I regularly take my Honda Civic to Jim s Detail Shop in Federal Way to have it washed and twice a year to have it detailed. I m always very satisfied with the appearance of my vehicle after the technicians finish the job. Where to start. These days it s difficult to find a business that actually cares about what they do AND how their customer will appreciate the hard work. Kevin gave me a quote to remove tint and replace on my car. Great price. Went in today and came home with a 2001 car that looked brand new. They are a full satisfaction type business. Kevin put his heart into my project and went over and beyond. Please at least check them out. You won t be disappointed.

This review is coming in a bit late but I still wanted to post and be sure that I give Jim s a shout out for the great job that was done on my Camaro. I had brought my car in for a detail toward the end of last summer (2022). I usually don t drive it much in the fall or winter and keep it garaged or covered until the following spring, just taking it out every now and again to stretch its legs. Because the car is black, it is a pain to keep clean. A couple years ago I did have a ceramic coating done which helps a bit, but getting a black car looking close to perfect is still a daunting task in ANY state that the finish of a car may be in. I made my appointment with Jim s detail for the date I had chosen a few days later than my initial visit. Jim s had been recommended from a friend who had been a repeat customer of the shop. I dropped it off on a Friday morning and the Camaro was finished by the end of that same day. The effort and hard work that was done with my car was obvious as soon as I saw it. The pictures attached with this review tell the story. I will be back at the end of this summer. The price is reasonable, the work is outstanding, and they are a good hard working group at Jim s!Services: Full body wash, Auto detailing, Wheel washing, Auto interior vacuuming, Car waxing

Our 1st time using Jim's Detail. Henry was great to deal with. The price he quoted was what we paid, no surprises. We could not stop smiling when he pulled our 2012 Camry out. Beyond our expectations. Jim's crew seemed just as happy about the results as we were. Thanks and I've already scheduled our 2014 Veza for the same treatment.

I drop my four-year-old car off to get washed and hand waxed. They made it look like it was new. They took their time and got it right. Lucky enough I live close to home to where I just went home. They tinted my front two windows 3 35%, and they look wonderful. Lifetime warranty for $89.

Came to pick it up and there was a crease in the tent they put on, Keven told me they have been tinting windows for 40 years but thought I wouldn t notice or it wouldn t be a big deal? He was telling me he knew it was there, so he just didn t wanna do it right? He tried to guilt me into paying for it, but there s dust and debris and scratches on all the window tint they installed.That s just the start, paid 305$ for a lazy detail and Kevin was condescending and trying to make me feel bad for being so picky about wanting my car cleaned properly. In front of me he was spitting on my car and on a brush to clean areas of my car that I will be touching every day! Disgusting!The final straw for this review was on my day off having to clean my car myself I am finding glue and tint scraps under my seats. This is ridiculous..Never offered any kind of discount or refund on the horrible services they didn t finish.Services: Full body wash, Engine detailing, Auto detailing, Wheel washing, Window tinting, Auto interior vacuuming, Car waxing

Nice staff.Update. Took my other car here to have it detailed. When I came and got my car my radio screen was blank. My radio was still working tho. But what am I gonna do with a blank radio?? I felt I deserve some type of compensation because my radio was perfect when I gave to Jims to detail, but not now. I spoke with Kevin the manager, but he was only interested in showing me often this happens to my brand of car on YouTube videos. I'm like dude what are you gonna do for me? You or your company broke my radio. Overall in the end all I got is a radio with a blank screen and a ebay printout of where I can buy my own replacement radio. So yeah they lost a customer today. I'll pay the extra money at Car toys. They do a better job detailing anyhow.

