I had a unique issue with my radiator, 2 shops before I came here didn't want to fix my car because it needed some "body work" done before they can even start working on it. CTL fixed it with no issue. They can think outside the box. Thank you.

Excellent! The.owmer is straight forward and honest. He had my car repaired the next day. No long wait. We truly appreciate having a shop like this close by. It's our go to auto shop. The dealership told me they could not get my car in for over a month. And we had just bought a car from them. Very grateful for JAR!

I recently had a family member have their motor replaced at Hawk's and recommend I take my car there to have it looked at, we have been to Hawks many times over the years but this was our first time since the new owner took over. After diagnosing my car I was told I needed to replace my motor, was given a quote for it, and told I would have to pick up the motor from his seller and deliver it to him, so I rented a truck and did. A week passes and I hadn't heard anything so I called and was told the engine they had fully installed (the day after I dropped it off) was no good but I would also probably need a new starter. I asked if they had tested the motor and was told they did not, they fully installed and did diagnostics on everything but the new motor until I had called. Luckily, they did with the 2nd motor they received and sent another bad one back. They went with a different company, and that one worked and after a month, I could ger my car back. After paying far more than the initial quote (which he told me it could have been more due to them "taking all that time to install the bad motor" that he did not test or diagnose til the last option), I was at least happy to have my car back and running! After about a month of having my car back and less than 300 miles put on the motor, the idle in my car was rough so I checked under the hood. I paid for an oil change on the motor they installed and was told not to worry about an oil change for a few months, but found out there was NO oil in my car at all. (No leaks either)My family member has had their new motor for a little over 6 months, and has not put that many miles on it. Recently it started acting strange and lights were turning on so they check the oil to find it was very low. They brought it back to Hawk's where, yet again, was told they need a new motor and the one installed was out of warranty.Be weary when going here with any bigger fixes needed!

I've been coming back to Hawk's shop for decades and for very real reasons. He is the most honest and honorable mechanic that you will ever find. His rates are the most reasonable as well. He served our country. Thank you for your service, Hawk.

Hawk is an incredinle mechanic, fair, transparent, and very efficient. I drove from Seattle everytime my Honda Civic needs some sort of work and I always leave confident knowing that he did a great job and I don't have to worry about more problems coming up. He is more than fair with his prices. I absolutely recommend him not only here, but to my friends and family as well!

I've been doing business with Hawk's Japanese Auto for well over 25 years. Best, most honest mechanic in Pierce County! Excellent customer service & fair prices. No sharks at this fine establishment!!! I will only allow Hawks to service my vehicle, highly recommended!!!

The best mechanic I ve ever had work on my cars. He s an honest man and has always done only the work that is necessary. Every shop I ve ever been to has tried to tell me I needed to have more work than necessary to fix my problem. I ve never had to question Hawk, and his work is always excellent. And he s the nicest guy!

Just called. A guy answered without saying the company name. I took my vehicle that went Hawk was the owner. Now I'm not sure about these guys. I asked how many mechanics there were and he asked me why was I asking him that. I don't think I want to do business with them

Hawk is amazing. You won't find a a nicer or more honest mechanic anywhere! Never gives a surprise bill. Has great communication of what he's doing and what the car needs before he moves forward and then throughout the whole fix.

I am not the type of person who won't shout it from the mountain tops when I think I have found a great and "honest" mechanic. Also known as Hawk's Asian Auto repair, Hawk was very expedient in figuring out what was wrong with my car. I called him to arrange it being dropped off after hours, left the key in the drop off slot and it was ready the next day. I was unable to collect my car until after hours again but made arrangements as to where I could find my key. Very affordable, very good work. Will return for future work.

My Toyota Camry broke down about a mile from this shop and I had it towed to it. Although I had driven past this shop many many times before, I had never been a customer. The reviews I read about this shop almost made me feel as though they paid someone to say such nice things. ( I am not being paid to write this ) what I experienced at Japanese Auto Repair will bring me back any time I need service. My car arrived around 1PM and I was able to pick it up the next day at 2PM. It needed a water pump, timing belt, and oil gasket. I received outstanding customer service, an invoice that was WAY LESS than I expected, and a new mechanic. I highly recommend this Shop!

I can't say enough good things about Hawk's Japanese Auto Repair. They do excellent work, their prices are more than fair (we paid 60% of the dealer quoted repair on a job!), they are responsive, nice, flexible (I had to call at the last minute and reschedule my appointment - no problem) and well worth the 35 mile drive from Issaquah to Fife! I wouldn't take my car anywhere else - thank you Hawk!

I have been bringing my cars to Hawk since 2006. He is an amazining and honest mechanic rooted in good Christian values. I needed to do the timing belt service on my Acura MDX the dealership quoted me $2800 for the work. I took it to Hawk and gave him the list of things to be done and I was charged $1500. I have had two Honda S2000's, an Acura TL, my current Honda Accord, and my current Acura MDX all serviced here.I don't know about anyone else but the dealership charges an insane amount for mechanic work and they can get away with it mostly because people have an inherent trust in the dealership to do good work. But they don't! Dealerships have a lot of overhead to pay for that's why their prices are outrageous. In my experience I have seen no better work from a dealership and in many times worse service.Hawk is a tremendously honest guy. I brought my Honda in and asked him to do some work on it. He looked the car over and when I came to pick it up he fixed what was needed but some of the things I asked for he said didn't need to be done yet and to save my money. What other mechanic has that kind of honesty. When you walk into his office the wall is covered from floor to ceiling with thank you cards and notes. If some people have had a bad experience here I would assume they might be difficult people in general to deal with and therefore impossible to please. As long as I drive japanese cars I will forever take my vehicles to Hawk for service. This kind of repair shop is rare to find and I am so thankful to have found it.

