Only the suites are handicap accessible. Stayed in a suite, it was enormous. Two bedrooms, living room that could have had 10-12 people without crowding, apartment size kitchen with full size appliances and a spacious bathroom. The pictures on line do not do it justice. Only met the husband half of owners but he was very personable and helpful. If you like the outdoors and gorgeous scenery I would have a hard time finding a better place to stay for a few days.

A nice stay in Concrete. The room was large and comfy after warming up. Knowing that hotel is undergoing updates, not surprised by carpets that need a shampoo and noise bleeding thru walls. Overall our stay was good, off season, and we take white noise along, the location is convenient and accessible to restaurants and bars. I wished for darker curtains, and think this will be an issue this summer, but was fine this time of year. Check in was easy and smooth...the drop off check out was perfect.Rooms: Great theme in the room ;unique to not have room #sWalkability: Easy walk to local bar and food.Food & drinks: Convenient to local eateries, bars, and amenities.

I could not have asked for a better stay! The new managers , Heather and Brandon, are amazing. This is by far my favorite hotel I have ever stayed in. I love that this place is a smaller, historic hotel with a very homey feel .What makes this hotel so unique and special is the love and attention heather and Brandon put into this hotel and in taking care of their guests. They make themselves available practically 24/7 for you to make sure you are well taken care of.I stayed in the island suite and absolutely LOVED it.. The suite has a full kitchen , spacious living room and two separate bedrooms. They even provide dishes silverware and pots!. The room was extremely clean upon arrival , even more so than any other hotel I ve stayed in. There were nice personal welcoming touches , like a binder with lots of information to make the most out of your stay, a cute personal greeting card, etc. This hotel is extremely close to popular trails, lakes, mountains, etc. it s also quiet, peaceful , and cozy. From now on, this will be my number one spot to stay at when visiting concrete WA and/or the surrounding area.If you are looking for a really good deal and a home away from home, you MUST stay here!

I don t know if management has changed because we definitely didn t experience anything like the previous reviews. The gentleman that worked the front desk was at the location longer then their closing hours and he welcomed us in the office and checked us in. He was kind and made checking in easy. We stayed in cozy cottage which was a small room with a nice bathroom. We were shocked at how nice it was for a 2 star motel. The bed was made with multiple sheets and blankets, the bathroom was big and clean. The guy even left us a fan while we were out hiking. We came back to the fan and a note at our door saying sorry they didn t have AC but hopefully the fan would help. We went on the first hot day of spring and the room didn t even need the fan it was cool and comfortable. The whole process was easy and we stayed two nights. I m happy with the stay but the town was definitely weird. A good area to stay if your hiking at the national park. Beautiful drive!

A lot of the reviews here are from the prior owner from what I ve discovered.I recently had the pleasure of staying here and the husband and wife that work here proceeded exceptional customer service. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and well taken care of! However, what stood out the most to me was the incredible work of the husband and wife who manage (or own?) the place.Their hard work and attention to detail as they renovate is evident in every aspect of the hotel. The rooms were immaculate, comfortable, and with modern amenities considering where located. The couple's dedication to making their hotel the best it could be was truly inspiring. They were always available to answer any questions I had, and their passion for hospitality was infectious.I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. The level of customer service and attention to detail is unmatched. It's clear that the owners have put their hearts and souls into creating a truly exceptional experience for their guests. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I was just blown away by the host at this establishment. He was very curtious. He wanted to make sure I had everything I needed and walked me through everything I needed to know about the hotel and the town. The only downside to this place was the carpeting in my room. There were so e obvious stains. But it was very clean. Once they change the carpets out. This hotel will always be a 5star, I am sure. Parking was not the greatest either. But it does not take away from the stay. Huge rooms, great amenities in the washroom, huge comfy bed. For the price, I've never stayed anywhere better. Do not be deterred from the lower star ratings. The new management has made this quaint little hotel a masterpiece. I would highly recommend it. I hope they can upgrade the carpets in the future, and possibly the TVs. Always a gripe with me. It is 2023 !! Lol . I know you will enjoy the rooms anyway.

We booked two rooms as part of our family trip to the North Cascades. The couple that runs the motel are attentive. The kitchen was unexpected and allowed us to cook a hearty breakfast. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Would recommend - check in and check out was fairly quick and easy.

We could not have asked for a better stay. The hotel rooms were better than advertised, EXTREMELY clean (especially bathrooms which are huge when spending the day hiking), and the service and hospitality was better than what you would expect at a 5 star resort in the middle of a big city.I cannot stress this enough, the stay here was unbelievable and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Close location to north cascades, some great restaurants nearby, and an awesome bakery and ice cream shoppe for my fellow sweet tooths.

Stayed 2 nights in the cozy cottage. It s an older place I think but not dilapidated and run by a nice married couple. I had no issues and would stay here again. The location is on the edge of the North Cascades and has 2 different type of places for food/drinks across the street. Lone star is open 7a-3p for good breakfast/lunch foods. Hub has food but I didn t eat. Just great drink prices and good bar tender. Down the road is also 5 B s bakery and that was amazingly delicious. Can t beat the price and location for sure.

