This park was a month-long stay for us. The park is right on the highway, but no noise on the forest side a bit of the road. No sidewalks or bike lanes on the highway around and a 5 min drive to actual town of Hoodsport. Laundry and bathroom facilities are quite outdated and needed multiple times of drying to finish loads.Spot was large, which was nice, but the grounds we a bit overgrown and the slab cracked. Didn't sit out much.Pictures on the website and Google that we saw before going appeared to be a bit outdated.

I'm in the off season, so much is not happening besides rain. Had an awesome Christmas with staff. Place is quiet with a flowing river directly behind your RV. Looking for a welcoming spot that is inclusive, this here is it. And did I mention the bigger river across the street. Oh yes, it is so beautiful just to look at day and night. No complaints here. My husband swears by the steaming hot showers. Everyone mines their business but are friendly when approached. Good experience for me I must say.

Exceptionally poorly kept restrooms/showers. Clubhouse is always closed despite advertised. The so called free wifi is near useless and must be constantly reset. Managers seem to always be completely wasted or exceptionally rude. If you have deep pockets they will gladly help you, otherwise it seems they have no care for anyone. Been a regular for many years and all I hear from the office staff is to avoid this place at all costs. There is a reason the local grocery store has nothing good to say.

I just spent two months at Rest-A-While (mid-July through mid-September). We stayed on the forested side.Everyone we met was so kind! Upon arrival, both neighbors and an employee (Barney) came out to help us back into our spot.Good communication. The day before our arrival Elizabeth called us and let us know the water pump would be going through some maintenance. During our first two days, we would be without water and should fill up our potable water. So helpful! Thank you!Beautiful views of the Hood Canal! My husband and I went on a walk every evening to the water. One night we even saw a few sea otters kill a fish, and eat it right on the rocks in front of us! So cool! Rest-A-While s little boardwalk lights up at night, and it s so lovely! There are 4 washing machines ($1.50 per load) and 3 dryers ($1 per load).WIFI and Internet worked wonderfully for us. My husband and I both work remotely, so this was important. Our Verizon Hotspot worked awesome. To save on data throughout the day, I often used the RV park's free WIFI for work with no problems. It does start to slow down around 4 p.m. because that s when more people start to use it.Spots are a bit tight when the park is full, but nothing worse than any other RV park I ve been to.The website needs an overhaul and needs to have consistent information. For example, the top header says there s an Arts and Music Fair. It said there would be one on Labor Day weekend, but there wasn t. If it s canceled, that s fine; simply remove it from your website to avoid confusion. The website states that The HoneyBee is Open. That is also incorrect; I never saw it open once. This is a missed opportunity for the park. I would ve loved to grab a coffee or something for breakfast. If you can t keep the HoneyBee staffed, maybe invite local food trucks to the park weekly. Anyways, simplify your website, and keep it updated. This is easier on employees and guests! It s 2023, and a current and functional website is a MUST.Lastly, there is a recreation room, but it s apparently only available to groups to rent because people haven t cleaned up after themselves and ruined it for everyone. I was pretty bummed about this because I would ve loved to have access to a real oven! Tis the season of fresh fruit and I would've loved to bake an apple crisp!I really wanted to hunt for oysters on their private beach for guests, but as a beginner, I was really intimidated. It would be great if the park offered a guide of some sort to help us out. You know, show us when the best time to go is and what the heck to do when we get there.I d read in some reviews there was a trail around the park that led to a waterfall. Technically there is, but it s not maintained. The waterfall and stream are only active during peak rainy season.I ve read several comments stating the man at check-in was rude or grumpy. However, as someone who s worked with the public for many years, I got the impression he was a bit burned out. I think we all know how difficult the public can be, especially if you get a few Karens. While a bit gruff, he was always kind to me.Give the employee who drives the Toyota a raise! I watched him handle so many issues in the park, and I could tell he really cared. It made me laugh watching him work so hard in a shirt that says Dilligaf. LOL yes you do!My husband and I have now moved on as we travel full-time in our travel trailer. We ve only been gone a week, and we miss it already. Thanks for a lovely late summer Rest-A-While!Nearby activities: I HIGHLY recommend doing the Staircase Rapids hike! It s a pretty easy two-mile loop. Remember you do go into a National Park, which means your Discovery Park Pass doesn t work. I believe we spent $50 buying the National Park pass.Safety: The highway by the park is incredibly dangerous. We saw multiple accidents during our stay, including a fatality. One was just up the road from the park, and the other was a fatality near Hamma Hamma Oyster Saloon (about 9 miles north of the RV park). Every time the road would be shut down for at least 3 - 4 hours, and there was nothing to do but wait it out. Going around the Hood Canal would take hours and wouldn t be worth it. This isn t Rest-A-While s fault but is something you should be aware of. Please drive safely and watch those corners!Food & drinks: The Tides is in walking distance from the park. The clam chowder is disappointing, but I highly recommend the Seafood basket (fried fish, oysters, and shrimp) with tots. The halibut is excellent too!Noteworthy details: If you plan to stay here for an extended time like we did, here are a few additional things to note. The local grocery store (Market Fresh) is freaking expensive and often lacks basic supplies like tampons. We did most of our grocery shopping in Shelton at Walmart and Fred Meyer (yay for curbside pickup). We also saw two movies in Olympia at the Cinemark Century, and it was really nice. Afterward, we ate at Stack 571 Burger and Whiskey Bar. I ate the Fatted Sow, and it was one of the best burgers I ve ever had! So yummy! Also, not a single local Veterinary Clinic would see our kitten, who was finally old enough to be neutered and needed some additional vaccinations. I called SO many places, and no one would take new patients. We ended up having to drive all the way to Sequim. We went to Greywolf Veterinary Hospital, and they were amazing!

