Gerber Collision and Glass is by far the best auto repair shop I have ever encountered. I have had to get my car repaired not once, but twice at their facility, and both experiences have been nothing short of exceptional.One of the key aspects that sets Gerber Collision and Glass apart is their outstanding customer service. The rating given is regrettable given the exceptional workmanship and service provided by the management. However, subsequent interactions fell short of the professionalism I would expect. Despite our insurance company's assurance of direct payment to Gerber as a preferred shop, miscommunications arose. Sarah's demeanor during these exchanges was abrupt and accusatory, taking a heavy handed collection approach. This approach conveyed a lack of appreciation & acknowledgement and suggested a preference for collecting payment directly from us, leaving us to pursue reimbursement ourselves. Once the issue was resolved, Sarah's demeanor shifted dramatically, expressing gratitude for the resolution. I suggested adopting a more positive and understanding tone from the outset, emphasizing the importance of assuming positive intent. Unfortunately, Sarah dismissed this suggestion with a dismissive "that's the way it is" attitude. Her lack of empathy and rudeness demonstrate a clear need for customer service training, particularly in de-escalating situations and assuming positive intent. I conveyed my decision not to utilize Gerber's services again due to Sarah's attitude, to which she responded with indifference and promptly ended the call.

I d definitely go with Gerber again! Ellison, Sarah, and Corrine made it easy to get our SUV fixed First, they went to bat for us by convincing insurance to cover necessary repairs,Second, they regularly texted us updates on the vehicle s progress.Third, upon completing the outside of our automobile they carefully cleaned its interior. It hasn t looked this great in years.Fourth, after we accidentally left our garage door remote in the rental and drove to a neighboring city, we emailed the Gerber team:Ellison personally went to retrieve it before the rental company drove off with it forever!A five star experience?For sure!

I was not a happy camper when my car was hit at work, but taking it to Gerber was both quicker and easier than I could have thought. They went above and beyond in all aspects of my repair from communication, to simply how they treated me in the waiting room while I was there. I was honestly shocked with the turnaround time with my car, and was prepared for a much longer wait, but they were quick to get my car back to me in perfect condition. The communication along the way was great, they even walked me through the rental car company picking me up. I don't think I had to coordinate a single thing. And they even did a quick clean of it, which was super nice--the car was delivered to them in peak mom-car condition and came back to me better than I could have imagined.

My car was in the shop from November 15th to December 30th over a minor scuff. I had my car estimated in middle of October & was told to drop it off in November. I figured they scheduled my out in enough time to order whatever parts they needed to fix my vehicle. Little did I know they had me drop off my vehicle even though none of the parts came in or did they have the staffing to work on it. I had to repeatedly call the shop to get any kind of updates & always told " the tech will get back to you ". After talking to the front desk multiples times I was told " there are 70 other vehicles on our lot, you're not our top priority right now.." There is probably 70 cars on the lot because you have customers drop them off way before you're even ready to service them. I asked at least 3 times to come pick up my vehicle until they could do the service because again it was only minor cosmetic damage & was told no. I wouldn't be upset if they would've told me to come back at a later date when they actually were ready to work on my car. Rude customer service - I understand the pandemic has put a lot of strain on business but they could've at least communicated better & been more honest with how long the services take.Service: Painting

Went there as referenced by my insurance company. Great service, clean setting, concerned about lack of safe storage of vehicles being worked on, decent estimated costs to fix some vehicle damage. Good follow-up service, waiting to get car repaired, driven by my timing not theirs.

I went in to have a collision estimate done and Andrew and Brett were super helpful. My hood latch was off due to me getting into slow roll rear end accident and my car did not have any real damage other then the hood not latching down properly. Brett was able to make some quick adjustments and my hood was secure and good to go. Everyone was very helpful and professional. Thank for your help guys!

They do not take Progressive Insurance. Hope this saves others time. This would be a good question to ask up front so folks like me don't waste our time coming in for a bid.The wait time for a bid agent to come out was longer than I expected given I had an appointment time. The bid process itself was fine and the workers were friendly.

Planned to get my vehicle repaired after a tree fell on it. The front desk person was new. Getting estimate: had to come back due to them being so disorganized they didn t even acknowledge my presence. They said they would call me to reschedule, but they didn t. Had to have my daughter take it in as their hours were not able to accommodate my work. Scheduling: I called to schedule the repair. The same front counter person answered and after telling her I was calling to schedule the repair and that I had already had the estimate she went on to try to schedule another estimate with me and I had to repeated repeat that it has been done and I needed to schedule the repair. After FINALLY accomplishing that I called back the Tuesday of the scheduled repair date which was Thursday to confirm (at this point I was a bit concerned) only to find out she didn t schedule me because she was waiting on insurance (which she then found that insurance assignment) and said there was a note that I would call back to schedule after I had recontacted my insurance company. Needless to say no appointment had been made. She then proceeded to tell me that I needed to contact the rental agency for a car I didn t need a rental car thank goodness as I would have rented a car with no work being done on my vehicle. I have since contacted my insurance company and let them know I will no longer be using this shop. Take away points: Disorganized and poor listening skills.

