Great, kind people!Affordable and thorough services.They're very caring in informing you of other observations about your vehicle that may be of concern without trying to "over-push you" into more unnecessary services.Good hard focused an' people/customer mechanics are really hard to come by especially nowadays....these people are amongst those Godsends.

Brought in my bmw z3 for a cylinder misfire. Dan was able to diagnose and fix my problem along with replacing my radiator, coolant, and filters, ready for me the next day. Pricing is decent, will be coming back

I brought my car here a couple years ago after moving from Alaska. My car was running rough and I was going to be commuting a lot for a new job. They were so nice and so straightforward. They understood that I was on a tight budget, so he took the time to go over all the things going on with my car, what could wait and what really needed to happen. I had taken my car to another place before this and had gotten an outrageously expensive quote, so it was a HUGE relief to know I could plan out the work to better fit my budget. I ve since moved to SW Washington, but I wish I could still go here. My parents live in the area and I recommended they start taking their cars there. They are awesome.

Looks a decent place. I came in for a check up on my car, that was having an issue with the RPM dropping while idle, they said, they had a busy schedule, but manage to squeeze in an hour to look into my car. Work done was, tight up lose spark plugs and move ignition coil #3 to diferent spot, run the car to operating temperature and had no problem at the time. They charge me $222 for 1.5 hours of labor which is not a big of a deal and advise to drive the car for a couple of days and if the issue persist to step in and they were going to fix the problem and there was not need for paying again for the labor which sounded real good and responsible. Ended up with same problem, came back in and they told me what I already knew and said we are to busy to check your car in. all you need to do is change the spark plugs to the oem ngk or Bosch. Nice, I paid to the experts to ended up just getting advice to do it my self.

The office and shop staff are incredibly nice, well spoken, and thorough.The ahop staff not only thought about the current situation but the picture as a whole regarding the reason I came in.They aren't afraid of advising in a transparent manner so that they make sure that you know you have a choice and they don't upcharge just because they can.

I apparently have a very fickle BMW. Drives like a dream until it decides it's been too nice to me and needs evidence of my continuing commitment to our partnership.December my car started being unpredictable in recognizing the fob. I read the forums, tried changing my fob battery. No luck. Dan checked the battery and the original battery was in the car (5 year batt, almost 7 year old car). Long story short, the battery didn't fix the issue completely and my car decided to throw in a intermittent blower (during the snow of course) and a leak in the back seat ( water on the floor).I gave Dan a list of my woes and he had the issues diagnosed and mostly resolved in less than 48 hours. The last item ( the car recognizing the fob and locking consistently) was a bit more work and we decided to replace a door handle ( which had to ship and took a few days ).I've had a few issues with this car in the past and used to see the dealer. They took much longer to diagnose and resolve issues and were far less transparent with their process and certainly did not offer me information to help me decide how to address the issues while managing cost. Dan discussed the pros and cons of the door handle vs a software flash at the dealer and he was clear in his reasoning fof his recommendation. Fortunately it looks like the handle was the right resolution. :)Thank you for fixing my car and working me in on short notice. Great service, clear communication, and i appreciate that you will talk options and are patient with my 'here's what i think' from my limited car experience and forum browsing. I hope not to see you again too soon, but you are my first stop if this fickle baby demands more love.Thank you!

Second car taken to them and no complaints yet. Transparent, knowledgeable, and fair prices.Used them when I lived in Kent and now that I'm in Seattle, I still use them.

