It is difficult to rate the rooms, since they are very rustic, but that's the vibe here. The location is great and you are right on the beach. You are never far from anywhere on Orcas Island, so I give the location 5 stars due to the proximity to the water and fact that you are facing west so get sunsets over the Pacific. I may have given the rooms four stars instead of three had the beds been more comfortable; however, while the bed in our main room was okay, the other bed and the futon were rough. Had we been staying with anyone else, they would likely not have been happy (a small child may have been okay). The service was great and all the staff were very friendly. The other guests kept to themselves but no one was rude.Overall, were I to go back to Orcas I would consider staying here again. The pictures are of our cabin and the view from the beach. I will say that there are cabins scattered all around. If you want a cabin on the beach, make sure to pick one on the map correctly.

Rooms are meh. Furniture arranged weird, bedrooms cramped, bed made me hurt. Very quiet and decent kitchen for a cabin. The wood burning stove is great as well. Outdoor area is nice and cozy. Great location and the staff are friendly. Best for just coming as a couple, I think a group would feel crowded out fast.Rooms: Small and frillessNearby activities: Hiking, fishing, scenic drive, eclectic shopping.Food & drinks: Just okay food and drink here and in the area.

Nestled away in a quiet bay with stunning views, this is the perfect getaway we needed! Quiet, cozy, ocean view cabins- great price for the quality and experience. Friendly support staff that was super helpful. Great selection of snacks, beer, wine, etc and the pizza js pretty dang good! 10/10 would stay here again. Would love to come back in the summer!

This place is amazing. We went in January. The cabin was right on the water with a fireplace on the beach. We are going back in September. The prices are a bit high, but the cabins are furnished and all amenities. There are glamping tents available during peak season and tents and rv spaces as well.Walkability: The property is huge and great for walks with pets or kids.Food & drinks: There is a mini store where you can purchase food, desserts, fishing bait, cat and dog food.Noteworthy details: Boat, kayak, and fishing equipment rentals.

Had a lovely stay in early August. It's a nice location, and sunsets on the beach were wonderful. Staff was pleasant. Campsite was a grassy patch with a picnic table, no electrical or water, which was fine as my rig is self contained. However, for $76/night, I really would have expected free showers, not coin operated. Additionally, it would be nice if their bathrooms/showers were better lit inside at night. All in all, I would stay there again.

Cabin 19 was a pleasure to use for the week of our vacation! The bedrooms and baths were spacious. The kitchen pretty much had everything we needed to make meals (note: the electric stove needs to be replaced as it is ridiculously small for the kitchen and was a nightmare to cook on). If we needed anything, the office staff was always accommodating. The scenery in the area is beautiful. And the dock bar was a great place to meet people for a beer or cider. Overall, our vacation at West Beach Resort was awesome! We would go back in a heartbeat!

Tent's spot was good, the lawn was well maintained and equipped, the walkways well organized. Buoys for the boats and dock available on demand. Several other services on rent that could make your stay very pleasant. What from my point of view should be improved is the store, they should provide more and better food, for long visits it's difficult to carry too much stuff with you. More than this, I think the restroom situation is definitely improvable. The faucet is designed to wash just one hand at a time, Just three toilets per restroom. Showers running with coins. Also there is a pond covered by algae, that was very gross. All in all, a very nice place to camp.

Second time staying here and stayed in Cabin 11. I like the waterfront and ocean view cabins. The waterfront are nice since you have the water right there but the oceanfront are more private. Cabin 14 is a good one next to the hot tub and close to store/Cafe. Since they are close to water, they can have ants and knats which can be annoying. The cabins have a firepit and they provide you with firewood. They have covered porch which is also nice and the parking spot is right on the side of the cabin. There is a boat launch, and ping Pong table, Horseshoes, Volleyball and some other games around the resort. Awesome spot to cold plunge/swim! There was 3 otters that we watched playing in the water on both day 1 and 2. They have really good pizza and pulled pork sandwiches, and the Lopez Island Ice Cream is the best!