Hawk is an honest hard working person who strives to give you the best price available. I've had a couple of questions after he's done work on my 99 CRV and he welcomed me back for a test drive so he could explain what he found to be a problem

I don't know where all these five star reviews are coming from. My experience with Hawk was different. I was having brake pressure issues so I brought my car to Hawk's repair shop since I found all these great reviews about him on yelp. I told him my pedal was dropping all the way to the floor with no pressure. He inspected the car and told me it was just the front brake pads, rear rotors & rear brake pads that needed to be replaced. So I told him to just replace the rear rotors because I can replace the pads myself. Also the thickness of the front pad had plenty of life left because I checked before I brought it to him.He seemed upset and adamant about replacing all the parts still. According to his diagnosis it was the rotors & pads so I let him replace the rears. I got the car back from him and it did feel a little better and the brake pedal didn't drop to the floor that day but the next day the same issue happened again. This time it was worse because there was no brake fluid in my brake master cylinder. It disappeared. Before I brought my car to Hawk my brake fluid was full in the master cylinder but now it disappears when I drive the car making it unsafe to drive. So his diagnosis was wrong.Replacing the rotors and pads did not fix the problem. Now I have to bring it to another mechanic for a proper diagnostic. If Hawk couldn't diagnose a brake problem what makes you think he can diagnosis a major engine problem. I won't be bringing my car back to him. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Took our car in for regular service to another shop. Left with $3,000 worth of recommended repairs. Took it to Hawk. He went over the entire car and fixed only what needed to be fixed for under $300. Car is running great. He's honest and skilled. Highly recommend.

Absolutely the best mechanic I have ever dealt with and I'm 50. Honest to a fault! He has saved me thousands and has been nothing but helpful! Hawk's integrity is absolutely above reproach as you can see from his hundreds of 'Thank You' cards - when another mechanic lied to me, telling me that he had to replace the engine for $4500, Hawk told me that the mechanic was trying to rip me off and worked on it for almost nothing. Really, I only buy Japanese cars because I don't want anyone other than Hawk to work on my car. I'm willing to bet Mr BEWARE! Poor work... is a false complaint from a competing store that failed to rip off a customer because of him.

Another shop told me my 4Runner needed a new engine because, at over 300k miles, one cylinder was getting low on compression. I thought that was suspect, since it had never consumed any oil and the 3RZ engine has a known issue with valve adjustment.Got a second opinion at Hawk s, where they were able to fix a valve sealing issue on my original cylinder head and have it running like new again! Even if you have an extremely common car that you think anyone can figure out, bring it to a specialist to get a better result the first time!

I've been going to Hawks for probably 20 years it's a great place to get your Asian car repaired. Prices are very reasonable and Hawk himself is a pleasure just to know. I would recommend it to anybody

Honestly, Hawk is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. He is straight forward, always on time, never beats around the bush, and never overcharges. I have been with Hawk for about 10 years now, and I can't even imagine taking my car anywhere else. I will be with Hawk till the day he retires.

Went in with a dead battery and was expecting another mechanic to try and rip me off like some places do, followed by telling me a me a list of possible issues without a solution. Instead I walked away without paying a dime. All I needed was a replacement since I was sold a bad battery beforehand. Honesty is hard to find, Mr. Hawk will be getting my business again if I need him.

I had my engine replaced in this shop. I did not bother to get the old engine which can be sold at 300 because I was grateful that he repaired my car. After 3 months, the engine failed. The engine was bought with a compression test from another dealer. When I had it checked with Hawk, he cannot make an estimate when it will be done and kept saying there is a problem with a starter. When I pulled it from his shop and had another mechanic to check, I was surprised that the engine was never replaced! For 2K bucks, he lost my respect. The car is a Mitsubishi Galant 2001. I will never take my car ever from this shop! Be careful if you continue bringing your car to his shop!

Hawk is the best mechanic you could ever have. My family has used his shop for a very long time. It's one the many reasons we only buy Japanese cars.

We were told our vehicles' repair would take the afternoon, that turned into one day, then two days, then three days for a relatively quick job. I finally just lost it over the phone when they said ONE more day. I arrived 20 minutes before they said it would be ready, and Hawk himself was there slapping it together to hit that last promised deadline.

We have taken a couple of our cars to Hawk's. He is honest about the work that needs to be done and charges very fair. I won't be taking my cars anywhere else.

I usually do my own mechanic work and am very funny about who touches my vehicles. I can not stress enough how dependable and efficient they are here. Not only that they will not waste your money on repairs that are unnecessary. I would give them 10 stars if I could
