Update- The owner called to help resolve this issue right away, we talked and he did his investigation. We made a plan to resolve the issue and I'm beyond more then pleased with the service. Everyone apologized more than means. I truly appreciate the help and support, as well as the discount on service. I went from looking at a $7000 fix and they helped out by cutting $1400 for the miscommunication and mishap. I will definitely be bringing my van back and will be bringing my other vehicles in as well. Thank you so much for the care!I love supporting small local businesses, was planning to bring in 2 more cars that need work. But the workers couldn't even be upfront with me about fixing my transmission tubing, told me it would fix the issue I was having. Spent 1000$ on transmission tubes and a oil change, for the issue to start back up 2days later and when I instant took it to them they told me my transmission was shot and there's nothing to do but "drive it till it dies" is what I was told. I am definitely never coming back and will not recommend this shop to anyone. Says they care for customers but after they get paid they may switch up and laugh in your face about it.

Wanted to give a huge thanks to Eric and the rest of the Northshore Automotive Team. I brought my Camry in for tires and a basic tune up, and upon further inspection Eric noticed there was also an issue with one of the upper motor mounts. He called up one of his parts guys and they had a replacement motor mount there in just under an hour! They got it installed and I was back on the road. Will definitely be coming back for all of my automotive repair needs! 10/10 service and hospitalityServices: Tires, Battery, Oil change

Northshore replaced the timing belt and water pump and the drive belt on my vehicle. The job took longer than expected, so Nick provided a loaner at no charge. My car is running perfectly. I also appreciated the free comprehensive inspection so I know what will need attention.

I have been using Northshore Automotive for a very long time now. They are one of very few shops I trust. The last work done was quick and came in under the original estimate. That says a lot for their integrity. I recommend them to everyone I know.

My husband and I had to get a starting issue diagnosed and fixed, after carefully looking though the reviews of many businesses in our area we found that not only did Northshore Automotive had the most consistently positive reviews but they were also voted best in Federal way for 3 consecutive years and decided to use them.We are both so delighted that we listened to those countless other customers that had a similar outstanding experience with this family owned business.I just can't put into words how pleased we are with not only the impeccable service we've received, but the transparent and consistent communication through out the diagnosis and repair process.Eric was an absolute pleasure and we want to extend our appreciation to the techs that helped fix our old lady fondly named big Bertha.Although she is aging like fine wine we are aware in the future she may need some more work and are delighted that Northshore Automotive will be the ones to help us keep her (and us) on the road.Thank you all again so muchThe hawkins family.

I love Northshore Automotive. I have been taking all of my cars to them since 2012 and the work is always excellent quality. The team is super nice and always make sure your well educated on your vehicle and the work needing to be done, etc. I have never had a bad experience here, very honest and hard working. Not the cheapest shop in town but you are paying for the quality and peace of mind that having your car serviced at Northshore provides.

Had my cars serviced here and have sent all my friends and family here! Knowledgeable crew and friendly staff! Their technician Jason will inform me and help understand why what s happening, is happening. Their service writer Nick is extremely friendly and just seems like the kind of guy I want to grab a beer with!

BEWARE OF SYSTEM QUOTE CHANGESReceived a quote for 150k mile service on my Ford F150 12/29/23. Thought the quote was reasonable as it was roughly $800. Scheduled service on 2/2/24 and agreed to the 150k service and requested an inspection for other issues. Did not know the quote changed to $2200! (that is without the cooling system service of $438+ $127 cooling sys diagnostics)That did not include any repairs for the issues noted from the inspection. ~$750 for spark plug replacement and another ~$750 for transmission fluid change as part of the 150k service? That s outrageous.When I called to ask why the quote was way higher than the initial quote, I was told that it is because the service is higher for fords and when questioned about the spark plugs, oh those are the required parts and yes they are expensive .I called 2nd to ask what work had been completed as I was ready to pick it up since it was Friday and was told they may need it until Monday. The person told me he d call back with the status.Received no status update. When I told my husband, he was pissed and raced over to find out why the changed the quote to >$2k.Got there before they closed. They did not complete the full service and was going to keep the truck until Monday without telling us. Husband told them we ll cash out with what they did so far at $796.When you get an initial quote via email, there s a link to the shops portal. If The quote changes you will not see the original quote. Make sure you take a snapshot of the original quote and ask how much the service is to see if the amounts align before you get service. Especially if you re a woman because for whatever reasons I feel like I was scammed and my husband was incredibly pissed off about it. So disappointed we ll never go here again.