Had a great experience here! Customer service was awesome and my car came out amazing. It felt brand new again, I couldn't believe it. I drive a 16 Subaru Forester and have dogs, cats, and all the mess to prove it. You wouldn't know looking at it now, there's not a hair left. Adam was fantastic. That engine bay looks like its showroom fresh and the headlight restoration job lets me see in the dark again finally. Literally, when I got dropped back off after the car was done I didn't realize it was mine! 1 star is being kind. With the experience i have endured with this company, has been awful. I made an appointment, pick up was the following Thursday. I called the shop, no answer...called a few hours, no answer. I come to pick up my vehicle. The car was left outside, the condition was the same. It appeared as if nothing was done. I told them to clean certain areas, and that i would pick it up the next day. The lack of professionalism is very real. They had charged me $213 for my car to be detailed . A week after I decided to clean the car myself, upon moving the rear seats. Noticed these stains haven t been touched what so ever. This being said. Do yourself a favor. Save your time, money and head someplace else. I am not a pleased customer.

I work a split shift so, I dropped my car off which have them 3 hours to work. Got my car and a miracle had been performed. It was brand new.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!

Called in and got appointment for window tinting in 2 days. Friendly and knowledgeable manager. I dropped off my vehicle early without any problem and they had my vehicle done ahead of time and called to notify me as soon as it was finished. The manager gave a clear description of post-treatment care for the window film and explained their warranty.

IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! Says they've had a customer satisfaction guarantee since 1978. Obviously doesn't apply to everyone. Had my car washed there last Friday and there is water spots all over it that won't even pull out with detailer. There's some sort of etching into the the back glass that looks like it was caused by acid or dirty water and won't come off even with clay bar and when called and confronted about it the guy on the phone who I just found out is the owner basically told me not to come back. Update: First off I haven't been coming there for years. Second you told me to take my business elsewhere on the phone when I called you about the issues. Third I never said anything about the employees there. Jim's wants to say my car was dried and that I'm just a fussy guy? No. there's water spots that cannot be removed all over the car and the car has been in my garage since I brought it home from their detail shop and it did not rain that day so there was no water anywhere on road. Whatever chemical they used for washing has actually etched water channel marks down my back glass and cannot be removed either and they'll probably try to say it was done elsewhere like they did to me on the phone. WRONG. Only place that has washed my car in the last year is Jims and instead of taking responsibility and doing the right thing they just blame the customer and make them find a way to fix it themselves. Also have my window tinting done by this shop with their supposed warranty and now they get to not have to honor that cause they wanna lie. All the employees here are good guys who work hard and try their best to make customers happy it's just the owner who answers the phones and treats customers like their stupid that is problem here. I also never said that the car was not thoroughly dried because it was and I was out there with the employee while he was drying it except for the last few minutes and if the owner who answered the phone would have listened to me instead of trying to put the blame elsewhere immediately I would have explained exactly where the water spots were and could've been taken care of quickly and easily. This whole situation was handled very unprofessionally. All you had to say was I'm sorry to hear you had issues with your service, can you bring it by and we'll look at it and see what we can do for you but no you had to start throwing accusations of it being done somewhere else right away without even asking where my concerns were on the vehicle and then tell me to bring it in to be looked at and possibly taken care of but after that don't come back. All of this could have been avoided if you actually had customer service skills. Would give you the chance to apologise and make things right but I'll never come back as long as it's still owned by current owner. Update as of 3/13/19 They had Kevin the same person I spoke with on phone and mentioned above call me asking to clarify the conversation we had about the issues saying I'm obviously out to get them. Not true at all. All I wanted was for the service they provided that I had an issue with to be corrected and probably would've taken around 20 minutes if that especially if they have a guarantee since 1978 like they keep stating but I do not appreciate being harassed especially by the owner.