Make sure you write down which site you book, as I was switched by management to a much smaller site at the same cost without asking. I booked a 40+ft site in the middle of the waterfront sites only to be switched to a 25+ft site at the end and much closer (like 15 feet) to the noisy road. The spot I booked was also still empty the next day, even though they told me it was now booked. Not okay and simply unprofessional...I felt cheated...this is not my first time booking an RV park. It's a very convenient location and being waterfront is nice, but the spots are super close to the road and it's basically a parking lot.

Had a very nice month staying here. Mostly long-term residents, so longer stays are common and decently affordable. We work full-time remotely, and our Verizon cell service & mobile Internet router was super fast the entire time! We also had to get some documents & Amazon packages forwarded to us while staying there, and they all came through the Post Office without any hassle. Highly recommend staying in the parkside during the hot summer months, because the grassy/dirt grounds and trees kept it very cool inside the camper.

I have stayed here before. And never had any problems But this morning I was trying to leave. And whoever the couple that was staying in number 10. Had their truck still hooked to their trailer. My wife Walked over And knock on the door and ask the gentleman If he could unhook his truck and move, so we could get our truck and trailer through...and he said not Problem.. We proceeded to leave and as we drove by The woman that was there with him. Proceeded to use foul language towards us, when we went by. I knew There was 2 be gonna have problems the next morning because they came in at night. And didn't unhook their trailerThank God no one needed to have the fire department. Come through because there would be no way for them to make it down to The last 4 sites

As a traveling nurse, My dogs and I spend a good deal of time in RV parks all over the country. My last 3 months was spent at Rest a While, and what a glorious spot! I woke up every morning to a water front views, my dogs enjoyed their daily walks along the waterfront. The office staff was always friendly, helpful and welcoming, but Tammy is THE BEST! Any time I am in town, Rest a While is my spot to land. Thank you all for giving us a home away from home!

We have stayed at this idyllic little nook of Eden twice with other RV friends. Owners were kind, accommodating, and generous. We were allowed to harvest oysters while wading. For the pittance of $1/person, we were allowed 60 minutes to harvest as many as we could. Only caveat was we had to shuck them in the water, and leave the shells there. Exhilarating, and lots of fun!

Absolutely Love this little RV Park! We always stay on the water side and get a great well deserved relaxing view! We are looking forward to our next stay here! Staff is very wonderful, pleasant and very helpful! I Love the little "boardwalk" which includes (lights) lamp posts along the walk.. so beautiful at night! Can't wait to come back!!

We stayed at Rest-A-While for the month of May. *Our review is only for the WATERFRONT side of the park. We looked at the park side part of the campground (across the street) & would not rate it as clean or nice as the sites by the water. Waterfront is worth the extra $100/month in our opinion if staying more than a few nights. We arrived and the staff was SO pleasant and helpful. They did a great job welcoming us and making sure we were all set.Cons: The sites were very close together. We barely had enough room to extend our awning, and parking our big truck in front of our pull through site was a bit of a challenge. To get to the front office you had to run across Hwy101, and we didn't feel it was safe enough to let our young kids ride their bikes around due to the busy road and fast traffic close by. There was a definite ocean smell to the canal that you could smell from the site, and there was almost always a constant sound of loud traffic driving by (even at night and early morning).Pros: The waterfront sites were very clean, had beautiful views, friendly staff and not too many rules. The laundry room was clean and orderly and priced great, and they even had recycling bins next to the trash which we loved being able to use! Hoodsport is very close to the Staircase entrance of Olympic National Park (30min away) and driving distance to visit other great tourist spots for a day trip. We had great cell reception to be able to work remotely and really enjoyed our time in the area. They had a cute little playground on the water side of the park and were opening up the Honey Bee restaurant/coffee shop as were leaving. For having full hook-ups, and being located near everything we wanted to see it was a great place for our month stay.

We have been staying at Rest a while for 5 months as I am a health care traveler. I can't say enough great things about this park. The view is amazing, management and staff are friendly and welcoming. The park is child and dog friendly. There is a oyster beach, swimming, great place to kyack or just sit and enjoy the view. The people we have met here are always fun and helpful. If you get a chance to stay here don't pass it by. We are going to be sad to leave here

We really liked staying here. The folks in the office are very nice. We got to do some oyster harvesting while we were here and had a blast. The oysters were delicious. Nice roomy RV spots. You can also get Amazon shipments here and the staff will happily bring your shipments to you when they arrive. Overall a great place to stay.

