My Diesel Ford E350 van had a serious breakdown on the I-5 (engine oil leaking everywhere!) and this garage was recommended to me by a local. Alex is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly; he got me back on the road swiftly and even offered continued support. 2500km later I am sitting in the desert sun and thank him for the masterful surgery on my home on wheels. This is the kind of mechanic I have been looking for - if I were a local, this garage would be my choice.

If you need a mechanic that will diagnose and fix your problem quickly and efficiently this is where to come. Some mechanics are crooks fixing things you don t need. Not here! Great prices, friendly people, and quality service. Highly recommend!

I needed some exhaust repairs done to my Sprinter Van and called to see if they could help. Alex got me in very quickly to assess the work and worked with me to fit my schedule. The work they did was top quality, professiona, and reasonably priced. I will definitely recommend AR Mechanic to my friends.

Alex is the most friendly mechanic you will ever meet, and he does a great job. His whole crew is clean, and that is saying something, considering the fact that they are working in the grime and grease of cars all day. His rates are competitive, and his turnaround is the fastest of any shop in Bellingham. Would give him 10 stars if possible. I took my 2004 Silverado in for some repairs and Alex was very honest and easy to work with. Alex was up front with how much it will cost and there wasn t any surprises on the bill. He isn t trying to rip people off like other shops would and he looked over the whole truck and found some other needed repairs. As well as recommending what should be replaced in the future. I would recommend him to anyone. Very professional automotive shop I won t go anywhere else. Make the right decision and call Alex he will get you back on the road worry free.

I'm all for supporting small businesses. Alex and his team are amazing. After my husband passed, who was my mechanic, I had slight anxiety when needing to find someone to fix my brakes on my Mazda. I was referred to Alex and he and his team took care of my brakes. I trust Alex and his team so much that I brought my husbands beloved Jeep for them to checkout before I take it out on the road. If you're looking for a genuine honest mechanic the AR Mechanics is definitely where you want to go.

Got my car's diagnostic done at O'Reilly's revealing a purge flow evap system problem. Was recommended Alex at AR Mechanic by the staff. Service started out promising with pictures of the parts that needed replacing and a cost breakdown of all the parts and labor needed. I got my car back in 6 days and all appeared to be good. 10 days later the check engine light came back on with the same code diagnosed at O'Reilly's. I contacted Alex, and dropped my car off for him to make things right. Over a week later, i tried reaching out to get info on my car with no response. 14 DAYS after i dropped it off, I finally got a response to come pick up my car. The second time my car was there, it was free, but I didn't receive any paperwork or details on what service was done. A few days later, my check engine light came on with the same issue diagnosed again by O'Reilly's. I've tried to reach out to get information on what service was done the second time it was there, but I'm not getting any response. Extremely frustrating communication, long turnaround times, and I would like my money back for the evap system work at this point because the issue is still happening after two attempts.Services: Auto exhaust system repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

Alex is wonderfully helpful in talking clients through the exact issue with their vehicle. The time spend in the shop was hardly any at all, with an overall great turn-around time. The tow truck was able to get my vehicle to the location without issue and even appropriate after hours accommodation for key drop-off. When you come to this shop you get the royal treatment. Honest, extremely knowledgeable and friendly are a few words I would use to describe Alex. I was new to the area and asked someone at an auto parts store for a recommendation and without hesitation he gave me Alex s number. The guys at the shop even set me up with a loaner car to use while mine was being fixed! Who else would do that? I wish I still lived in the area because I wouldn t go to anyone else!Thank you Alex and everyone at the shop!