I had two cars with minor damage bodyworked and painted. Bodywork was good, however I had to take one car back 3 times and one car back 2 times and they still never got it right. Spending 8 to 10 hours of trips to and from the shop just to have to leave them there because they were not up to standard on paint quality was very disappointing. Time is money and it goes both ways. There were fish eyes and/or sediment in the paint on both cars even after the 5 trips, totally unacceptable. One car had vinyl striping and the estimate charged me for the removal of vinyl which they never did and then they painted on the edge of the striping, also because they never removed the striping there was a noticeable rise of paint at the edge of the stripe. Also on the other estimate they charged more for one vehicle which happens but still could not get the paint right. Both cars were brand new and I private paid and told them I was paying out of pocket but they still called my insurance and tried to make a claim, still waiting to see if my insurance tries to raise my rates. Because I private paid I either had to rent or buy another vehicle so I bought one and it took 6 weeks of messing around so it was a good thing because a rental would have cost $2000 plus, at least I can recover some of that if I resale the car I bought. I took it to Gerber because I heard they were the best and left wishing I went elsewhere.Updated: On 2/15/22, I received a follow up call from Cameron due to my above feedback. He called to see if they could make it right. I will say that Bret, Deanna, and Cameron all were very professional throughout the whole process. Cameron offered to let me bring the vehicles back again to get them right, however I opted not to do so due to the amount of previous trips I did not feel confident that the additional time spent would be worthwhile. It was nice that all were receptive to the feedback and were willing to do their best to make it right.

This place is great. It used to be Rainier Collision but from what I was told the owners retired and sold to Gerber Collision & Glass. The same great staff were there. I was concerned that maybe the service would change but I am very happy to say that it has not. I took one vehicle here for an insurance repair and loved the experience. Today I took my Ford Flex down there to have an exterior trim panel replaced. I told them that Ford wanted nearly $500 to completely replace the part. They said that was probably a pretty good estimate. They then suggested a technician look at it to see if we could find a solution that did not require complete replacement. The tech was so friendly and said it was an easy fix with some very special adhesive. Five minutes later I was on the road again and spent nothing but my time! This team has a life long customer and I will enthusiastically recommend them to others! The signage still says Rainier Collision so don't mistake when you get there if you are looking for Gerber.

After an accident I had a drop off date then it got pushed back cause of an over booking dropped it off and got a call that my truck was done early got to my truck to find dust and rock chips that had just been painted over poor paint prep and the decal wasn't put on so wasn't done 100% and poor prep work on minor damageService: Body & TrimService: Body & Trim

Liability insurance was through State Farm, so they recommended Gerber for the estimate. I was originally going to go somewhere else for the actual service, but was so impressed with the customer service, that I decided to have them do the work. They scheduled a rental car for me, kept me up to date on progress, and the car was ready at the time they told me. The car looked in better shape than it was when I dropped it off, and that did NOT include the repair work! Hoping not to have to have another collision repair done, but if I do, it will certainly be with Gerber in Gig Harbor!Service: Body & Trim

I will recommend this specific Gerber C&G to absolutely anyone.I was hit by a drunk driver and the team here treated me and my car with such care. Not only did they do an excellent job, but they were also extremely communicative. I received text updates on Tuesdays & Thursdays and they still answered my (many) questions fully and promptly.I chose this location based on reviews and I could not be happier. I brought my car in after some unidentified creep at work hit my car & ran. Rainier was professional from start to finish. They worked easily with my insurance company and are just a nice group of people. I brought my car back a week after the initial repair for a very minor issue related to the original damage repair. They answered all my questions .They offered to fix it on the spot while I waited and offered me donuts to enjoy. I was in and out of there on my way home from work in less than 10 minutes. Rodney the estimator is very knowledgeable. Don is a great mechanic who cares about his customers. The guy s got integriity. The owners treat customers like neighbors. Everybody down to the front desk staff was totally professional relaxed and kind. I usually don t gush like this when I write reviews but I am deeply impressed with Rainier collision s work. If you have the unfortunate occasion to need a car repair shop, these guys are probably the best in the area.

Excellent, quick, and professional service. I had them repair the tailgate on my Tundra last year and it came out PERFECT. I stopped by for a quick repair to a fender flare and they had me taken care of and out the door in no time! Top notch shop and friendly staff. Made 4pm appointment for estimate and arrived at 3:50pm, filled out paperwork and waited. Gentleman who came in after me immediately had estimator come out and I asked receptionist how long it would be and she replied "it's 3:59", I'll try to find someone or you'll have to wait until he comes back". She then took a call and I sat for about 10 more minutes and then walked out. Talked with manager by phone and she basically said that's the way it is, they have so many cars to work on they do the best they can." Bottom line is appointments are advisory and good chance you'll wait. I expected much more after reading so much how they pride themselves on service. Heading to smaller shop where they aren't "doing the best they can".

I can't say enough about the mechanic service here. They are trustworthy, timely, reliable and you never get the stupid front desk up sell. I've trusted them with a jeep, Honda truck, Toyota truck, Porsche 911 and most recently an Audi A7. They really can do it all. Nate is the man. I have no hesitation sending any lady here who is nervous about dealing with repair shops and being ripped off.

They did an incredible job on my car. I really appreciate the quality work and great service. Warning!! If you take your car anywhere else, you will not get service like this. Dave was my point of contact and he kept me informed the whole way through. Great Job!!!

Gerber is the best! They always treat us like family and are very attentive to our needs and work really well with our insurance company. We don't want to have to use Gerber's services because it means something happened to our vehicles but when it does happen we don't want anyone else working on our cars!

So far these guys have been awesome! They have performed excellent work, at excellent rates, in excellent time! Myself and family have use them on numerous occasions and they have saved us a lot of time and money as well as caught issues before they became serious. Definitely recommend!
