Such a cool ferry! Worth just doing as a tourist. Everyone gets a view because it's so tiny and there are only 2 lines of cars. Get there early and get a front row seat! Island itself is adorable and has lots of beautiful trails.

Small and quick little Ferry to shuttle about 20 vehicles to Lummi Island and back to the shores of Bellingham. Also, a nice beach to cruise around with a convenience store near the beach and ferry.

My first time on a ferry in a car, visiting from AZ. It was crazy, there were 2 large pieces of equipment on the way to Lummi Island and then the rest bumper to bumper cars. How does it float?? They seem to operate with experience and safety. Great 1st time!

The ferry is very dependable and the crew is always great. They all live on the island and are an integral part of our community.July 11th was the 60th anniversary of the ferry starting its runs from Lummi Island to Gooseberry Point. So it's 10 years past the point of where many have been retired. It is still running around well, even as an elder citizen.

OMG this made our trip complete. We used to ride this ferry as kids. The associates on the ferry were friendly and fun. Lummi island is breathtaking.

If you love the thrill of a breathtaking Washington state ferry ride, you have to try this tiny tugboat sized ferry. Last Saturday a darling young person was selling duck eggs by the dozen to cars in the wait line. While on your 5 minute ferry ride, a staff member goes from vehicle to vehicle tapping on the window to get your payment. Fabulously charming experience.

Did I ever think I'd have a ferry experience that compelled me to write a review? No. But then I took the Lummi Island ferry.Amazing staff - helped us navigate driving the car in a smaller space than we're used to.Efficient - You're there before you know it! Note - you pay on board)Friendly - Lean out the window and chat with your fellow passengers or the crewHoliday Schedule - was running a off the posted times to our BENEFIT; Thank you! (We missed the 2pm, but the team came right back to get us).

A bit of a long wait as not many cars fit on the ferry at once. The ferry ride itself is quite rocky. Other than that it did the job.

The Whatcom Chief and it's friendly crew are part of the character of lummi Island. The ferry runs often, holds about 20 vehicles and only takes 6 minutes to cross Hale Passage. It's common to spot marine life like harbor porpoises during the passage.

The people on the ferry are sometimes nice. The price is reasonable ($14 for a car and one driver to the island, free from the island back to the mainland).