TL/DR: Avoid Jim's at all costs, these guys are jerks that don't know what customer service is.So I'm calling around for window tint and decide to call Jim's on a recommendation from a coworker. The guy on the phone ( Kevin, the owner I later find out) warns me about other places taking off my rear tint since that could ruin my defroster and then hard sells me that they can just tint over my current tint since I just wanted it darker, all the while going on about how they've been in business for 41 years and all that. Solid interaction since he warned me about some shady practices from other shops and I decide to go with Jim's for my tint service. Positive so far...That all changed on the day of my appointment at their Federal Way location. I arrived early since I needed them to finish before noon for reasons, so I wanted to be there right at 9 when they opened. I arrived at 8, but was just chilling in the back of my car ( I have a wagon ) and watched the Jim's guys opening up. One of the guys came out of one of the bays and I offered a friendly "Good Morning" to him (later to find out that it was Jason) and he shot me a look like I had just said something derogatory about his mom. Ok, whatever...So I go inside to their reception area and ring the button to alert the people inside. Lo and behold, it's the gentleman that I offered a good morning to, rushes in to deal with me. Jason was not friendly whatsoever and exuded a vibe that made me felt like he didn't want me to be there and that I was wasting his time. We discuss the different tint levels and which windows they'd be going on and then drops a gem on me...If they tint over the current tint, they won't be able to warranty the work. A detail that Kevin conveniently left out of our phone discussion to get me to come in. So at this point I've taken a half day off from work and I'm already there, so I'm feeling conflicted and say to Jason, "I've taken half a day off work and I don't have the time for you guys to take off the old tint..." To which he replies, "Yeah, neither do I..." Uh, wut? O_o I should have walked at that point, but made the mistake to have them do the work anyway. The actual tint job was decent. The customer service, yeah not so much.To top it all off, they scratched up one of my rims (see pic) and scratched my dash. Like the dust/metal shavings from the damage to the rim was still on my tire since it stuck to the tire polish that they put on. I called up the store and voiced my annoyance at them damaging my car. The fellow I talked to (Not Kevin or Jason) was nice. Things went downhill fast when Jason called me back about the damage.He was completely dismissive and unconcerned about it, claiming that there wasn't anything in the shop that they could hit and basically saying that it wasn't them. Ok, then I guess it's the road rash fairies then? The "dust"/metal shavings were still on the tire. He continues to blow me off and going on about how there's no way that they could damage my car and then offers to have the owner call me to discuss it more.Weeks go by without contact. So I call the Seatac store so I don't have to talk to Jason again and luckily happen to get the owner, Kevin. Yeah, he's as unconcerned and dismissive as Jason was and now I know where Jason learned it. Kevin did offer to have me come down and have them take a look and then walk me through the bay to "show" me that the damage was in no way their fault. I could just tell by his tone and demeanor that it'd just be a waste of my time. Obviously I didn't want a new set of rims, but at the very least I wanted some culpability for the damage and the horrid customer service and an apology. Kevin couldn't even offer that. Horrible experience that I completely regret. I would have been happier paying more at a different location than going with these guys. But they got me in their shop and then my time constraints and the fact I had already wasted half a day to get the tint completed worked in their favor.

I took in our 10-year-old Prius to Jim's Detail this week. It was honestly grimy and I have gone to many detail shops. I spoke to Andrew about what I needed. He listened politely that morning. I couldn't believe the customer care that I received from the team, and when we got it back it was almost closing hour, and they were still working through the detail. The car came out so clean; the carpets and mats were steam-cleaned and came out better than new and everything smells great. And honestly so much better service than any of the places I've been in the past. Absolutely excellent service, & the interior/exterior has never looked as good since it left the showroom floor The pricing is amazingly low. I got a level 3 detail for about $250 + tax. I couldn't be more pleased.

These guys are GREAT. I have had several of my cars windows tinted here and when I pick up the car, they are washed and polished so clean I didn't recognize them! The tint job is impeccable. Impossible to complain here! I have a few more cars to bring here as soon as I can. Next time I am going to have them wax the car as well, I know that is going to be awesome.