WARNING!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I have a 2008 X5 that was having some idling issues. So much so that it kicked its self in to neutral to Safe Mode. I called this company to see if they could get my car in to fix it. (I am new to the area) They had availability so I had my car towed in to not cause any more damage. I expected the cost to be heavy as I am aware anything on a BMW is costly. Come to find out I was told it was only a $500.00 Engine sensor. (I was very relived) When I picked my car up I was told by who I think is the owner. How well my car has been taken care of and the underneath is dry as a bone. (This also made me feel very secure in driving the car) I drove the car straight home and went to sleep. The next day driving to work it was doing the Exact same thing, the same issue I took it in for!! I immediately called after work and made the owner aware I was not happy and was very confused how my car seemed to have not been fixed! I was advise to bring my car back in. Seriously!! Bring my car back so you can waste more of my time and money?? (Total bait and switch) I was not stupid enough to fall for that so I took my car to the BMW dealership. Come to find out my car had all kinds of things wrong with it. Like THOUSANDS of DOLLARS of work to be done. I approved the work and got my car back and it has been running perfect ever since. I requested that this company refund my money since clearly they did nothing but waste my time and money and did not resolve the main issue let alone any of the other issues. They of course refused. (Acting like they did the job I hired them to do when in FACT they did not!) I truly hope scamming a single grandmother that has custody of all 4 of her grand kids for over $500.00 and causing me to pay even more money to have my car fixed correctly at the dealership allows them to sleep well at night. . ... I would NEVER RECOMMEND this shop!! PLEASE be AWARE!Update!!! Hilarious response! You must truly have memory issues. All I have driven is FORDs?? Lol, In fact I have never driven a Ford in my life. Nor was I concerned about cost as I clearly told you. I just wanted my car fixed correctly! Because I have 4 young kids in my care and need my car running correctly!!For you to make the statement that the issue was fixed is so past appalling...It sure is funny how my car runs perfectly after I took it to the dealership.You know you did wrong and I plan to countinue my dispute out of Principle. Let alone my credit card company is still investigating this case. So I would tune down the pride on getting the money refunded.PLEASE anyone that reads this be Warned about dealing with this company!

Very condescending and rude. I drove out to get a quote after speaking with them the day before and upon my arrival there was no warm welcome at all and overall looked very confused that I was there. I dont know if it's because I am a young woman or what. When the man did a walk around of my car he spoke to me very sharply about what he could not do. I told him I know I need regulators on my BMW and told me I needed $600-1000 dollars, which is understandable but I was given no options other than having to leave. They did not even try to work with me.

Rob did an excellent job explaining to me what the problem with my car was and walked me through the reasons why. By the end of our conversation, the problem was making sense to me as well. By the time I got a check engine light, the problem was exactly what he said it was. Couldn't believe how much I learned about cars just from our short conversations. I've been coming to them since I bought my car, and I don't plan on going anywhere else the next time I have an issue.

Import Auto Service provides Excellent general and advanced maintenance and repair services. Dan is the owner and has two teammates. They are VERY customer oriented, reliable and honest! Great place to have your car serviced, repaired or pronounced dead! In my case my trucks inner tie rods required replacement. Two highly rated Renton import repair shops indicated repair cost that would have required a second mortgage to pay for! Import Auto Service did it for pocket change! How, , , they installed Non Dealer supplied parts and passed the savings on! My Landy steers like New and i still own my house! Thank you Import Auto Service! !

They don't know nothing about fixing bmw, beside replacing brake pads. Charging anything they could, without fixing the problem! Stay away from this shop! Lost so many days of works when they said the car is done, then came to pick it up, the altenator light was still on. 2nd day came, happened again, then he said just its the battery, then before leaving he added cost of overtime plus the battery. Guess what, start it the car, the light was still on. He said just leave the car and comeback tomorrow. The next day, I called and tell him, it might be just a bad altenator that he installed it on. Bad he said no. And kept blaming the car for something elses. After 4 days at the shop, I just had enough, went there and picked the car up, drove it with the juice from The brand new battery, and made it to the shop beside my house. Easy simple thing to say to the shop, please replace the altenator. They did it in 4 hours. And turned out it was just a bad altenator from that stupid brake shop put it on. I paid almost $1k and lost 4 days of work because of this unreliable, irresponsible and ignorant owner of shop. They can denied anything..receipts speak for themselves..

Spent $200 to fix window regulator. Fixed for 2 days and it was broke again. Will follow up when I get them to fix it.Should note I was told it was not their problem, and that they would only fix it for a fee. I brought it in to be diagnosed and fixed, instead it was fixed by replacing the part that wasn't bad, instead of fixing the electrical. BMW ultimately fixed it for $900.

