bolt, but to bring it to him asap so he could look at it. He was THE FIRST person I called all day who would help me! I dropped off the cylinder head with him and he said he would call me in a few hours. Like clockwork he called me a few hours later and said he had it removed! I picked it up and you couldn't even tell there was an issue! The bolt hole threads didn't even have a knick in them. AND he gave me a great price for his services! The work and customer service I receive from Bud is always EXCELLENT. Regardless of the issue or how far I have to drive I will never use another machine shop for ANY of my engine work.

VERY satisfied with buds work, have taken two heads to him for a resurface, one was done for a MLS head gasket (MLS is picky about surface finish), and i couldn't have been any more pleased with the quality of the machined surface! And the quick turn around time, repeat customer here!

Dropped off some parts for work, was told two weeks for completion. Two weeks go by, nothing was done. First it was because he had a guy sick, then it was because he had guys on vacation, then it was because he didn't have the right parts, then he himself was sick, then his son was in the hospital. I'm not sure any of it was true. They never called me once. I had to call them every time, even when they said they would call be back (they never did). If I had not called them, there would have been no interaction between us, and I'm sure my parts would just have been swallowed up by their completely unorganized, total mess of a shop. It's an absolute disaster. They never remembered who I was or what the job was whenever I called. I had to introduce myself and describe the job in every detail as if they were coming to it new each and every time I called them. Then after two months of sitting on my parts they decided to refuse to do the work, and I picked up the parts, which appeared untouched. They wouldn't tell me why, just "a bunch of little things that make the job not feel right."

I took my motor into him it's out of a 1959 Nash Metropolitan I took it into him 4 months ago when I first took it to him they said it would be 6 weeks then it's been I'll call you I'll call you I'll call you and no calls I go out and the Have Nots ordered parts so 3 weeks ago he says oh yeah we ordered the parts today I go out there today and they have not ordered parts and they flat-out lied to us do not take your stuff to this machine shop they do not know what they're doing and they lie to you and not do your workUPDATE: I started putting the motor back together. I was missing parts that were there when I dropped it off. They said they would replace them and when I found the parts they told me no they were not going to. They are are liars do not trust them. Take your Motor to somebody else.