My friends and we got two rooms for three nights to visit the North Cascade NP. We would like to thank the manager Heather Davenport for making our stay so wonderful. She is so nice, helpful and professional. She really makes us feel like home. In addition, we like this hotel, the room is very cozy, clean, and artistic,We definitely will come back again and introduce this hotel to my friends when they visit the North Cascade NP.

Update, new manager 100% better!!June 2021: Try to check in my brother-in-law and his two small children and was told the second child could not stay because it's a two-person room I asked the receptionist to explain it further as it's a three year old and four year old with their father they would share a bed she then spoke very slowly like I was dumb I asked her not to speak to me like a child then she called me a little bit** and the c word and told me she was calling the cops if I didn't leave the property then proceeded to charge my credit card still for the night I am disputing the charges and reaching out to the Better Business Bureau. The sad thing is I live in concrete and it's a beautiful place but people like Melinda give it a bad name

Place is going under new management, but is amazing! The rooms are quite spacious and super comfy. Our room came with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a couch. There is one tv in the living room and another in our room. The beds are soft enough to have a good sleep after a day of hiking or just walking through town. The price for staying is more than fair, the location is just perfect since is in the middle of a 3 way cross road. You can pick to either go left back to the city, right towards Diablo lake or down. There is a bar, restaurant, ice cream shop and a theater across the street.I can't wait to go back and stay longer.Rooms: Super spacious, comes with a heater in the room and a big AC/Heater in the living room.Nearby activities: Bar, ice cream, theater, restaurant, river.Safety: Quiet and small community. Everyone knows each other.

Great spot, comfortable bed (love the separate room vs living room!!) and all you need to discover the North cascades NP. Most importantly, incredible staff. We felt very well taken care of. So glad to see this place under management who cares about its rep! Highly recommend.

We had to book last minute 1 night stay and they happened to have a room available. Perhaps because of the previous reviews. However, I haver never based my stays fully on other people's experiences. As far as I could tell, people's opinions said this place was clean.. and that's the most important for a quick stay.Well, talk about a nice little find in a small historic strip of Concrete, WA right off highway 20! Each room has its own cute theme. Cozy Cottage, Seascape, Seaside and a handful of others (I apologize for forgetting off hand what the names were.) We stayed in Seascape, it was spacious, had a nice sitting arrangement, large restroom, and the bedroom had its own door. I believe the couch had a hide-a-bed but we didn't need to use it. Yeah sure, the carpet had stains, but come on - doesn't yours? Everything was indeed clean despite the stains. The service was great too. Despite others' experiences, the front desk lady was kind, talkative and just wanted to do her job.Being a kind human being to others goes a long way. Thank you for a charming place of rest and comfort.

Full Disclosure: My friend and I decided to book a room here partly because of the proximity to North Cascades National Park and partly because we thought we were in for a treat, considering the reviews about the "mean front desk lady". (Frankly, I aspire to be a cranky lady who yells at tourists one day, too. I was prepared to take notes.)My friend and I arrived just after the check-in time. We were greeted by Melinda, who checked us in, asked about our trip and home-town, and gave us some suggestions for making our stay a good one. She was super welcoming...it quickly became clear that she's not just the "front desk lady", but most likely the sole owner/proprietor of the hotel. Even much of the artwork in the room(s) appear to be handmade by her (so cute!) She's clearly protective of her slice of heaven in a small town, and rightly so!The room itself was incredibly clean and spacious. It was set up more like an apartment (separate sitting/TV room with a small kitchen area, bedroom also had its own flatscreen TV and the softest blankets EVER, and the bathroom was HUGE!) She even included darker face-towels for guests to remove makeup and other products without damaging the other bath towels...keeping costs down to what what honestly a very reasonable rate for a large apartment-style room within a few dozen miles of a National Park. We felt lucky to stay here!As long as you are courteous and remember that you are a guest in a special place, I have no doubt that you'll find Melinda and the other folks in Concrete, WA to be very hospitable and welcoming. I would visit again in a heartbeat!

Very detail oriented rooms, and you really feel that the new owners care a lot and try to improve constantly. Recommended!Walkability: Restaurants just across the street

The manager cancelled the reservation and gave our room to other customers. We had to sleep in the car in front of the hotel for our first night, and she cancelled our second night after that. She refused to talk to us, was agressive, and called the sheriff. The sheriff was very nice, told us that we were not the only people to experience this, and tried to help us as much as he could. This manager is CRAZY...worst experience ever at a motel.

I strongly recommend get to the hotel at 4pm as this is the check-in hour. We got there early and we had to wait at the bakery of the town until it was time. When it was finally the time to check-in, the lady explained to us that she is the only one taking care of that place and had lots of work to do that s why she couldn t check us in earlier, which is understandable. She was pretty cool and let us know a couple of activities to do in the area before sunset. The room was clean, organized, and the sheets smelled clean. Even if there is not much to do in the town, it is a convenient spot near North Cascades National Park.

