I'm so glad I found Mark and Mountainside Auto. As the owner of two older cars, I have peace of mind knowing I can take my cars to Mountainside and get an honest assessment and repair. The prices are competitive and the service is outstanding. Mark even replaced my serpentine belt at no extra charge when he replaced an alternator for me recently. Mark is absolutely amazing! He took great care of my cars for me is a very timely manner and did great work. Fit me in on the fly pretty much both times and made it to where I can take care of what I needed to concentrate on instead of turning a wrench for half of the day. Fair prices. Doesn't go cheap on parts. Definitely appreciate you, Mark. Thanks again!

Mark charged about the same rate as several other shops that quoted me however some of them did not use the full synthetic spec'd fluid yet charged same. When I asked if he would be taking the rear cover (diff change) apart he said "no". I was pleasantly surprised on pickup that he had. In addition he charged only an hour of shop time and did not charge me for the slip additive because it wasn't on the original quote he gave. I found him polite,honest, and hard working. I'd be happy to support his business again and would recommend him to others. Also very smooth scheduling for it just being him and another mechanic.

I'm a new customer with Mountainside Auto and I couldn't be more satisfied with the service, from start to finish. Mark is a real nice guy and knows is stuff. I tried to swap out the spark plugs in my Honda fit and hit a snag that stopped me in my tracks. I contacted Mountainside Auto, Mark answered the phone and assured me he could make everything right. Mark was able to fit me in immediately. I dropped the car off at 2 in the afternoon, he said he'd have it done before 5:30 much to my surprise Mark called me at 4 letting me know my car was fixed and ready for pickup. I was also surprised by the price of the service I was expecting it to be much more than I was charged. As I was leaving I told Mark that if I ever had any problems or needed any maintenance on any vehicle I own he would be my go to guy. My recommendation if you are in need of any type of auto maintenance or repair contact Mark at Mountainside Auto Service, you'll be very happy that you did. This review is long overdue!Mark has been our mechanic for many years and has helped us with a multitude of our cars. This last round with our Escape was a whirlwind and Mark was patient with us until we got it solved and FIXED! Many months later she is still running great despite being over 15 years old and close to 200,000 miles!We were not ready to purchase a new car so we were so relieved when Mark was able to figure out what was wrong it and got her up and running again. Mark was very busy with other projects,but still took care of fixing my vehicle.He did a great job,and his shop feels more like a old school mechanic, he didn t just rush me in and out,,felt like he actually cared about getting the job done right. He was very professional,and did a Fantastic job on my vehicle,, I plan on only going to him from now on when I need a mechanic.I rarely write reviews,,but when you get great service,I think it s important to leave a positive review. My car had a flashing check engine light and was running really rough. I brought it to Mark and not only did he fix the issue, he had it done same day. He went above and beyond to make sure it was done correctly and guaranteed his work. It was also a great value and I highly recommend Mountainside! I will be bringing my cars here from now on.If you re skeptical of auto shops like I am, look no further. Mark is a great guy. His prices are reasonable and I've always been happy with his workmanship. His workshop is clean, neat and well organized. Yesterday, for the first time since I've been servicing my car at his workshop, he had to ask me to come back an hour later for an oil change. He was very apologetic and to my surprise he even gave me a discount for the inconvenience! Now that's the type of person Mark is! No doctor or dentist has ever offered me that!Service: Oil change

Did some research before choosing an auto repair shop. This company has been consistently helpful and has great communication! I went in for break light repairs, ac diagnosis, and left door break issue. They gave me a full report and cost break down of everything and it was all very reasonable. Mark is great, with any car repairs can be expensive but so far I haven't had any problems with his repairs. He is super fast as well, I always get my car back sooner than expected. Helpful, honest and straightforward.

This is the second vehicle I have had Mark work on. Had a busted starter bolt that he removed and installed all three new bolts. Even though the busted bolt caused a little damage to the starter housing he was still able to torque it down correctly thus saving the cost of a new starter. I was an automotive store manager for years. I know a good shop when I see one. Mark I highly recommend for the following reasons, communicates clearly, quality work and completed on time.I have known Mark since high school. He communicated very clearly needed repairs, completed job in time period he gave, his repair shop is very clean and orderly. Very professional. Because my vehicle symptoms didn't reveal themselves when it was at his shop, we came up with plausible fixes and did the repairs. I like the way Mark will call if an estimate is going to be different than the quote to see if I want to proceed with the work. I trust that he is fair and I find his attention to detail superb. Mark graciously accepted a last minute "switch" of vehicles. He told us up front that he had only allotted time for an oil change & tire rotation on the vehicle for which we had made the appointment. The vehicle we brought in was due for a more extensive check-up. Mark called later in the afternoon to request more time to finish all the work. He was very professional and accommodating - and the car was ready early the next morning, as promised. We have been bringing our vehicles to Mountainside for several years and have always been satisfied with Mark's work and professional efficiency!

I took my car into Mark because it was making a grinding noise and a friend of mine takes her car there. He took a look at my brakes, made sure there was nothing wrong with them and sent me on my way. The price I paid was more than reasonable for his service. Mark was great to work with. The shop is clean and well maintained. My truck started making a metal to metal noise in the right rear wheel, kind of felt could be a wheel bearing. After diagnosis it was found to have a couple of rocks lodged somewhere. He could of done the wheel bearing as I asked, but called and to me the real reason. He did tell me that my valve covers were leaking rather badly, had him replace them and do a oil change. His prices for parts were reasonable and the work appears to be well done. I would recommend his work to anyone.

I scheduled one vehicle then showed up with a different one with a different problem. Mark didn't bat an eye. He got me in and fixed my issue while I waited. I was kept updated on the repair and I was in and out in an hour. Very happy with the the service here. Since I first posted this I have brought both of my other vehicles here.
