Avoid filing up here, gas is contaminated. More than one tow truck driver confirmed they have been bringing cars back to Port Angeles and all of them had filled up here. Garage has confirmed it today. Filled Nov 10 2023

Very helpful staff and you can buy the pass for cape flattery ozette and shi shi beach. No bathroom and food on the go. Be sure to also check out the museum ($10) for a wonderful look at the history and Native Expresso Grounds if you need food/drink.

The absolute best fried chicken I have ever had. This is the closest thing to southern fried chicken anywhere. Juicy, hot, perfect coating, but not too thick, light golden brown with a hint of pepper.

I've always gave hessmart 5 stars. Recently they got a new owner who has changed a lot of things for the better, however the prices have disappeared for a lot.of items So it's a mystery what your going to pay. Is this cold medicine 5 bucks or 20 you won't know until your at the register. If this gets addressed I'll change back to 5 stars but until then I will use them for small orders and drive to forks or neah bay when I need more then a few things.

They don't take credit cards at the pump, which is kind of a pain in my backside.

taco meat has been burnt last 2 times I've gotten nachos, told the cashier, and today another burnt meat nacho.~ just recently they raised their prices and have been overcharging locals, they lost my business been a long time customer.

Food prices are fine, only issue with this place is the gas. It seems like every time you stop there, the only gas pumps working are the premium ones. Just a bit odd.

Hess is the Best out here on the west end. Espresso, pizzas, mini deli, and you name it convenience for all. Did I forget gass!

Great little rest stop. They have warm food options and a little grocery section, plus big bottle of chocolate milk which is great after a long hike

A little high on the price, but this IS a very isolated area, so it's to be expected. They have friendly staff and an espresso stand in-store.

The staff was super confused about the gas charge I was paying with a card & he was paying with cash two different pumps & it took them 5 minutes to figure out how to correct the charge no charge