I would like to leave a response on the review that my brother and the business owner left on Yelp. Please read the below for partial context.I had taken in my car into this shop 3 times. One for brakes and another for the warranty on the brake job because of the caliber failure and lastly because my cylinder 3 misfire.On the last time I went to the shope for the misfire my brother (who is also a mechanic, but lives 3 hrs from me) checked the work that was done and left a review that you can read.I did call the business owner and I am shocked at the dishonesty of the response of the business owner about our conversation on the phone. I never apologized for my brother's response. I only stated that I apologize if there were unkind words exchanged. I stated to the owner that I cannot speak to anything mechanically because I do not understand. We ended the conversation that there was a lack of communication (mainly on their part) and that is why I was confused on some of the work done on my vehicle. I will not go back to this shop, if he is unable to be honest about our conversation on the phone. I am scared of the dishonesty done my vehicle.__________________________________________________________Erik (My brother's review) - They dishonestly sold things that did not need to be repaired. the main repair/ concern was inaccurately charged for labor resulting in a bill that was close to 2x the fair price that would of been charged at a more reputable honest shop. on top of all that a part was installed that previously had no problems (therefore very not needed) and charged for that also. the part was an interior part that was also the wrong color! at least the customer got her old perfectly ok part left in her center consil to remind her why to never go to this shop again!Business Owner responseNEXT DAY AT 8:00AM I GET A MESSAGE FROM THE CUSTOMER WHO AUTHORIZED THE WORK REQUESTING A RETURN CALL. I DO SO AND SHE STATES SHE WAS SURPRISED AT THE OIL CHANGE COST BUT WAS NOT ASKING FOR ANY REFUND. I EXPLAINED MORE CLEARLY THE REASONS FOR THE DOOR HANDLE REPLACEMENT AND SHE UNDERSTOOD THIS.SHE SPENT MOST OF THE TIME APOLOGIZING FOR HER BROTHER'S ACTIONS AND HAS NO ISSUE WITH OUR REPAIRS. I ASKED IF SHE WOULD HAVE HER BROTHER REMOVE THESE INAPPLICABLE REVIEWS.APPARENTLY THAT HAS NOT OCCURRED IF YOU'RE READING THIS.

I called and asked how much they charge for diagnostics. The person that answered the phone said it depends on how long he s doing diagnostics. What kind of answer is that? First place I ve ever encountered and they gave me an answer like that. Looking at some of these reviews it s not surprising that, that was the response I got. Do better, would ve made a lot of money off of me but I m taking my business elsewhere.

Dan really knows his stuff. He won't try to pawn off unnecessary repairs or services on you, and actually recommends things that would save you time and money. He's a true engineer too, and won't stop looking until he gets to the bottom of whatever your problem might be. The most tell-tale sign I saw of his work was a 35 year old Fiat Miata in seemingly mint condition that the owner still entrusts with him.

Dan is a very competent and honest owner. I do a lot of the work on my bmw's myself. But when I can't fix a complicated problem, Dan is the man. I put in a new engine in one of my bmw's and spent weeks trying to get the car to turn over and start. I couldn't figure out the problem. Dan was able to diagnose the electrical problem and get it running. He's fixed several of my cars and would gladly refer him to anyone.

I've taken my car here all the way from North Seattle for years even for a simple oil change. I know that any work done by the owner or his crew is exactly I need - I never get crazy recommendations and any repairs he does do are done so quickly!

The owner smells like he has alcohol poisoning. Charged $132.00, $120 Labor plus tax to tell me the part for the heater blower wasn t going to work and he wanted to charge me $1,450. I started at 3:15p. It hasn t been a full hour and 3 other customers were a head of me.

Thank you Dan for all your help!! Our car BMW needed to be fixed urgently and we wouldn't of been able to drive it at all if we hadn't gotten it fixed that day.. He definitely did all he could to help us out and we are so greatful for the great work he did. He is an expert at was he does and is very friendly. This place is better than any dealer service or machanic and is now our "to go" place incase of any other car repair we may need in the future. :)

Dan is completely honest and wants to help more than he wants money, every time he's always told me just bring it to here or wait on that when other places want hundreds from me and make it sound urgent. Dan is the only mechanic I go to.