I was happy with the service I got at Northshore Automotive. They did a great job on our car! I highly recommend them, and even still go to them, even though we moved to another city.

My experience with North shore automotive was impressive. As a rule being a woman I have a tendency to be Leary when it comes to auto repairs. This experience has been a game changer. Honest expedient and very accommodating. I am so glad I found them. Thanks again Nick God bless you.

Nick sees that you know upfront any and all costs. If they find a new issue, they call with the word of extra cost and if you want them to fix it.No surprises then when you come to pick up your car and make payment. When spending big bucks one needs to feel they can trust.

Northshore Automotive is the best of many repair shops that I deal with nationwide. I am responsible for 80 vehicles nationwide and have dealt with repair shops in multiple states. I get a quick diagnosis and what it should take to fix it. Once I accept the repair, the shop quickly procurs the parts to begin the fix. I am updated when parts will arrive if something unusual and once parts arrive, my vehicle is quickly repaired.Price is as estimated and receipts are emailed for my records. I've never had to return because something was not completed correctly. All vehicle repairs are expensive, but I've always received fair pricing and solid results at Northshore Automotive.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Steering & suspension replacement, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Transmission replacement, Brakes, A/C installation & repair

This review is late, but I want people to know what kind of business this is. At the end of summer I took my truck in to have the A/C looked at.They told me they had to do an assessment and quoted me something in the $300 range. A bit pricey, since I told them exactly what was wrong. I had already diagnosed the problem.Two days later, they told me they needed to do a deeper dive and it would cost another $450. They had the truck for two more days before I finally went there and told them I needed my truck back.He listed a number of things they wanted to fix, none of which were my A/C, which I declined. I paid almost $800 and they gave me a copy of their "diagnostic work" that listed every component of the A/C system, and every one indicated that it *may* need to be replaced.So, they didn't know.They charged me almost $800, did two assessments, (allegedly) had my truck for 4 days, and the result was that they still didn't know what was wrong, in spite of me telling them exactly what was wrong when I dropped it off.This shop is overcharging and not doing the work that they are telling their customers.

The service and care for my 2014 Cadillac 2.0T has been outstanding. Prior to finding this shop in an emergency situation I had taken my vehicle only to Cadillac for service.. for everything..Since experiencing Northshore I have not had any service done by the dealer..my vehicle runs great..I highly recommend Northshore Automotive for excellent car care..

Brought my car in for an oil change and to diagnose a thumping sound when it was in AWD. Turns out the drive shaft was literally falling off and Northshore caught it immediately, they advised that the car was not safe to drive and even helped me look up my power train warranty. Luckily it was still covered so I could get it towed to a dealership for a full replacement complements of GM! Thank you Northshore for figuring it out so quickly and saving me from a potentially horrible accident and saving me some serious cash as my warranty is only in effect for a short time longer!

They are an absolutely no hurry to return your car to you once they figure out you aren't going to be spending any more money there for a while. Going on three days of them holding my car and giving me this "I'll get to it when I get to it" attitude about returning it to me. They even seemed very surprised that I would need the car at all, and started condescendingly giggling.They gave me a very high repair estimate so I mentioned that I would just be buying another car instead, at which point they stopped doing any work. However, did these people not consider that I would be needing a mechanic for the new car as well?! Before deciding I was useless to them, they should have looked at the possibility that this may not be my last car.So because they've already been paid and they're isn't anything else to do other than put the engine back together so I can drive the car away, they are refusing to do anything. At one point I became suspicious and since I live close I walked by the shop and they were goofing off, reading a romance novel of all things. They had plenty of time to do their jobs but no motivation.Extremely childish people who make no effort to retain customers and make it very clear they only work when they feel like it. I guess if you bring your vehicle here, you need to verbally tell every single person who works here that you do actually drive and rely on that vehicle, not that it will be returned to you any sooner.I noticed they are short-staffed and now I think I know why.

Had my car towed to Northshore Automotive for a Diagnostic test. It was a Catalytic converter problem and it has to be done by a muffler shop because it is a 1996 Ford Thunderbird. Me being Handicapped and very low on money Eric has been more than commentating for me to get it out of his yard. I can't say how much I appreciate it. I've been going to Northshore for 15 years and won't go anywhere else.

I'm a little upset took my car in to get a full check up to see what was wrong they told me I needed a new timing belt and water pump and to pretty much change all the gaskets and everything in my engine which would have cost me $6000 (aka really a new engine) I went to another place and come to find out all I needed was a vapor canister for 300$ and everything else was fine... the assumption they made could have cost me thousands...I dont like that and even if it was a water pump ..just change that. Thanks you