DO NOT GO HERE! I would highly recommend STAYING AWAY from this place, specifically the Federal Way location. I went in for a deep clean detail on my Kia Soul on August 5th 2021. When I got my car back on the way I home I realized that about a dozen important BUTTONS were damaged and not working on my steering wheel and dashboard. All of them were perfectly fine before I brought them in and PAID $335 (including $35 tip).My car got a MOLDY smell because they did not use fans or any professional fans/air out system. They did not ask me if I wanted fans to help dry out my car and instead put the heat on full blast with the windows up which is probably what damaged the car. There s a small sign on the counter at the desk that says, Let us know if you want us to use fans when staff should verbally be asking or just using it for everyone ? I have been airing my car out and leaving the windows cracked at all times, but the musty moldy smell is awful.Of course, the most frustrating part was calling the store and them saying there was NOTHING THEY COULD DO, but maybe a fuze blew which I will now have to pay for. I emailed the only email address listed online a week ago and they still have not replied, but I bet that they will reply to this post now that it is impacting their business not that it will change anything unfortunately. This place seems to all be about gas lighting.In addition, my best friend of 13 YEARS (who I haven't seen in years) flew out from Florida right after the cleaning (which is why I got it) and we travelled across Washington which was amazing, however, the amount of buttons that are not working was agitating on top of the CAT PISS SMELL from the sopping wetness.I also thought that it was funny when the staff member checking me in when I dropped off my car asked, Do you want me to get ALL OF THE DOG HAIR? I didn t have much dog hair because I vacuum my car constantly. However, before I could say anything I guess he saw facial expression of confusion and my brain processing so he said, I mean we are going to get the dog hair, but like do you want me to sit there with a fine tooth comb forever? I said no, because it s not a big deal, but the entire experience was odd and upsetting. I am most upset though for NOT RECEIVING FINANCIAL COMPENSATION as a young single person who only has so much money.GO SOMEWHERE ELSE and spare yourself the hassle, damage to your car, waste of money, and unhelpful customer service. I don t think I have ever written a Google Review until now which shows how much this effected me!Services: Steam cleaning, Full body wash, Auto detailing

Jim s is the most incredible detailing service I have ever used.. My car had been sitting in the driveway waiting for the funds to get repairs done and the inside got moldy. And on top of that we have triplets and 2 of them have autism. When they were younger they would throw food and other things all over the car. Well, now that Jim s Detail has worked on it, it is very close to like new and it is a 2008 Taurus X so it does have some miles on it. Jim s Detail did an incredible job at an extremely fair price. If you need your car detailed they are the ones you need to go to!!!!!Service: Auto detailing

Started badly and turned out great! Due to an error in setting up my appointment, the shop wasn't ready for me when I showed up. Went home and then got a call from the owner apologizing and offering to make it up to me. On a date of my choice, he picked up my car from my house (UW area of Seattle), took it to his shop, did a great job of doing a level 3 detail with a little extra, and returned it to me about 5 hours later. The owner was very concerned about the customer experience, and went the extra mile. I have only detailed my car once before at a different shop, and the quality of Jim's Detail work is head and shoulders above the other shop's work. I am very pleased with the work.

My husband got a Dodge Challenger and want is windows tinted. Jim's retail shop does a great job with window treatments!We've had other cars done by them in the past and they did such a good job that's why we always go back.They do a pretty mean interior detail job too!! I always make sure they have dried the carpets really well tho... It was the only problem I've ever had personally.. but they were happy to re-suction the carpets again...Will continue to go to Jim's Detail Shop!!!

Excellent service. Customer satisfaction is their number one priority and given the chance they will prove it. They will make your car look and feel fresh again. Don't hesitate to call and ask questions or even give them feed back friendly all around and would do business here again any day of the week.

It's been a week since I've had my ten year old car polished. I walk up to it and it's like a mirror. I had no idea it could look so good. They got out the scratches from my trips to the woods, and shined up my wheels. The inside is incredible too. After a summer of sand and dirt roads, I don't see a trace. I could not have gotten it to this condition if I spent two days on it. Such a pleasure to have a business do what they promise, and to have it ready when they said they would.

1st time visit. I brought my 1996 Ford F-150 Eddie Bauer truck to have the engine cleaned. Andrew was the person that helped me. They did a great job and I was very impressed with service! I plan to give them more business in the future.