Variety of accommodation available from campsites to cabins by the water and glamping tents. The washrooms and showers were cleaned regularly. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The best part of the stay was when Tom the owner yells FREE POPCORN and all the residents of the resort including the dogs come running to the waterfront. There are also kayaks for rent and fishing trips that leave off the pier. Next time I would like to reserve a waterfront cabin as it looked cosy and fun. Sunsets at this place are just superb. A great summer destination. The cafe has nice coffees.

This was one of the better RV parks of it's type that I have stayed in. The location is perfect for day trips and excursions all around the island and the sites are very nice. The bathrooms and showers were also nice and very clean, which helps with not having a sewer hook up. The store and cafe are awesome and a great place to grab a beer and watch the sunset in the evenings.

The location is amazing and you will have a great time as long as you don't forget anything important. The store is lack luster and doesn't carry anything they used to. The rooms are just a reg room nothing fancy. The old owner was way better at taking care of this place. UPDATE I'm 19 and was with my parents. Last time I was there was 4 years ago and the lady that worked there was Kim, she was super nice. Now it's some lady that has no idea how to run the store. Now let's see what you have to say now. The place is still awesome. It's the service that was meh.

We just left after a lovely four nights at West Beach resort. The staff in the store was very kind and accommodating Ice cream and beverages on tap were a bonus as well as lattes in the morning. It was great to have our cabin right on the beach. We could watch the kids from our patio exploring when the tide was out in the afternoons. There were hermit and sand crabs and other little sea creatures we have yet to identify. The beach was super kid friendly for littles when the tide was out! Also swings and a play structure as a bonus. We enjoined watching the sunset from the hot tub up on the hill. Only -1 star was because the cabin was really cozy. We were expecting queen size beds in the 2 rooms and they were full. Maybe our error on not reading the fine print. Also no dishwasher and a teeny fridge. Over all it was an amazing place to stay and we plan to come back again!

What a gem! Right out of a movie. Beautiful setting and property. Bonfire in the evening, right by the dock. Little shop/cafe with fishing gear, coffee, and snacks. The homemade pizza and cinnamon rolls were tasty. They have kayaks for rent. LOVED that it was dog friendly. HIGHLY recommend this place for your next vacation! Very impressed with the experience. (Tom and his wife, working in the cafe, were amazing employees.)

I can t say enough about this place! I have been going here for more than 7 year and every single time it is an amazing experience!! The local ice cream they serve at the cafe is to die for! The friendly staff are amazing, and very good at their jobs. The cabins we re getting a bit old but they recently renovated them and they look much better and their free Wi-Fi is now reliable which is an added bonus. Thank you west beach resort for the the memories you have given me!!! Nearby activities: They also have paddle boards and kayaks for rents.

I cannot recommend this place enough! We stayed for 5 days over our spring break and it was practically magical. The staff was friendly. The location is unbeatable. The kids and adults had so much fun searching for treasures and critters when the tide was out. We will definitely be back.

It was a great time there having a room with a great view and so close to the water was very nice. We had a designated parking spot and campfire pit with plenty of room to sit outside. The room has a kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal and clean up as well. A shower and a decent size bathroom and 2 bedrooms too with extra sleeping space in the front room. The windows didn't have screens which was disappointing but besides that I was happy with the accommodations. I took my small Fido with me as well.

Our trip was for our Winter Baby Moon. It was cold and rainy on the island. Our cabin was perfect! There was a wood burning stove with wood and a started kit waiting for us. The cabin also had a heater that kept the room as toasty as we wanted. There was a kitchenette with dishes and even a spice rack! The stove and oven came in handy when we picked up a pizza from the local grocery store. There was even a tea pot and coffee maker for the tea and coffee provided. The staff was friendly. There was even a little general store in the lobby with a little coffee shop and some hot meals (hot dogs, mini pizza), beer and wine, and souvenirs. The drive to East Sound was less than 15 minutes.

We came in by boat, all of the staff are accommodating and friendly, the free pump out is easy to use with help from the staff. The beer was cold and the pizza was hot. Very clean facility, I would have given it a 5 but I think with little effort the owners could step up their game a little and offer a better food selection at the grill, and a more appointed store for their guests. I dont see how they could lose money, it would just require a little more effort.