UNFORTUNATELY I just have to agree with the other comments, the manager of this place, Melinda made our first night stay unpleasant for several reasons- we arrived late because we didn t know about check in time (booked by phone) and we had no connection the whole day to verify (we arrive at 7:30pm which is more than reasonable !!!) and she just yelled at us for not checking our voicemail (there s like 10 papers on the front desk which makes it messy to read !)- second, she called at 11:30pm because we were walking loudly (yeah sure walking barefoot on carpet is loud )- and last, in the morning she came 3 times to the door (starting 9AM) to tell us we had to be out by 10:30am (and not 10:35 or 10:40). I call that harassment to come to the room and say you have 10 minutes left.Anyways we just called the nice guy working there and canceled the rest of the nights we had booked. The room itself was not bad, the bed is comfy, there s a small kitchenette, the bathroom is large but the carpet has stains, the towels as well and the water stays misty for 3 minutes so I don t know how drinkable it isOh and last we had only cold water when we wanted to shower at night.Well my only recommendation right now is to pray for Melinda s soul with the 2 holy bibles we can find in the room

We arrived 1+ hour prior to closing (according to the website). There were no lights on and no staff anywhere to be found. There were paper signs posted all over the management office window with many rules (too many to keep track of), where there was also a door bell for service. Once rang, an older lady came out of no where and started screaming at us immediately. We were stunned and flabbergasted - we have never had an encounter like this ever before. She proceeded to tell us to check our voicemail, which we had been driving 2+ hours with spotty service, so it did not ring and/or come through. Some other (nicer) staff member left a voicemail with some instructions in that voicemail we later found out. She then proceeded to demand details about our car, but since it was a rental car, we didn t know the license plate number off the top of our heads. We again were stunned about her tone, and proceeded to get her the car details as fast as we could. Once we found the room after more weird instructions (rooms are not numbered like normal), we entered into a pretty spacious room. It was fairly clean but old, with stained carpeting and a sunken bed. There were also explicit signs all over the room about what not to do. One of the instructions/rules was to not go to the management office for check-out and to leave personal information on a piece of paper to leave in the room. We were not comfortable with leaving credit card details as they had that on file already so we wrote on file . The next day after we left the property we got an angry/petty text message stating that they didn t need any payment details and they didn t appreciate us saying on file . If you didn t need it, why even send the message to us - we didn t respond because what s the point. They don t care about customer service, because if you are in this area and need a place to stay, this is pretty much your only option. Stay at your own risk, glad it was cheap.

So my husband and booked a two night stay to explore the National Park. I was worried after reading the reviews of a mean front desk lady and dirty hotel. Once we arrived, he got us checked in. The front desk lady was far from mean. She was plesent about the whole experience. The room was huge and clean enough for my liking. It was definitely worth the 70.00 a night fee. We will be back again.

We had 3 rooms booked for guests of our wedding. 3 hours before, the bat shi* crazy manager canceled the reservation citing that she couldn t get the rooms clean. We were so desperate for places for our guests to stay, that we said we d clean them ourselves (just what you want to to while preparing for a wedding). She got pretty nasty and hung up on us. You d be nuts to book a room here.

Don t stay here! If you want to stay here to go to North Cascades national park, it s not convenient. The workers at the reception are unwelcoming. The room itself is very far from welcoming due to the numerous restrictions and signs. The ENTIRE room is crowded with papers saying things like If the sink gets clogged you ll be charged to hire a plumber and if the towels get dirty you will be charged as well. The website says that there is an air conditioner in the room, there is, but not in the bedroom. The carpet has multiple stains and the water coming from the sink isn t clear, instead it is a misty white color. The only good part was that the bed was big, but overall, it was an unpleasant experience.

I usually don't leave reviews as a travel agent. But here it goes I have stayed in this hotel every year since they opened up. Each year their has been some issues but this year was the absolute worst. We loved how convenient the hotel was to our dads shop and main street but here is the honest truth. The rooms are nice looking yes, the beds are comfortable except for the hideabed in the couch it was horrible and the couch was very uncomfortable. I had called ahead of time and told them that we would have 5 people and next extra bedding for the hideabed no extra sheets were given. The desk charged us an additional $10 per night for an extra guest past 4 people even though the room is a suite and easily sleeps 6. We always need the suite because it's the only handicap room and it's honestly not convenient for someone handicap any longer they have rearranged the room to make it very hard for someone handicap to get around. The gal who runs the front desk has been their for three years and each year seems to be a little more snooty. She commented to me that every year we have stayed we have left a mess. I said no we don't, each year I empty the garbages and put the towels together that are dirty and I have pulled the sheets off the bed for her to easily take them out and clean them and she proceeded to say yes you do you always leave a mess and if it's a mess again we will charge you. She then commented that they had a very expensive paint job done and to be careful with the walls again we are always carefully and treat the place great. I make sure all the dishes are fully cleaned and put away. She also told me that the room keys were $60 each and I better not loose them, I have never lost a room key in my life. I don't know what her problem is but she is a horrible person for guest services. This is officially our last time staying at this hotel. If I could give it a no star I would.
