Leroy went above and beyond to help me when I was stuck 9 miles out of Hoodsport in the Olympic national forest! AAA wouldn t send anyone out but Leroy came and got my car started and even called that evening to make sure I got home okay. Best customer service ever! We were passing through the area when our car suddenly had the warning light come on and began idling terribly.We pulled in to the Eldon store and asked if there were any mechanic's in the area.The clerk IMMEDIATELY recommended Kevin, said she would never go anywhere else.We called Kevin from the parking lot and explained our problem. He agreed to see us right away.Kevin not only QUICKLY diagnosed our problem, he was able to get us back on the road just as fast.In addition to the current issue Kevin fixed problems other mechanic's had not been able to after repeated attempts.Kevin and Leroy were so professional, friendly, and SO reasonably priced. I cannot recommend this mechanic highly enough!

We rolled into this place on a wing and a prayer. One of our radiator hoses was super glued and duct taped to seal a sizeable leak. The guys at the garage were friendly and knowledgeable. They went straight to work and had us back on the road within an hour. They even checked and topped off our fluids just to be sure we were all set. A very fair price for all of it and a great experience all around

Not usually a review writer, but got to say that Kevin is awesome. He quickly figured out a problem with my truck that a different mechanic couldn't diagnose after multiple tries. Also he helped me out with looking over a used car when I was debating whether to purchase. He's an honest guy, straight shooter, and his rates are more than reasonable.

Initially I had nothing but positive things to say about Kevin. He seemed like a straight shooting, honest, hardworking local mechanic we were lucky to have in town. I first brought my older SUV in to him, and although he was unable to do anything to improve its acceleration problem, he seemed so cool.Even though I caught him claiming parts he bought were more expensive than they really were, I wrote this off as just what mechanics do.Than I recommended him to a friend who's alternator went out. It went out again a couple of weeks after he installed it, but that was just bad luck. All was okay.I recently brought my 2014 Hyundai in for an oil change and to have all my fluids topped off. I was told it would be done in the morning. In the afternoon, after work, I had to walk to his shop in the reign because the car had not been returned as I was told it would be. Upon arrival I saw Kevin filling the oil with non-synthetic oil. I was alarmed and asked why he didn't use synthetic as I had asked. His response was that THERE REALLY IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SYNTHETIC AND NON-SYNTHETIC! Just another excuse for the man to charge you more. Then, HE FILLED MY WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID WITH WATER! I was in shock and when I asked about this he cooly informed me that WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID ISN'T NECESSARY AND IT TAKES PAINT OFF CARS! My clothes wet and feeling violated, I drove away.A week later in Colorado, as I tried to clean my windshield it became apparent my windshield wiper fluid was frozen! I was in the middle of nowhere and had to drive another 30 minutes with almost no visibility to manually clear my view at a gas station, and had to repeat this process several times.When I paid to have everything redone in Colorado, the woman at Jiffy Lube pulled out my filter and it looked horrible. She asked why the last place I got it changed didn't change it.Upon returning to Hoodsport I confronted Mike, Kevin's sidekick, about all of this. He acted like, well, a grimy car mechanic. About the filter, he said other car places are always just trying to make other ones look bad, as though I didn't see the filter myself. About the wiper fluid, he asked if the freezing of the water broke anything, and I guess since it didn't it was okay? I don't even remember what he said about the oil, who cares.My take away from all of this is just take your car to a reputable service station/mechanic. Hoodsport mechanical is like going to a witch doctor to have your wisdom teeth removed.

My 18 year old son decided to make a 550 mile round trip in a car that he recently purchased and knew very little about. The car broke down and these folks went above and beyond to get a temporary fix that will get him home. They even called to make sure he made it home.

I was stranded from Tacoma all night long! I had to wait until morning to find a mechanic who could help me fix my car so I could make it home! Kevin helped me first thing at 9a.m. when they opened! He was a life saver and truly professional and an honest person! He helped me figure out what was wrong with my car in about 30 min !! Amazing!!! I was able to make it home!! And I could afford it too!!!! I would recommend this shop to everyone I know!!! Truly amazing!!! I think I will drive from Tacoma to Hoodsport just so he can do the work ineed donetomy vehicles from now on!!!! Thank you thank you thank you

Great place. Kevin was very honest and quick to diagnose the problem with my car, saving me a lot of time and money. Fast repair, great price, and very friendly service. I will be using Hoodsport Mechanical for all of my automotive repair needs.

Dow Mountain punctured our transmission oil pan. We didn t think we d make it down the mountain in time to catch our ferry back to Seattle. Thankfully, made it down without needing a tow. We made an emergency stop at Hoodsport Mechanical and were helped immediately. The crew understood our urgent situation. They re like EMTs! They fixed up our car and sent us off on our merry way within just a couple hours (with incredibly fair prices). They are friendly, professional, honest and true experts. We highly recommend Hoodsport Mechanical.

The gravel roads in the national forest finally claimed my exhaust pipe just outside of Hoodsport. I came here because it was the only shop that I could drive to with the pipe dragging.Guy who runs it is real friendly and has a level of know-how that you just don't find anymore. He let me help remove it (he went under first with a breaker bar and managed to free the VERY rusted bolts that held it to my muffler) and didn't charge me anything (I offered to pay him too)!Judging from the unique selection of vehicals in there, the guy must know his stuff. I'll certainly pick this shop over a chain-shop (Jiffy etc) any day.

Had a car that the engine light was on, a mechanic with an OBD Scanner came up to see the codes and reset them, and also gave me advice about increasing the gas efficiency, pretty good service. Very honest.

I live in Portland and i let me girlfriend take my jeep grand cherokee up to Sequim, WA for Christmas and on the easy back the alternator went out leaving her and her family on hwy 101 north of hamma hamma. She towed the vehicle to Hoodsport Mechanical just at close. Not only did Mike have the jeep ready to go by noon the next day but he checked over the jeep and made sure that she would get home safe, but he also recommended a great hotel, glen ayr, to stay in about a mile away. Fantastic service. I wish there were more people like this in this industry. Would be my mechanic of choice if wasn't 147 miles away.

Every vehicle we've owned since moving to Hoodsport has visited Kevin at Hoodsport Mechanical at least once.