I stayed there for the July 4 weekend. The water sites were full, so I stayed in the mountain side. It is a wonderful place for the weekend fun. I enjoyed harvesting oyster on the beach! They provide free-wifi. If you use starlink, be sure to book the waterside. Otherwise the trees block signal.

The management staff are courteous and very helpful. The facilities are clean and very well maintained as are the grounds. The office personnel are very friendly and professional. This RV park is family and pet friendly with the best tasting well water I ve ever experienced. The views of the Hood Canal are simply spectacular and the town of Hoodsport is only a couple miles away. I highly recommend staying here on vacation or for a quiet weekend getaway.

This is an awesome location for an RV park! The scenery and Hood Canal are beautiful. The park is very restful and quiet, the Waterfront spots are perfect too! We've stayed here 5 times over the years. We had a reservation for this year 2018 to meet 10 couples there to enjoy crabbing, oyster shucking, clamming and some Salmon fishing. We booked our stay for July out in early February and were so excited to meet everyone there. A few days before we were to arrive my wife's Dad was rushed into emergency surgery and due to his age and medical condition the Dr. was very worried if he was strong enough to make it through. So even though we were within 1 hour of arriving at the park we turned around and drove straight back to CA(14 hours) to be with Dad. I called to the park and explained our situation and Elizabeth was so understanding. She's an angel! That's why we love the park so much as it's a warm and friendly place! We're looking forward to our next stay! OBTW Dad made it through the surgery and is doing wonderfully!

The people that own and operate this place are super nice. The campsites are clean, and we stayed 50 feet from the beach. Our kids had a great time walking on the beach at low tide and collecting sea shells and playing with all the little critters. Our stay was 3 days in early November. The place was pretty well empty, so it was great. Had the whole place to ourselves. We wanted to get some oysters, and they had the gate to the beach locked. The girl in the office came down and gave us a key to use whenever. Gate was only locked because it was the off season. Aside from the fact that you are right on HWY 101, this is a good little place to stay.

We love our extended stay space on the beach in our RV. This resort has breathtaking views of Hood Canal. Elizabeth is an exceptional manager. She's always cheerful and professional. If I wasn't looking for a house or cabin I'd love to make this home.

Never Never again. Nothing but negatives about this RV park. Run down, dirty, noisy and.. When we checked in we learned they had moved us to a diff. Site than the one we specifically reserved. A much smaller site & even closer to the highway!! They stated we "should have" rcvd a prior email notification, but there wasnt & they didnt know why. (They knew we would have cancelled!) They also said there should be notes in their system re: why the move,.. but there were none. All the water side sites are SO close together and the highway is literally a few feet from your RV. The truck noise was relentless. (The spot we had reserved was toward the south end that would have at least given us a few extra feet buffer.)The majority of the RV spots are on the other side of the highway & are mainly long term/permanent and very dilapidated and run down. There are SO many other nice, clean, and reputable RV parks in the area,. I would never spend even 1 night here again.Keep looking!

Nice view of the water, very close parking, level grounds, lost our pet we came back and found her being cared for by employee. Read other review's and saw some poor ones they must be new campers or from the big city, very nice and friendly owners and employees. By the way no camp fires should be allowed during fire season. thank you. PS our little black and white cat is doing great at our new house.

We, unfortunately, did not have the pleasure of actually staying here. However, we had reservation that we had to cancel as our plans changed... BUT, the location is beautiful, the prices are great, and the lady that works at the office is an absolute gem. If we're ever in the area, we'll definitely be staying there!

Management is kind, neighbors keep to themselves, the only major complaint is the bathrooms are not always stocked properly and they don't clean them throughly all the time it seems. Most dont listen to the signs in the bathroom well either which is unfortunate. It just wastes power and such.

Husband and I literally just checked in (reservation is under his name) and I am so disappointed. If you live in an RV park this would probably be great for you, but this is not a campsite in the traditional since. We are recreational RVrs, we wanted more of a "campsite" this is nothing more than an RV parking lot. There are people who live here, who wants to vacation next to people that actually live here. It's more like a trailer park than a campsite. It's too late to book something somewhere else, as its a busy holiday weekend. As we were getting ready to leave and dump our RV sewage we realized there is something wrong with the sewage hookup at our site, it's different than other RV dumps and the other sites. We had to dump somewhere else which was really frustrating. Live and learn but not for us. The people next to us actually left to see if they could find something else but couldn't and came back. They said the same thing who wants to vacation next to people who actually live in a park. The staff is very nice but this isn't the place for you if you wanted a campground.

On water side it is beautiful, not so much on other side. It is tight, not much room. We swam and it was beautiful, not many steamer clams alot of cockles. The staff are wonderful , I will definitely be going back....
