Incredibly strange experience, my car got towed there with a positive crank case ventilation failure. They told me the battery is dead (it was perfectly fine and relatively new) and then that the engine has no compression. I retrieved my car and took the air cleaner off and in about five seconds found the PCV hoses exploded causing a massive vacuum leak. There was no sign anyone did a compression test since this would have been obviously noticed and it didn't look like the air cleaner or spark plug cover panels had been touched so I can't imagine a compression test was done. They also told me the car provides no obd codes but it does on the Mercedes 38 pin proprietary connector. The battery recovered fine on my AGM charger and doesn't drain. The engine is also fine. The damaged hose cost all of $22 and I can't comprehend how a licensed mechanic couldn't do this simple job. In the end all I can guess is no one did much more than open the hood and change the battery for no reason and then try to start the engine a few times.

I scheduled my daughters car for brake pads and oil change at 8 AM, and my car for just oil change at 10 AM. Dropped my daughters car off at eight. When I returned at 10, they had not even looked at it. I waited 2 1/2 hours for my oil change, and when they had not begun by then, had to cancel due to another obligation.I anticipated about $200 for front brake Pads and rotors. They charged $615, for just the front.I anticipated about $85 for the oil change, since it was synthetic, but they charged $115.They quoted me $200 to check the engine diagnostics. This consists of plugging in a $30 device for Literally five seconds. I declined and used my own.They quoted me $75 to change the air filter. I declined. I bought one for $12 and changed it myself in literally two minutes.They charged a $38.50 "Shop operations fee" To cover rags and miscellaneous cleaning supplies. (What?!?)They charged another $46 fee to pay by debit card. This is something I could accept from a struggling mom and Pop business, Not a big corporation. When I said I would stop and get cash rather than waste that $46, I was told it had to be exact change for them to accept cash. Wow.I know this is their business model, and these chain shops are infamous for that kind of thing, But I thought with something as simple as brakes and an oil change it would be OK. My mistake.I took my car to a small independent shop just outside of town, had the oil changed in 40 minutes for $62, No fee to use my debit card, and felt good about the experience.

Meineke was able to get me in for an oil change the same day which was great. Convenient location. Good communication. Pricing was much better than the dealership but a tad higher than other places. I gave it 4/5 stars because it took a little longer than previous oil changes I ve had ( dropped off at 9:45 for an appt at 10:30 and I wasn t out of there until 12:30). Not sure if they were busy or if their technician was not as efficient as others. Also, their facilities could be more presentable and I think that would attract more business. Their office was quite dirty and cluttered.

We had a loose skid plate on a 2016 Mazda and took it to Meineke. I had never been here before - the decision was primarily because I didn't want to drive it to the dealership in Tacoma. We had no appointment so we dropped the car off. I didn't think it would be a big job, but I figured it would be $200 for labor and parts to secure the skid plate. When we went to pick up the car they handed us our keys and said there was no charge. I was stunned. That kind of attitude makes it EASY to come back.

Always a positive and professional experience at Gig Harbor Meineke. This crew is very thorough, trustworthy and communication is off the charts. I never feel like I'm going to be pressured for a service I don't need. The photo file taken during inspection gives me a lot of peace of mind and I get to learn a bit more about my vehicle in the process. Definitely a dependable shop. Mechanics are very knowledgeable and spend time answering questions/concerns. My most recent service was unexpected and my vehicle needed to be towed to the shop. My experience at Meineke was incredibly frustrating. I needed my body control module replaced for my windshield wipers and the man helping me was incredibly confusing and could not tell me what I needed to do when my wipers stopped working. I had to constantly prompt him to tell me what my next steps should be and he seemed very clueless. He told me that my problem was either the motor or the BCM for my wipers, but it was a 50/50 shot and my best move would be to replace one and see if it works . We finally got some help and they were able to rule out the motor so an order needed to be placed for the BCM. They charged me around $700 just for the part. After leaving, I called Mazda and they quoted me $350 for the part and said that Meineke had called them for a quote. That means that Meineke got the $350 quote and decided to DOUBLE the cost of the part. I immediately called and cancelled the part order and my follow up appointment (which was quoted at $1300 for part and installation). I got the part replaced and installed at Mazda for $600 out the door. Will not be returning here.

Horrible service! I had a Saturday 9AM appointment to get my breaks inspected and repaired. I left my car there all day, no phone call, no updates. The shop closed at 5 so I stop in at 4:30 to get my car and only the receptionist is there AND they never touched my car! It was never even inspected. They assumed I'd leave it till Monday. What are appointments for, if you're going to ignore them. I wouldn't be so bloody hot if they would have called in a reasonable time to tell me they can't get to it, so I could have made other arrangements. This is the second chance I have this shop. They NEVER call you. Do not use this shop.

Little bit on the expensive side but they do fantastic work. Never had an issue with work done after 5 visits.Front Desk guys are also shockingly kind. You'll guide you through problems without upselling you on things you don't need. They aren't scumbags

They misquoted me saying my calipers were fine, took everything apart then told me I had to pay another 350 dollars because the calipers were suddenly leaking. I told them I wanted to go somewhere else instead, and they told me I would not only have to tow the car out of there, that they would still charge me for the labor they already did. While I did receive a small savings, 45 minutes after I moved my car out of their shop, i had a completely flat tire with no nail or screw stuck in the tire. It was like some sort of damage occured, they had removed the evidence, pumped my tire full of air and sent me off without fixing it. Don't go to them! They're shiesty and will take advantage of you if they think they can get away with it!

Way over priced for diagnostic and inspection. The report that was give to me did not address the main issue why I brought the car in because I took it elsewhere to have the "issue that is causing my problem" addressed and still is not fixed. Not sure what good comes out of this place sadly.... Just wasted money sadly

Great customer service with timely and efficient customer service. I would give a stronger recommendation but my dealership charges me less for oil changes (at least last time). You would go to this place again!

I took my vehicle to Meineke to have my brakes looked at and they did a fantastic job. They are honest and thorough and kept in contact with me throughout the diagnostic and brake replacementb process and I will definitely be using them again for other car services. It is great to find a repair shop that you feel you can rely on and that you feel can provide you with honest, trustworthy diagnosises and services.

Customer service was on point. Lee helped us fix both our Dodge Ram and Durango when the the dealership failed us twice. Both vehicles needed the radiators plus more replaced and more. Being down to one car amongst a whole family was rough but Lee understood and got our vehicle repaired in a timely manner. Lee was very courteous and honest. He's a nice manager there. Their price for an inspection is much better than most other places. They didn't find everything wrong but they did a decent inspection.