I bought a Toyota Prius at the auto auction and took it here to get it checked out. I ended up having them complete all the work too.They're very upfront and straightforward about what work needs to be done, and the pricing seems very reasonable. The owner seems comfortable with hybrids and the car is working well! I ve owned 3 cars and any time I ve needed help in resolving issues with my cars , I ve gone to Alex and his shop for help. I really appreciate the thoroughness of explaining the issues I ve had with my car every time I needed something fixed (me being a girl, I don t know much about cars ). Alex has helped me see how much other places give you the runarounds, and charge an arm and a leg for some of the simplest stuff . I recommend Alex and his shop to anyone that is looking for an honest mechanic and who wants things done efficiently. Alex and his shop stand behind their work 100%! Ive known Alex the owner since he was 19 or 20 years old. Even then i thought he was am exceptional young man. His work ethic and honesty filters down into his constant pursuit to excellence and customer service. Every chance i get, as an autoparts specialist, i recommend Alex/ AR Mechanics to everyone that needs an honest reliable mechanic to get their vehicles on the road safely and always a good price! ( he has my car now )

My left headlight was out and I was told by Jiffy Lube that it was a wiring issue and not just my bulb. I was referred to Alex at AR mechanics through the awesome staff at O'Rielly Auto parts, and Alex not only helped me right away but also stayed open late on a Friday night to get my lights working. Turned out that Jiffy Lube had just lied about replacing and trying a new bulb, but Alex was completely reasonable and kind enough to not only put in a new bulb but also do a full car inspection before I left.He showed me areas of concern with my car and assured me that if my dealership is unable to do work in a reasonable time that he will help. Amazing service, two super cute kittens that are helpers, and for once I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of at a mechanic shop!I HIGHLY recommend visiting AR Mechanics for all your car needs!

Alex is a good dude. Took my 99 f-250 7.3 in to diagnose a bad sound. Figured it out quick, fixed it and fixed an exhaust leak. Amazing workmanship and friendly staff, brought my 2014 mustang in for some diagnostics off of a referral from a friend. Car had a check engine light and was running rough, was a simple fix of a sensor but was also updated on several other areas to watch as my car gets up in miles. I had another quote done for future work and it was reasonably priced! Thanks again Alex!!

Can't go wrong with AR Mechanic. Alex is very knowledgeable, reliable, professional, great at diagnostics, and does quality work. I was very impressed with the work he did on my GMC Sierra truck for a reasonable price. I highly recommend this place to all my family and friends. Worth checking out!

This was My first time getting work done here after a couple Failed attempts at other shops here in whatcom county. They Were FAST, reliable & Kept great contact to make sure I was up to date on everything, I didn t feel like they were trying to up sale me in anyway.. What I needed done was the Service I received & they also did a free oil change for me. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AR MECHANICS! They were great & I am definitely returning for any future work that I might need done.

Alex is a great mix of honesty, professionalism and willingness to provide the best customer care to serve his client. He is a true Car Doctor and a wonderful person with a big heart who will take extra steps to help with all your car problems and needs.AR MECHANIC business has saved me so much time, money and hassle with all my cars concerns during the last year and half. Please, make sure to experience Alex's skills before you go anywhere else!The very first time I called was when my car died in the middle of the road at 7:30 pm. He came to tow-away my car without ever seeing me in person. He has also worked on weekend to make sure my car was ready for the road before snow hit Bellingham last winter. Do you know anyone else who will do that anymore?I, personally, have serviced two of my cars at his shop (Chrysler Cirrus and Hyundai Elantra). Both cars have had wide range of issues being diagnosed and fixed: from oil/freon change to complete car engine failure repair.Alex went above and beyond in every possible way to make all that cars problems a positive experience for me. We can't thank Alex enough for the work on our Corolla. He was friendly, professional and most importantly honest. Not only did he do a good job, he did it at less than half the price we were quoted by another shop! We are pleased with his work and he will definitely see us again! This was my first mechanic experience in the Bellingham area, which happened as an emergency. Someone at O'Reilly recommended me Alex at AR Mechanic. Alex did a fast and fantastic job of diagnosing and repairing my car, which I thought was totally doomed. Turns out it was only a messed up valve cover gasket & a blown coolant hose, which he fixed up! If I have any future car troubles (hopefully not) then I will definitely be returning.Service: Engine repair

This is my new spot. Been here in Bellingham for 4 years, played over, got stuff fixed that wasnt the problem and mistreated by other's until I was told to come here and OMG. Great service, fast and trustworthy. You can just feel the honesty vibe from Alex and his father. All the issues I been having fixed in first visit. One part Lol. I drove to Seattle and back without any worry on my shoulders. My baby is happy. Which makes me happy. They made us very happy. Thank you Alex.
