My son and I stayed in cabin 10 for 2 nights and it was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! The resort is quaint and clean. The cabin was perfect for us, rustic, clean, and had all the amenities we could need. The staff was unbelievably kind and helpful. We made friends with the neighbors camping next to us and enjoyed breakfast and mimosas with them. We played in the lava tubes, explored waterfalls and trails framed by breathtaking views of Mt. St. Helens and swift reservoir. The air is so fresh and clean, and the stars are amazing. My son and I had a great bonding trip filled with laughter and relaxation. We didn t spot Bigfoot on this trip, but we ll be back again this summer to pick up where we left off!Thank you Lone Fir staff for everything, we ll see you at your annual car show event!!

This was a great spot for a quick overnight in our camper. Sadly, it was out of season for just about everything, but that's not these folks' fault. The gift shop had lotsa cute items and the restaurant food was tasty! Bathrooms were updated and clean Would love to give it a go in the summer - they have an outdoor pool that looked inviting.

A Very nice stay. Everything was super clean and all the furniture was wooden which was a nice rustic and unique experience. Even some deer roaming around the grounds of the resort felt like a good place to sleep. Even got there later it was dark and they were nice enough to have the key ready for me with room number. I was alittle worried. Thank Lone Fir

Beautiful cabins! We got Cabin #12 for one day while we enjoyed the hikes around Cougar. The cabin was clean, quiet, very well decorated and the layout was comfortable for a couple and two kids. I wish the bed had more support or that some burned bubs were replaced but we had a great time that made these a little thing. Coffee supplies were really on the spot. I'll definitely recommend this place for a fantastic getaway around Mt. St. Helens.Nearby activities: Don't miss the Ape Cave, the Lava Canyon trail and the Trail of two forests.

This is a great place to stay to visit Mount St Helens Park and vicinity. Fairly basic accommodations, but our cabin #6 was comfortable and quiet. It was clean except for the coffee maker, but that was easily rectified. The staff was super friendly. We ate our dinner in the restaurant on site; it was surprisingly good and the service excellent. We had salads, chili and a chicken sandwich, all perfectly seasoned and tasty. We were sorry they're not open for breakfast past Labor Day, and there's no other restaurant close-by, but the kitchen is well equipped to make your own breakfast. We would definitely stay there again!

Service is usually the most important thing that stands out in my mind. As a maintenance man working at lone fir this past summer, I was promised by Jeremy (AKA Kevin) the owner that I would get a "family discount" on a cabin. 3 months later and my Aunt, who was Promised a discount, still hasn't received it. As the maintenance man I worked HARD keeping lone fir in top top shape for excellent customer experience, and feel completely taken advantage of and mislead by the owner. Can my Aunt PLEASE get her discount? Should be FREE after doing 32 fire pits at min wage!Just curious!? Did you EVER give my family member her promised discount????Are you seriously charging people $8 for a shower? What happened to 50 cents for 9 minutes? Greed is the number one sin!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place!!!We arrived to the warmest welcome from the front desk. The cabins are Uber clean & cozy vibe. The entire staff definitely make you feel at home! Super friendly & just care about you & their jobs.We ate most of meals at the restaurant. Come hungry because the portions are big & SO SO SO good. Good thing we did lots of walking because we ate hardy. The ice cream was a great summer treat. The grounds were clean. And the kids looked to be having fun in the pool. Cute little store with lots of cool gear & wine. Love the whole Sasquatch vibe & all the cute signs as you arrive. So much to see as well in the area. A close drive to Mt. St. Helen & the river is across the way. Very relaxing trip. Can't to return next year.Thank you Lone Fir peeps.

My husband and I spent this last summer at Lone Fir Resort in Cougar Washington. It was the best work camping experience we've had yet!! The owner, Jeremy, and his right hand (wo)man, Tabby, keep that place ship shape. They're a great team! Jeremy is kind and caring. He's accommodating and fun and very generous. I'm pretty sure Tabby is Wonder Woman's alter ego. That girl is the hardest worker I've ever met and never complains. She's sweet and uplifting and just enjoyable to be around. The park is gorgeous and well maintained. The food is awesome and they have the best gift shop ever!! We really enjoyed our time there. Thank you guys for being a part of our journey and making it memorable.