We've stayed in a beach front cabin, and it was awesome. The main reason we loved it so much is because it's dog friendly. And it's hard to find good places in WA that allow you to bring the dog. Usually, they give you the least desired cabins, rooms etc. But not this resort. The cabin had a kitchen, a Weber Kugel bbq, a fireplace and picnic table dedicated for us.The WiFi is ok, of course you want to enjoy the scenery. But in case you must do some work or just need to be in touch with family, then it's okay'ish... not the best especially when all other guests are around. But all in all, it worked. The one thing I would say, because it was also a MTB trip for me, the shower is small but it's a cabin. In

We came in the off season (Feb) for a little valentine's getaway. We stayed in unit 14. Nice little cabin for just the two of us. They provided some firewood inside for the wood burning stove. Nice little kitchen with everything we needed (coffee maker, full fridge, small range and toaster). The bed was a little firmer than we like, but was fairly comfortable. Grill on the porch, and a fire pit with chairs nearby. The cabin can sleep 5 (queen bed, twin bed and futon). TV is a little small, but works. View in the winter is really good since the tree in front didn't have any leaves, would be a detriment in the spring and summer. People in the office were very pleasant and friendly. Would definitely come back if we're on the west coast again.

This Family Beach Resort was pretty cool. It is totally for families and not really a place for a couples getaway, but none the less, was pretty nice. Even though the tents and cabins are right on top of each other (their website makes it seem wide open and spacious, but it really isn t) they were very clean and I slept like a baby. No discount for fire bans but we still enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. The hike around Mountain lake on the other side of the island was totally worth it. 4 miles around. You can go crabbing at West Beach Resort but unless you bring the items needed to cook it, your out of luck. Would be awesome if they had the means to cook it for you, seeing as how this place is more set up with Glam camping in mind. I will say that the chili dogs from their concessions stand was pretty tasty for a late night snack. Very nice people and I totally recommend this place for families. It wasn t exactly what I expected but this place did the job.

We ve been blessed to be able to come here every summer since 2016. The view of the Salish Sea has always been phenomenal, and sunsets are always memorable. We make most of our meals together as a family in our cabin, but the local sites and businesses are fun to visit for meals and souvenirs. The inter-island ferry makes it easy to walk on or drive on to the local islands to expand our site-seeing options. Our family has made this a we gotta go again next year grandpa! kind of place. Cabins are always clean, and the staff and friendly and helpful. Hopefully you ll be able to snag a chance to visit and make some of your own memories.

Really poor management of the RV spaces. I had a spot reserved. Nice sunny spot. Flat, new gravel. They gave it to someone else and gave me a muddy, dark/shaded, mosquito laden spot. Tried to point out they obvious deficiencies. Zero apologies.Got an email afterwards asking: how was your stay. I told them what happened. Zero response. And, oh yeah, the spot they stuck us with? Someone next door thought it was theirs. (Very poorly marked spaces.) I asked management if they d ask the gentleman to relocate his trailer. Again, they looked at me like I was bothering them. They never did ask the nice man to move his trailer. I had to do it.June, 2021 was when we stayed. I hope for the owner s sake, and for the sake of their guests, that the fellow who was the manager then is no longer working as the on-site manager.Addition: I received an email specifying the nicer site. But it was probably given to the party that had the site I ended up with, because of their complaining about the mud, and demanding to be moved.Calling the muddy site an upgrade on that weekend is beyond any reason. Not dealing with the party who was taking up half the site I ended up with was cowardly. He told me no one called him to ask him to relocate, even though management had promised to.

I ve had a place on orcas Island for almost 17 years now. And I ve watched West Beach resort really transform itself. They ve done a lot of great work to the resort, new docs were put in and the store is great! They sell food, coffee, fishing supplies, as well as beer and wine. They also have a fuel dock. You can usually pull up if you are just staying for a few hours. But if you re looking to stay overnight I d highly recommend calling ahead of time. They don t have a ton of dock space.