Beautifully appointed and clean room with cute rustic decor (hotel unit). It was so nice to have ample counter space in the bathroom (a rarity in accommodation!) and a large shower. It was also nice to have all the toiletries in large refillable dispensing bottles instead of the usual wasteful little plastic bottles. Nice thoughtful touches throughout wish we could have stayed longer. (The restaurant was excellent also we shared the largest brownie/ice cream dessert ever!)

The staff is five star! They where super friendly and knowledgeable. The location is a great jump off point for hiking, fishing and sightseeing. If you wanted to spend the whole day there just hanging out, I wouldn't think there would be enough to do. But, if you want a great location to sleep and than go explore, this is the place. The room was very clean with nice bedding and fluffy towels. A bit of road noise, but very manageable.Nearby activities: So many beautiful hikes to explore!

We had a great weekend stay up visiting Mt St Hellens. We were a bit early in the season so we didn t use the pool but did use the bathrooms and showers. Had a nice meal at the restaurant too and my son had fun in the game room. We were very happy with the service we received, the grounds keeper even loaned us a caulking gun to fix our leaking water connection on our camper. So nice to have accommodating staff who help out. Everyone was super friendly and we enjoyed our stay. We appreciate the quiet hours too!

We decided to book a room/cabin here the night before our Mt. St. Helens summit instead of driving both ways from Tacoma. It was a great choice! The cabin was cozy and comfy, and we came back for lunch at the restaurant after our climb. The staff were all very friendly as well. Would definitely recommend!Rooms: Our cabin was cozy, peaceful, relaxing, and had everything we needed!Nearby activities: Perfect location to sleep before and eat after climbing Mt. St. Helens!Food & drinks: Great food and cozy restaurant

This place is absolutely amazing! Well apportioned, modern and comfortable cabins, cozy RV spaces, a clubhouse, swimming pool and wonderful cafe. Cafe staff is very helpful, courteous and hard working. Dine in or get food to go. The food is very high quality and delicious. Burgers, pizza (summer only) and pancakes. Yum. The milkshakes are superior. I especially love the huckleberry ice cream and Lahar Brownie Sunday. So yummy! The front desk staff is super friendly and helpful with suggestions for local sites! Surrounded by natural beauty, you can hike, kayak or simply hang by the pool or on the cafe patio. Bring your relaxation vibe, your positive energy, your good intentions and enjoy Lone Fir Resort! You won t be disappointed!!

I've been to the Lone Fir Inn a couple of times in the past year for dining. This was our first stay in the lodging. Not only is the food in the restaurant very good, but the lodging is very clean and charming, in the sense of an old-fashioned style, built (updated?) to modern build quality and amenities. Very comfortable! And the gift shop is well-stocked, and the staff (gift shop, desk and restaurant) is very friendly and courteous. We'll definitely return when next in the Cougar WA area.

Good location for exploring the south side of Mt St. Helen, Ape Cave, Lava Canyon and Trail of Two Forests. Looked like a decent restaurant, quite busy on the weekend. Nice pool and an arcade. Essentially not privacy between sites but most people were in RVs so not a big issue. It can get noisy since the resort sits directly beside Hwy 503 and we heard a fair amount of loud motorbikes or rally cars racing along the road at 60-80 mph. Our Cabin 10 was about 15 from the hwy so I don t recommend that unit. Otherwise the cabin was cute, clean, and had a full kitchen and bathroom and was fine for our family of four.

Lone Fir does it again. This resort never disappoints. Even in the winter when it s a little quieter, everyone is so friendly, the food is good and the rooms are comfy and cozy. Thank you for never disappointing. I will be back again soon. The staff is kind and helpful. The entire property is clean and well maintained. My accommodations were very comfortable and had everything I need Or available for my long stay. The cafe has great food and the service is friendly and quick. I ve met many nice people and will definitely be back. I recommend to anyone who wants a great getaway whether in an RV or a hotel stay it accommodates everyone. Has comfortable cabins and good restaurant near to Yale lake. Camping and RV sites also available. And is a great stepping stone to exploring the southern and eastern sides of Mt. Saint Helen's. Don't miss Trail of Two Forests, June Lake, Lahar viewpoint and Lava Canyon! These were ancient and recent lava fields and are awesome. Cedar flats research area on Rt. 25 also has a 1 mile trail through incredible Douglas fir, Western cedar and hemlock trees. Check for road closures and wildfires during visit.
